Google
Awesome coffee and food (we didn't have beer, yet)! The quickbrew coffee was a great option on a busier day while waiting for food. If I lived in town, this would be my regular coffee shop. We loved the vibe and mission of this place as well. The staff was warm and the space was delightful.

Cultivate is one of my Ypsi Favorites. Great place for meetings or mixers. great coffee, great beer! Light food choices to keep you on your toes. Can't get any better than that! The best part is the live music. Always amazing.

Google
The coffee and drinks here are delicious and made fresh. I did not try the food but the atmosphere here is so inviting. They connect with the community by hosting a plethora of events and have ample table space for creative as well as business needs. Bought a bag of beans to take home and those were roasted to perfection. I recommend this spot. Friendly people. You will probably have a conversation with a new person here and that is truly special.

They married my love for coffee & beer, all in a cozy atmosphere, how can you go wrong?! Was there for Galentine's Day and have heard that their Valentine's Day celebration is great too. The beer flight and pretzel bites were delicious!

Google
An absolute favorite of mine, all seasons and all year. Cultivate mixes tremendous and imaginative cocktails besides tasteful pours of the classics. It also pours an impressive list of craft staples and incredible collaborations with craft beer brewers throughout the state and region. As a community space, Cultivate plays host to an incredible and diverse slate of interest groups, from working moms to 20s and 30s video game meetups to chess novices to book clubs. It’s a place that lends itself well to bringing people together, with or without indulging in some of Cultivate’s excellent food and beverage.

This was a great place. Good coffee and food, very friendly staff, and strong community engagement. They host a lot of unique events. I'm from out-of-town (sad, I wish I could come here more often), and was thrilled to visit on doggie day.

Google
Cultivate is not only my favorite bar in Michigan, it's also my favorite coffee shop, and also my favorite beer garden. Excellent and changing beer list, expertly crafted coffee, and just a bunch of nice people running the place. Don't miss the jazz on Thursday nights!

Google
Wow, what a wonderful place. We were visiting from out of town, and stopped in for coffee. We ended up staying for hours and talking to Christian and Bekah about beer and all the local places we needed to check out. So kind and helpful. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Ypsilanti! Thank you!!

Yelp
Spent a few hours here a few days ago to catch up on some work between meetings and I had a great visit. I had already had quite a bit of coffee that day so I uncharacteristically skipped a caffeinated beverage and instead went with a seasonal special, their lavender lemonade. I was also quite peckish so I got an egg sandwich and an order of the beet lemon hummus to nibble on. The sandwich, The Egg-chillies' heel, was a "silky egg" (from a hard set mix of eggs, milk, chives, and spices from Iggy's Eggies) with cucumber, red onion, tomato, goat cheese, and tzatziki on a gluten free challah bread (gluten free folks might like to know their their default on all their food is gluten free!). I loved it! So fresh and light with all the veggies but a nice mix of protein from the eggs. The beet lemon hummus comes with corn chips and was a nice snack to have next to me to dip into while I was working for a bit after I ate. The drink was also quite tasty and beautifully presented with a garnish of dried lemon making it feel more like a mocktail than just a lemonade. Seating was super comfortable and spacious perfect for meetings, friend hangs, co-working, grabbing a bite with a book and more. They also have a bunch of board games if you want to unplug and play a bit and some seating outside for nicer days. Looking forward to visiting again when I'm in the mood for coffee because in general I'm a fan of Vertex's roasts!

Yelp
Fresh ingredients, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly staff. Big reasons why I can't wait to come back!! Strolled in on a Saturday late morning for coffee. Pleasantly surprised to see EVERYTHING IS GLUTEN FREE!!!!! Sprung for the Jam Sesh sandwich and the banana bread latte with pride flare (it's June). It was very difficult to decide what to eat. But knowing this and its AA location are close by, I'm not too upset. Outside and inside seating are pretty plentiful. Parking though....is not. Maybe park on the street but I snagged the second to last spot in their lot. Its location is tucked away just outside downtown Ypsi. It's relatively small so keep your eye out when looking for it. They're also dog friendly!!!

