My team and I have worked with Culinary Artistas on multiple occasions over the last few years. We could not be more pleased with Vanessa and her team's amazing work in hosting both virtual and in-person events. The cooking classes, wine tasting, and over all experience are so great for team building events of any size! Highly recommend!!

Hannah K.

Google
The 'Nailed It' offering is more like a cake decorating party, with a lot of instruction, and explanation of technique, and personal background to begin with, which was really fun! but not really like the show. The mini cakes were really tasty, and the space is clean and well appointed, and the staff were friendly, but maybe better for younger kids who need the structure?

I had a wonderful experience at Culinary Artistas. Vanessa was thorough and vibrant in her explanations of cuisine, culture, processes, and history. We enjoyed ourselves with music, flavors, fragrances... definitely a multi-sensory experience. If you love food and want to learn more about it from someone who loves food, too, this is the place for you and your kiddos.

Our family and friends had such an amazing time celebrating our daughter's 10th birthday this weekend. Culinary Artista's exceeded our expectations, everything was plug n play, the kids loved baking the cakes and the view was incredible.

Culinary Artistas partnered with HR Girlfriends for a Saturday virtual cook-a-long class for its members. What a treat! We made Udon Noodles and they were very tasty. The entire session was engaging, fun, and informative. Food 🍲 and music 🎶 is the perfect way to start the weekend. I’m looking forward to bringing the cooking event to my organization to build stronger teams and engage employees.

Google
Rented the space for our rehearsal dinner and it was fantastic - very clean and spacious with great proximity to restaurants near-by. The staff was also incredibly helpful.

Google
What an absolute joy to host our 30-person event at Culinary Artistas. They couldn't have been easier to work with -- logistics were a breeze, the pricing was super reasonable, and the space itself was super cute with every amenity we needed and more.

Google
We booked Culinary Artistas for our baby shower, and we really enjoyed the space. Pros: - There was plenty of space and seating for our guests, and there were even toys and books for the kids who attended. - The kitchen had a ton of items in case we needed something (like extra cutting knives and forks). - Really easy to coordinate with the venue and they were very prompt with answering any questions we had. Cons: - Although parking wasn't too difficult to find, it was a bit pricier simply because it's Ghirardelli Square. - A lot of random people kept walking in the front door. In hindsight, we should have taped a "Private Event" sign on the door.

Yelp
We visited this place as part of a work event. It was a great vibe, the semi-cook and serve yourself environment was great too for informal conversation with co-workers. The food was okay, I am vegetarian and left the night pretty hungry to be honest because the dinner lacked in (edible?) vegetarian options. The desert was great! The service was kind and homely.

Yelp
I recently attended a virtual cooking class hosted by Culinary Artistas. It was fantastic! The featured dish: udon paired with rosé. It all began when two days prior to the class, a package containing the ingredients and recipe card arrived at my apartment. All the items were thoughtfully packed and labeled. Chef Eliza and the Culinary Artistas team created a wonderful experience on the day of the class. Their energy was warm and welcoming. The class began on-time. And the instruction was clear and judgment-free. They took care to make sure everyone felt comfortable with the steps and never hesitated to answer questions/repeat instructions. They threw in some unexpected steps too - such as kneading the udon dough through dancing to disco music! Overall, a pleasant and memorable experience.

Yelp
Culinary Artistas space was rented by the tech startup (Bungalow) that I rent through for their monthly social event. We decorated macarons in the beautiful space for about 2 hours. What does decorating macarons mean? Well... for some people it was doing some really unique / artsy stuff, but I just painted on them with some edible gold paint and threw some sprinkles / buttercream on them. Overall it was a very classy, fun, grown-up event and I really enjoyed the location in Ghiradelli Square. Parking tip: 655 Beach Street on Spot Hero was like $10 for 3 hours if you don't want to park in Ghiradelli square.

Yelp
Completely rude people!!! I wouldn't recommend as I just wanted to inquire about taking a class and got shooooooed away with a brush of the wrist.

Yelp
We had our 5 year old bday party here - was AWESOME! kids had a blast and the place was super nice and clean and open. Parents had fun too in the front area during the cooking class - everyone enjoyed. Will definitely do this again for a kid and parent friendly activity.

Yelp
Been in touch with Rachel for a possible birthday party. The vibe and budget was great, but date that we wanted didnt work out, so I am super bummed. But I really appreciate the many emails and answering my thousand questions. I highly recommend the place!

Yelp
I recently had my daughter's 8th birthday at Culinary Artistas & it was a perfect experience from start to finish. Booking it was professionally handled. Moreover, I made a mistake with scheduling & they accommodated my needs at the last minute - i'm eternally grateful for that. The kids loved the experience which was handled by 3 ladies who went above and beyond. It was a true team building experience as well as being fun and a super special experience for the group of girls. thanks so much!!

