Cultiva is widely lauded for its exceptional coffee program, but the real surprise is its globally-inspired brunch menu. As highlighted by Eater and the Lincolnite, their crepes—both sweet and savory—are a must-try, and the rotating specials keep regulars coming back. Cultiva’s focus on ethically-sourced beans and a relaxed, artsy vibe make it a beloved spot for locals looking to linger over a late-morning meal.

This was my first time here and I asked the barista with the nose piercing and headscarf if she could make a mocha with pumpkin spice (whatever she thought would be best) and she made me the most DELICIOUS mocha I’ve ever had! She was amazing!! 10/10 first experience will be coming back!

Literally love cultiva. The strawberry matcha lemonade and the salty Cuban have become everyday favs and their food hits. Every. Single. Time. Something to know before you go: this isn’t a Starbucks. It’s a very laid back, chill coffee shop in a college town in downtown Lincoln. New owners are very nice and they are really investing time and money into the space. It’s a fantastic place to go, enjoy amazing drinks and food, and work.

Disappointed in the Decline of Service I've been a loyal customer for a long time, but this recent experience has made me reconsider. The portion I received—particularly the potatoes—was noticeably smaller than what is typically served. As a regular, I know what to expect, and this wasn’t it. When I called to express my concern, I was met with a surprisingly unpleasant attitude. Tone and basic compassion go a long way in customer service, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. I also reached out to the owner directly and never received a call back. Thankfully, I’ve since discovered Early Bird, where the staff is friendly, the portions are consistent, and the service is what it should be—professional and respectful. They deliver what they advertise, minus the attitude. To the team here: please do better. Good food should be paired with good service, especially when customers are trying to give you a chance to make things right.

I’ve been here multiple times and will return when I can during a Lincoln visit. Cultiva is the reason I know about soy curls and have cooked with them many times, so thank you for teaching a vegan something new. If you order food, just enjoy a book or talking to friends/family because it’s cooked to order. It will be delicious though.

We went for breakfast this morning and had a wonderful experience. All of our questions were patiently answered and they didn’t rush us to order. Even though we ordered in one person was able to get their drink in a to go cup. The drinks were ready first and our number was called out with a microphone so it was very easy to hear. There is a table with utensils and condiments next to the cart for the dish return. Drip coffee was “really good”, the chai latte was “excellent”, hot Cubana had cute latte art and “the brown sugar and cinnamon complement their espresso very well”, and the iced Cuban had “super delicious salt cream”. The Johnny cake was better than expected! Great flavor and crunch. The bit of egg on the Lemon bomb crepe added “an extra layer of yum”. We were very pleased that the only bowl is gluten free and can be made vegan.

We tried the Parisian and the Matador. While the Matador was delicious, the Parisian felt like it was missing an element that could really bring the flavors together. The atmosphere also felt a bit overly chaotic, which made it hard to fully enjoy the experience. When we first walked in, we really enjoyed the jazz music—it created a great atmosphere. However, as the evening went on, the style of music changed, and it didn't quite match the vibe we were looking for. A more consistent selection might have kept the ambiance we loved at the beginning. At this restaurant, you order at the counter, pick up your food and drinks from the kitchen area, and drop off your dishes when you're finished. The heavy emphasis on self-service wasn’t our favorite part of the experience, but it’s still worth trying at least once!

This is a great place to stop for coffee and a quick bite. The staff is very helpful. Nice atmosphere. Beautiful plants 🪴.

As Cultiva Downtown customers for many years, we were pleasantly surprised at lunch today w/ their new menu & decor. Split a Cultiva Omelette w/ side of potato (serious YUM w/ the bacon, caramelized onions, Gouda & fluffy eggs), along w/ a maple, pecan pastry (yes! Pastries back again). And, of course, we had our usual - their excellently made latte. Quite the menu now - looking forward to trying many of them!

Yelp
Our favorite breakfast or lunch place in all Lincoln area. Lunch-brunch today of omelette and crepe. REALLY good.