Yelp
All the food is outstanding everything is made in house or sourced from smaller or local establishments. It's a very open atmosphere especially towards the back area where there's more seating and many plants. The service is fantastic. I felt very taken care of, and receive great feedback on what I should order based off of my desires Sidenote... This is probably the most allergy friendly place I've ever eaten at

Yelp
I can understand people who love this place but information for me I just didn't have the best time. Their chai was what was recommended to me and it was...not good. It was overly sweet, and felt like they used some kind is syrup that tasted more like sugar than the chai spices I'm used to. The other issue I had was the service. I ordered the elder millennial toast which is avocado toast and it took 35 min to get. Apparently someone gave my order away and didn't tell me. While I did get a refund, 35 min for toast is pretty crazy. I do love the space: I'd been there before even it was Cultivate and the folks working there were very sweet and nice. I just don't think I'd come back - at least not for the chai.

Yelp
So glad to see the former Cultivate space come back to life. Food options are a little limited at the moment and the back patio isn't open yet. That said the coffee is great and there's tons of room for working but they've just recently opened. I look forward to coming back and watching the business grow.

Yelp
I had read about Vertex for their gluten-free treats recently, and had the chance to pop in on a recent trip to Ypsilanti. They were in their soft opening phase when we went, with the grand opening still to come. But I loved the laid back vibe and the variety of gluten free treats that they had. Located in the home of an old favorite coffee spot, it was a welcome change of pace from the bustle outside. I got a world peace cookie and it was the perfect size for a small treat in the afternoon. As I checked out I saw that they're also opening their zero proof bar soon. I'll be looking forward to seeing what's on their mocktail menu once it's up and running. Vertex fills a void in Ypsilanti for a great gathering spot to grab a snack and a drink!

Yelp
Still love the atmosphere and ambiance of the coffee spot but the pastries aren't as good as previous remembered. I would like to see a more robust selection that isn't completely focused on gluten-free only options. The service when I went felt awkward and a little stand off-ish. Also a little sad there isn't a cold brew but that's preferential. Overall still really enjoy the Vertex experience.

Yelp
I wish I could give Vertex a 5, but I've been several times now and have always had mediocre service. Staff are friendly and I've always enjoyed my lattes and pastries (vegan options available), but I've had a couple instances where toast (for others) took 30+ minutes or having to wait a while for silverware that wasn't given with food. I'll keep giving them a try because I'm nostalgic for the old Cultivate space, but I recommend not going if you are in a hurry. Also, very sad all of the sandwich bread has dairy or egg (I forget which one)!

Yelp
Good and fun. Can't wait til spring and sit outside. Had the mocha. Pretty standard. Nice and wide open inside. Definitely a place for working.

Yelp
I was really excited to check out Vertex's second location! They have the same great coffee menu from their first location with an additional menu of light bites to eat and mocktails. I got a really tasty Cafe Miel and tried the Elder Millenial toast which was tasty. The food has really fun names. The service is great - staff is friendly and helpful. I love their community focus too - check out their websites for all their community groups.

Yelp
DONT GO HERE IF TAKING IT TO GO. they give it to you without a lid so when u put it on it'll get everywhere and then the lid is very flimsy so putting the straw in it gets everywhere again...they don't have a trash tk out the napkins in and the hole for the straw is just a big open hole so it will get all over your car!!!

Yelp
The coffee here was so delicious the pumpkin seasonal flavor was one of the best I've had. The staff made it even better, they are easy to chat with and very knowledgeable about the coffee and flavors they are selling. The atmosphere is cute and I could see myself coming back to work and relax. My friend had to go back in to compliment the coffee they made after tasting it in the car.

Yelp
Cool spot. I stopped in in the afternoon and got a drink off of their zero proof cocktail menu. I got the Rhimes with Orange. It was unique and refreshing. I like the liberal, super friendly and welcoming vibe of the place. They have a large yard with outside seating and provide blankets if you want to just chill in the grass and board games if you want to play with friends or strangers.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in Ypsi! Their food, coffee, and service is great, and I love all of the events they host! They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Excellent coffee place. Whether you want to enjoy a coffee in the garden, catchup with friends or do some work, you can't go wrong. Excellent coffee!!!

Yelp
I love it! I was so surprised at how warm and inviting this place is. I have a gluten issue and for them to tell me that everything was gluten free felt so liberating. I did not have to worry. No cross contamination or time spent trying to find what won't make me sick. The staff is friendly and service is quick. The drinks and food full of life, love and flavor. I hope I am not writing myself out of my new go to spot. See you soon!