Noemi B.

Yelp
We rented this place at peerspace 3 times already. This place became our go to place whenever we have big parties, like graduation party, 21st birthday party and just a fun get together party. Rachel the CEO is a great host and very accommodating. Everything you need to host a party is all there. The place is situated in the heart of San Francisco, very elegant. Thank you so much Rachel.

Yelp
We just had our daughter's bday celebration there this past wknd. We had a total 26 4-6 y/o kids and culinary artistas really delivered! If you are a parent, then you know that to get your kids to follow directions is like herding cats, you end up exasperated, and this is why it was so great to get the professionals involved. Upon arrival, Vanessa, the head chef, put us at ease. Most importantly, she was so effective with kids in terms of getting them involved and engaged. My daughter elected to make pizza and the kids actually got to knead the dough with a rolling pin!! Vanessa's staff are also top notch who was super helpful assisting us set up our adult area. They also worked well helping us transition from one phase (ie making pizza) to another (ie eating pizza but doing a quick cleanup in between bc there was flour everywhere! :) We rented out the front room and the parklet but the parents all wanted to see their kids in action so we didn't use the parklet at all. It was a glorious day and you can clearly see Alcatraz from street level, so the location is nice as well. Pls keep in mind that it is a heavily touristed area, so we had random people chilling out in the parklet. It's an area that is difficult to patrol given all staff attention was given to ensure the kids had a wonderful and safe time. Overall, I would recommend culinary artistas without any reservation. If you are a busy parent and want a memorable party for your kid, pls get in touch with them. Other parents who attended the party all expressed how well run they thought the party was, and how much fun it was. They also expressed that they will be considering them for their kids' next bday parties.

Yelp
We came here for a team building activity and had a lot of fun! Culinary Artistas has a really cute space - in an INCREDIBLE location overlooking the bay - and it has everything you could ever want or need to cook with. It's a bit hard to find, hence 4 stars instead of 5, but it served us well! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone else looking to cook up a storm without destroying their own house and/or having to buy every utensil, spice, and tool known to man.

Yelp
Our kids have gone to cooking camp here on a few different occasions, and always have a great time. They also try new foods that they are not willing to try at home, which is an added bonus. We decided to host our daughter's birthday party here, and I was so delighted with everything. The staff was friendly and engaging, and they take care of all the set up and clean up. Highly recommend! The only downside of the beautiful location is that parking is difficult! Make sure to leave plenty of time to find a spot!

Yelp
Taste: 5 Value: 3 Service: really good Recently did an online cooking class with this group and was thoroughly impressed! It was called Tokyo Disco Udon Making and it lived up to the name. We learned how to make hand cut udon noodles from scratch - so simple actually, just flour, water, and salt. But the cool part was we learned the art of kneading by feet, as they do in Japan. We danced on our zip lock baggy filled with dough to tunes played by a local renowned DJ. It was so fun to see people of all ages on ZOOM enjoying this part of the "authentic" experience. The soup broth was easy to make - just boil water and put all of the dried ingredients that the group had shipped directly to our homes inside for a few minutes. The biggest downside was price and lack of fresh ingredients (no egg or additional protein like tofu or meat) that could be mailed through this group. I only label that as a downside, since there are other online cooking classes that will mail EVERYTHING you need. All in all, a totally fun interactive experience that provided an educational and edible good time!

Yelp
We had a baking 7th birthday party. The quality of service was beyond my expectations. Everything was taken care of and I, as a host, didn't need to do much. The children were occupied with the fun activity throughout the time. I received many compliments from the guest parents. My daughter is now saying she wants to take more lessons there.

Yelp
My four year old attended two consecutive weeks of summer camp at Culinary Artistas, each week with a different theme. I chose Culinary Artistas based on the amazing reviews but was left feeling pretty underwhelmed for a few reasons: (1) I assumed that since each week was a different theme that the menu would be different each week. It was not, the dishes they prepared were 75% the same. (2) They require you to put sunscreen on your child before arrival and will not help to apply sunscreen while child is at camp. My four year old can't put her own sunscreen on, and if going outside happens more than two hours after drop off, then they need to reapply. Any school or camp my child has attended has always applied sunscreen, so this seemed odd. (3) My daughter would arrive at camp with a backpack containing sunscreen and a sun hat, and every day came home without them. The next morning I would let them know and the response was always "oh it must be around here somewhere". Felt very disorganized. (My child's sunscreen and hat were labeled with her name.) (4) They send you a link to a google photo album for each week of camp and not a single photo was posted. For the price of this camp it would have been nice to see what the kids had been doing.

