Curia on the Drag is one of my favorite cozy spots in Gainesville. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing, made even better by the beautiful jazz music that plays softly in the background. It creates the perfect atmosphere to unwind or get some light work done. As a big tea person, I especially appreciate their wide selection of teas. The mint tea with honey is a personal favorite. It is refreshing, soothing, and just the right amount of sweet. There’s plenty of outdoor seating if you like the fresh air, but as someone who prefers indoor spaces, I find the interior to be warm, welcoming, and ideal for reading or studying. All in all, a gem of a café.

I accidentally found this place on my way back to South Florida and I only stopped at the food truck… and let me just say- I’m going to make it a point to stop again when I’m back next month and actually go inside the coffee shop too! I got the Baja “fish” tacos and the best yucca fries everrrrr!! I’m not even vegan but this meal was on point! And make sure and check out The Auk Market in the same lot before or after your amazing food!

Google
Yay!! Love finding not just vegan friendly, but 100% vegan. And it's a collective of a few places. So. So. Dreamy!! Cute little space to hang out, study, write, eat, shop, and have a coffee/tea/beer/wine. Had the Crabby Patty from the food truck. OMG. Mmmmm. Love when I find dishes that aren't on every other menu. The guava and cream cheese turnover and cookies were amazing. Dad's Bar is a hip little place to grab a sip. And. The AUK market has loads of adorableness.

This place is so cool! If you have never been here before it is important to note that the food truck, the store, the coffee shop, and the bar— are all one business. You can sit anywhere. And the vibes are immaculate! 100% vegan menu. My vegan friend loved it, I thought the food truck was pretty good and the baked goods were amazing. 10/10 recommend if you’re in the area.

Google
Coffee is great and there are several baked goods to choose from. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of vegan alternatives (non dairy cheeses) but I can tell many people enjoy their bagel bombs. The muffins and pastries are delicious.

Google
Excellent coffee, laid back atmosphere, ample outdoors seating and a food truck after 11am (great loaded tots!). Thanks to a solar roof in the courtyard area there are lots of charging outlets for electronics and one space to charge an electric car

Google
i was in gainesville and thought this food truck may be interesting to try! it was a really hot day, so i picked up my food and left, but the truck was in a nice area with a lot of patio seating, and the person inside preparing food was really helpful! i ordered the curia reuben (i love to try reubens) and i appreciated that it came on marbled rye! i enjoyed it and would recommend it to fellow reuben enjoyers. i also tried the baja style tacos which came in a nice warm tortilla! they were super messy to eat, but i liked the cubed tempeh and purple cabbage. lastly i got the guava bbq loaded mac and cheese. the toppings were fun, i love picked onions and coleslaw, but i didn’t taste much guava or bbq flavors, and there was some oily residue that was not part of the sauce that gathered around the noodles. i probably would not order it again. overall a good experience, and i would love to come back and try their rachel sandwich!

Update: Returned and attended their annual Valentine’s Day Market on a cloudy day. Enjoyed the coffee and all of the vendors but especially the art work. Cool vibe and nice way to spend a part of the day. Parking can be harrowing but would definitely return! Really only got to see this from the outside but enjoyed the fact that all of the shops are connected and open up to a courtyard to recline, eat or gather… very cool place for sure.

Yelp
Dog friendly with tasty coffee and bakery treats! Cute little store and nice outdoor area

Yelp
Matcha is bad, unfortunately. Not ceremonial... possibly not whisked. Very chunky. My friends got caramel lattes too, pretty weak flavor. My mom enjoyed hers though. Cool environment. Nice staff. Plenty of space. Pool table is fun. I'll try something else next time. Still on the hunt for good matcha in Gainesville.

Yelp
After nearly four years I finally got a chance to check out Curia On The Drag. This place is hard to define: it's a bakery, an art space, a vendor marketplace, a podcast recording studio, a bar, a coffee shop, a food truck, a community event center. I came with a friend for dinner and we got food from the food truck, where all of the menu options are 100% plant-based. I got the mojo tacos and for my chosen protein I went with the fried fishless filet. The two tacos came on corn tortillas with pico de gallo, queso fresco, pickled red onion, mojo sauce, and lime. Each bite was so refreshing! The lime gave a citrus kick to the sweet pickled red onions. The fried fishless fish was tender and flaky like real white fish. I was thoroughly impressed with Curia and think it's one of the most unique places in Gainesville. Check it out!

Yelp
Curia on the Drag has such a cool vibe! The eclectic decor and laid-back atmosphere make it a great spot to relax. The coffee and food options were delicious, with a lot of unique choices. I get coffee and a bagel bomb usually if I come on an afternoon. From the food truck I've had their loaded tater tots, fried yuca,Mac n cheese and their black bean quesadilla. All have been hits in my book. I love how they always have different offerings and I'm able to try new items since I go every few months. The outdoor seating is lovely, though it can get a bit crowded during peak times. I always make sure to stop by the Auk market as well. Overall, it's a fantastic place to hang out, and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for a minute and I have seen nothing but great things from here. Curia on the Drag has a food truck that serves 100% vegan food items. I have been more trying to eat less processed food and being able to see the ingredients in what I'm eating. When walking up to the truck, there's a pavillion/outdoor area that you sit at and order from the QR code on the table. It's also a great place to meet up with friends for lunch, or even get some remote work done. The guys at the food truck were very friendly and had great personalities. They answered any questions I had about the menu. I saw on Instagram that they were promoting a vegan version of bibimbap. It's a Korean dish with rice and mixed veggies and marinated meat. So for Curia's take on the dish, they used beyond meat and layered it on top of rice, with cabbage, cucumber, shredded carrots, a sweet spicy sauce, and sesame seeds. Let me tell you, this was SOOOO good! The rice was cooked perfectly, it was almost like the consistency of sushi rice. I'm not the biggest fan of beyond meat because it has always given me that fake taste. However, the way it was cooked and marinated - it was so soft and chewy like real beef. I really enjoyed it alot more than I thought I would. The sauce was sweet, savory, and spicy and was like a fireworks show in my mouth. So many different flavor profiles but they all complimented each other so well. The veggies were a great addition that added a freshness about the dish. I was mad at myself for not getting any desserts or baked goods, but next time that will be on my list of food items to try.

