"Swing by delightful Brookline cheese shop Curds & Co. for a wide variety of cheese and accoutrements — and a grilled cheese lunch, of course. The classic option starts at $5 and includes a local three-cheese blend, served on buttered pain de mie; optional add-ons include prosciutto, bacon marmalade, Serrano ham, and more. But there are rotating specials, too, such as the “smokey baloney” — mortadella, smoky onion mustard, and a three-cheese blend." - Dana Hatic

I ordered a cheese box to celebrate our hardworking coworkers and they absolutely devoured it! They both gasped when they opened the box, the display was stunning. Ordering over the phone was so easy and they were very friendly even after I changed my pick up day. Definitely recommend and would purchase again, thank you!!

I participated in a private event with curds&co. It was phenomenal. They provided curated wine and cheese pairings, as well as a lovely charcuterie board. It was such a hit with all of the guests, and I can't recommend them highly enough! I will absolutely be going back.

Christina “Tina”

Google
Fabulous cheese shop in Brookline! Went for a cheese and wine class led by the personable Marco. Apart from the class they have a HUGE assortment of cheese, breads, spreads, and housewares.

Joshua Decosta

Google
I absolutely love this shop. They've always been welcoming and friendly towards my lack of cheese knowledge. The selection from wines, cheese, and snacks is always on point. The people are friendly, engaging if needed, and so wonderful. I really love this shop. If you haven't been yet and have wondered if its worth stopping by, this is your sign.

Google
We went to a wine "tasting". It was a 45 minute lecture. I'm accustomed to tastings being more social. Time to talk to your companion between wines and enjoy the wines. It was a wine and cheese tasting for $65. The wine was meh. One of the cheese's was so salty it overwhelmed the wine. Two of the cheeses were served with spicy sides that also overpowered the wine.

Google
This store has really gone downhill over the years. The last time I went in they added on extra bogus charges to the bill because they don't choose to pay their staff enough. Either raise your prices, or don't, but don't hide behind surprise charges that are not posted or explained anywhere.

Google
Lots of interesting and tasty cheeses with a variety of styles. The employees are really helpful and patient with recommendations. The shop also has a ton of products that would work as cheese pairings. Only complaint I would have is that they have a shelf of bottles right behind where you would stand by the cheese case, so be careful to not knock it over.

Google
Finally a place where I can find proper fourme d’Ambert to take me back home.

Yelp
I'm reviewing Curds & Co's Curdbox cheese boxes for January, February, and March 2022. So, this review is 1-2 months late, but better late than never. My wife and I are fans of cheese and charcuterie. We order cheese and meat boards regularly when we dine out at restaurants. We also like to buy the cheese and meat trays at our local Wegmans in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Therefore, it was only natural for my sister to gift us a three-month Curdbox subscription. We received the following Curdbox cheese boxes: * January 2022 - It's All Greek to Me: https://youtu.be/htHMZpiQ6vI * February 2022 - Goatapalooza: https://youtu.be/lRHPxxFPSQw * March 2022 - Leading Ladies: https://youtu.be/69g9uEba2vA There are YouTube links above because for each month's Curdbox, there's a "Curdcast" podcast video you can watch as you enjoy your box. As a fan of podcasts, I think it's cool. The podcasts are educational and informative. They help you appreciate your Curdbox more by giving you background info, tasting notes and opinions, and more about the items contained in your Curdbox. There's also a Spotify music playlist for each month. I appreciate the work that founder Jenn Mason and her good friend and cohost Julie Fei-Fan Balzer put into the podcasts and I enjoyed eating along with them. I would actually cast them on the big screen in our living room while we unpackaged and ate the cheeses and other items. I also appreciate the thought that goes into each month's cheeses, pairings, and themes. Curdbox is a neat concept and is ideal for cheese-lovers. It's a high-quality production; definitely a great gift idea and I recommend it for that. So why only Yelp three stars ("OK") instead of four ("Good") or five ("Great") from me? Simply put, overall, I just thought the boxes were OK. While I like cheese and charcuterie boards, I definitely do not consider myself a cheese connoisseur. I say that because maybe I didn't appreciate the cheeses as much as a true connoisseur, like Jenn and Julie, would. I'm also not a fan of goat cheese so unfortunately, the February 2022 box was not for me. That said, my wife, who likes goat cheese, didn't really like the cheeses included in the February 2022 box either. For me, they were just too funky. My favorite cheeses were the Manouri by Byzantino from the January 2022 box and the Sagittarius by Shooting Star Creamery from the March 2022 box. The former was made with whey cheese and cream (yum) and the latter was made with sheep and cow milk. I guess I just prefer milder, creamier cheeses. If Curdbox taught me anything, it might be that. My favorite cheese pairings were Brewer's Baked Pita Chips (made with up-cycled grains, January 2022); Mrs. Miller's Homemade Guava Jam and the Isadore Nut Co. Lemon Rosemary Cashews, Pecans, Walnuts (February 2022); and the Lark Fine Foods Burnt Sugar Shortbread cookies (March 2022). The pairing foods are from smaller businesses, like products you'd expect to find at a fine food/gourmet retailer like The Fresh Market. It was interesting to learn about and explore some new specialty food brands. At the time of writing this review, Curdbox costs $49.95 plus shipping per monthly box if renewed on a monthly basis. You can save a few dollars per month if you prepay for three or six months upfront. For example, if you pay for six months at a time ($269.76 plus shipping), it works out to $44.95 plus shipping per monthly box.

