Curaçao Is One of the Most Queer-friendly Destinations in the Caribbean

"The Curaçao Sea Aquarium focuses on regional aquatic life and the ocean’s importance to the islanders. It has an active coral-growing program and a dolphin experience program for therapy for autistic children. The Ocean Lens experience allows visitors to descend 17 feet to a pod with a spherical glass window looking out into the ocean's depths." - Paul J. Heney

Curaçao Sea Aquarium was a lot of fun and we received a good amount of knowledge about dolphins. We booked the Dolphin Encounter excursion that was amazing! We were able to get in the water up close to pet the dolphins and do tricks. We enjoyed that it was only a group of 6 of us so we really had enough time for each of us to experience being with the dolphin named Romeo. We also went thru the aquarium where they had huge lobsters, fish, sharks and a conch hatchery. The nice bonus was we were able to see the dolphin show too! We had a fun time here and a truly memorable experience.

Coming into this with average expectations on our first day in Curacao, which was also my son’s 13th birthday, we were overwhelmed with the fun and emotion of seeing the dolphin show and then surprising my boy with a snorkel with the dolphins as his bday gift. The staff give him extra attention and played along with the fact he had no idea until the flippers and goggles were handed out. The Dolphins are amazing and show that happiness with their enthusiasm and clicking sounds. It probably helps that the facility is right on the ocean which is very unlike other pool based aquariums. The interior is more standard fare, but the exterior grounds by the sea, including a boat with a submerged viewing glass and the shark pen are interesting. Worth the price of admission especially with someone in your group doing a dolphin swim.

Very small. Exibits that they had look old and glass is foggy. They did have some cool things, the flamingos are active. It did look like they cater more to selling dolphin experiences more than an actual aquarium. It was not busy and you have to park outside the gate which was pretty full and cost 3 us dollars. Walk after parking is about 2 blocks.

We had such an amazing time at the aquarium. The tickets were reasonably priced. We toured the facility ourselves, but was able to witness the dolphin training and flamingo feeding. It was very informative. I enjoyed seeing the different aquatic animals.

Was expecting a small aquarium but it was actually a pretty cool experience. Got to see the dolphins with the people that pay for that experience, just be prepared cause dolphins are loud! If you stick around long enough you can also see them feed sharks and gain some cool knowledge.

We had a blast!! Mr. Richard gave my friends and I a tour and shared so much knowledge!! He has worked at the aquarium for 39 years and clearly loves what he does!! He was so kind and made our visit so special. All of the employees we encountered were absolutely lovely.

It's kind of a lackluster aquarium compared with what we have available to us in and around NJ, but we snorkelled with dolphins and it was SOOOOO worth it there! Staff are AMAZING (thank you George and Junior!) worth a trip and pay the money to snorkel.

It was a small but nice aquarium. It had a nice dolphin show, opportunities to feed sharks and flamingos, and the ocean lens adventure was cool.
