The 15 Best Bubble Teas In London

"Order: Cheesy Milk Tea With Oreo Bits This little cafe on Newport Court serves freshly brewed tea with classic flavours like passion fruit green tea, and brown sugar milk tea, as well as a selection of cheesy milk teas which you can’t find everywhere. The cheesy drinks are topped with a foamy layer of milk and cream cheese sprinkled with salt, and Min Tea does it well. The cheesy milk tea with Oreo bits is our drink of choice, but the brown sugar milk tea is also a great option. There are a handful of tables inside, so it’s an ideal spot to spend half an hour while you chew on fresh tapioca." - rianne shlebak

Cuppacha Bubble Tea - Chinatown Review - Chinatown - London - The Infatuation

"On London’s unofficial bubble tea strip, Cuppacha Bubble Tea is a bright pink shop in Chinatown’s Newport Court. To avoid the weekend queue, pop into the takeaway spot on a weekday to try one of their refreshing fruit teas. They’ve got the ice tea formula down—unlike some other spots, the sweetness isn’t overpowering and it’s still refreshing. We like the mango green tea with passion fruit or lychee popping boba, as well as the passion fruit green tea. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat" - Rianne Shlebak

I tried the classic black tea at Cuppacha with coffee jelly as the topping. The tea had a smooth, clean flavour, I really liked that you can adjust the sugar and ice levels to your preference, it makes a big difference. The coffee jelly was a nice addition too, slightly sweet and a good contrast to the tea. A simple but well-made drink that's easy to recommend if you’re after something classic but customisable.

We tried the sweet taro mash brown sugar fresh milk as it was ok to be honest! I think I have tried better brown sugar milk but the mashed up taro in the drink was very delicious and it was different.

Google
Best bubble tea in London to date. Gotta try hassle free and easy menus for us oldies

Google
The least tastiest and the least generous bubble tea we have had. I picked tripple mango matcha and with oat milk. And it felt that it was just milk, I could even taste oat easily. There was little of match and confusing tiny amount of mango jam. I always get mango matcha and I got excited about triple but it was disappointing. Other places I have tried had fresh mango pulp but here it was just milky liquid. I asked about it, staff kindly offered to make something else but I decided to not take it and unfortunately not getting one from cuppacha again. My sons brown sugar one was ok but he also agreed that there are much better mixes in other places. But the venue is lovely though.

Google
Came here after seeing great reviews. Tried the sweet Taro mash it was alright nothing too great about the taste. The boba were alright and the mash was ok too. The milk just felt like sugar n milk not much flavour. I have tried a lot of bubble tea places in London, am it’s not on my top 5 surely. But since am a bubble tea lover I will try a different one next time.

Google
This place is top-tier generic bubble tea—and that’s not a bad thing. Don’t expect anything amazing, but if you’re looking for something easy, affordable, and no stress, it does the job. Feels like a good pick for kids or anyone just starting out with bubble tea. The employees were relaxed and quick, which made the experience smooth overall.

Great customer service! Very clean and has a large variety of Boba. Would definitely come back 😁

Yelp
Really good bubble tea place in Chinatown! It's a small place with limited indoor seating, but a super cute vibe. I tried the Midnight Blueberry and it was delicious (I'm not even a huge blueberry fan). Definitely recommend if you're a bubble tea lover!

Yelp
Stopped by Cuppacha on a recent visit to London, as I love bubble tea and have many locations to choose from in our area, and this was the first one we saw in London Chinatown. The shop was packed with customers. It was 30 minutes before closing. I ordered the lychee green tea with popping boba. We waited for 20 minutes as it seemed they were out of fresh tea and many customer had been waiting for their orders. My number was called after the long wait and they mentioned that they had run out of popping boba!!! Did not offer to refund the money and asked what I wanted to do!!! I had no other choice as I did not want the regular boba.... I was just ready to take the tea and leave, which is what I did. Nothing memorable about the tea flavor, customer service or lack of, or the experience.

