Google
In my humble opinion the best Indian food in Santa Rosa. The guys working the restaurant are all very friendly and helpful. It’s a simple restaurant that’s very much hidden away. I’ve had a variety of curries and found them to be very good. I haven’t tried any tandoori dishes. Definitely will be back again to dine in. Prices are very reasonable.

We visited this restaurant on the way back from Glass Beach in Fort Bragg for dinner. As one can imagine after 2.5 hours drive on windy road on CA128, the stomach was all well twisted and ready for a heavy dinner to finish up remaining 1.5 hours drive to get home. We were greeted by Amrit (our server) with a smile and he arranged a table for us. We ordered a lot of food but the highlight was Daal Makhani and mango chutney; I don’t think we had that good of Daal and chutney ever before in Bay Area. The service was top notch, especially, the timing and gaps between the appetizers and main course was well balanced. The ambience was very calm and quiet. Anytime in future; if we will be heading up north from Bay Area this restaurant will be our all time favorite stop to grab a lunch or dinner. Thank you so much Cumin staff!! And… we were so hungry that we forgot to click food pics …

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I had an amazing experience at Cumin Indian Nepalese Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. Every dish was fresh, well-presented, and reminded me of home-style cooking with a fine-dining touch. The service was excellent, and I especially want to mention Binod, who went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. He was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations from the menu. It really showed that he cares about the guests and their satisfaction. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, perfect for both family gatherings and casual dining. Everything felt very clean, comfortable, and inviting. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Indian and Nepalese cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Google
A great place with great taste! Most of the restaurants fail to prepare the Gobi Manchurian the way I ask but this one did it! Not much, I just ask for the dry Manchurian so that it won't become soggy and looks like curry. The waiter listened and prepared it dry and crunchy. He was a great convo starter asking about our preferences and checking on us about the taste. Even the Chana Masala was good.

Google
It was an average indian restaurant. Many Indian food choices are available here, surprisingly Indian food got fried rice, I guess this has been localized, overall the price is acceptable. Service is good. Visit during dinner time, surprised not many people in the restaurant, I believe mostly they are doing take away orders.

Google
Food was so good! My new favorite spot for Indian. It's tucked away behind the Flamingo and you would never know it's there but it's worth checking out if Indian cuisine is your thing. Prices are good and the staff was nice/friendly

Google
I purchase food last night butter chicken curry lamb. And a goat Curry that is for my lunch today honestly the chicken and the lamb was ok I had that for dinner last night.however at 2 pm today I tried having the goat Curry for my lunch I was super disappointed the mead was so tough and under cook there was still blood inside I could not eat it I had to dump it in the garbage which left me without lunch. I call the store and made a complaint they told me they can refund or replace because I ordered through doordash. They dold me to call doordash which I did and doordash also told me to call the store because it wasn't a damaged or undelivered or wrong item. So no one wants to take responsibility for my 100 dollars that is spent if this is how you guys treat customers I would tell all customers to avoid this store.i also told them that I did a video of the food and ican send it but they told me I doesn't make a difference. So I think in a few days I will just upload it here it someone dont correct this issue.

Google
Ordered the Chicken Tiki Marsala, and it was absolutely a poor rendition of this dish. The chicken tasted like it was frozen past its prime, and the flavor of the marsala was like a spicy tomato soup. It really lacked the many vibrant flavors that are characterized in a great Chicken Tiki Marsala. Was highly disappointed... However, the Samosa's and garlic Naan bread were good.

