Best New Restaurant Openings in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Reopened as an elegant beachside spot after a near-closure, the former Brewcoin now offers an expansive, crowd-pleasing menu consulted on by Neal Fraser—pão de queijo, citrus-tinted shishito peppers, Japanese crab California rolls, pork schnitzel—within an overhauled interior designed by Noelle Isbell." - Eater Staff

Google
Was in town for a long weekend and spent 2 afternoons here trying the beers and getting to know the fantastic staff and a few locals. This place feels like home and has a local, neighborly vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

Darrell M.

Google
I discovered this place fairly recently and when ever I am in town I stop by and get a beer. The. Beer is excellent and service is even better. The staff is super nice and when ever I randomly stop by it looks like everyone is having a good time.

Google
So stoked they are in Manhattan beach. I have loved this brewery since discovering over 10yrs ago in Solana Beach.. crave the Mosaic IPA. So good!! The Pineapple hazy was a treat! A loyal fan!!

Malcolm E.

Google
Chill local brewery, very very dog friendly. I found a spot at the bay window and commenced people watching and trying all their IPAs. Of the 6 they had on tap, the Southern was my favorite, but the blood orange session came a close second. I didn't get sloppy and kept it to 3oz pours while I read a chapter. You can conveniently order Pitfire pizza from your phone and they'll deliver to you. Even with a koozie and tip my bill was still under $20!

Google
An absolutely fabulous selection of great beer in a great location for watching the world go by.

Google
Loved the urban and minimalist vibe. Inside and outside seating. Also, loved the many delicious beer options. Great place for a small group of friends to have a few pints or a pre-date beer before you head out to dinner. VictorB

Google
Culture Brewery in Manhattan Beach was disappointing. The lack of beer variety left much to be desired, and the staff didn't seem very friendly. Not the best experience overall.

Henrique D.

Google
We had an excellent experience. Beers are top quality and service is of high standards. Junior explained to us all the tap. We strongly recommend Culture Brewing.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday and the environment was great. No lines for ordering and the location is perfect to walk the beach or pier. My only wish is they had more hazy IPA's but I would still come back.
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
Nice place to come and people watch if you're lucky to grab a seat by the walkway. Their Hazy's are fairly delicious but the other selections were just as good.

Yelp
This is a great brewery to stop by if you're in the neighborhood. We've been many times and we will be back. Staff is friendly and it's quick to get your drinks. It's a cool tasting room, with one of the walls pretty much entirely opening up to the sidewalk, so it feels very open and relaxed. Pretty much all of their beers are pretty good. Last time our group got the POG Hazy IPA, a sour gose, and a brown ale. They were all really good.

Yelp
Had a great time at Culture Brewing! They have a great selection of beers and plenty of seating. They are also dog friendly! Although they don't have food, they have a way where you can order on a QR code from Simmzey's and they bring their food right to you. My one caveat is the seats are uncomfortable. Only stools and the tables are barrels so they're at a weird height. Nice aesthetic I guess.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Such a perfect spot to just chill and enjoy some drinks with friends :) Went for the first time and was indecisive on what to try, but shout out to Ray for the help and great suggestions! Definitely knew his stuff I'm def coming back!
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Popped in after walking by and seeing that it was a lively crowd. You order at the counter and seat yourself. There's tons of art work along the walls. I'm not sure if they host any event but seemed like it does with the art. This visit, the screen was down so the menu wasn't available to view. They had it in the laptop at the counter which did make the line a little long. A large selection of beer on tap and loads to choose from. It has a cool beachy open air vibe with the bar top along the front looking out to the sidewalk. Perfect for people watching. It's pet friendly so the pooch babies can join.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
Exec summary: Pull up a stool, have a pint and people watch Located on the "upper" part of the cool pier area, still lots of good people watching to be done. The beer is NOT brewed on site. Sounds like it's outsourced and brought in. The vibe is very chill - reggae playing The area has cool cars, tourists and locals. Good place to stop for a beer as you wander the area
google avatar

Lew W.

Yelp
Great beer! Their Coastal Hazy IPA is spot on. Really nice staff. Fun vibe. Excellent spot to enjoy a pint and watch the world walk by. Cheers!

Yelp
Love Culture Brewing Co. is such a vibe. Cozy space, relaxed atmosphere, and just the right spot to wind down after a long week. The energy is good, the people are friendly, and the drinks hit the spot. Whether you're flying solo or catching up with friends, it's an easy place to feel at home. Cheers to that!