Yelp
I had no idea we were so close to Chinatown when I did a random search for "Boba" and Cuppacha was one of the higher rated boba spots in London. The shop is pretty small with interior seating only for guests waiting for their drinks to be made. On the night that we came, the sealing machine decided not to work. The employee trying to troubleshoot it should've made an announcement to the store explaining what was going on but everyone was just impatiently waiting. Some people just asked for their drinks with a smoothie lid and didn't care about the sealed lid. He should've offered that option to customers first instead of fidgeting around with the machine for 15 minutes. I won't knock the ill-timed demise of the machine against the place though. Anyhow, I just got the standard boba milk tea and I thought it was just like the milk teas I'm used to having. The boba itself was soft and chewy and the milk tea was tasty. I'm glad to know that where ever I am, home or abroad, I can get quality boba.

Yelp
Cuppacha was right next door to Happy Lemon in London Chinatown so they have to be doing tapioca pretty well to be able to compete. Long story short, Cuppacha way better than Happy Lemon for sure! With the line out the door, this place had to be doing something right. My main problem about this place though is that they really need to upgrade to a bigger store. There are a couple seats inside the shop, but it's really only enough room for people to sit while they wait in line. And the line gets so long/crowded, even if you do manage to sit down, you have someone literally standing right next to you so it's rather uncomfortable. But as far as the drinks go, we tried their matcha milk tea with tapioca, 50% sweet and 50% ice level. The drink came out just about perfect to how we like it, and that's saying a lot cause we have TONS of different tapioca places back in Houston, Texas. The matcha flavor was strong and the tapioca pearls were the right softness. I'll definitely be back to visit Cuppacha again. Maybe if you're lucky, you can catch them with a shorter line during an off time of day.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Cuppacha while strolling the Chinatown area of London. I come from Houston where I frequently visit tapioca shops both chain and mom-and-pop shops to fulfill my cravings. So having stumbled upon Cuppacha in London was exciting! The line was long and I realized that the shop was quite tiny. The flavors were normal flavors, nothing out of the ordinary, and I opted for a matcha milk tea. The boba's texture was soft and chewy, and I appreciated that they catered to both the ice and sugar levels. A larger store front would be cool if I ever visit again, but the drink was otherwise solid.

Yelp
[Pre-COVID post] I was walking around Chinatown when I stumbled upon Cuppacha. It had such cute branding and a huge crowd surround it that made me interested in trying it. I had a pearl milk tea with easy ice and boba here, but it was a little disappointing because the tea was pretty weak and not very sweet.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Kinda taste like water. One of the most horrible bubble teas i have ever tried. Not sure why people are reviewing 4 stars for this averagely. I guess no brand shows that it would not be good. This is definitely not a recommended bubble tea place in london. I will never go back anymore.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
I saw the lines so I decided to give Cuppacha a try. I had a mango green tea with popping pearls. Despite asking for very low sugar, I found the drink to be really sweet. Perhaps I should have let the ice melt a bit. Also the pearls tasted like they were coated in plastic (they weren't but the pearls had a thick skin that disintegrated). For bubble tea, this was okay, but not worth waiting in a long line. I found it to be pricey for what it is. The lines are long, the clientele is mostly young teens and service is friendly but on the slow side. They have an extensive menu so if you are a big bubble tea fan this might be your place. There were some seats inside but it's really warm and stuffy. The wait can be pretty long so you may need to grab a seat. They have a bench outside.

Yelp
Seems like a hip, cleverly branded bubble tea shop. The Japanese matcha milk tea that we got tasted a little too weird, though. There was a strange chalky aftertaste. The boba had a nice chew and tasted pretty freshly made, though. Perhaps we just got unlucky with our order. I would probably give them another chance if I'm back in London.

