Google
Great place if you're looking for vinyl. Very eclectic: rock n roll, jazz, bluegrass, classical, country. Pretty much just about anything.

While visiting Toledo, we decided to stop in and try a new record store. This is a great shop with a lot of great choices and friendly staff. Unfortunately I purchased a pre-spun record and later found out after my trip that it has a very deep scratch in one of the songs.

Google
One of my favorite record stores. They’ve got a little bit of everything, and you’ll probably end up leaving with more than you planned to. It’s way bigger than it looks—there’s a whole room off to the side that’s not even pictured. Cool place, great staff, and everyone who works there has great taste in music. If you’re going for Record Store Day, go early. Like, crack-of-dawn early. I showed up around 9 a.m., and the line was already wrapped around the parking lot and spilling onto the sidewalk. The Swifties here don’t play—they were sold out of Taylor Swift’s RSD album by the time I got there.

Google
I called to ask about an event that they were hosting next week, and Micheal was extremely nice and helpful. He helped me preorder an album, and when the call dropped he was extremely nice about it. Prices were great, would absolutely recommend!!

Google
What a great selection of records of every size and taste. I found records I liked from $40 down to a buck. They have an amazing rating system for pre-spun (used) record and prices to match. They had the turntable I was looking for in stock. The AT-LP60XBT by audio-technical in red. The expert staff set up the table so it will be plug and play when I get home. I highly recommend you include Culture Clash in your next trip to Toledo. They now have some holiday records in stock both new and used.

Google
Culture Clash was an incredible place with incredible people, and my mother was able to get good value for her records at a time she needed to make some space in her home. They were realistic about value and resell, and let her know what could be offered, and when I heard the offer I was very pleased. They will make their share to keep themselves in business and my mother gets some money to help her pay expenses, while music lovers get some harder to find Hendrix and Classic Rock albums in vinyl. I hope everyone wins!

Google
Awesome record store! I visit record stores frequently and in pretty much every city I visit, and Culture Clash is the best I have seen in many years. Spacious, clean, clearly marked sections with clever titles. Priced fairly, which in 2024 seems to be more and more uncommon (most are so expensive!). Can't wait to go back and spend time there!

Google
What a vibe!! I got the opportunity to perform here for a Toweedo 4/20 event, as well as Record Store Day..fulfilling a dream to rock with a live band, gained a ton of new fans. Like any lover of music, I took the opportunity to crate dive and came up with some real goodies. The people who work here are authentic and as awesome as can be. Toledo is lucky to have such a place!!

Yelp
I came here as some of the local influencers were posting about saving this record store. I didn't even know a Toledo had a record store. I came to the event with lots of different genres of music playing in the room next to the actual store. They have a huge selection of music. Even foreign music in their native language. I was wowed by this place and can't wait to check it out again.

Yelp
Cool store! It seemed like there was a separate room for in store concerts and jam sessions. I love that you could listen to an album before making your decision, in store. If I could make one suggestion -- the staff wasn't as welcoming. Didn't even acknowledge that I came into their store until 30 minutes later when my fiancé showed up.

Yelp
I have been to a lot of vinyl record stores in my travels. Culture Clash is one of the best if not the best I have been to. This record store is organized with every category of vinyl. Psych Rock , Metal, Classic Rock , Jazz, and everything else. Great ( the best I have seen ) in Metal and Psych Rock. I found groups that other record stores say never heard of them. John ( the record guy ) had an extensive knowledge of every group I asked for. The prices are great. I seen a few albums priced here that are $15.00 less than I have seen at other record stores. In the last week I have been to 5 record stores in different states. So here is the spin ( no pun Intended) this store by far is the best I have seen. Organized, categorized, priced right. Also knowledgeable staff, John. Yelp has a discount cupón when you check in, they honor that cupón. If you collect vinyl make the trip to Culture Clash. You will be glad you did.

Yelp
What a great spot for finding all kinds of vinyl. Located downtown and easy to find. Many genres both old and new. A great bargain section full of vocal gems some long forgotten. They have all your needs in any budget. Looking forward to searching again.

Yelp
I needed help finding a new needle for an old Empire turntable. They were awesome and helped me get the right needle. Thanks! Love my turntable.

Yelp
I stopped in during my traditional record store crawl whenever I travel. Culture Clash is a top level store with good selection, good quality, and good prices. I wish they would have more 45s and sorted better. The atmosphere is as funky as you would want, including the staff. I will visit here again whenever I'm in Toledo.

Yelp
Not the same since Pat died; especially now with the location change. You can still find some gems, but the vibe is defiantly different; not as homey. Would recommend over any big box store!

