Nevada’s Culinary Workers Union Can Propel a Presidential Candidate to Victory | Eater

"The union-operated health fund runs its own pharmacy and clinic to control costs and deliver some of the strongest health benefits in the state: workers who meet an hourly threshold receive premium-free coverage. That coverage is widely valued by members and central to political debates, though the system can be bureaucratic (members reported issues like delayed prescriptions), and leadership has insisted on protecting existing benefits rather than immediately shifting to national proposals that might risk current coverage." - Meghan McCarron

Culinary union became a part of my life submitting my 3 grievances against my Company is still on process fighting the good fight of faith! I have faith to Culinary Union , God bless everyone 🙏 In Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

I paid $430, and not even a full two months later, I got a letter saying I don't have coverage. Dont pay them, just wait til the season picks up and you're working full time again, because you'll pay to get covered, and by the time you visit a doctor, you won't be.

If you give anything but a five you do not understand how good your health insurance is. Ask people that don’t have culinary. Every in the world should be as lucky as us to receive such amazing health care. Sadly they don’t but we do. Are their staff issues? Probably, there are at your work too. Use your PTO, and your amazing insurance.

Yelp
If i could give a zero for customer service over the phone, I would. The representative I spoke to is very rude, unprofessional and knows nothing when it comes to questioning why I am not active under my husband's insurance. The answer I got is "ask your husband why you're not active" im like wow. I know my husband pays every 2wks taken out from his check for family medical coverage so I was shock when i went to pharmacy and told me that I not active under my husband. I didn't get any answer as to why or if theres anything that needed to submit so I can be added under my husband medical coverage - NO nothing but a rude ass unprofessional customer service over the phone. This people need to learn some manners over the phone and need to learn to do their job.

Yelp
My wife is the Culinary Union's primary member, so we have our medical coverage through her union membership. The Culinary Health Fund does a fine job of supporting its members with medical coverage. That said, not being the affiliate member myself, I'm not entirely sure about their "entire" function, so I am reviewing it based strictly on the name "health fund." The insurance or coverage itself is okay, nothing spectacular, but also nothing subpar either. When the Culinary Health Center opened its doors a few years ago at 650 N. Nellis Blvd., that's where I think the fund shines. If you choose the right medical practitioner(s) for yourself, this is pretty good health care overall. Maybe I've been lucky, but I feel that virtually all my medical needs have been met pretty well through the center. Nowadays, it is incumbent upon you to make sure that you receive the care you need to get the most out of "any" health insurance, not just the Culinary Health Fund. Never sit back and "accept' everything said to you without questions if you don't understand or agree. Your questions will assure you of a better understanding of your medical situation. RECOMMENDED: Yes SERVICE: Good PRICE: N/A COVID: Practices a high level of pandemic regulations. PARKING: Adequate and convenient. REASON/INTENT: Medical, dental, and eye care

Yelp
This is literally the worst union I have ever dealt with in my life. Everyone I've spoken to is really rude and unhelpful. I don't understand what their problem is. I don't appreciate being yelled at. I also don't appreciate you changing your answer 5x because you end up getting your answers on google. Which I could've done myself. If you're unhappy with your job and you don't like helping people you should probably rethink your occupation.

Yelp
Amazing experience what a great facility and staff. Thanks for the new location. Much appreciated.

Yelp

Yelp
My LORD, SMH!! The lady checking people in and asking the covid questions (TODAY) Monday, February 22nd at 7:30AM doesn't deserve a job. Yes, she DOES NOT DESERVE A JOB. Plenty of people during these circumstances that could at least ACT polite AND/ OR PROFESSIONAL; Miss Grumpy had an attitude from the first customer on... Ask the security guard, if he doesn't confirm her rudeness he is full of it. Waited an hour to beat the rush this morning, to only have a this lady tell me "NOPE, can't let anyone in that isn't here for self pay." She said it twice, giving NO solutions, basically telling me sorry your out of luck... it wasn't until after I had to stand my ground awkwardly and let her know these forms are reaching a deadline and need to be turned in today, It'll be a loss of 1,400$ if not. As if Im BOTHERING THIS LADY, she finally tells me that I "can" leave them there in an envelope, which then she literally walkover to her coworker to get an envelope and is shaking her head to her peer. As if I am an inconvenience... Lot of people in that very line of people that would GLADLY be happy to work. I recommend somebody get that lady a snickers, or a write up, just saying.