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this shop as I was about to catch a bus. I normally would ignore a bubble tea shop like this since I'm not a huge fan of milk tea anymore, but I was like hey why not I haven't had it in a while and yelp ratings were great. Not much to lose if it's garbage. THANK GOODNESS IT WASNT. There wasn't a line when I got here around 7PM, but after I ordered, there was a flood of customers. I ordered the regular pearl milk tea because I wasn't feeling adventurous. Like I said, not a fan of these drinks anymore. The cashier and I had quite an awkward interaction since the terms they use here are quite different than in Boston, but that's expected. So couple tips that I didn't know (maybe just me because I can't be an airhead) - Pearl milk tea comes with "pearls" (I usually have to ask for "pearls") so no need to ask for boba - "Pearls" is the correct term for boba here; the cashier was so confused when I said I wanted "boba" since he didn't understand me the first time. I mean I totally get it...if you translate the Cantonese saying of "jung jiu", it literally means pearl BUT STILL :( Overall, the milk tea is amazing and tastes almost as good as the ones I've had in Taiwan. It doesn't taste artificial and the pearls had the most perfect texture. If Boston had milk tea like this, you bet I'll be addicted to it again

Yelp
Was in London durning the holidays and I wanted to show my boyfriend and his family what boba was so we came upon this place while we were exploring London. I remember the line being pretty long and the wait for our drink took some time however I think it was worth it as the ombré tea was pretty good and they seemed to enjoy their drink as well. Would I come back? Yes. Do I think I would wait in line again? Probably not. Also, the staffs didn't give that great of a service.

Yelp
Lots and lots of choices of bubble teas. Great service and friendly. The taste of the drinks were okay and it's fairly priced. It's kind of small and hot inside. There's always crowd in this establishment and mostly younger kids or teenagers. Great selections of bubble teas and fresh fruity drinks
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Japanese pop rice milk tea light sweet and light rice with boba was so good! Never had pop rice with milk tea but I love it as a tea and so good with boba! The boba itself is really good. Only downside is the cafe is small so not a lot of space to sit and enjoy your drink, only benches around the perimeter. I would definitely go back
google avatar

Nikki L.

Yelp
The cuppacha bubble tea was not to my taste. The boba balls were standard, chewy enough. The milk tea was drinkable but quite sweet (so ask for less sugar). I tasted lots of sweetness but not tea and there was this strong tone to it - coffee creamer I think.? I didn't like it much and won't be going back.

Yelp
Since Happy Lemon was next door and we have it in California, my friends and I decided to try to something new during our time in London. First time trying this place and I'm from the states, so my experience was great. Staff was nice and drink was prepared at a good time. Wanted to try something that I have never had in America so the Dawn Lychee Ombré fruit tea was a great choice if you are looking for something fruity, not to sweet, and refreshing while you go out and run errands or go food shopping. Since Happy Lemon was next door and we have it in California, my friends and I decided to try to something new during our time in London.

Yelp
I got Matcha Milk tea with pearls, loved it (with a slight sugar and no ice). Tasted like green/matcha creamy tea and the pearls are yummy. Will come again. Price is £3.85 for regular. Next time I might go for something a bit sweeter :)
google avatar

Tracey S.

Yelp
This is the best bubble tea I've tasted. Good on price and plenty of selections! My personal faves are lychee and watermelon! That'll keep my sugar levels going on an all high! This place always seems very busy especially during the weekends but it is well worth waiting for even if it takes 5 mins.
google avatar

Yelp
With several boba milktea locations nearby (and one literally next door), Cuppacha was a nice surprise. I had a hankering for some milktea, and there was a crowd of people inside, so I figured it must be at least decent. Service was friendly and efficient. I was asked for ice preference and sugar level. What I admire about all the milktea/dessert places I've encountered in Europe is that the default sweetness is actually not too sweet at all. I always have to advise teashops in the States to decrease sweetness levels by at least 25-50%. I like to gauge a bobashop by its basic/classic milktea. It's usually a good indicator of the quality and craftsmanship of the store. After a short wait, my drink was ready, and it was perfect: just enough sugar to satisfy, but not too much to overwhelm. I will definitely return on my future visits to London.
google avatar

Jimmy W.

Yelp
Terrible customer service! This place should be shutdown! First I asked if they blend the ice with their smoothies, then I overheard the cashier mocking my question. Also, when I tired to sit down, the same girl from the cashier wanted me to move to the next chair for no reason and said it rudely to me. I will not visit there ever again unless you want to be treated like an animal!
google avatar

Vasiliy M.