Yelp
Friends favorite coffee place, his drink was wonderful. I ordered the (something) missile, it was a tea based drink but the tea wasn't a concentrate / brewed enough to add anything to, it's flavor was lost to the toppings.

Kenzie R.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops in Lincoln. The Barcelona is my go to - love the salty whip. The Cubana is also delicious and the food is good as well.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
It's a cute place and although it was busy, service was relatively fast and friendly. We ordered the Brekkie Bowl, the Princess Crepe, and The Big Smokey. The crepes are thicker, like a pancake texture, which I liked. We also ordered three Iced Cubanos. Even as someone who's not a big coffee drinker, I found these to be flavorful and not overpowering. The only problem is that near the end of our meal, we found a hair in the Brekkie Bowl that couldn't have belonged to any of us. It was near the bottom of the bowl too, which was somehow worse, as I had eaten almost all of it before we found it. Everything was good and I'd go there again to give it the benefit of doubt, but I'd check my food before eating next time.

Yelp
I love Cultiva coffee. They serve amazing scrambled eggs and Johnny cakes. The ambiance is Nebraska hipster.
google avatar

Rajiv A.

Yelp
Oh my my, where do I even begin with this place. My wife use to come here all the time she said when she was going to school in Nebraska and she said that I had to try it. When I took a sip of the Barcelona, it was heaven in my mouth. Every sip was full of salty and sweet flavor. They make the whipped cream icing in house and I am not sure what's in it. The crepe was also top notch in my opinion, the pesto in the crepe compliments the eggs and the ham with every bite.I enjoyed the food so much that we actually ate here twice in the 3 days we were in Lincoln. A definitely must try and you will not regret it! Staff members were very progressive and helpful in every way as well.

Yelp
Sometimes this location opens whenever it feels like without warning! The food here are made fresh. They have sweet and savory crêpes and their incredible. The portions are almost shareable, the coffee is delicious too! It's tucked away in a neighborhood decent parking!!
google avatar

Yelp
Cultiva Coffee is a neighborhood gem which we discovered thanks to Yelp. Thank you, Yelpers!!! Their espresso is rich, bold, fruity, & flavorful -- including in oat milk! My latte was so good that I ordered a 2nd one just as the 1st was nearing its end! That's how good it was! They also serve HUGE delicious Johnny Cakes: pancakes made with cornmeal that were divine! Not too heavy but very filling & fulfilling! We ordered 2 Johnny Cakes, ended up with a third as a delicious savory-sweet sandwich because they forgot something for our order & kindly gave us an extra helping. If I had one tip, it's to order 1 plate of food & share. Portions are huge & delicious! Parking is easy and service is so friendly!

Yelp
I made a commitment to try the top ten Lincoln coffee shops on Yelp. Today was a day off for me, so I decided to hit up Yelp's number one, Cultiva. I had the brekkie bowl and cubana coffee. Both were delicious and the cubana was perfect for me - a little sweet with good espresso and froth. The brekkie bowl has just a hint of spice to make it compelling and it was cheesy and the cool salsa gave it a nice contrast. The egg and avocado were also fresh and complimented the rest of the dish. I'm very happy that I stopped in today because I also got to pet Milo, a neighborhood kitty who is also a very good boy.

Yelp
We were passing through town and stopped in Lincoln for night. We found this place as a unique breakfast option to support local. The food was amazing, unique combinations, and authentically Nebraska. The salted cream that is on top of many of the sweet ones, just give me a spoon, and I will slurp it up! The only thing I would skip next time is the johnnycake, the crêpes are so large I needed more space for them. Priorities. My latte was also on point and the service was friendly, Food took a reasonable amount of time since it's made to order. The

Yelp
My partner and I went here after a stay in town (neither of us live in Lincoln). I saw this had coffee, crepes, and good reviews so I wanted to try it. It did not disappoint! The line was long and the sign said about there was about a 50 minute wait for food bur we didn't mind. I ordered a cappuccino which was very good and I got it immediately. There is plenty of seating inside and outside so we didn't have to stand to wait for our food. The food is made to order, so you get it fresh so the wait is worth it! Both of our omelette items were delicious. If you've got time to wait when the line is long, do it!