Yelp
Still love this spot! I've never ordered in house, I always order for pick up, but every time I wonder why I haven't gone back sooner. This particular time I ordered the veggie momos, veggie appetizer, palak paneer, and some naan. The palak paneer is always delicious, I love that they allow you to choose your spice level! I tend to like a little bit of spicy, so I like that option. This was my first time getting the veggie appetizer assortment, loved it all. As for the momos, also delicious! They came with so many in the order too which I didn't expect. It's all decently priced out and the pick ups are always smooth! Big fan of Cumin:)

Yelp
This spot seems to be tucked away in an unassuming plaza but I'm glad a family member recommended it. My boyfriend and I dined in on a Friday night and there were only a couple other parties dining around 7:30 pm. The interior is beautifully decorated! The flower vases and rose-shaped napkins on every table were nice touches and made our date night feel extra cute and special. The service was also very friendly. We ordered the fish curry, paneer tikka masala, butter naan, and pulav rice. We requested a level 2 spice level (mild-medium). This was a subtle spice level for me -- a noticeable kick but not enough to make me sweat -- so we probably could have gone higher. Nevertheless, the food was plenty flavorful! I love a good tikka masala sauce and was not disappointed with this one. The salmon in the fish curry was a bit more well done than we preferred; overall the curry was just okay for us. The naan was thin and crispy, nice for dipping. This was a perfect amount of food for the two of us, and we will definitely be back to try more off of their large menu!

Yelp
We were a group of 4. Ordered the Veg Platter for appetisers and the Veg Momos . Entrée were Chole, Saag Paneer. For the breads, we ordered Spinach Naan, Garlic naan, Lacha Paratha and, Basmati Rice on the side. For desserts-Gulab Jamun. The appetisers did not taste fresh (they were probably just reheated so were dry and very chewy and quite tasteless). Entrée tasted fine. Lacha paratha was poorly prepared and very tasteless aswell, the other breads, rice and dessert were okay. Service was prompt, ambience was below average, dingy too (the napkins also had a discomforting smell). I am okay to have visited the restaurant once, however it is more than likely that I may not want to repeat the experience, so sorry can't recommend.

Yelp
I tried this restaurant for the first time , ordering the Chicken Bhenta, yesterday and it was SO delicious! It was fresh and the flavors were just perfect! The take out service was friendly and efficient. I will be back again!

Yelp
Amazing tiki masala and butter chicken love there nan and there samosas as well!! So good and worth it!

Scout S.

Yelp
I love this place! It is our go to Indian restaurant that we have been ordering from for years and it's always consistently great! We always order takeout but the service is always friendly and with a smile! The butter chicken and garlic naan bread is fantastic.

Jonathon W.

Yelp
This place should objectively speaking not be getting such high reviews. The food yes is good. Nothing wrong with the food. So, for take out, maybe it's a reliable place to get good Indian food. The reason I am over this place is because the service is inexcusably bad for dining in. I already knew it was bad, but kept going because it's a casual environment (can go in wearing a t-shirt and sweat pants without feeling weird), the food is good, and I tolerated the bad service. But this time was the last straw. Weird stuff, like my GF ordered a coke, and he doesn't bring it. No way to get his attention because he never comes by or looks in our direction. We figured he forgot. But he didn't. When he brought the food, we were going to say "remember that coke?" but when he brings the food he says on his own accord, "and now I'll get that coke." So, he didn't forget. He just thinks it's normal to not bring it until after we've waited awhile for the food and the food is arriving? We waited the usual 15+ minutes for the food. No soda in that time? It's just not normal service. The food, as usual, is good. But my GF doesn't like spicey, so we order mild, and I ask for hot sauce on the side. Shockingly, he doesn't come right back with it (as that would have demonstrated good service). We watch him take the order from another table. We watch him bring water to a different table. But there's only a total of 3 tables, he does NOT look slammed at all. So, no hot sauce for me. I get up and walk to the front to ask for hot sauce. He replies yes, he'll bring it, he "got busy." (Again, there's 3 tables.) Then when he does bring it, it's a TINY TINY amount of a hot sauce that is BARELY spicey at all. In a normal situation, I could have asked, "do you have anything spicier than this?" or at least could have asked for more, as the amount was pathetically tiny. But in this situation, nope. Because he never comes back, never looks in our direction, nothing, I would have had to again walk up to the front. Then when we were done eating, we sat there 10 minutes waiting for him to come check on us so we could ask for the bill. I'm just honestly over this place with their over-the-top bad service. I dare you to go there and see if you receive better service. I don't think your experience will be much different. There are other options for good Indian food in Santa Rosa. Not returning to Cumin.