Yelp
Coming from the Bay Area, California, boba is huge and there are over 10+ shops every town. I did not even expect to find boba in London, so this was a pleasant surprise. And to be honest, Cuppacha exceeded expectation, but the quality and flavor selection doesn't match my favorite spots in California. I do appreciate the staff for being flexible with my order. I got a Taiwan peach green tea with pearls and a bit of milk. The tea was made with real plum, which was at the bottom of the cup! However, the tea was a little light on taste and the boba pearls (though again exceeding my expectations) were a little tasteless. I would return here and try the other flavors, so who knows, maybe I'll update my review in the future. For now, not spectacular, but a-ok.
google avatar

Alisa R.

Yelp
So I love this bubble tea place and still think it's 5 stars! I just felt I should update my review since the other one was almost two years old! Bubble tea is all the rage but not all bubble tea is equal ! So don't be fooled!! This place is great! They use real tea and milk and it taste amazing ! None of that chemical fake sugars junk you might get at other more western bubble tea places... Today I got a iced kumquat green tea with tapioca balls and as usual it was delicious and full or flavour! They also do their drinks with bubbles WARM , which I had tried and is great on a winters day! Love love love this place

Yelp
One of the questions I will always say yes to is 'would you like a cup of tea'. Which is why when my friend asked to go grab some bubble tea I said yes. I had tried bubble tea before and was not very impressed but I thought I'd give it another go as since then I have started having milk in my tea and trying out different flavours. We decided to go to Cuppacha as our other friend really likes it and after I went through the menu several times I decided on the Rose Milk Tea with the tapioca beans. Unfortunately they had just run out as apparently the flavour is quite popular with women so I switched to hazelnut instead. As a flavour I thought it was a bit on the sweet side, with a burnt flavour in it that I was not sure if it was intentional or not. The bubbles however, I really was unable to get past. To me they just feel unnatural and like those things kids under 3 are not supposed to swallow. My friends suggested that I try the bubbles that burst and have sweet liquid inside or the jelly next time and I am determined to do so. They insist that bubble tea is more of an acquired taste and I do think that it must be true for it to be so popular. I am definitely up for going back to find the right flavour combination for me so I can enjoy that mysterious tea phenomenon and I will most certainly keep you posted about it but in general I would in fact recommend trying it out and visiting this particular shop as it is quite cute and very popular with bubble tea lovers.

Yelp
I have to say Cuppacha do the best bubble tea in town!! There are so many bubble tea shop around and this is my favourite!! They are not only authentic but they are the only one that I can taste real "Tea" taste in the bubble tea. As a tea lover, I wanted to drink a bubble tea with real tea in it instead if just some fancy name or colourful drink with pearl. Therefore I go with my taste bud instead of following the queue in the other place that claim world chain but got disappoint by bad service and watery tasteless bubble tea. There is queue here too but staff are really friendly and helpful. Price wise.....3.25 for normal and 3.75 for large including pearl .......I think is cheapest in town.......most important is they always remind me what pearl/topping I want in my tea! You can find so many authentic flavour here that you see in Taiwan...... Which make me so difficult to decide what I want everytime and this is also one of the reason make me keep coming back to here to try out other flavour. The pearl is cook to perfection.....Sweet and chewy. I find that I really enjoy biting each one of them. I'm a tea lover so my list of my preference mainly all tea. These are my favourite Earl grey milk tea Roasted oolong milk tea Jasmine milk tea Matcha milk tea Plum green tea Winter melon lemon I have to add one more point here too..... My husband didn't like bubble tea he think that is a girly thing but I converted him with their oolong pearl milk tea!!! LOL
google avatar

Therese L.

