The Best Restaurants in Covington, Louisiana | Eater New Orleans

"This proudly queer-owned coffee house, wine bar, and sandwich, charcuterie, and sweets cafe was a hit from day one. Partners Anna Watkins and Amanda Birdsong opened Cured. On Columbia early in the pandemic and still managed to thrive. Open seven days a week, with live music on Sundays, fare includes a chicken chopped salad, a housemade veggie burger, and a chef’s smorgasbord meat and cheese charcuterie platter that’s a party waiting to happen." - Beth D’Addono

I visited this coffeehouse with a friend, based on a recommendation, and I just had to share how incredible the experience was! The tomato soup and grilled cheese were absolutely delicious — such a unique take on a classic pairing. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend ordering it and sharing with someone; you can really tell that the chef puts a lot of care and thought into their food. I went a couple of months ago, and I still think about that tomato soup! The coffee was outstanding as well; it’s clear they take pride in crafting a genuine coffeehouse experience, far beyond anything like a Starbucks. Every detail, from the quality of the coffee to the cozy, charming ambiance, shows just how much they care about what they offer. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Google
Coffee shop that goes way beyond. Great menu with breakfast items and especially lunch options. Glass of wine or brunch style cocktail just takes it a step up. Kids like the muffins a lot. Cute decor of an upscale coffee shop. I keep going back for the amazing three style Beet Plate. If you think you don’t like beets- try these! Also just tried the artichoke hearts in garlic butter with side sauce.

Exceptional fresh food, we got the Italian with homemade spicy tomato soup, the club and deviled eggs. Food was delicious, we were just a bit disappointed with the size of the deviled eggs for $9, but we understand the economy has raised prices, it was a delicious but expensive lunch.

Google
I just picked up an heirloom tomato on a quick lunch break today. The sandwich was delicious, the folks were kind, the ambiance was lovely - but my oh my, my little tomato sandwich was $27. I asked for an explanation and was told that it was because I added cheese - a $6 additional fee. I love this place but wish that they had some easy grab n go options that didn't break the bank.

Google
This place has been on my radar for some time and I regret not coming sooner. The Old Fashioned was textbook perfect. The correct cherry, a proper orange rind, nice big block of ice and not full of simple syrup. Was excellent! The Hot Italian was great. The grilled cheese and tomato-basil soup was on point. The real star of the show was the deviled eggs. The smoked yolks and pickled whites went great together and crispy prosuitto garnish tied it all together perfectly. I came here for a charcuterie board but there's so much other good stuff on the menu we didn't get to it so I guess I'll be back (often)!

Google
I absolutely love this hidden gem in downtown covington. The baristas are super friendly and their food is all made in house. The atmosphere is also very calm, making it the perfect spot to study or have a coffee date. Absolutely love their variety on the menu and their gluten free options!

Google
I love their tomato soup! I don't ordinary like tomato soup! But there's was Super delicious! The ....just wanted the soup but with a grilled cheese a@$14.00 you would think several cheese! But what u received was a dry 2 pcs. Of bread with maybe 1 slice of cheese! Way not v for #14.00

Yelp
My wife and I visited Cured. on Columbia today for lunch and enjoyed the experience. Cured is a coffee and wine cafe that features artisanal sandwiches and salads. Located in downtown Covington, it has an attractive somewhat trendy persona indoors and has a pleasant outdoor patio, as well. Ordering is at the counter and service is friendly and efficient. I had the hot Italian sandwich and my mate had a traditional Reuben. Both were good and were sided by tasty artisanal chips. Prices are somewhat upscale, but quality is good. All in all, Cured. on Columbia is a good spot for lunch or to meet friends when downtown.

Yelp
The food was delicious, with cured or smoked flavors in the items we ordered. Friendly staff. Nice customers. Like a coffee shop, with a very nice menu.

Yelp

Yelp
Great brunch spot with an amazing menu. Went with a small group for Sunday brunch, and we were thrilled with the service, the food and the live band. Not your typical breakfast/brunch menu aka omelette, grits, etc so check out their offerings before you head over. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Friends came in town and we ate there. Salads were amazing. One friend had the soup and it was wonderful. Ordering through us off a bit because we had to order from the counter and get our own utensils and water. Definitely not a fast food restaurant but having to do the above reminded of fast food. That in itself will not stop me from going back. Again, the food taste very fresh and was so enjoyable.

Yelp
Ordered a charcuterie board, was quoted 115.00. Go to pick it up, and add a 20%tip, and the total was 170.00! Come to find out, they added a service fee, and a handling fee that totaled about 20.00. So, on a 115.00 board, I was going to pay 50.00 in additional fees. The board was very sparse, I had to go home and add more of everything. Very disappointed in the lack of informing me about their additional charges, and in the quality of the board.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere both inside & outside in the backyard area. Nice coffee! Good service!

Donna G.

Yelp
The atmosphere was laid-back and relaxed, my chai tea and food were great! They have an area outside that's cute and on a good weather day it's a great place to hang out and have lunch.

Yelp
Best club sandwich around! Great daily specials and different options. Great coffee and staff as well.

Yelp
We chose Cured. On Columbia for our monthly lady dinner and we are super pleased. We had every item on the new small bites menu. The tuna sashimi and the deviled gees were stand outs! The deviled eggs were somehow smoked! and just amazing. The tomato tartine was fresh and delicious. For entrees we had the special of Brie, bacon and fig grilled cheese, Beets on Beets and a smoked salmon board. Everyone raved about their dishes. The Brie grilled cheese was perfectly balanced in sweetness and cheese and salt bacon. Cocktails are outstanding. Excellent acoustics. We could hear the music and also hear our conversation without raising our voices. Just a great selection for our monthly dinner.

