Upcoming Chicago-Area Restaurants and Bars to Know, Spring 2021 | Eater Chicago

"I found that locally based all-day cafe Cupitol Coffee and Lounge has applied for a liquor license at 135 N. Clinton Street in the West Loop — the space previously housed Le Pain Quotidien — and Cupitol already operates outposts in Streeterville and Evanston." - Naomi Waxman

Love stopping here before a show at Lyric Opera House! The place is usually hopping, because they offer a variety of breakfast and lunch specialties including pancakes, sandwiches and salads. I highly recommend the Americano or lattes, tasty coffee. I tried the lemon blueberry pancakes and they were very rich, but very tasty. They offer so many types of breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches it was hard to pick! I saw a lot of people ordering the French toast with fresh berries. Service is fast and you pay the counter but they bring your food to the table based on your order number.

Pros: the staff is very nice, inside is cozy and the location is really cool too. I really have no issue with the place itself and the feel of it. The smell of the bakery is also really inviting. Cons: the food and coffee is just eh. We ordered the omelettes and they were pretty flavorless for the price honestly. I got a white mocha iced latte, and honestly it tasted more cold milk than a latte. I had to get another espresso shot to taste some coffee but there was no white mocha flavor at all. Just overall pretty disappointing for the price and feeling of the location. Would rather get my coffee at Starbucks.

This is a walk up to order, and take your number with you to a table kind of place. Food was good, my iced chai latte was on the sweet side but still good. My partner got one of the juices and it was very healthy tasting, likely no added sugar just veggies and fruit. We sat on the little patio because the weather was nice.

Unfortunately the cost isn't worth it here at all. The advertised price for a 12 oz latte is $4.75. Cost on receipt was $5.25. Oat milk 95¢... vanilla syrup 75¢ ... Then a 3% surcharge for using a credit card? What year is this? With tax and a $1 tip I had a generic latte for $9 😳 Also, it's 85°F outside. Please close your front door. The people were perfectly nice but I wouldn't be back.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cupitol, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed their Nutella latte, which was rich and creamy, perfectly complementing my sweet tooth. The Nutella tart was another highlight; each bite was indulgent and satisfying. If you're a fan of French toast like I am, you absolutely must try their berry mascarpone French toast. It was heavenly! Every bite was delicious, and the flavors were beautifully balanced, making it a standout dish. The ambiance at Cupitol was incredibly relaxing, making it an ideal spot to catch up on work emails or simply unwind. The staff was polite and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend visiting Cupitol for a delightful meal and a cozy atmosphere!

Came in from out of town to check this place out since a close friend recommended it, everything was awesome with great customer service in the counter; the young gentleman was very polite and after a couple questions about the menu I picked out a latte he recommended (tasted great). The barista was kind as well The only reason I’m giving the atmosphere a 3 is because it was so hot inside it felt uncomfortable, also the wifi was off and on, as I was working on my laptop, it was a bit exhausting.

Well…where to begin? This was hands down the worst breakfast I have ever put in my mouth. I ordered the protein breakfast and requested extra sausages with scrambled eggs. When it arrived the eggs were stale and grey, completely flavorless. The bread tasted like it came from Middle Ages England, the ‘hash brown’ was strands of potato that tasted pretty much like witch hair. They also gave me jam? To go with sausages? And eggs? What?? My girlfriend ordered chicken soup, the color of which I can only describe as the skin of a deceased person left in a suitcase at the bottom of the ocean. To taste, indescribable, it was like Voldemort’s elbow crease on a hot day. The chocolate cake was sub par and the staff were friendly. Never again.