Yelp
Really great little gem. I had no idea what to expect but left out seventy five bucks and with a bunch of albums that I'd wanted in my collection. So I'm not too mad at culture clash. Here's a little run down of culture clash: The used section is great. The prices are below a lot of listed prices and the condition of the albums are also wonderful. Was very pleased. Make sure to dig through the 3.99 stacks by the entrance; there are definitely some gems there. The new selection is good but not outstanding. There were a number of albums that I expected to see but didn't find. I'm not sure if this was actually culture clash or the fact that it was the week before Christmas. Nonetheless, slightly dissapointed. Also, some of the prices were a little steep for the middle of ohio. They also have CDs, if you are into CDs. Service was great. Lots of friendly people working there. They also have some vinyl equipment there. Overall, culture clash is great. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
I'm in the Toledo area every couple of weeks for business so I try to hit a couple record stores each time. I'd been to every where else I know of prior so I finally hit Culture Clash today. If I know anyone in the future who's traveling through the area but only has time to hit one store, I'll tell them to just go here first. Excellent selection of new and used CDs, tapes and LPs in a small space. The guy working there during my visit was very nice as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the pricing on the pricing on the used LPs too. One example is a Slade record that I've seen around my home area stores from time to time but never purchased it because I always thought it was over priced ($10-$15) and pretty beat up, I found it at Culture Clash in better shape than I've seen it recently and it was only $4. I'll be stopping by here each time I'm in the Toledo area in the future. I may stop by the others but I know I'll be certain to hit here first.

Yelp
Excellent record store. Friendly staff and a fantastic selection of all genres. They also sell new and used stereo equipment. Definite stop when in town

Yelp
A good time ! Happy RSD 2 ! Thanks.

Yelp
This is a really fantastic local record store. The selection skews heavily toward new vinyl and indie rock, but there is a quite a good selection of used vinyl as well, and all the other standard musical styles (classic rock, hip-hop, country, experimental, classical, etc.). Prices I found were generally very reasonable and they carried all the more obscure labels within their new selection. I was able to pick up three new LPs there that I had been looking for at several record stores with no success. Another bonus on used vinyl: the staff very conservatively grades both the disc and the sleeve and writes the grading (NM, VG+, etc.) right on the sticker. I checked a few of the used records I bought and I actually would've graded them as better than what the staff did, which is great. All in all, highly recommend this place when you're in Toledo.

Yelp
Recently got back into collecting vinyl. This is a dangerous place for me to have so close to my home. They have the best selection around. I will be spending a lot of time and money here.

Yelp
Why the hell do I even need to write a review? This place. Is fucking. Awesome. That's literally all I need to say, don't believe me? See for yourself. Locally owned and operated, and taken care of with love. Also helps that everyone working there is cool as fuck.

Yelp
The concept of physical media is so foreign to me... it's been so long since I've even held a CD in my hands but a week or so ago I needed some last minute tunes for an event I was helping throw. My only problem was I only had a vague idea of what sorts of tunes I should buy. I popped into Culture Clash on a thursday and told Shane what I thought I was looking for. He immediately had the perfect suggestion and ordered me some CDs. THE NEXT DAY he called me, and let me know the CDs were in... just in time for my party! Thanks goes out to Culture Clash and their most excellent and helpful staff. They almost make me want to take my record player out of storage.

Yelp
Great local store! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Great selection of music and I always find way more than I can afford.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't pop into this store nearly as often as I should, it really is a cool place. Prices are more than fair on most selections, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the selection of used records is amazing. Knocking off a star simply because the selection of new records is a bit of a hit or miss. If possible I'd have went 4.5 stars.

Tristan R.

Yelp
Incredibly kind and helpful staff. I'm glad I heard about this place on Beautifully Anonymous.

Yelp
Stopped by this fine establishment after getting a massage from Simply Massage next door. I've heard such great things about this place and was proud of myself for finally...FINALLY...taking the time to stop in after months of passing by it. There's something about perusing through old records (and new) with my finger tips that I find oh-so-incredibly fulfilling. Was welcomed in with genuinely friendly faces by two gentlemen who were beaming with passion for music. And they left me alone. They didn't bother me. They didn't ask if I was looking for something in particular. I appreciated this so much. Because they allowed me to get lost in the store. To find what I didn't think I came there to find. Walked out with The Doors and CCR vinyls. Can't wait to return for a whole new experience. "Like" them on Facebook! They update frequently with giveaways, in-store live band events, new vinyls, specials, etc.

Yelp
Typically a good selection and pricing is hit and miss on used vinyl. I will say that I each visit I am amazed that there are still people selling off collections and that Culture Clash gets some gems. Great place, great staff.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
I was referred by a friend and I was not disappointed! The organization and surplus amount of used records was better than any record store back home in Columbus. I was able to walk out with Moving Pictures by Rush and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles for under $25. Both are in great listening condition! I will be stopping by Culture Clash every time I come to Toledo!

Yelp
For record enthusiasts, an owner and staff that adores music like I do is a must. Owner Pat OConnor has been in the record business for decades. He always treats his customers with respect, whatever music you're looking for. Knowing him as long as I have (25 years!), he knows my taste and is always ready with a suggestion of a classic I've never heard or a new artist I'd enjoy. They have a lot of used vinyl at reasonable prices. They will buy, sell, or trade. Plus, they always have the well-reviewed new releases on both CD and vinyl LP formats. If you need a turntable, Pat and his staff can help you find a used or new one in your price range. They also have reasonably priced used stereo equipment from stereo amplifiers to high end speakers. So, if you have a music itch that needs to be scratched, check out the good folks at Culture Clash Records.