Yelp
I didn't feel like braving the queue at Chatime so came to Cuppacha instead. Having passed by this shop more times than I can remember, I feel like I should apologise to the owners for not giving it a chance earlier but still would not pick it as my first choice. Their grass jelly roast oolong milk tea was delicious but not as rich as Chatime's similar house special. This may be because when ordering cold drinks, the staff mix the drink in a cocktail shaker but pour ice cubes into the serving cup. As the ice melts, the tea gets thinner and thinner, not to mention that eventually the ice cubes will be small enough to travel up the thick straws designed for the grass jelly or bubbles. The menu does look rather extensive though and I wouldn't say no to some of the more difficult to source teas available. The staff are friendly and you can personalise your drink's sugar levels a little more than at Chatime. For grass jelly tea, especially the roasted kind, I'd stick with Chatime. Just make sure you can spare the 35 minutes :P

Yelp
It's hard to find boba in London; this place would be the best one that I've been able to try/find. Staff are friendly, menu is very extensive so you have a lot to choose from, and you can tell that this stuff is not that powered & questionable looking stuff that you get from instant tea mixes. A bit pricey, since boba is literally half that price in the States, but I'll take it!
google avatar

Janice L.

Yelp
Fantastico bubble tea place. The pearls are cooked on point with the right tendency of chewiness and softness. Red date tea is great, green tea with red bean also a top, as well as other variations. There's a charge on using card unless you spend £5 or more. Also get their stamp cards!
google avatar

Jing Shyang Y.

Yelp
Converted to bubble tea. I've been cruel to bubble tea. Outright dismissive of the concept, the product, the establishments, and generally haven't given these places a change. THIS is the place that changed all that however. There are no prices on the board, but they feel sensible. Other popular places such as Boba Jam will charge close to £5 for a basic milk tea. This place is closer to £3 for a standard milk tea with bubbles of course. The flavour is great. Packaging attractive and the bubbles are really soft and you get loads. They'll also create whatever non-standard drink you want and add an arbitrary charge on top, which doesn't feel like they're following any formula, but more importantly feels fair. It's not like a pizza place adding £1.50 per additional topping and only giving you 5 grams of tuna. More like 50p per additional ingredient. Sensible. There isn't much seating in this place, and the seating area could be a little cleaner, but I'm happy to come here after a meal in Soho. Note that after meal times the place does get rammed, but the queue quickly clears. Additionally they let you collect stamps on behalf of other members in your group. Good stuff. I'll be back again. And I'll like it. The only downside is the 50p surcharge on card payments, so have cash to hand.

Yelp
Cuppacha is a wonderful little shop with friendly staff and has become my regular place to go for a fix of bubble tea in Chinatown. The menu is broad with many combinations of milk or fruit teas with various toppings. Usually I go for the classic mixtures of matcha red bean milk tea, taro milk tea or matcha egg pudding milk tea. What I like about Cuppacha is the flexibility to customise the drinks on sugar and ice levels to make them slightly healthier and nicer to drink! On this warm evening I wanted to try something different so chose the Yakult green tea with the recommended topping of lychee jelly. It was a good change, the tea tasted fruity with a nice bouncy texture of the lychee jelly. Pricing at £3.25 for medium and £3.75 large is competitive, the shop also has a loyalty card to collect points for a free drink. I used to frequent chatime on old Compton street regularly but since their refurbishment the prices have risen noticeably they started to charge extra for toppings. On the last visit at chatime my combination was almost £6, an amount I choose not to pay for just a bubble tea especially as I can find bubble tea that tastes better at a fraction of the price from cuppacha.

Yelp
Definitely delicious bubble tea, as good or better than anything we get in New York or Boston. We waited in a long line out the door to order, but once we got to the counter the staff person was very nice. There's no real seating or tables - just a window area and a bench outside. I thought the prices were very fair.

Yelp
I came here and they didn't have matcha green tea w whole milk. Just some kind of powdered fake milk and I didn't want that.
google avatar

Fiona C.

Yelp
Came looking for a boba shop since i've been deprived of boba for more then 2 weeks but both the service and drink was mediocre. I ordered a cuppacha pearl milk tea large, regular sugar with no ice thinking since it was named after the shop, it would probably be my best bet. Service is just like any other asian shop, polite but not so friendly. They accidently added ice in my tea but apologized and immediately fixed it for me, but maybe they forgot that no ice=more tea=less sugar so my milk tea came out a bit too unsweetened for my taste. The boba might've been sitting too long since it was more on the firm side and sour(my friend also thought it tasted sour). Overall, i wouldn't come back again unless i was desperately craving boba but seeing as i won't be coming back to london or europe anytime soon, that won't happen.