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Love the creative and delicious food. Always a fan of a skilled barista and love crepes, bowls, and the whole vibe. Disappointed on our first try as staff called in and the restaurant did not open but when they are in, they are on! Would be awesome if they took reservations for larger parties.
google avatar

Gracie C.

Yelp
Good place to eat Small place to eat it has good breakfast potato's The Johnny cakes are delicious and the service let me tell you!!! The atmosphere is amazing
google avatar

Kaitlin C.

Yelp
If you're a cold brew drinker and haven't had a Barcelona or a Dirty B (with chocolate) this is your sign. Sure cultiva also has incredible crepes and food. Great staff. Cozy cool atmosphere. Things you all know already. Top notch spot. But please do yourself a favor and go treat yourself so you can experience the magic.

Yelp
The wait is not worth the quality. I keep giving this place a chance because it used to be great but the last year it has gone downhill. This time the sausage in my crepe was burnt to a crisp, and the last time my crepe was more dry than an elephants foot and was practically a tortilla chip. The neon light that has a sign "do not touch" must be for everyone including staff because that thing has months of dust on it. The nice lady cleaning the tables used a dry towel to clean the tables so if you drop something on the table i wouldn't eat it. At least the coffee is decent?
google avatar

Alexis R.

Yelp
First time here. Got the iced cubano and it is DELICIOUS - tad bit sweet, but cubanos are meant to be sweet. Strong coffee flavor and just a bit of ice. You get a lot of coffee for your buck. It seemed like everyone was ordering the iced cubano when I was in on a Saturday morning. I also got a Parisian crepe. Nothing mind blowing, but it was exactly what I asked for. A crepe stuffed generously with banana and nutella. Coffee staff is great too; helped me out with the wifi password :) Friendly vibe in here with chill beachy music playing. I'll be back to try more drinks!

Yelp
We stopped in here for breakfast on our way out of Lincoln. What a great choice! The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. My dad ordered a mocha with cayenne pepper and I ordered a iced latte with oat milk. Both coffees were delicious and the espresso was strong. We ordered using the Build Your Own menu and got two bagel sandwiches. They were HUGE! Both sides of the bagel sandwich were loaded with what we ordered and were both freshly made. I got a plain bagel with scrambled egg, sautéed spinach, chipotle crema (vegan), and bacon. My dad got an everything bagel with scrambled egg, sharp cheddar, and andouille sausage. These were some of the best bagel sandwiches I've had. The bagels were fresh, warm, and extremely tender. The ingredients for both were made fresh, hot, and were delicious. Definitely make this your morning spot!

Yelp
First time coming to Cultiva and I didn't know what to expect but I was delightfully surprised! Not a lot of seating but we didn't have to wait long for a table to open up! I ordered a breakfast bowl and my friend and I shared a crepe. That crepe was SO RICH! My only complaint was that I didn't need more sugar and cinnamon on top. Very very good but no way could I have eaten it alone! Not your typical breakfast food but a nice variety to choose from. I've heard really good thing about their coffee, lattes, etc. but I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't attest to that! Definitely check out if you're in Lincoln! So good!

Yelp
Easily the best place I visited during my first trip to Nebraska (Lincoln and Omaha). I highly recommend the cafe au lait, it was perfect. Medium, not dark for me. Order another one to go it was that good. Also, the food is made to the side and not behind a wall which is interesting. They have nothing to hide. Quality breakfast to go along with coffee. I really enjoyed the crapes and would for sure come back if in the area. There is nothing I would change about this spot.
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
allow me to start by saying the coffee and food is delicious!! The quality of ingredients and flavors is lovely! However, the staff needs some serious training... It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out. Mind you they were not busy at all as we were two of 5 people in the restaurant. The staff seems very inexperienced and unwilling to hustle. 7 employees all just talking and standing around. Note the customer orders at the counter, picks up their own drinks, food, silverware, napkins, and water... reasoning "we would have to wash our hands if we touched plates" The only reason i gave this place 3 stars is the food and coffee. Food 5 star Staff 1 star
google avatar

Marvin C.

