Cuichine

"House-made Peking duck with crispy skin, fresh veggies and pancakes ready to be stuffed, all of which flanked by a gutsy sweet and sour hoisin sauce. This signature dish embodies the philosophy of Cuichine: a modern version of old-school Chinese nosh, starring all our favourite Cantonese recipes. The interior of this eye-catching establishment is ideally suited to the trendy vibe and the restaurant also boasts a pleasant terrace." - Michelin Inspector

This is one of the most difficult reviews I have had to write, because the experience was really mixed. The good: the quality of the seafood and meat was high, the tiger prawns were delicious, we took the four course menu, and while some sauces were reused between courses, the food itself was good, no denying that. The bad: between clearing course 2 and serving course 3 we waited between 45-60 minutes. I'm not sure if the kitchen was totally backed up, or if they forgot about us and the table behind us who were on a similar schedule, but this was not really acceptable. To their credit, the service between course 1-2 and 3-4 was quite good. In this time we finished our drinks and needed to order more. I was not aware that the ( self-bottled !! ) water is 7.50 euros per bottle **as this is not listed on the menu at all**, and if you need a second one because your meal takes 3 hours, there is no free refill. For perspective, this is more than most Michelin star restaurants I've eaten at have charged. I would have expected a complimentary bottle of water in the case of a delay this bad as a bare minimum, then again maybe it is part of the strategy to make you wait so you will rack up a higher bill on delusionally priced tap water whose price you can only see at the end of the meal. Courses -There were edamame beans for the table while we ordered -A mix of dim sum served with tiger prawns + asparagus in oyster sauce -Seabass and crispy pork dishes with a side of bok Choi or similar -lime foam + strawberry sorbet

One of my favourite restaurants, where I love to come back again and again. The flavours are unique and amazing, blending perfectly together. Each dish is delicious and the 4 course menu is perfect to share with friends, as you can try a bigger variety of dishes. Save place for dessert, it is so worthy. Great selection of wines from all around the world

I booked Restaurant Cuichine for a company dinner, and it was a great choice. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Service was top-notch — attentive and friendly throughout the evening. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!

Great place and friendly staff and owner. The duck is special and a must try. The pork and the lobster were delicious as well . A nice wine selection to accompany your food.

The chef doesn't really know how to respect food and the rest of staff need to know how to respond to bad comments. I ordered 3-course dinner. Here was what I got in order. The fried cookie from appetizer smells rancid. -1 from 5. Red flag arises. The lemon served with sparking water isn't fresh. Strong smell from the refrigerator. -1 from 5. Second one. The baby corn from pork belly is simply pickled and the chef decided to go with it. The pork is just dry. The vegetable in the main course is catastrophicly over marinated without a hint of freshness. -1 from 5. No one ever served me to fill the water even when passing by. Staff kicked at my chair 3 times while there is 80cm in the aisle and no single guest did the same thing. -1 from 5. When I said I am not happy with the food and the service with this comment, no one came to me until I asked for feedback out of curiosity. The staff said on my face that it's my problem of taste and they are not going to change anything including the overnight lemon saying "it's of course not picked up 3 minutes ago". Excellent. All I want is just proper communication but the head of staff asked me if I need something to compensate with anger on implication that I was the one trying to be difficult. Good enough. -1 from 5.

If you are in the mood for a nice modern turn on Asian food, you will love this place. The Peking duck is their signature dish.

Enjoyed every single dish, a playful fusion take on Chinese and French cuisine. Besides the Peking duck, the fish and seafood dishes stood out. Attentive and friendly staff, nice atmosphere.

Yelp
This is an upcoming restaurant In one of Antwerp's trendy areas. The venue doesn't hold a lot of tables so make sure you have a reservation. The interior is modern and kept stylish with the soft light and candles. Once you have arrived at your table you're welcomed by a small snack of edamame , prawn crackers and a dipping sauce. The menu is limited ( which is a good sign in my opinion) and they have specials . They do a surprise tasting menu, where the chef chooses for you. We decided to choose our own dishes and had the homemade dimsum, fish steamed in soy and ginger and the peaking duck. Everything was fresh, with elegant tastes. The dumplings were light and fluffy. My fish was fragrant with a subtle taste and the duck was perfectly cooked. Crispy skin but not overcooked. I really enjoyed my diner and will defiantly return. Just keep in mind that prices are high(this is NOT your ordinary Chinese restaurant).

Yelp
This place is pretty expensive for an Asian restaurant, but so worth it! I had some of the best dim sum of my life and then a pretty great squid dish. The athmosphere good too. We made reservations through their website, which immediately tells you whether they still have tables available.