Sabrina K.

Yelp
The food is quite tasty however they do not serve alcohol. The server was attentive. The ambiance was of a small neighborhood restaurant. They have a lunch combo special during the day. I'd say it's heavier on the meat dishes vs vegetable. If your craving Indian food in the flamingo hotel neighborhood, this was a nice little find. Could be romantic for a couple, however no alcohol. My favorite dish was the Kadhai Lamb.

Jeremy P.

Yelp
New to the area and looking for good Indian food. Absolutely blown away by the amount of lamb and the beautiful layered flavors in the Saag. I will be ordering here again for sure.

Yelp
One of the hidden gems of Sonoma County. Amazing dishes, phenomenal service if you can make the time to dine in the restaurant it's a relaxing setting with the opportunity to hear, see and experience aromatic dishes that you will find yourself ordering at your next visit.

Yelp
The place is nicely decorated and the food is excellent. We had lunch there on a Sunday and it wasn't super crowded but it seemed like they only had one person to wait tables etc. It's nice to have some good Indian food options here in Santa Rosa.
google avatar

Yelp
Very quick service, good food and came out super hot and fresh! Would eat here again in the future

Nicoletta K.

Yelp
We found a new Indian restaurant where we could go. We've been looking since the one on Calistoga rd. changed ownership and no longer had good food. Nice people though. At any rate, this was good. Chicken korma, chicken tandori tikka and garlic naan. Chicken was tender. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Tax and tip $53 total. Our new go-to. Should I give it 5 stars? Maybe next time.
google avatar

Jimmy A.

Yelp
This is a great Indian restaurant in Santa Rosa...maybe the best we've tried and coming from S.F., we consider ourselves Caucasian Indian food experts. With that beginning, let's talk about the food. The Naan is excellent, especially the cheese filled version, garlic and plain are also great. Love the papadum dipped in the green or brown sweet sauce. Both are excellent! The main dishes are solid ...tikka, kormas, curries, mo mos and especially the samosas. We've always picked up and paired at home with a decent red, but the interior seems clean and pleasant. Always seems empty when we are there. The beverage list is fine. The service is always friendly and on time. We always vow to eat in next time but we will see. Pro tip...bring your own wine, the owner tells me, no corkage.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Best Indian food around, and honestly some of the best I've ever had. I have dined in and the staff is extremely friendly, efficient and caring. The atmosphere is welcoming and fancy, comfortable and helps calm your mind and get away from the daily stuff for a bit. Strongly recommend.

Yelp
Great sit down place for dinner! This is a perfect spot for a family dinner. They had indoor and outdoor seating. Service was fast, there wasnt many people which was nice. We had the samosas (10/10), chicken curry (9/10), shrimp biryani (10/10) and the chicken tikka (9/10). Everything was delicious! I highly recommend this spot
google avatar

Olivia M.

Yelp
Been coming here for a few years now and the food is always amazing. I recommend the Lamb Korma and the Chicken tiki masala. The customer service is excellent they are always really nice to me and my boyfriend. Consistent throughout the years and still taste the same.

Yelp
wow i was so surpised to find out how good this place was. let me start by saying this is most likely my favorite Indian restaurant in all of Santa rosa! their spinach Naan is too die for and their tikki Masala makes my mouth water just thinking about it. this place was so good and to think I would have never came if my friend didn't take me. if you are thinking Indian go to cumin!

Yelp
When doing a search for vegetarian restaurants in Santa Rosa, I was surprised at the limited choices. But with good old Yelp, we found Cumin. The food here is so flavorful and delicious. My wife had the Vegetable Chow Mien and really enjoyed it. She also order the Tadka Dal with 5 chili spice level. It wasn't very spicy and we needed to ask for some chili sauce. I had the Chicken Choila with the servers recommendation and it was awesome! Just the right amount of spices and I loved it with the plain naan. Out friend had the Vegetable Biryani. It's has a hint of spiciness and was very tasty. There was plenty of food left for us to package to go. The ambiance was really nice and there is ample parking in the lot. We will definitely be back:)