Yelp
We recently held a rehearsal dinner at Culinary Artistas for 25 or so people. We had a caterer bring in food and we were able to use the space, and their plates/silverwear/etc. for the dinner. it is a nice space, located in a nice are of San Francisco. If you are looking for a non-traditional alternative to a restaurant or catering facility for a casual event, you should give them a call. Seating is somewhat limited, but it worked fine for our group size. The staff was great to deal with and the cleaning crew showed up as expected and took care of all the dishes and general cleanup.

Yelp
Amazing spot for our 7year olds birthday. She wanted to make sushi with her friends and this was the perfect place. culinary artistas made everything easy and seamless. Thank you!

Sowmya S.

Yelp
We had our 5 year olds birthday here where kids had the opportunity to make sushi! Every detail was taken care of by the hosts - cleaning, setup and most importantly keeping the kids entertained for 2+ hours. Both adults and kids had an amazing time! We can't wait to go back either for a camp or host a future party.

Yelp
They were amazing! did a group Udon Making Class. Was really fun and all of our guests loved the class and the final product was deliciou!

Rachel G.

Yelp
I hosted a virtual birthday party for my 10 year old.... The team and their responsiveness could not have been better... The zoom call they hosted was fun, interactive and kept the 9/10 year olds engaged for 1.5 hours (with minor parental supervision). In Covid, this team handled themselves so well. And for a Covid "party", my 10 year old was super happy baking cookies with her friends. I would say that the "add ons" were a tad expensive - but they were mine to choose, or not choose, so that's on me!

Yelp
Vanessa ran a pasta-making birthday party for my 6 yr old son and did an amazing job! The space at Culinary Artistas is spacious, light-filled, and really well suited for a fun event for both kids and adults. Everyone had a great time and it was the most low-key birthday party I have ever hosted (aka low stress for me). The kids were engaged the whole time and loved the cooking process. My son had FOUR helpings of what they made. Big thanks to Vanessa for her calm and command over a rowdy group of Kindergartners and making the day special! I'd do another party or sign up for a camp there in a heartbeat.

Yelp
We attended a 5 yo birthday party here an the activities were great. Special thank you to founder/director Vanessa Silva. Our daughter is shy about new activities and Vanessa made an extra effort to help her feel comfortable and settle in to a great event. She didn't have to do this but her efforts made a huge difference.

Laura T.

Yelp
We hosted our daughter's 5th birthday party at Culinary Artistas in August 2021. The experience was very positive from start to finish. The staff was friendly and professional, both in planning the party and on party day, and everything was well organized and executed. The kids had a wonderful time, and from a parent planning perspective, it couldn't have been easier. We highly recommend supporting this local small business for your party planning needs!

Yelp
They run a wonderful camp program for kids. My child had a great time with the team this summer! Seti was especially loved.

Yelp
My 2 kids who are 3 and 5 years old have taken cooking camps and date night events at the Culinary Artistas and they love them! The teachers are kind and engaging while the program itself is fun and thoughtful. I was looking for cooking programs for my kids because my older child has sensory difficulties and cooking was one of highly recommended activities while my younger one is a picky eater and I was hoping for her to discover love of food through cooking. I am very pleased that I found the perfect program that both of my kids love to attend! In fact they love the classes at the Culinary Artistas so much that they requested to have their birthday parties there. Unfortunately their physical classroom/kitchen is temporarily closed due to the statewide shelter in place mandate but the teachers/chefs there continue to offer great programs online. Today my son had a virtual birthday party with his friends led by Chef Eliza and it was a huge success! All the parents raved about how engaging and fun Chef Eliza has been afterwards and the kids had a great time making pancakes and fruit salads. In the sea of extra curricular activities for kids offered in SF, Culinary Artistas is a true gem that delivers quality and value.

Yelp
This place is great! The space is beautiful and huge. The chefs are knowledgeable and so friendly. The classes are fun and informative. The food made is delicious. My 3 year old son and I did the 13-week Fall session of cooking classes and had such a great time that we are singed up for the Winter session. I really appreciated that the classes were a way for me to see how much my son is capable of helping in the kitchen; he always wants to help and this class made that a much easier scenario to navigate for both of us. My son is also a picky eater and while he rarely eats the food made in class (I get to enjoy it each week instead so I know that the results are yummy) he has slowly gotten more receptive to trying new things at home or restaurants and that is partially because of his exposure in cooking class and how that has led to us talking about new foods and encountering them more often. I highly recommend the cooking classes here and think that throwing a party in the space would be a huge hit as well.

Giulio P.