Yelp
Built our own breakfast bagels and ordered two lattes with oat-milk and drip coffee. Vibes in the shop are super cool and the staff is very blasé. Food was incredible and their coffee is good! Definitely coming back to try their other breakfast items.
google avatar

Yelp
Holy smokes, that was a good cup of coffee! I dropped in to Cultiva for a pick-me-up and got it for sure. My mug of drop coffee came with a free refill and I sat here for another an hour to get my phone charged up, write up a couple of reviews and plot out the rest of my time here in Lincoln. The shop is a bit on the loud side, which we solved with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Wifi worked well, power outlet was easy to find, and the coffee was excellent. And it felt great to support local coffee instead of those green siren people. I'm a fan! [Review 11373 overall, 1150 of 2019.]

Yelp
This Cultiva is, in a word, uneven. Web info not consistent re: days open. Arrival: how to figure out, is it table service w/wait staff? Oh OK, order at the cash register, after a menu can be found (it was sticky ). Cashier not very pleasant -- ok, I get it, you're young & edgy. Mismatched seating ok in a hippie vibe; not hippie is the loud speaker announcing order's ready (serving/bussing my own order, so WHY does payment tech suggest I tip 20% too late now). Food tasted good & value was pretty good, but the dining experience otherwise was off-putting, when I try to support local businesses instead of national chains. Most important is food quality, which fortunately saves an otherwise rough-edged Sunday brunch.

Olla B.

Yelp
Pesto egg omelette was amazing and a big enough portion for 2 people to share Iced chai latte was amazing tasted like Horchata Iced white mocha also amazing
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Cultiva is unassuming from the outside but when you get a hold of your breakfast, you'll soon realize why you came in. Although there was a long wait for food, they let us know that up front which was much appreciated. I had the brekkie bowl and tried bites of friends food.. everything had tons of flavor and was so good! The only reason that I knocked off a star is because the music that was playing was so irritating combined with the loud environment, everyone in the group was pretty ready to leave by the end. Next time I'll just try sitting outside so I can enjoy this delicious breakfast and coffee.
google avatar

Dale G.

Yelp
Been here many times over the years. Coffee was good, food was very good. But the patio was a dump. Dirty, with leaves and cigarette butt everywhere, windows and door glass needed cleaning. Tables and chairs were trash and literally falling apart, and way past time to replace. Come on.
google avatar

Dawn B.

Yelp
Just the smell and vibe of this place is amazing! They have our overs, lots if fun food choices, any kind if coffee drink you can imagine, theee own label and really friendly people. You cannot go wrong with this place.. you can also buy whole beans, cold brew and coke in glass.. if that is your thing. Plus it's a l'iCal small business and the people that work here eel very committed to that vision. They have three locations, this one in 11th, one by Lincoln high school where they roast their beans and one by east campus ..holdredge. . It takes a little bit more time than Starbucks. .they could use two lines..one for ordering coffee and one for food or both. Sometimes when you're in a rush to get coffee you don't want to wait forever.

Aaliyah F.

Yelp
The cooks don't wear hair nets and one has a long beard and one has long hair so if you find hair in ur food don't be surprised

Hannah T.

Yelp
Good coffee but AWFUL customer service. We tried supporting this local business multiple times but got our order cancelled or have been yelled at because the order was too large even after ordering ahead online & the night before. We told them we would not mind if it took longer but they still cancelled the order. Very disappointed. Will not be returning or recommending.
google avatar

Charles B.