D. S.

Yelp
This is not about the food which is nothing special, but passable. I would have given it 3 stars This is about the fact that I placed a takeout order and when I came in to pay, the Clover device payment screen said there would be a 3% surcharge for use of a credit card. I didn't come prepared to pay with cash. This was a change from their past policy and extremely unusual for a restaurant to tack on a credit card surcharge. I've never had that happen before. The waiter said this must be due to the use of the new payment device (Clover). I am very tired of being ambushed by these new payment devices whether it is asking for tips when none are traditionally warranted or now trying to tack on an extra 3% credit card charge. I am certainly fine if the restaurant wants to make that change, but then let me know in advance on the phone when I placed the order or on the website. Don't just ambush me when I go to use my credit card.

Yelp
I am so glad to have this restaurant in the neighborhood! I love Indian food and this place is the best! I'm a huge fan of their Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken is even better! The assorted appetizers is a great starter to share. I think my favorite dish is the Chicken Biryani. I have to have it at least once a month or more! Super friendly staff, cool ambiance and delicious food!
google avatar

Parker S.

Yelp
Some pretty good Indian food! I've ordered delivery from here before and came in another time, mid week for dinner. It was quiet and pretty cold. We were pretty bummed the samosa came out cold but everything else was good! The menu has clearly marked vegan items, which is always helpful. With 2 - 3 people, we can't eat here without the bill being close to $100 everything just adds up quickly, appetizers, main dishes, naan (not vegan) and rice but we'll be back to satisfy that Indian craving.
google avatar

Elvia A.

Yelp
Just wow. Service was amazing! We went in last night right as they opened for their dinner hours so we were the only ones in the restaurant, perfect and quite. I ordered the butter chicken(mild) with garlic naan and rice, my partner ordered chicken tikka masala(the spiciest available) with butter naan. I wasn't able to try his food because its too spicy for me but it looked very tasty and he said it was bomb. Mine too was perfect, great portions for the amount of money you pay, they do not skimp on that plenty of rice or size of the naan. This was actually my first time coming here, and only decided to come here based on their dinner hours, since a lot of Indian food restaurants wont reopen until after 4:30 on average but not Cumin! I loved this place, very clean and the best I've had to date!

Anupam S.

Yelp
Food: The Cheese Garlic naan is worth trying but the overall food quality over time has worsened (this was my 3rd and definitely last visit). The team uses the same 2-3 curries for all their food items. I was served red malai kofta (which is a white gravy dish) and the same gravy for Paneer Tikka Masala. Further the gravies looked old and had too much "colour additives". Service: The staff seemed unfriendly upon showing pictures of how food quality is not the same from prev orders. They seemed unwelcoming and suggested additional charges to re-prepare items. Ambiance: The ambiance good with a red/yellow color palette theme to the restaurant.

Yelp
Very sweet restaurant and staff. We ordered a large order to go. It was ready within a few minutes of arrival. My daughter has been to India to learn to cook Indian foods. We both found their food quite delicious. Everything was freshly prepared and though we spent a fair amount on our carry out order we were very happy with our food.
google avatar

Paula N.

Yelp
Upon walking in, the staff were really kind and checked up on us often to make sure we were doing fine. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted amazing and I would 10/10 recommend that! However, the goat curry was very salty. Chicken Biryani was decent and tasted authentic. The garlic and basil pesto naan were both very good and I would recommend that! Overall a good experience!
google avatar

Estela G.

Yelp
When we're craving Indian food on a week night, this is our go-to takeout spot! Our favorite entrees: chicken biryani, butter chicken, and garlic or butter naan. Plan in advance as it often takes 40+ minutes for food to be ready. Great service and clean ambiance if you have time to dine in the restaurant. One last thing: there can be whole spices, cardamom pods and cloves in the biryani.

Suraj R.

Yelp
Highly recommend this restaurant for food. Kadai paneer was world class and I would highly recommend this dish. Garlic naan was really good as well with cilantro on it. Malai kofta was decent but a bit too sweet. Ambience was ok but great for a hot day. Service was good but it took a bit more time than usual to get our order.
google avatar

Sone P.