Yelp
I know I'm probably supposed to tell you how amazing the cheese and specialty salami selections are at a spot called Curds & Co, but I just can't do it because I can't stop thinking about how incredibly curated their small but mighty beer, cider and wine selections are. Specialty grocers are in a tough market, where any import can likely be bought slightly cheaper online. That's the nature of the beast. But with an informed and knowledgeable staff, a can't-lose inventory where mistakes are simply impossible (but the likelihood of finding an entirely new brand of comestibles is incredibly high). If you are planning a holiday gathering and need memorable bites for your guests, stop in to Curds & Co and buy whatever you can. Your guests will thank you for it.

Yelp
A cute little cheese shop in the heart of Brookline they have a bit of everything which is lovely. The staff was so friendly and super helpful with letting us choose cheeses and portions and even trying them out which was so kind. They also have different fun classes there you can take and there are so many fun cute gifts you can buy. They can build you a profile of cheeses you have tried so you have it on file in case you go back and forget. They do have beer and alcohol as well and pretty much everything you need to make an exquisite cheese board. We got 5 small pieces of cheeses to split between 2 people and it was absolutely perfect and more than enough. They literally were so kind and helpful referring us to different cheeses and directing us on what to get.

Sara E.

Yelp
Love being able to do a little cheese tasting before deciding what to take home. Wonderful mousse de foie gras as well. Wine available for purchase on location too, which is very helpful. Adorable shop, love coming here!

Karen B.

Yelp
Very cute cheese shop with lots of options from alcohol, cheese, snacks, deli meats, and quick bites. Service: amazing. The lady that was assisting me with my cheese choices was very helpful and patient. Instead of walking home with a full block of cheese you can buy small portions. Ambiance: vibrant and cool local vibes. Restroom available. Parking: street meters or public parking lots all around. It was easy to park. I saw they had tables but no chairs so not sure if it is due to covid they dont have seating options. One star off because this place would totally be a 5 star if you can get fresh cut cheese as a DIY cheese plate and try it in store.

Jenny Y.

Yelp
What lovely staff and amazing charcuterie! I've been several times now and each staff member was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their product and devoted to providing great service. They have a smallish selection of meat but I was really impressed by the quality for the price, and it's packaged and presented so well! Their other products are wonderfully curated-- I'm totally obsessed with the everything crackers, and I love perusing the wines and cheese slates if I'm waiting my turn. And they have little cheese ends for cheap! Honestly being here is pure joy. I love this little shop so much.

Ruth H.