Yelp
I was happy to find a Manhattan Beach brewery. This location has been open for 3 years. In addition to tasty beers, they allow local artists to show their pieces on the walls. No flights available but the my do sell 3 oz pours so you can try a few beers for a few bucks. I had the Cherry sour, pleasantly tart, the Mosaic West Coast IPA, good hops and a smooth finish. I also had the Kveik. This is a style that can be difficult to find. Kveik yeast produces some great flavors. A little funky and a little earthy. Great mouthfeel. You can order pizza from down the street and it's delivered right to your table. I will definitely be back for more.
google avatar

Pauline G.

Yelp
This place gets it. Super chill vibes and right off the beach. So easy to grab a cold one after a sunny day or just kicking back with friends. The selection is from crisp IPAs to smooth stouts, there's something for every kind of beer lover (and then some). The space is open, airy, and filled with that effortless coastal cool energy. Staff is friendly and down-to-earth, always ready to give you a great rec if you're stuck between taps. Cheers!

Yelp
Came here on labor day and didn't have a problem getting a seat. The beers are delicious and I tried many of them. While there it started getting busy to the point no seats were available so we came at the right time. Most of the seating is at barrel tops with stools that don't have backs. Not the most comfortable seating but there are also a few bench tables as well. The barrel tables were a nice touch and some had games on them.
google avatar

Zach P.

Yelp
Fun little tap room with lots of open seating. Great variety of beer, I only had the Mosaic IPA but it was very tasty. As a beer nerd I approve of this spot.
google avatar

Sammie S.

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place but it's small and often super hard to find a place to sit or stand. Beer is good and really appreciate that it's gluten reduced. The beertenders are friendly and always let you try before you buy. This is my go to place while I am waiting for my table to be ready at sugarfish.
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
I came here while waiting for SUGARFISH next door. I tried the slow pour Pilsner, La Cerveza, and the Blond Ale. The slow pour took about 10-15 minutes to pour so just be ready for that especially if it is busy. I personally really like light crisp beers so all three of these hit the spot. It was really busy so finding a seat on the inside was difficult but not impossible. On a slower day I could see the inside being more comfortable. I will for sure be back!

Yelp
Culture Brewing is one of my favorite spots in Manhattan Beach. The space is bright, airy and open which is nice. Great selection of good beers (cans available to go, too.) Perfect spot for a time-out beer break, meet up spot with a friend or a casual spot for a group. Easy 5 star establishment, 5 stars.

Yelp
(If you're looking for a good brewery don't come here, go to Hopsaints in Torrance, trust me) So I was walking to lunch with a friend who was visiting from another city and saw this brewery, I asked my friend if he wanted to go in and have a beer, he said yes. When I walked in , there was a guy with his head down, texting on his phone... I said hello and he mumbled something and went back to looking at his phone, the place was completely empty so I wasn't sure if they were open or if we could come in and drink and I asked politely , "can we drink here?" And the guy responded with "uh yea ... it's a brewery..." (while chuckling and nodding his thick head) then proceeded to look down and lean on the counter to text ... I told my friend we're leaving, and said "this guy is fkn rude," and the thing never even looked up from his phone, he could care less that he's driving business ... I can't believe that the place was empty and that's who you have to greet your guest ... this was on a Tuesday at 12:43 pm on September 28th ... I was only curious because the guy didn't seem interested, obviously they serve beer there, but from his demeanor and empty place, I thought they were closed or not open yet. Living at the beach cities, a lot of businesses won't open till later in the day. The guy in question is a heavy set guy, prob 413 lbs, receding hairline, skin was the color of a corpse... no idea who he was texting, can't imagine anyone who would engage with that. Aside from his unprovoked rude response, the place does look modern and clean. anyway, I'm sure they could care less about my review, but for those of you looking for a good brewery in the south bay ... there are so many other breweries to try in the area. I recommend going to hopsaints in Torrance, they'll take really good care of you, the beer is amazing, the service is A+ and the food is always on point. Better than the shit service I got here :)

Yelp
I've made it a point to visit every brewery in the county. It's taken me almost 4 years but this brewery just seems to be under the radar because for a long time I didn't even know it was here. So as I'm down to only a handful of breweries left to visit, I finally came here. We were lucky enough to find street parking right in front of the brewery. The taproom was very nice and the bartender was friendly. I only got one beer, the oatmeal stout. I really wish they had a more diverse menu. It's mostly IPA's. I would've liked to see a sour, a hef, some lagers. But the beer I got was delicious. My wife's hazy tasted good too so I know they make good beer. I enjoyed the space, it had a good vibe to it. I would like to revisit and I hope that they diversify that menu.

Ognjen S.

Yelp
Best spot for a beer in MB. The service is amazing, super friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Danny F.