Yelp
What a great place to stop for breakfast or just for coffee. Quick service, fresh ingredients, and always friendly service. Although I can get crowd, and it never seems to noisy and there always seem to be a place to sit. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the new monger having their smoked salmon crêpes. I guess not enough people ordered this item. Too bad...
google avatar

Jose A.

Yelp
Yes and we had plenty to eat although the wait time was a little long but that was an indication of how many customers were filling the restaurant. We would definitely come here again.
google avatar

Shannon Q.

Yelp
Randomly found this spot while passing through Lincoln, and it ended up being one of the best breakfasts and coffees I've ever had. I forget the name of the scrambled egg crepes I got, but it had bacon and some feta/garlic sauce in it. We also got the breakfasts bowl and Cubana with oat milk and it was truly the best coffee I've ever had, hands down. Just the right amount of sweetness to espresso. My only regret is that I don't live here to come back.

Monique G.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but I cannot. The employees seemed to be a bit rude (to one another, not to me) which was very off putting. I can't even believe the bagel and spread they served me. The bagel was soft like a hamburger bun and had a ridiculous amount of melted cream cheese in the middle (she wrapped it in foil, awful choice). It was disgusting and not edible. I don't know why it was so mushy I waited for my bagel in store and opened it the second I got to my car. Coffee was okay, not great but I've had worse.
google avatar

Jon'el H.

Yelp
Worst service, every time I have been to this establishment the service is always really slow. Today we waited over 30 minutes for our food, we had to wait so long that we had to get it to go. By the time I was able to eat it I noticed that I had 2 big flat plain pancakes with blueberries in the middle and nothing more. no toppings just 2 dry crappy pancakes. We got one other thing and I included a 20% tip for a total of $31. Not sure what I was tipping for. And why is a tip requested BEFORE service is provided? I will not be recommending this place. Sad bc I love supporting local but every time I've been in establishment it seems like I'm the one who is doing the staff a favor by being there.

Mike B.

Yelp
Love the food and coffee unique, quirky Love this place! Crepes are great so is everything else
google avatar

R. C.

Yelp
What a phenomenal place! Just when I think I've seen it all in the realm of coffee shops, this delightful gem offers up something new and unique with their savory crepes and scrambled egg crepes. Now I have never been a huge crepe fan. I have nothing against them, I just never find myself with a hankering for crepes. That has all changed, thanks to this place. And it is a cruel existence, for I may never again have a reason to return to Lincoln, NE, and am therefore doomed to dream about these savory crepes for the rest of my days. I ordered the Ranch Hand on two separate occasions, along with a Cubana (delicious, and an unexpected option in Nebraska) one morning and a mocha (the gourmet chocolate version) the following morning. Everything was AMAZING! This place is a must-go, don't wait any longer!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
We ordered takeout. We had to download a special app, which was annoying. The food took a long time, but it was still delicious!
google avatar

Thealouise L.

Yelp
Delicious grope and great coffee. The atmosphere is great and the people working are always nice. I love the crepes here and the omelette are yummy too. A great place to come on Cornhusker game days because you can hear the crowd at the stadium!
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
One of the premier coffee shops in Lincoln. This location (which is the original) has excellent coffee and crepes. Cultiva hangs it's hat on great coffee. They probably have one of the most expensive cups of coffee in town, but you get what you pay for - a high quality and delicious cup of coffee. And the staff is passionate and educated about coffee. Last time I was in the barista gave me some helpful pointers on how to best use my French press. Also, in the last year they rearranged there dining room which has made their space much more usable and accessible.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Much better food quality and customer service compared to their East Campus location. Much faster service
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
If I were the owner I would be absolutely embarrassed by the lack of quality customer service. To the man behind the counter today we could see you rolling your eyes and acting like it was such a burden to get paid to do your job. I'm sorry you're so miserable taking peoples orders. I ended up leaving because of how uncomfortable I felt just placing an order with such unfriendly staff.
google avatar

mikalah n.