Yelp
The staff is not friendly. Food doesn't meet the hype at all. Don't waste your time or money here.

Yelp
We spontaneously chose this cute shop to get coffee and boy did it not disappoint. I ordered an iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and my boyfriend got the dirty iced chai with oat milk. Both were delicious. Staff was friendly. 10/10. Welcome to NOLA!

Yelp
Had a business meeting in town today and met at this place to grab a bite and talk about plans. I had a black coffee and the hot Italian sandwich and it was so good it was distracting. I was self-conscious about how much I was enjoying that sandwich that I wondered about what impression I was leaving for the person I was meeting with. But in the end I didn't care. Holy crap that was a good sandwich...

Yelp
Absolutely love this eclectic coffee shop that is so much more than just a coffee shop! It is the perfect place to catch up on work with a honey lavender latte, grab a glass of wine with a charcuterie board, or order one of the tasty sandwiches or salads from the menu for lunch. They even have a cute outdoor area with bistro tables and lighting. I highly recommend stopping by for the coffee, food, wine, and ambience.

Yelp
I love the environment of this amazing establishment. A simple, delicious menu, wine and cocktails- I could stay there all day. The owners are accommodating and sweet. I look forward to my weekend visit.

Yelp
We love this place and visit every time we're in town, we're definitely coffee-snobs and the baristas are awesome, all of the staff are super sweet.

Yelp
Super cosy place! Although their menu is small, it compensates for having stellar coffee and pastries. The decor and overall atmosphere is very on-trend.

Lauren K.

Yelp
If you love good espresso drinks, Cured hits the mark. Went for breakfast and their specials were delicious. Service was great and comfortable seating as well. Highly recommend! Didn't have lunch but the wine list is legit!

Yelp
This place is amazing. Everything Downtown Covington needed in one cafe. Morning coffee... lunch sandwiches, soups and salads... grab and go's... cheese and meat boards... wine and beer selection... and a cozy cafe atmosphere. Highly recommend the cured club, the steak sandwich, lavender probiotic drink, lavender latte and the chopped salad. But honestly, you can't go wrong. Everything is so good! Great place to get a little work done, run in and grab a quick coffee, lunch dates or after work drinks & a board!

Yelp
My wife and I got two sodas and two sandwiches. With a 15% tip it cost 50 dollars. The club and the Italian sandwich were both very small. My wife's iced coconut matcha latte while delicious costed 8.15. This place is not really worth it as a cafe. I'd avoid it for being too pricey.

Yelp
The absolute best cafe in town! Literally the perfect place for coffee, snacks, and drinks! I love to spend time here on Friday and Saturday nights. Great wine selection, amazing boards, and great coffee! I definitely recommend the club sandwich, it is huge and delicious. The staff is great and the owners are so caring and friendly. I love everything about this place, from the food to the beautiful decor! Make sure to have a beer in their lovely outdoor patio, too!

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in downtown Covington. Delish food, great service! Dog friendly. Coffee, lunch, cocktails, they have it all!

Shelby S.

Yelp
Cured is a very hip, cool place in downtown Covington that I have been interested in trying because so many people rave about it. I ordered a club sandwich and was shocked that my total was $20... the sandwich was ok, but not fabulous. I took it to go so I'm not sure of the atmosphere of eating there, but to me, it seems more to be a place to be seen as opposed to having amazing food.

William S.

Yelp
Cozy little cafe, warm and welcoming and with the best coffee in Covington. The French Press is sublime. Lovely outdoor space as well.

Yelp
Excellent food and ambiance, well worth the visit, great beet hummus and super friendly staff

Yelp
Finally tried this charming cafe! I had a wonderful cappuccino and grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. I'm thrilled to have a place on the Northshore with quality espresso and Latte Art!

Yelp
We're wandering around Covington and happen to come across Cured. So very, very amazing!!! We did the hummus plate - variety of traditional, beet and black bean, all so good!!! Housemade naan is wonderful!!!!! We also did the cheese and charcuterie. Omggggggg, terrific!!! Great microbrew selection and wine, too. Great atmosphere, too!!! Can't wait to come back for coffee!!!!!! Thanks, Cured.! Hope to see y'all soon!

Yelp
The food is unusual which is a nice change from a sandwich for lunch. We enjoyed the food and will return.

Yelp
Wow!! I can't believe I found this place!! Perfect for a day of wandering and enjoying the area. The Lavendar probiotic they have on tap is delicious!! And, the BEETS!! Incredible, the honeyed goat cheese was a decadent (but not too much) perfect touch . My new favorite place for dining solo or with the girls.

Gretchen G.

Yelp
Great spot to hang, or grab a cup of coffee and go. Amazing backyard to sit out and enjoy some sunshine. So excited to have this restaurant in downtown Covington!

Jordan K.

Yelp
Coffee is fantastic and your life will be changed with one if their made from scratch croissants. Highly recommend!

Alexis M.

Yelp
Woah. Came in on the recommendation from a local as we just moved to the area. I got the grilled cheese board (with tomato soup) and it was the best I have EVER had- and this is coming from someone who get this as a comfort food or makes it all of the time and it was perfect.