Yelp
Great bubble tea place in London's Chinatown! It's right next to Happy Lemon (another bubble tea place) but this place is better quality and tastier. Milk tea here is not too sweet and I LOVE how they ask you for sweetness levels (in case you forget to tell them you want it to be less or more sweet). I hate it when I forget to ask for less sugar and then the drink is overly sugary. They also ask if you prefer less ice. The egg pudding is soft and smooth and the boba is chewy and fresh. This place has many options and the service is really friendly! You'll get your tea soon and overall I'm happy I visited this cute tea place on my trip to Chinatown. BTW, Cuppacha is a pun. "Cha" means "tea" in Chinese so it is literally a cup of tea.

Yelp
I love bubble tea, mostly with the traditional tapioca pearl, but also with a variety of jellies. I'm not a big fan of the popping liquid pearls though, so I usually steer clear of them. But I'm getting way off topic here, so back to business! I was walking by this shop on my way home from the cinema and just had to stop and get a cup of goodness. I chose a coconut flavour milk tea with tapioca pearl. Usually that's a pretty safe bet, but they did manage to get it wrong, very wrong. I asked for 3/4 sugar, but it managed to taste too sweet and to bitter at the same time. They also filled way too much ice in with the hot tea, so the cup was still warm when I got it and the tea very watery within a few minutes. The melting ice cubes also kept travelling up the large straw, which was rather unpleasant. So all in all, they either had a really bad night or simply don't do bubble tea well. I probably won't be coming back here.

Yelp
Wow. One of the best bubble teas I've ever had. After a terrible one from a nearby restaurant in Chinatown, I passed by this Cuppacha and wanted to give it a try! Very neat/casual/friendly/colorful/inviting decor, places to sit inside the shop, and quite a lot of flavors! I only looked at the first menu (the bubble tea menu) and didn't even begin to consider all of the other menus. + Oolong Milk Tea: DELICIOUS. Wonderfully nutty and smooth, definitely captured the flavors of oolong tea. Oolong tea is one of my favorites, and this was the FIRST time I've ever seen oolong milk tea. If I lived in London, I would get this at least once a week. Also, cool surprise... as I was drinking, a tea leaf came up my straw. That's a great reminder that it's legit tea haha. + Taro Milk Tea: Generally, I think taro milk tea's hard to screw up (after all, it's just powder), but I've been places that somehow managed to make terrible taro milk tea. Cuppacha's taro is also one of the finest I've tasted. I'm not sure what they do or what flavorings they use that make it taste better than other taro milk teas I've had. + Japanese Matcha Milk Tea: My friends got the matcha, but I didn't try it. I guess it was probably great though. So, I highly recommend the oolong milk tea, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of their teas. If you've never had bubble tea before, definitely try the pearl milk tea (the normal one), Japanese matcha milk tea, or taro milk tea. These are staple flavors. NB: The boba costs extra unless you're getting one of the normal tea flavors (like pearl milk tea or oolong). Some toppings are free though. The bubble tea itself is 3-4 pounds. I was quite surprised to find out this place opened so recently. Everything's settled and in place: straws, loyalty stamp cards, etc. Though they couldn't accept my American credit card at the time being; but I think they said they're just waiting for the equipment to come in. In summary: their bubble tea is amazing, with many flavors that you can get cold or hot, and with various toppings besides boba. They also have other drinks available and small Asian snacks for sale. Staff was very very friendly as well! Waiting for my bubble tea took mildly longer than expected, but I guess that extra bit of lovin' made for a superb drink in the end!