Yelp
I based this review mostly on taste, hospitality, and comfortability. The staff could've been a little more inviting which is the sole reason this review is 4/5 instead of the full 5. But to be fair to the staff, I've been a barista for 3 years and I know how stressful and mentally draining the job can be so I won't be too harsh about it. I got The Dutchy Crepe & and iced latte with Swiss chocolate syrup & oat milk added. Honestly, it was the best crepe I've ever had which made up for the slight hostility I was welcomed with. The cafe itself was very inviting with beautiful decor and plenty of room and options on where to sit if you are staying in. The crepes are very good size for the price as well. I wasn't a fan of the latte but I am very picky with my coffee and wasn't aware it was made with toddy instead of espresso so that was on me. Lastly I love that if you want to take your order to go you can just grab a to-go box instead of having to ask a barista. Overall a very good place if you are looking to support a local coffee shop!

Sarah A.

Yelp
I love Cultiva. I love their coffee, their edgy vibe, their crepes, Johnny cakes, and granola... the fact that they serve Le Quartier pastries, and Sweet Minou chocolate. I mean, what's not to love? I really can't think of a single thing.
google avatar

Tiffany B.

Yelp
I may have to go here again, even though I only have one more breakfast in town. I had the Lineman crepe and it was phenomenal. The mushrooms in it were cooked perfectly, the bacon was cooked perfectly the crêpe was still fluffy it was not over done. And the spicy sauce they use in this dish was really flavorful and not just the typical Sriracha. Had a hint of sweetness to it which I really liked. They also have a couple of daily iced teas available, in addition to a number of hot tea is. I had a green mint tea which was very nice iced..
google avatar

Alicia T.

Yelp
I got The Parisian which is a banana, nutella crepe and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious (although a little sweet for breakfast, but I knew that when I chose it). A little pricey and there is a bit of a hipster/indie vibe. The building itself is cutesy and there are a variety of seating options--even a lot of places for people who come alone which is hard to find sometimes. I was able to get a metal straw from here which I have been wanting for a while but never got around to buying--so it felt good to enjoy breakfast without the guilt of using more straws. There was a lot of parking on all sides of the building so it wasn't a haste to get here. I think next time I come I'll get one of their half gallons of milk. I'll be back for sure
google avatar

Trish S.

Yelp
Yum! Everything was great. Cultiva omelette... Yeti crepe... & coffee! Next time the "Only bowl".
google avatar

Renni J.

Yelp
I love their mochas. (I am a mocha snob. Good tasting espresso, well-steamed milk, and not too much chocolate. Plus they have oat milk.) The people are always friendly and hard-at-work when I come in. Today I tried their curry bowl. It was cooked well, but it was sour spicy in a way that I didn't care for. Their crepes are always amazing!!!

Daniel L.

Yelp
One of best coffee shops around but their breakfast is REALLY where it is at! Natural ingredients and tastes oh so good.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been a regular customer of Cultiva for years and could easily write a glowing review about their meticulously brewed coffee, well crafted drinks, or delicious made to order food. A couple friends of mine recently moved to town, and it was the first place I recommended they go. Lately, however, I've been incredibly impressed with the care they have taken to keep their staff and customers safe during the pandemic. I've been avoiding going in to most restaurants or cafes during this whole thing, but finally broke down and went in to Cultiva for a coffee and a salad and was pleasantly surprised at how safe the whole thing felt. The floor had well established markers about where to line-up and where to wait for your food/drinks, the entire set up of condiments and drink mixins had been renegotiated to make it user friendly with the least amount of contact possible, and all the while the staff went out of their way to still be welcoming and friendly despite the weird circumstances. I also appreciated the commitment to carry out, as I would have felt FAR less comfortable standing around and waiting for my food if folks were seated next to me, mask-less while eating and in close proximity to the line. It'd been about 5 months since I'd been in but now that I've seen the measures they've taken to take this whole thing seriously, I'll definitely be back. The coffee and food were amazing as always, and I would recommend them to anyone.