Yelp
It's been a wonderful experience hosting my 4 year old's birthday party at Culinary Artistas. It was an absolute joy to work with Eliza, Laura, Chloe, Haydee, Sally and Molly. These people are fun and have loads of energy to keep up with the energy level of the toddlers. Eliza is phenomenal! You can ask her 20 different things at a time, she can process all the information and still be functional! The kids made pizza from scratch and ate them and had a whole lot of fun making their own ice cream sundaes! Peter is also great with answering any queries and replies to emails at the speed of light! Thank you once again for being such great hosts! It may sound cliched but, Go east, Go west, Culinary Artistas is the BEST!

Michelle W.

Yelp
Our 4-year-old daughter attended their week-long summer camp and absolutely loved it. She can sometimes get nervous when she doesn't know any kids in a new environment, but she expressed no hesitation when she walked in their doors. The instructor were very welcoming and all the kids had a lot of fun cooking and doing arts and crafts. They even got fun outside time each day in Aquatic Park and Ghirardelli Square.

Yelp
Vanessa Silva of Culinary Artistas is a rare jewel! Her classes are fun and engaging. The little ones have fun and learn important skills about nutrition and sustainability. I came to take photos for the group and was blown away by how kids as young as four are cooking and participating.

Yelp
Culinary Artistas has been a wonderful experience for us. My 4-year-old son loves to cook and we initially tried out Culinary Artistas because it was one the few cooking programs that teaches kids as young as 4. Because their Ghirardelli Square location was a new one, we didn't know much about the program, but we took a chance and lucked out big time. Not only is Vanessa (the instructor and the director of the Ghirardelli location) passionate about cooking, she amazing with kids and is a lovely person. Vanessa and her sous-chef Janine are always enthusiastic, have a smile on their faces and a sweet comment for the kids. I also love that the curriculum touches on foods from around the world and doesn't shy away from a great variety of ingredients and tastes. The new classroom space is open and bright and overlooks the water. The program is a gem and I whole-heartedly recommend it.

Yelp
We celebrated our daughter's 8th birthday in Culinary Artista's brand new space in Ghirardelli Square. What a great time all around! 17 energetic kids had fun while creating and eating a meal they all enjoyed. We made sushi, spring rolls and lots and lots of mini cupcakes - and somehow managed to eat it all! Vanessa and Anna were great hosts - engaging the kids, teaching good kitchen practices, and celebrating along with us. The room is bright and welcoming - and has a spectacular view of the Bay. The space is really flexible - good for letting kids be kids during the pauses in prep work. The highlight is a beautifully set, lovely wooden table where the group got to share its hard-earned meal. The pace and menu were well arranged - buffered for arrival (a real necessity given the challenging traffic/parking situation at Ghirardelli) with time and supplies for making a giant birthday card for our daughter. The cooking itself was staged over three work stations that the kids rotated between -- everyone got to help with each dish and no one got abandoned while waiting for someone else to finish a task. The staff was careful to ask about and adjust for kids with allergies - it is clear that Vanessa and Anna know how to manage kids and food.

Yelp
I've sent my three kids for classes here and we're so happy the school has come to our neighborhood. My two year old attends a weekly one-hour cooking class, and my older two have attended full day camps here. We all love it. My two year old can't wait to go back each week, explores foods we'd never think about cooking, and eats it all! (Even spanakopita!) We cook the same meal for our family every week after class! My six year olds (boy and girl), love the all-day camps and ask to go back again. The cooking teacher (and owner) Vanessa, is lovely and has so much patience for young kids and the staff are so helpful and nice too. We're excited about signing up again this semester.

Kathryn B.

Yelp
Vanessa, Eliza and her team are awesome! My daughter loves the classes and camps, and we love eating the results. They attract good people. Our daughter brings up the learnings and the stories well after the individual classes.

Mona B.

Yelp
My 4.5 year old son enjoys cooking with me so I sent him to Culinary Artistas' MLK Day Cooking Camp. He absolutely loved it. The kids made cornbread with blueberries for snack, and pasta (from scratch) with collard green chips for lunch. I appreciated that they made what they ate and I didn't have to pack any snacks or beverages. I reached out to Vanessa with a number of questions before signing him up and she was very responsive and accommodating. My son keeps asking when he can go back and we will definitely sign up for another class or camp in the near future.

Coco L.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place. My daughter attended a birthday party there, which was great. My daughter had such a great time I enrolled her in a DropIn for one of their after school sessions. She had such a great time and I enrolled her in one of the camp sessions this summer. She has already expanded her food interests to include healthier things and she looks forward (and likes to help) at dinner prep as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fantastic cooking school for kids in a beautiful, well located, easy access space in Ghirardelli Squsre. My 7 year old daughter is currently taking their 6 series class " San Francisco Classics" and loving it. Normally a bit of a picky eater, I was hesitant about how she'd like a cooking class that would expose her to new foods. I shouldn't have worried because she is having a great time with the folks at Culinary Artistas. They make learning to cook fun!