Yelp
Boba lovers, mark this place immediately, it's AWESOME! This is what I have in mind of an authentic boba place. Like the ones you'd see in Asia, it's small, cute, colourful and clean (the interior reminds me of Pinkberry a little bit). I walked by this place 2 weeks ago while waiting to get in another restaurant and decided to try it. Haven't had that much success with boba in London, I had very little hope, and I was pleasantly surprised. Turns out they just had their grand opening back then(yes 2 weeks ago!) and I've already been back 3 times... Tried a few drinks there and they all turned out well. Unlike a lot of people, when it comes to bubble tea I actually want to taste the *tea* part of the drink. I don't care how many exotic flavours you have or how many different types of tapioca/jelly you can add, I'm happy as long as you can make the most classic bubble right, with a clear taste of tea, a smooth texture of milk, and a right degree of sweetness (can't be too sweet). Sadly, in most places I tried outside of Asia, all I got was artificially flavoured sugar water. I'm super happy that I found Cuppacha, a cute place that can make boba right. Even though it's only been open for 2 weeks, it seems to get quite popular and man it deserves it. It's quite small and doesn't have tables, not a place to hang out for a long time. But it does have some seats near the window for you to chill while waiting for (or sipping on) your drinks. p.s. waitresses are cute and friendly :)

Yelp
Bubble tea was great but I think it was pretty crappy not to give me a cup of tap water for my 4 year old on a hot day. Why be stingy with something that's free when I'm already buying something?

Yelp
I only have three things to say about Cuppacha: 1) The boba is plump and soft, yet with a bite. 2) The drinks are richly-flavoured and appropriately sweetened (so you know you're actually drinking tea and not milk with some artificial, sugar-laden, tea-flavoured powder mixed into it). As others have mentioned, the roasted oolong milk tea is a standout. 3) The owner, Steven, is awesome. All good things. Go here.

Yelp
This was my first ever Bubble Tea experience, and it was definitely one that is going to bring me back again and again. Whilst hunting Chinatown yesterday for some products for my cooking, I came across Cuppacha Bubble Tea. I'd passed it last week but I dismissed it because it was really busy, but as it was quiet yesterday I popped in. I immediately told the server that I'd never had bubble tea and asked for a recommendation on what a first timer should have. She was incredibly nice and really helpful, and suggested I should just go for the regular Pearl Milk Tea. I had it hot, as there is the option for hot or cold, and in the 'pearls' were added. Bubble Tea, a Taiwanese delicacy, is hot or cold tea, usually made with fruit or milk, that usually comes with chewy little tapioca balls, known as 'Pearls'. It was a really strange experience, as you pierce the lid with a chunky straw and drink it that way. Drinking tea through a straw to begin with is a strange experience, but when you suddenly find chewy little tapioca balls making their way up the straw, the experience becomes an entirely new one. I absolutely loved it. It was hot and milky and sweet with the tapioca balls, and I loved the whole experience and how strange it is to the stereotypical British way of drinking tea out of a cup in front of the TV with a biscuit. Cuppacha do a range of teas, and once you've decided on your hot or cold flavour, you can also choose what flavour of pearls are added. They have the regular tapioca balls, but also have a few others flavours; Strawberry Popping Pearls and Mango to name a few. This is a totally different experience to regularly drinking tea, and I loved it. I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Good boba. I hate strong sugary drinks and here you can ask them to put little or no sugar. This is an average place. Craving boba go here, but def not a must.

Yelp
On a packed Lunar Eve's night, so many places in the Chinatown area were packed, boba shops especially. Looking for a worthwhile place, our group found Cuppacha. The place that has a great selection of flavors and add ons for which you can customize like crazy. Tiny storefront as there is very little room for the amount of people waiting, but it was super warm for the night, which was great if you could get in. Roasted oolong tea with pudding. Pudding has an excellent texture and flavor. I didn't enjoy the tea as much as I have at other places in London, but a solid effort nonetheless. Overall good spot for the tea/boba fix.