Yelp
Very well cooked food. The seasonings are perfect. Does take a little time to get the food ready to the table, but it's to be expected as everything is cooked to the order. The restaurant itself is a very calm place. The smell of condiments is very present.
google avatar

Bhavna S.

Yelp
Just walked in and were told they are closed for dine in even though their hours on Yelp state they are open til 10 pm and their sign on the restaurant says open! Absolute disgrace and will not return!!!!!!!
google avatar

Donatela B.

Yelp
Great service here. Great food. We love the butter chicken with rice. Also, try the cashmerie naan!! It's fabulous and a real unexpected treat. We will recommend and return.
google avatar

Merrilyn Y.

Yelp
Ordered via door dash. All the other dishes were correct and tasted good. This entree was the Dal soup not the Tadka daal (lentil). Flavor was ok and there were no lentils.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
Still excellent as ever. We sat outside with our fur babies. Still highly recommend. Huge menu options for vegans, vegetarians and meat and fish eaters. Can't go wrong here!
google avatar

Michaela D.

Yelp
Highly recommen this restaurant. AWESOME food, great Customer Service. Everything was delicious, tho I spend so much money because I couldn't decide what I wanted. Loooooove the chutneys. Cannot wait to go again
google avatar

Cristin Q.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Their time estimates for takeout are also very accurate, but not necessarily speedy.

Ruby S.

Yelp
Excellent! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa, and is absolutely delicious. Whether it's the korma, the tikka masala, or any of the other dishes, Cumin does it right. Soft naan and friendly service round out a great experience.
google avatar

Heidi D.

Yelp
YAY!!! So happy to have another great restaurant serving Indian Food. I'll update in a few...
google avatar

Gin K.

Yelp
What a delicious meal we had recently, quite delicious. Saag paneer, vegetable biryani, and a few dishes I can't recall sorry (started this review weeks ago). Everything was delicious but I learnt a valuable lesson in scales of spiciness. I asked for medium heat (3 out of 5) thinking it would be spicy but asily edible. Nope! Was so hot we couldn't eat without adding rice, something sweet, using small amounts added to more veggies, etc. Tasted great! But way, way, way too hot for us. Definitely will go back but I'll ask for mild which hopefully still has a little heat.

Yelp
I'm always curious about new restaurants that earn solid 5 star reviews. Well, after dining at Cumin, I now understand the hype. This is the best Indian food I've had in Sonoma County! First of all, it's so refreshing to have a restaurant in Santa Rosa that is open relatively late. My dining companion and I came in around 8:30 and were treated with a delightful waiter. Their menu has a lot of options, so our waiter gave us a few recommendations. I'm thankful he recommended that we start with a spice level of 3 because it was SPICY! (which I loved!) We ordered an okra and tomato vegetarian dish, chicken curry, and garlic naan. I loved that rice was included with the curries. The vegetarian dish was quite unique -- I don't think I've ever had okra at an Indian restaurant before! The southerner in me was so pleased. The chicken curry was packed with flavor and the naan was fluffy and fresh. Each dish contained so many nuanced flavors and you could tell a lot of pride goes into the food here. I left Cumin super satisfied and excited to return to try more dishes off their unique menu. Santa Rosa is lucky to finally have such a solid Indian restaurant. 5 well-deserved stars, for both the service and the food!

Louis L.

Yelp
Chicken tikka masala and butter chicken were almost identical, both were watery. Saag paneer wasn't bad. Samosas were ok. Cheese Naan was delicious. Garlic Naan was dry and hard like it had been reheated from the day before. I've had better Indian within the area.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
The $10 lunch combo is a great deal! Tasty, generous amount of food. There are 7 selections for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I chose the chicken tikka masala. It can be prepared with your choice of spiciness from none to eye watering / help my mouth is on fire! I ordered medium which was subtly noticeable but not punishing. The sauce was luxuriously creamy. The chicken was cooked just right, done but not dry. The vegetable pakoras were crunchy on the outside, moist and flavorful inside. The basmati rice was also cooked perfectly. The naan bread was more of a parantha (flat bread) than a typically puffy pillowy disc. It was covered in butter, which I love. Ice tea was aromatic from cloves. A nice refresher. I love this style of Indian cuisine. In Santa Rosa there are about 7 Indian restaurants. The food here is above average. Nice clean dining room. Quiet. Excellent gracious service. I'm going to be a regular. You should become one, too. Recommended!