Yelp
I have to come here at least once Annually because the Culinary and my family are joined at the hip. Thank goodness that the operation runs pretty efficiently. It's kind of like a dmv here you'll definitely have to wait in line so if it's something you can take care of through the mail I definitely recommend going that route. I give 5 stars to the culinary Health Fund because they operate efficiently, the employees have always been professional and friendly to me. Thanks culinary for all you do.

Yelp
I had a conversation with Evelyn, who was able to assist me in helping my daughter apply for benefits. She was very understanding, as my daughter has had a stroke and is living in another state too. There will be additional work that my daughter and I need to get through, but Evelyn was wonderful about explaining the processes needed and estimating the timing. All in all, a great employee. Kudos to Evelyn and many thanks.

Yelp
I wish I could give -0 there horrible. What does a person have to do to get help from you guys. There no reason when I call and speak to your reps. that each one tells you something totally differnt. At tyis point just saying sorry to me is not acceptable. I will contact who and whom ever else to complain and ask for change. I did call that number spoke with Carmen who was very rude and refused to give me her supervisor name. First she said she didn't help me and there's only 4 people in her department she's been there 15 years she knows what she's doing and the other ladies been there 1 to 2 years. After telling her don't raise her voice at me. She the said she had a class to get to and she couldn't help me. After asking for her supervisor again she then changed her tone, but never gave me the supervisor name. Carmen pulled up my name and said oh yes it was me you talk to o. The 29th of June. Today is July 19 and I still have no medicine and no call back or status of. Me being able to get my meds. My number is 702-717-1523 someone needs to get back in touch with me.

Yelp
This is process I have seen here and it was honestly a joke.. You go there and there is constantly a line from open until close I went around the time they closed once and the line was almost around the building I waited 20 minutes before I gave up and went to look at the inside as I left and they had 2 people at the windows helping people and one was saying there was 200 calls. I'm glad I left and decided to go when they opened. I went when they were opening and there still was a line. Note during these times of COVID I'm not sure why they would make you COME IN PERSON to pay. Yes there is a 6 foot apart sticker son the ground they check your temp and ask you questions before you go inside to a room with 9 chairs to wait inside instead of outside. While in there there was 4 windows open and one was cash only. By the time I got to the window the woman already had an attitude and seemed like she already didn't want to be there. Luckily I paid what I needed and went on my way. If this is the punishment I get for not paying my insurance I'll make sure I pay online again so I never had enough to experience that again.

Yelp
Have you heard the good news !!! That's the latest propaganda that the Culinary Union in Las Vegas has been spreading. My wife and I paid out of pocket to be covered with our insurance for March and April and was ready and prepared to pay for May and June but our great..... ( ridiculously incompetent)... union said "Have you heard the good news " ...they reimbursed our $82 dollar payments for April and said we would be enrolled in Cobra Insurance. As of May 5th I'm unable to get my prescriptions because they say I'm terminated in the system. Almost 40 years in this union and they are still the Necessary Evil they have always been . The shop stewards are much more competent than the union representatives and still they proceed with their arrogant demeanor. Totally sick with the Propaganda they spread throughout.

Yelp
First of all they suppose to work for the Union. When they at your work location they all nice but when u come to the culinary customer service they bunch of assholes. The cashiers also asshole. They don't wanna hear no questions and aint the first time They talk to you with a fucking attitude bitch let me finish before you interrupt me with your bitch ass attitude then they say fill out paper they give you but don't give you a pen like you supposed to know where the fuck they put their pens ass and when I ask it's in front of you. Funny how they brain wash you and when u need help cuz u don't understand something basically they say on front of your face fuck your self
