Wonderful place to visit on a Friday night. Good music. A art display to view between sets. Bar for drinks. Nice evening!

Great community space. Free Jazzy performances on Fridays in the warmer months. Beer, wine & soft drinks available and free pop corn! Some outdoor seating and a couple food trucks outside. Low cost cool fun. Loved it and will return!

Culture Lab is a awesome place. They had exhibits of swords and armor. They also had a concession stand as soon as you enter the building and they had concerts and concession stands outside in front of their building. Will be back to culture lab to check out the other concerts.

Today was Indonesian Day, celebrated with a vibrant Pasar Malam New York at Culture Lab, LIC! The festival was alive with the aromas of Indonesian specialties, Malaysian delicacies, and Southeast Asian treats — rendang, nasi bakar, satay, kuih, and more. On stage, music and dance created an atmosphere of joy and pride. Inside, I explored the exhibition “Clashing Steel: The Art of Stage Combat” — rows of rapiers, broadswords, and armor showing how theatre transforms weaponry into storytelling. It was wonderful to see not only the Indonesian Consulate (the host) but also the Consulates of Malaysia and Thailand supporting the event. I had the pleasure of taking a photo with our Malaysian consular representative 🇲🇾, and — by chance — I reconnected with two Malaysian friends I first knew in Singapore back in 2010. Through them, I met two staff from Resorts World here in New York. Such serendipitous reunions reminded me how our Southeast Asian networks travel with us, no matter where we are. A day of culture, food, friendship, and unexpected connections — truly unforgettable.

I attended an event that had rented this space. It is very clean, well lit, everything with the space seemed to be working well. It is in a complex that faces a parking lot. My only suggestion would be better signage as to where the entrance is at. (Hint: look for the blue door)

I was invited to watch the new movie: dangerous animal at the culture lab LYC. It’s such a great location to host to open an outdoor event like this one that I just been. Also, inside I took a peek of the gallery super cool art collection they have.

What an amazing space. The exhibit we saw on stage combat was very well curated and the tour was well lead. There are multiple theater and art spaces and i love their commitment to the community, extending to serving local beers in their bar.

Best thing that ever happened to this bedroom community. Unfortunately the only one we have. But excellent menu with Jazz Friday’s and concerts on the lot in weekends. Excellent varied art exhibitions in the gallery. And much much more. A big thank you to the owners/organizers. Hugs …

This place is always a great time. There's events that they have in the parking lot that are free. If there's a food truck obviously you have to pay. The art gallery is so cool. They switch it up every now and again. It's a recommend donation but not required. They do a lot for the LiC area. Some of the art work is not for children so if you're easily offended please do not come. Their recently had an art displace that was interactive and super cool. They have a room in the back area where they have little events or readings. I've never come across any rude staff members everyone's usually super polite. It's definitely a great value for your buck because there isn't a payment requirement. I appreciate that everyone here is super quiet while you walk around the gallery. When I asked for a bathroom the staff was kind enough to show me where it was, that was super delightful. I recommend this place to anyone in the area. Their recent halal fest was amazing.

I went to the Taiwan Fest at Culture lab and absolutely loved it. It wasn't huge so not as overwhelming as other food spots but just enough of everything that reminds me of Taiwan. The food, music, outdoor and even vibe was awesome way to enjoy my day. Price was a bit on the higher side but the taste of everything brought me back to as if I was eating in Taiwan.

So glad I tripped upon this place tucked away in a very busy, artsy, cool spot in Long Island City! I came here to see "Shattered," an art exhibit focused on mental health. Not only was the art edgy, interesting, thought-provoking, but I discovered this place has so much more to offer! It has a small bar inside, so you can get canned drinks, wine, water, etc. as you peruse the space. The employees are very kind and welcoming. There is a small theater here for live performances. They also have a few spots for live music, indoor and outdoor (four stages total). When I visited, there was a musician playing tunes and cracking jokes on the outside stage. There was also a food truck setup. They also have "culture lab after dark," which I would really love seeing. They have comedians, live music, drag/burlesque shows. Culture lab also puts on festivals, educational talks, workshops, and more. Their mission is to contribute to the community in a meaningful way. Culture lab is located in a spot right across from one of LIC's breweries. It's also a short walk from many great restaurants and public spaces downtown, so you could make a great LIC day of it! Oh, and it's pay what you wish . . . though hopefully you're able to contribute to this awesome operation.

I came here for a "get to know your neighbors" event my building was holding. I didn't really meet any neighbors but I'd not been here before and this is the type of underground community fixture that's right up my alley since they have unique art, an ambiance all its own (you enter through an outdoor parking garage) and the people in charge were very nice when I had opportunity to speak with them. They had an affordable art fair going on at the time that was absolutely worth it and made me wish I had money and wall space for more art. These are only a few of the pieces I liked enough to get pictures of. I was invited to come back so when my life gets less crazy and possibly when I get someone to come with me, it's definitely a planned destination I'll be returning to. If you like music, art or theater, this is definitely a venue you should know about.

This is an inviting, mixed use art and community space in LIC. They have two small galleries, as well as a few multipurpose rooms for other events and activities. The employee at the front desk was warm and welcoming. We came on a Sunday afternoon. The exhibits were free and there were very few people there. We enjoyed the Ken Butler pieces. I'd love to come back during the summer when they have more artists and shops showcased in the parking lot. It seems like a nice, unique place to celebrate art in all forms.

Great free exhibit. Took about 10 minutes to go through it all. Nice stand up and speakers with tons of people. Luminous was a great neon light exhibit. So colorful. Loved hearing the buzzing. Probably 50 pieces. Inspiring work!

This place is such a vibe. Come here 7pm onwards Thursday to Sunday (5pm from Saturday and Sunday) for free live music in the summer months! Rotating selection of local artists that play jazz, blues, folk etc. You'll be chilling in the parking lot with plenty of space to sit on their provided folding chairs. Anable Basin has a small shop in a container in the parking lot where you can purchase beers, nachos etc while you watch the live free performance. In the warehouse there's an art gallery that opens around the same time as the live free music. Check it out for some local artistic flair. Highly recommend this as a free date spot, or a cool place to chill with friends. Also, seems like you can BYOB and food too.

Found out about a free neon art exhibition and came to the Culture Lab! It's a cool gallery, not necessarily the nicest, but had a lot of fun stuff. On the night we went there was a stand up comedy show going on, a lecture, and the neon exhibit. It seems like they do a lot of cool stuff here! The people working at the front desk were super kind and helped us find the free exhibit we were looking for.

This is an incredible place. They do so much for artists and the community alike. In the summer, they have free outdoor concerts. They also have a gallery inside and sponsor several artists through the years. Definitely check them out!

I'm most familiar with the culture lab for their music venue, but they also have incredible art galleries!! The culture lab is such a wonderful nonprofit. They gave nyc musicians a place to play during the pandemic when no Other Venues could accommodate! The vibe of the place is spectacular. Pull up a chair and enjoy a frosty beer from the bar and awesome food right across the street! Certainly a great spot to check out.