Yelp
Curds + Co is the sweetest cheese shop to bless the Brookline neighborhood. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and more than capable of guiding you through profiles of both cheeses you're accustomed to and cheeses that maybe you've never tried before but most definitely fall in love with. Their passion for cheeses shines so bright and makes the selection process what it should be: educational and fun! They have a great variety of cheeses both from the NE and internationally and have in very neat handwriting the flavor profiles which make it much easier to browse while they're helping others. Service is quick but never rushed. Make sure to stop by for your next cheese and wine night!

Katherine V.

Yelp
My friend turned me onto this store and I'm literally in love. They speak my language and are very knowledgeable and respectful of their craft. Cheesemonger Dave who taught our class was sweet, chill, and you can definitely see that passion spark in his eyes. Atmosphere is very chic and welcoming, not at all intimidating as I inaccurately expected. The classroom set up looks very similar to a homey dining room. Food. The food. I cant even begin to explain to you. Cheese, old cheese, new cheese, fresh cheese, sharp cheese, smooth cheese, cheese photographs, cheese charts, everything cheese. If you just kinda sorta like cheese, youll find it here. If you like super strong cheese, youre in the right place. If youre one of those people who are weirdly attracted to stinky moldy cheese (raises hand) they got that too! They also have every kind of snack pairing you could imagine. The only thing I wish they had was a selection of fresh/dried fruit and balsamic/oils that go well in a charcuterie board. I'm coming back for a grilled cheese, truffle chips, and all the charcuterie my palate can take. Youve gotta come experience it!

Jan G.

Yelp
This shop is not only extraordinarily expensive, but it's deceptive too. When we got home and looked at the receipt, it included a so-called administrative fee. We called and asked about it. The person who answered the phone call wanted us to talk to the manager. The manager wanted us to talk to the owner. They said that this was a way to avoid raising prices. Well, that's just insane, since it is the same thing, but just deceptively accomplished. Given our aversion to deceptive business practices, we will never return.

Viet L.

Yelp
Love! Love! Love this place! The people there are very knowledgeable. We wanted a small cheese plate and they put together a few cheeses that were perfect for us. We like that we got the small amount we wanted versus buying a huge pre-cut chunk from the market.

Luke S.

Yelp
Rude and really not worth their prices. I know this is a popular local business but I will no longer shop there.

Kate C.

Yelp
Wonderful little local cheese store with an excellent selection of local and foreign cheeses. They also have a great wine selection that pairs nicely with their cheeses. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, which makes the entire experience even better. All in all, a wonderful time!

Chantel J.

Yelp
Okay so I like to fake like I know cheese, but I don't. I just know real adults eat it with crackers and wine. But this place made me feel like a real adult. The person went through everything for me and let me try samples. They even helped me pair it with wine and meats. So helpful. They were so sweet and the store was such a cool vibe. I found out my favorite cheese from this favorite place. Don't ask me because I don't know the name but I don't need to because they had a profile for me so I don't have to remember. And you get to buy small portions of cheese! Like a slither. Definitely coming back and have already told so many friends.

Diana L.

Yelp
I found my cheese heaven at Curds & Co. Their made to order grilled cheese sandwiches are DIVINE. The classic three cheese blend alone is a showstopper. I added prosciutto to take it to another level. The staff is so great. They seem like the kind of people I'd want to hang out with during and after work. Million thanks to my friend who took me there for lunch today. I'll have to go back to explore their other products.

Kelly B.

Yelp
Beautiful, well curated shop. They have a lovely assortment of things and I want it all. They also carry some unique vegan chocolates. So happy I stopped in!

Frankie G.

Yelp
New to Boston, and well, I found my new cheese monger! My labmate described a cheese she loved in California, I knew exactly what it was. Lemony, slightly chalky, but soft ripened. Gotta be Humboldt Fog. She said she can't find it anywhere in Boston. I go here and ask if they have it and they were like "of course we have Humboldt Fog". That was a comforting response for a cheese lover from California. She said it was pretty ripe, if that was alright. That's how I like it! Unfortunately, they don't carry any Cowgirl Creamery cheeses, because they are quite expensive on their own, much less through a cheese shop. I also got a half wheel of Harbison and a baguette. It was only when I left that I saw they had a small selection of cured meats. They also have a grilled cheese of the day, both of which I will have to try next time.

