"Being more or less surrounded by Ontario's fertile Greenbelt, many shops and restaurants in Toronto have strong ties to and relationships with the farmers and communities that raise and grow the foods they source. Cumbrae's is no exception, featuring a wide selection of high-quality, locally-sourced meats, cheeses, and more. Find everything from dry aged beef to mouth-watering prepared meals, sauces, and preserves. Cumbrae's also boasts an impeccably-designed interior with branding and packaging to match, all done by local studio Blok Design. If you're looking to pick up dinner on the way home, we recommend the beef short rib lasagna or pork confit and truffle mac & cheese." - Kindred Studio

Cumbrae's is more than just a butcher shop; it's an experience. The store is beautifully designed, with sleek counters showcasing the most exquisite cuts of meat. The star of the show, of course, is the meat. Cumbrae's offers an impressive selection of aged meats, each more mouthwatering than the last. The beef is particularly noteworthy, with perfectly marbled steaks that practically melt in your mouth. And let's not forget the sausages – a flavour explosion in every bite. But Cumbrae's is more than just about the meat. They also offer a fantastic selection of sauces, stocks, and prepared foods, perfect for a quick and delicious meal. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to offer advice on the best cuts and cooking techniques. While Cumbrae's may be a bit on the pricier side, the quality of the products and the overall experience make it well worth the investment. If you're looking for the finest meats and creating an unforgettable dining experience for your self, family or special someone, Cumbrae's is the place to go. While Cumbrae's may be a bit of an indulgence, the quality of their products and the exceptional service they provide make it well worth the price. It's a place where you can truly appreciate the art of meat, and every visit is a culinary delight.

A great butcher that has in my experience consistently strived to do right with customers and the quality of products they output. Had a bad experience with them once earlier in the year which caused me to walk out of the store with 5 pieces of meat with 1 which was unknowingly of a much lower aesthetic quality. After contacting them, they were swift in organizing 2-3 different ways that they were willing to make things right and each was honestly more than amazing! Will continue to shop here!

Best butcher in the city, offering specialized cuts (yes you can order ahead, or have it delivered) of high quality meats that are locally-sourced sustainably from small family farms and their own farms in the region. Also check out their prepared cases, where there are handmade meat pies, lasagnas, shepherds pie, soup stocks, sauces, and cold cuts. The staff take pride in what they do and are always friendly and engaging, and happy to answer questions or share knowledge on the products they offer

I order online for my pantry necessities but come in here when I need lamb, aged beef etc. I love coming in here and the Staff are all amazing, bought sardines, duck fat, lamb, tahini and moutarde supplies.

This has to be one of the highest quality butchers I’ve ever been to, anywhere in the world. The quality of all meat and all products sold here is spectacular (cold cuts, prepare dishes, cheeses, etc). We bought a piece of lamb - we’ve never every lamb before. We put it in the oven to braise for 3 hours: no salt, no spices, herbs, nothing. The result: the most delicious piece of lamb I’ve ever had. It’s not the cheapest place ever, but it’s one of the best ways to spend your hard earned cash.

The meat was underwhelming (8 wk dry age rib eye, filet mignon). Had had same from Costco minus the price. 1 star for their tiramisu. It was heavy on whip cream, with no hint of mascarpone… Disappointed 😒.

The steak sandwich stands out... classic on point flavor... love the concept of a butchery and a deli...

If you're someone looking for a gourmet experience and wanna try anything other than a typical sandwich joint, than Cumbrea is the place for you. The flavors were subtle, prices a little steep (everything IS made from scratch, fyi) but it was all worth it. I would suggest you avoid the lunch rush over the weekend, since it gets fairly crowded. My personal recommendation, would be a dry aged beef sandwich and their buttermilk fried chicken. Will be back for the ribs soon.