Yelp
I always look forward to my visits at Culture Clash. The staff is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them to anyone. If they do not have what you are looking for, they will order it. They have the best customer service out of any record store I have been to. Everyone get out and support your local independent music store!
google avatar

Maddi M.

Yelp
Bought a record and went to return it, but was sadly disappointed that they have a no-return policy. They also didn't have a very good selection of records for people like myself. The record that I bought (the only record I could find that I would genuinely enjoy) was a live record, which I did not want. The record didn't say "live" anywhere on it, I found out when I played it for the first (and only) time. I had to drive to Allied Records to exchange it.

Kerri T.

Yelp
Been going here for years. It's a cozy little shop with tons of records, CDs, stereo equipment, etc. I always leave with an awesome new vinyl.
google avatar

Craig G.

Yelp
Nice selection of records. The ones I looked at were in good condition. Some of them were overpriced but most were fair. Employees are sub par. The appearance was that of high school drop outs or just slightly better. It was comical watching one guy try to fix the listening station turntable. Watching someone randomly press every single button on a receiver and turn all the dials as troubleshooting is amazing.
google avatar

Bobby S.

Yelp
It's good to see that Toledo can support more than one independent record store. Culture Clash is run by many of the people who worked at Boogie Records (R.I.P.) back in the day, and keeps the Boogie ethos going: great selection, nice people, an all-permeating scent of patchouli and incense. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Gary V.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent music store. Their vinyl selection is vast and is broken up between new and used vinyl. That is always a plus for me. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They also have a nice selection of used and vintage stereo equipment. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
My absolute favorite place to go for music. Great selection, friendly and knowledgable staff. If you want something that they don't have in stock they can find it for you if it's available and usually faster than anywhere else I've ever gone (including ordering things online myself). If you love music, this is a great place to go.

John C.

Yelp
Culture Clash is the best record store I have been to. They have a great selection of vinyl, new & used. Especially Rock 'N' Roll and Indie stuff. A great atmosphere, and a tremendous staff that is knowledgeable and very friendly. If you like music and records, and you're passing the Toledo area then you should stop in.
google avatar

Aaron M.

Yelp
Great store. I've got pretty high expectations from record shops, as I spend a fair amount of time in Detroit shops, but Culture Clash kicks it with the best of them. I'll be back.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
I stopped in here while visiting from Chicago and was very impressed! It gives the Chicago records stores a run for their money. Also nice to know it's the red headed stepchild of Boogie Records (RIP), as I was a fan back in the day and would love to keep supporting them. I'll definitely be stopping in here each time I come to town!
google avatar

Nick O.

Yelp
Meh, every used LP that I was interested in buying was 2-3 times the price that its actually worth, and the place was crawling with Hipsters.....
google avatar

Ricky R.

Yelp
Really good vinyl collection and extremely friendly staff.
google avatar

Dustin B.

Yelp
the last record store I reviewed was in Philly. And it was bad. This place is exactly opposite. Awesome new and used selection. Staff is great. It's not dark and scary inside and they even have a huge selection of new and used equipment. Found 2 used albums that I've never come across before plus a new one. Good times. I'll go back next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
Huge selection! Friendly staff! Rare records! If Pat doesn't have it he can find it. I can spend hours in this store and never see all of the records they have. Great knowlegde of music and record players. Great buttons and stickers as well. the pricing is on point and I never feel like I am over paying. I have been going to Pats shop for yrs even before they moved. Love these guys.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
I lived in Chicago and now live in Columbus. Both cities have some great record stores. However, this is the best record store I have ever been to. Their Used vinyl is awesome. I have found a lot of early 90s stuff from here, which is very hard to come by.
google avatar

Kaleb W.

Yelp
Such a great selection and very helpful staff. Once I went there and he was closing early for a business meeting and he let us shop anyways for a while. It was a really cool move and I ended up getting some great records. Very cool store.
google avatar

Bridgette P.

Yelp
Great staff. The cutest little Corgi waddled over to greet me as I walked in. Found exactly what I was looking for at a great price. Plus the clerk threw in some really high quality posters of the artist I purchased for free. Definitely will be back to this place. Clean, well lit and friendly.

V L.

Yelp
Its a good record store for sure. But the staff is a little arrogant. Young girl working there very pleasant and the owner is alright. The other guy with glasses is OK but a not that interested. Prices a little high, selection pretty good. Overall they know how to run a record store. But I didn't feel they cared if I spent $100 or walked away.

Ian S.

Yelp
This is currently my favorite record store, they always have the newest indie releases on cd and on vinyl as well as obscure psych reissues and comps that I thought I would never find. The staff is definitely what sets this place above the others in the area, they are extremely friendly and are willing to give you an honest opinion on an artist or album. All of the staff is extremely adept at steering you towards something they think you might like based on past purchases. Yes they'll actually remember and ask you if you liked the album you bought the last time you were in. If they don't have an item in they will do whatever they can to get it for you. Besides the music on the shelves they regularly host in-store appearances by local and national bands. I make a 45 minute drive about once a week and it is always a worthwhile trip. A great musical location/education.