Samantha G.

Yelp
I found them on Mercato during the coronavirus lockdown and they are really wonderful. Delicious selection of cheeses. Also, they have both yeast and flour which everyone else seems to be out of. The jam from Sidehill Farm in Vermont is pricey for a small jar, but if you have the means it is second only to my aunt's homemade jam, and that's not for sale.

Julianne W.

Yelp
Beautiful cheese shop with great friendly faces. Bread is from Clear Flour Bakery which is awesome and their selection of cheeses is lovely!

Sarah A.

Yelp
Really beautiful new store that any cheese lover will enjoy! The interior is clean and spacious and the cheese is showcased in a large case. They also sell Iberian ham and lots of cheese accompaniments such as baguettes, jams and jellies, crackers, chips, etc. There is free wifi and a large, inviting table to sit at as well as a small chair and some books on cheese. In addition, they sell some cheese boards, cheese knives and cheese storage devices. I picked up some slate cheese boards for gifts and some very intriguing Iberian ham potato chips. Didn't try the cheese as I kind of OD-ed on cheese the night before and had tons left over in the fridge, but it was fun to browse. I liked that they had some of my favorites like Cowgirl Creamery. My only complaint is that the customer service was a bit lacking, which was not what I'd expect in such a pricey boutique style store. I was not greeted when I entered the store and the staff were very difficult to approach. I had to say excuse me I am all set just to pay for my items as the girl at the counter seemed really spaced out. I'll definitely be back here but would suggest they focus on improving their customer service.

Leah B.

Yelp
This is a phenomenal cheese shop. Not only do they have an excellent selection of cheeses (and other tasty goods), but the staff are also helpful, friendly, and super knowledgeable. They make the entire process of picking out cheeses (including up-to-date and straight forward online ordering), and figuring out pairings incredibly easy. Would highly recommend!

Majd A.

Yelp
I got a 3 year old aged Gouda and it was unbelievable. The people working there are also incredibly friendly! This place is wonderful and I will definitely come back again

Tara S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Recently discovered during the COVID19 quarantine when they began hosting virtual tastings. We did Cheese Therapy and Little Italy where you pre-order for curbside pickup 3 cheeses with 3 amazing pairings and then virtually join their Facebook live guided tasting. In addition to this they have online ordering and telemongers that will call you to help you shop and order for pickup - they led us to some amazing wine, beer, meat, and of course more cheese. We can't wait to try some of their live classes and visit in person when this pandemic is over!

Michael S.

Yelp
This is a great place for any lover of cheese! The staff enthusiastically recommended samples and we tried many different cheeses, all of them excellent. We brought home some delicious raw milk Seahive, a fresh baguette, and wafers from Lark who were giving out samples. The store is clean, spacious, and well kept. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I highly recommend. A cheese experience on par with Beecher's!

Nur K.

Yelp
This is just what we need more of in the Boston area. Curds and Co has an excellent cheese and charcuterie selection at very fair prices. The help and owner Jen are knowledgeable and helpful with selections. There are many gourmet shelf items to complete any cocktail party. Curds &Co is my favorite place to get my weekly cheese. They even have fresh burrata.

Gideon B.

Yelp
They treat kids very well, because when my son went in their they were nice to him and they gave him what he wanted which was a classic grilled cheese. I his words "one of the best grilled cheese's I ever had."

Matthew H.

Yelp
Recently founded in 2017, this homey cheese shop has a warm and inviting atmosphere. With plentiful samples to cheese from (I mean choose from), allow the expert cheesemongers to help you plan a perfect cheese platter for any occasion, from a romantic night with a loved one, to hosting a fancy dinner party. They also feature a variety of cured meats, jams, chutneys, and wines. I promise that you will never go back to generic supermarket cheese again!