Yelp
They have the same absurd 50p debit/credit card fee for transactions under £5 that the Happy Lemon next door has. Unless they have the worst credit card merchant service ever, this fee has little or no connection to reality. It is rude, obnoxious, and anti consumer. So that's one star off off the bat. They have a variety of interesting drinks and while I'm more a fan of Happy Lemon's choices, you'll find chocolate and strawberry drinks to suit your heart's desire here and they're quite good. Just avoid the food. Seriously avoid the steamed buns. They're awful. This is where they lose the second star. If they weren't primarily a tea shop they'd lose a lot more than one star for these awful buns, and I love Chinese steamed buns. Go for the drinks, but have cash if you're alone. Avoid the food and you'll do fine :)

Yelp
Cuppacha is a quaint little bubble-tea place in Chinatown. It's off the main block so not a lot of tourists pass through here. The store has a decent selection of milk teas and fruit teas. There's a wide variety of flavours and toppings to customise your drink. The salesperson will ask if you want toppings, so just ask for the regular tapioca pearls (unless you actually want more stuff). I wanted to try to Oolong Milk Tea, but I've never had it before. Unfortunately, they don't give samples so I opted for my regular Matcha instead. I'm no expert on bubble-tea, but it seemed delicious to my unrefined palate! The pearls were perfectly cooked, chewy through the middle but not at all soggy around the edges. (Quite a difficult balance to achieve, as many places serve them hard and dry in the middle.) Apparently there used to be a problem with the pearls clumping. Fortunately, they've since resolved this issue. This place offers great bubble tea at decent prices. The only draw back is that they don't give samples. (Oh and there's a £5 minimum to use credit cards.)

Yelp
Finally a Bubble tea place in London that'll match what I used to get in Flushing. Even the packaging! The tea is good but I think it all comes down to the bubbles - which were nice, soft and chewy. Definitely the best I've had in London so far. Plus, they're so nice! This is a bit random but I had a cupcake in my hand because a friend of mine handed one to me and I was on my way home. I grabbed a napkin but the girl gave me a little bag to carry it in.

Yelp
I've been looking for a good bubble tea place to frequent in London and I finally found this place. Ordered the White Peach Oolong with pearls and it was amazing! The tea was perfect, the pearls were soft, the drink overall was just great. My boyfriend ordered their milk tea and it was also really good. I will definitely be coming back - good thing they give out loyalty cards :)

Yelp
I have really high standards for Bubble Tea (BOBA for americans)..and I like Cuppacha. I've gone twice now since it's opened... First experience: I went in because of reading the 2 glowing reviews that others have posted. It was kind of late and they had RUN OUT OF BOBA (pearls) i was in SHOCK but it was late. And then i saw all the bubble poppers and I thought they were boba...so I ordered a passionfruit green tea with mango poppers...it was TOO sweet. I was really embarrassed because it was TOO sweet...they saw my face and asked to fix it...and then again it was still too sweet for me. I had to ask them to remake my drink 3 times...because for me...it was sugar in a cup. BUT! Let me just tell you I don't particularly like sweet drinks...but they never once stopped smiling and graciously made my drinks until I was satisfied. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Overall...I'd go back.

Yelp
I like the medium cup hot drink, £3.25, which is slightly cheaper than other places which only offer £3.75 for hot drinks. The roasted milk tea I ordered was too light for me, but I'll try milk tea another time if possible.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The best bubble tea that I've been able to find in London yet. I've had the oolong milk tea, taro milk tea and the lychee black tea with tapioca and they are all delicious. To echo many of the other comments already here, the Oolong is the best. Next up for me to try is the Oolong tea with grass jelly, mm. In the past month or so I've noticed that they've been growing a following, as the queue has been getting longer in prime evening times. It's worth the wait though.

Yelp
Lots of choices to mix and match. The prices seem average for London, although quite high for the world in general. Cool little store with bench seating. They make drinks fresh, and it takes a few minutes. It's on a little alley in Chinatown. The staff is friendly. It's so small there's no public restroom.

Yelp
Bubble tea with LOTS of options. This place is just great. Admittedly, I hate traditional tapioca boba pearls. But I like the "jelly" options (more or less mini gelatin tubes) and the "popping" boba are fab. Popping pearls are my absolute favorite. Cuppacha offers lots of flavors of tea (hot/cold/milk), juices, etc. etc. and the staff are super friendly. They offer a a loyalty stamp card as well!