Yelp
Located in downtown Manhattan Beach, this open room design bar was okay. The brew and can their own beer. Yes can the beer. It's empty around 4 and gets busier through the night. The crowd is mostly older Manhattanites (40+)... locals that can afford living there. It's right next to a public parking structure so easy to park and grab a drink and go (but don't drink and drive, be responsible please). They have mostly IPA's. I don't like IPA's. So my options were limited. The ones I tried were good enough to finish but not order again.

Yelp
Awesome local brewery! The vibe is super chill, drinks are great, and the service was so friendly! I'm definitely coming back. Also, very dog friendly

Gracie G.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. As someone who recently moved to the area, this spot has become my favorite place to go and socialize and meet new people. Their beer is fantastic; and they constantly have new, seasonal beers available. Also, if you don't drink, they provide amazing cold brew, root beer and bubbly water. The people that work here are so friendly and helpful. They take the time to chat with and get to know the regulars and locals. They really make Culture what is it: a community.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
I liked walking into the open space. The art was cool to look at and a bonus for me. Love places with distinct decor. The staff was friendly and the beer was great. Showed up an hour before closing (my bad) but experience was still solid. Definitely liked the vibe.
google avatar

Merrill O.

Yelp
Can't beat Taster Tuesday! 3 tasters for $5. Whoot! Always a nice selection, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, nice patio seating. Cheers!
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
I recently came for a drink after a negative experience at a nearby establishment, and I will most definitely be back. It's a beautiful open space with plenty of seating and some delicious beers to go along with it. The crowd is cool. Staff are friendly and helpful. I may make this my new stop whenever I am in Manhattan Beach. 10/10

Yelp
The bartender working was so sweet! Gave the dogs so many treats, recommended places to eat that we could get to go to bring back, and made great beer recommendations. Love that the pints were $1 on Mondays! This place is so cute, the merch is ON POINT, and the atmosphere was so chill. I can't wait to come back and explore some more!

Yelp
I've walked past Culture on many occasions, it always seems to be bustling with activity. This past Friday (12/03) we went to support local photo artist Anne Williams, great showing by the way. I like that Culture has an outside patio which fronts Manhattan Beach Boulevard, so there is good people watching. They also have a nice inside area. The highlights include good craft brews and even some hard ciders. Pricing is on the high side, but about what you would expect for small batch brews. They also don't serve food. But, you can get some Bitchin' Sauce to help curve those hunger pangs. Overall the place is clean and staffed by friendly folks. I also like that they do feature local art. This is a great spot to work into your night out.
google avatar

Chantal S.

Yelp
Great vibes and beer selections at culture brewing MB! We will definitely go back for the casual beach vibe and fast agreeable service!

Melinda G.

Yelp
So good in every way that it matters. I highly recommend this place. Their beer selection is fantastic and all gluten-reduced, ... for whatever that's worth.
google avatar

Amalia W.

Yelp
Great Hazy IPA! The beer is great and the staff are friendly. Great open space to have a beer with the sea breeze.
google avatar

Yelp
sam and donny they gave me amazing service. The beer is so good thank you for amazing time my dog love it. I can bring him with me. Very good music good vibes.
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Went on a rainy day for a quiet drink and some rain watching out the window but it was pretty busy and really loud. With the doors closed, the noise really echoes. I tried three beers and rated them the following: Cream ale (very good) Oatmeal stout (good) Bahhh-ck Bock (very good)

R F.

Yelp
Inconsiderate staff. Blatant ignorance. Boogers everywhere. There was bat trying to echo locate the quickest way to leave. Rootbeer came straight from Popeyes without alcohol

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
I never leave reviews.... I have never been to this brewery and was unfamiliar with the beers they had. I was trying my second tasting and all of a sudden was interrupted by a guy asking me if I had a tab. Do I need a tab to taste your beer was my first thought? Second, I haven't even decided on what I was drinking and you're asking if I have a tab? Once I decided on the beer I was going to have, I tried explaining to the man why his question of me having a tab or not was out of context and rude, he could not understand and did not apologize. He continued to say no I don't understand why you are offended and why you are upset...I'm sorry but if I'm clearly tasting and trying to find what I like, the answer is pretty clear...no don't have a tab! John, do better and be more polite to new customers!
google avatar

Rebecca J.