Susan G.

Yelp
Yummy cheese and all the things you need to have a great party. Great sandwiches, nice people, great service, free WiFi.

Mackenzie S.

Yelp
Curds&Co is one of my favorite Brookline mainstays; they carry fantastic cheeses- both regional and imported- and offer all sorts of delicious accompaniments for your cheese board, from nuts to jams to chocolates to wine and more. They also sell cute kitchen and household products. The staff are incredibly friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I've attended a few of their classes as well, and they were a blast! They have adapted to the pandemic well and take safety protocols seriously, with capacity restrictions, hand sanitizer for guests, gloves for staff, an online ordering and delivery system, and even virtual "telemongering" and cheese pairing classes. I'm never disappointed when I visit Curds&Co!

Sara M.

Yelp
What a cute little shop! I stopped in to check it out and asked the staff behind the counter for their favorite cheeses. One that was recommended was the Harbison, which looked great, but was a little out of my price range. They offered to sell me half a wheel instead which worked out perfectly! I am looking forward to trying it tonight. Overall, a welcome addition to the neighborhood with knowledgable people!

Tiffani S.

Yelp
Such a great friendly staff! They were attentive and helpful with my cheese tastes. You can sample anything before purchase and their selection is vast and yummy! They've also got cheese boards, ploughmans lunches and grilled cheeses. It's a great little shop with local goods!

T J.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I had a delicious grilled cheese! Curds & Co. was well needed in Brookline. They have so many items for purchase to pair with the cheese or for other at home recipes. I enjoyed perusing and reading each item. It felt like I stepped out of the city and into a farm with all of their fresh products. Everything was eye-catching and overall had a very warm and inviting feel. Small TVs are mounted on the wall and you can watch cheese being made! I also think this will be a go-to place if you are looking for a unique/boutique style gift to give during the holidays. They sell an assortment of kitchen items. Check them out. You won't be disappointed!

Kylie H.

Yelp
This place was awesome! We got the grilled cheese with extra cheese and the grilled cheese with spicy tomato jam. Both were fantastic. We'll definitely be going back for that. We also picked up a couple of local beers, which was a big bonus. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Nina H.

Yelp
What a great addition to the neighborhood! I just walked in to check it out. I didn't have much time and wasn't expecting to buy anything. I was immediately struck by the interesting selections of jams and spreads that they had (like carrot cake and chocolate espresso!). I couldn't imagine pairing these with cheese as they claimed but when I asked, the owner (Jen) had all kinds of great ideas! I ended up buying them both and some cheese...haha! I had a lovely conversation with Jen and look forward to seeing how this shop evolves. I'm going to stay tuned for classes, tastings and special events. Can't wait to go back!

Tara S.

Yelp
This cheese shop is awesome! Great selection, friendly, helpful people, excellent cheese and everything that goes with it. They even have a few cheese based entrees if you want to stay and eat at the lovely large table in the store. I'm so glad that this shop opened down the street from me!

Sanditz N.

Yelp
Worth it. I really hope this company stays in business and I as a Brookline resident will do my best be a patron. I put my cheese decision in their capable hands. Okay, I haven't had the toffee I bought but I had the Stilton cheese and a secondary cheese recommended that if I like Stilton I should try this: Shropshire Blue. Oh my..... Thank you ladies. At the last minute, I remembered - Crackers!!! I was asked, plain or flavored... ummm.... Your choice period. Had both plain and garlic crackers she recommended. I did buy sight unseen but was worth it. The person who helped me said that they have tried everything. I was not disappointed. Looking for lamb sausage and Roquefort cheese. They added my name to a list. Let's see. Thank you, Sanditz

Lauren O.

Yelp
Great selection and wonderfully friendly staff. Let us try a bunch of cheeses. Thank you!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! All kinds of cheese and everything you could possibly need to enjoy it even more. The store is light and friendly. What a great addition to the neighborhood! Can't wait to go back!