Yelp
Cumin Restaurant is walking distance from our home, and we couldn't be more pleased. We ate alone in the restaurant, but watched an unending flow of people picking up take-away dinners. Most of the menu is prepared gluten-free, and the server was well aware of gluten allergies. We ordered Vegetable Biryani, Tandoori Chicken, Coconut Soup, Cheese Naan, and Mango Lassi. I think the Naan was the tastiest I have ever eaten. All food was delivered to the table steaming hot. Despite how busy they were, we waited a minimal amount of time for our food. The kind server checked on us several times. I am disappointed we waited so long to enjoy such delicious food!
google avatar

Mt Mama K.

Yelp
The food at Cumin is AMAZING! Everything is authentic and super fresh. They are very popular, so if we ever have to wait, it is worth it! I love everything, but the Mango Lassi, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala with rice, and Momo are my favorites! Everything there is out of this world! I highly recommend this restaurant‼‼

Mollie H.

Yelp
Really good food. We did pick up so can't comment about the interior of the place. Will say that the mild-medium spice was a little more spicy than we intended. If you do medium or more, love your spice!

Yelp
The truth is I am very particular when it comes to ordering from Indian restaurants. I simply have high expectations that a place needs to meet before I even venture in to give them a try. Curious with the multiple 5 stars awarded to this establishment by other Yelpers, many who are friends or acquaintances, I decided to give them a go one day. Well from that day forward, Cumin has been a destination to quench my craving for delicious, authentic Indian dishes. With multiple takeout orders to gauge their work, I find it fitting to write a review of how great they have been especially this past year of takeout orgies. Whether it's their vegan samosas, assorted pakoras, paneer chili masala, or daal palak, Cumin does not disappoint. The flavor, texture, heat--all balanced to create a very delicious dining experience. Their samosas deserve the most recognition though. Hefty in size, stuffed with delicious filling, and fried to golden perfection I could certainly eat two or three or more (dare I say I have done just that) at one time. I admit that dipping the samosa in their chili masala just takes it to a whole other level. So in short, Cumin has my vote of being a solid Indian restaurant. Whether its this pandemic or the ones to come, I know that this place will be there to offer up some delicious meals to go.
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
Great food, little on the salty side but solid on the heat level delivery. They were very nice about a snafu with an online order and made sure to make it right. Nice for a neighborhood pick up spot.
google avatar

Lindsay J.

Yelp
Tucked away in a discreet corner pocket of Santa Rosa is this hidden gem. If you're craving comfort food, fresh ingredients, friendly service and a relaxed not too crowded place, RUN not walk to Cumin. Mango lassi (pssst, they make their own yogurt), chicken mo mos (made to order), healthy portions of yogurt marinated, tandoori fired proteins, curries, rice dishes and more. Lamb, salmon, goat, not to mention sweet, delicate desserts. You can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Alice K.

Yelp
Picking up dinner from here is always a treat. Packed well so it travels well, whether I have time to pick it up or have to get it delivered. Highlights are the juiciest, most tender tandoori chicken I've ever had and every beautiful curry I've ordered becomes my new favorite (tikka masala, korma, saag paneer, coconut curry - you really can't go wrong). Fluffy, crisp garlic nan is another must order. And the mango kulfi... incredibly rich, creamy, and the perfect ending to a spice-y meal. Kind owners always seem eager to please (asking how the food was, etc), and it's always easy to find a parking spot. I really love this place above every other Indian/Himalayan restaurant in the area for the quality of food mostly, but these are nice things too.
google avatar

Victor C.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was stellar. Plenty of parking and a robust menu