Yelp
Cute spot , tasty beers . The line can get backed up on busy weekend days but never too bad . You order at the bar and then find your own seat . Sometimes seating is hard to find as well , but people are friendly if you ask around for extra chairs or to share a "barrel " outside . They also have fridges with beer to purchase and merch to buy if that's your thing . Another cool thing is they are dog and baby friendly :)
google avatar

Yelp
Solid beer! First off, your boi likes to throw them back, and only at the craft joints, feel me? There is a lot of competition out there with breweries, and as an enthusiast I tend to be on the harsher side with my rating. That was a translation for the non-Vatos. So, don't let this 3 star detour you! First off, beer was solid. They need to experiment a bit more, but I can see them getting better over time. They had a golden, dessert, stout. WOW. FIRE ,HOMIES. FUEGOOOO. The rest of the beer? Was alright. I'll be back, to see what they do tho. Forsure! Now, the location??? OMG... if you sit outside the view is AMAZING. Straight down to the ocean. BEAUTIFUL. The view inside? Blan AF! Now, I was already like skeptical about a brewery called "Culture" on the whitest part of town haha but man, the inside of this place needs some work. It's like minimal, but in a bad way. Just white walls. There are art pieces up, but it's all the same type by the same artist. Doesn't really add much. CULTURE, needs to mean something. I was just making a joke about the whitest part of town, I had to! Because in general the costal cities are loaded with culture (and money, and white ppl...). They already know an artist, clearly, so have them make a mural? Something that really represents who the brewery is would be nice. I look forward to seeing this branch of Culture really grow!

Yelp
During the pandemic it was difficult to enjoy a beer in this beach town and every time I passed by this place they weren't offering indoor dining or should I call it indoor drinking. The indoor decor is a bit boring but the beer is perfect in quality and flavor.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
Culture brewing is one of the most beautiful breweries I've seen. We were here on Thursday night and it was packed, but in a good way! The beer tender recommended two different beers to me and I really enjoyed both! The seven berry sour was flavorful and he mentioned that it sells out quick so it was great to try. The Encinitas hazy was a great blend of hop and haze. Great seating options for inside or outside. Easy walk to the beach or to the town/shopping areas. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Marisela N.

Yelp
Greatcatmosphere, beer sekection and service. Come enjoy a rekaxed and welcoming place
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
I LOVE the sour beers here and they always have a great selection of new and fun IPAs. Super cute vibes and the service is always wonderful. Depending on the day, it can get super loud in there but definitely worth it for the beer. My one complaint is the dog hair all over the ground, as they allow dogs of all sizes. Definitely have to take my allergy medicine before going.
google avatar

Scott Z.

Yelp
I adore Culture. I totally do. So many beers, hard seltzer and other libations to choose from. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas. A friendly staff. Pretty darn good prices for great beers....but..... Obviously the parking in and around MB is for sh$t. Meters, structures, and sometimes lack of any parking makes life a little tougher for these awesome businesses. The other half-star knock is no food. Granted they have chips and dips for sale, but no apps, no real finger food and no menu. Okay okay. They don't have a kitchen they have beer casks. But the one time I called in an order to Pitfire and walked a pizza to my friends and I, they kinda gave me a bit of a hard time for eating it with their beer in their outdoor patio. Still. 4 solid stars and amazing beers. But food....a man needs to eat!
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
Culture Brewing is a cool new brewery near the Manhattan Beach Pier. It's a good sized spot with indoor and outdoor seating. There's a bunch of beers on tap. I tried the Seven Berry Sour and Raspberry Coconut Cream Ale. They were both super good! You can choose from 3 different sizes. I would recommend this place to other people!
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Dropped in on a Friday evening with a buddy to try the place out. Met a friend who was doing the same. Chatted for a while, drank some pretty good beers. Service was good and there was enough seating for the guests at the time we were there. I suspect that as the crowd grows the seating becomes a problem. Any way, I'll drop in from time to time as the place is clean and not over priced, the clientele won't hurt you eyes as well
google avatar

Raphael P.

Yelp
Really cool brewery near Manhattan Beach. Place is spacious and service was kind and let us sample the different beers before buying. They have a seltzer option also. Lots of seating and fun with a group, go for the great vibes.
google avatar

Allison L.

Yelp
Great local brewery supporting community events and if you come on Thursday evenings there's a good chance you can get yourself a tech bro boyfriend lol
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
Best Brewery in South Bay! And if you are lucky you be served by Donald, Jr. , or Kelly!
google avatar

Smrithika A.

Yelp
This brewery on Manhattan beach boulevard is a must do if you are looking for a casual spot for an afternoon or late evening. They have plenty of Covid friendly seating outdoors and also some seating indoors. The beers are really good with the standard choices of sours, IPAs and dark beers. They do offer samples so you can try before you buy. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They also have some cute apparel on sale within the store. There is also plenty of street parking and public garage parking right behind this spot. They have only been for a little over a year but had been closed due to Covid - give this spot a try if you are looking for some good brews!
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Had 1 beer here with my sister and it was a delicious Hazy. Close to the beach so an easy walk after sunset! Has some window seating and outdoor seating as well!

Jon T.

Yelp
On Tuesday they have a very good tasting special where you get three flights at discount. If you really enjoy beer, it one of the better places in the South Bay that offers craft brews.