Yelp
It has been a few years since I've been here and wow how things have changed for the better! Ambience: It's like Curia has its own plaza because there are now additions to this space and it looks so great! There is an outside-covered seating area, an eclectic store called Dad's, an outside seating area by a garden, a coffee shop, and next to the coffee shop a building that you can sit, study, and just hang out with friends. Service: pretty quick! Food: the coffee is great. They also have baked goods, a little refrigerator with some cold foods and other drinks like beer and sodas. I think this is a great place for meetings and writing. They also have plenty of parking!
google avatar

Evelyn M.

Yelp
Love going to Curia to enjoy a day outside. With all the outdoor seating it is a must when temperatures drop a little. Their pastries are tasty and their coffee is good. I have always had good interactions with their staff.
google avatar

Yelp
The golden oat milk latte was good. Milk replacements do not cost extra. Friendly service. There is a good amount of people in this establishment. Definitely come to this place for studying! There is an overflow space so there is more seating than the main area. I really like the ambiance especially how this cafe is hipster. I am visiting the area, but would come here to study regularly if I could!
google avatar

Diana M.

Yelp
Just a place to study, have a bite with friends and shopping. The food is served on a food truck and it was alright, price is not too bad. My tacos were quite filling, great for a college student. The service was decent and not too slow. The ambiance is mid but it's Gainesville, so I don't expect much anyways. As for the shopping store right next to the food truck, it is pretty pricey and would not buy anything.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
The food truck here has such a cute little outdoor covered seating area with a nice view around it and lots of tables. This time I tried the burrito, and it was absolutely delicious! The sauce on the side was amazing as well! I asked to add tempeh, and they were unable to fit it in the burrito, but they still have me a cup of it on the side at no extra cost! And it was delicious as well! Everything I've eaten here has been amazing and at a good price, I'd definitely recommend! The workers are always very kind and helpful as well, which makes the environment very welcoming and service is pretty quick!

Yelp
Great area for chilling and relaxing. This vegan community has a food truck that is delicious and healthy. A coffee shop is also there offering pastries, coffees and teas- Hot or chilled! The art shop has local finds and artisan crafts for sale. Definitely worth checking out! Bring your dog and laptop or blanket and leave the stress behind:)

Elaine S.

Yelp
We don't live in Gainesville so have not had a chance to visit Curia much. When we first went to Curia back in 2021 and the food was fantastic! The vegan reuben especially was the best I had ever had. We visited again in 2023 and still loved it. We are back in February 2025 for several weeks and could hardly wait to visit again. Unfortunately, the food was just so-so. The reuben had the smallest portion of sauerkraut on it you could imagine. And hardly any sauce. So you were left basically eating a tempeh sandwich. The TexMex tacos looked great but were really lacking in flavor. So sad.

Yelp
My tour of Gainesville's dog-friendly joints continues with a stop at @curiaonthedrag. Curia on the Drag consists of a all-vegan food truck, a coffeehouse, a student hangout called /protocol/ with seating, pool table, etc., and a boutique carrying local products called The Auk Market. I got a vegan BBQ slaw hotdog and it was delicious. It felt and tasted like a hotdog. If I didn't know better, I would've thought it was a regular meat hotdog. The slaw was nice and the BBQ sauce was smoky and sweet. I also got a side of vegan mac & cheese. Great creamy texture and kind of a nutty cheese flavor. Delicious! #gainesville #vegan
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
They have a food truck starting at 11am, so this review will just be on the food there. I got the Veggie Quesadilla with kbbq jackfruit ($9 with additional $3 for the jackfruit), and while it was being made, I browsed inside Auk market nearby. The food was ready in about 10 minutes and was piping hot and delicious! The sauce went perfectly too, but it all got pretty messy to eat at the end. Totally worth it though. Lots of outdoor seating available, and I saw many people there getting work done.

Yelp
If you want a good cup of black coffee that is of good origin this is your place ;-) signed...picky coffee drinker.

Yelp
The food was so delicious! We had the tacos and loaded yucca fries, yum! We had fun looking at Auk market while we waited.

Yelp
Found myself here on the way home to St Pete from a quick relaxing vacation in Savannah, Ga. My husband and I are always on the look out for local coffee shops with pure ingredients. After a couple of hours driving, I yelped a coffee shop and all my guides and signs led me here. I always follow my intuition and angel numbers. They always lead me exactly when and where I am supposed to be. I am suppose to experience such a creative space. Being here is absolutely inspiring and motivating to help in the assistance of creating something new and divinely aligned for self and others to come. Very blessed to be able to experience such a village. Fellow tribes curating the new cool. The new balance of life and love. Thank you!

Yelp
Curia on the Drag is quintessential Gainesville at its finest. Quirky, full of character, friendly staff, fantastic coffee. Everything a student is looking for and a place that represents Gainesville so well. They really do have some fantastic coffee and drinks, and over the years, has become a spot that I really love to visit while I'm passing through town. Their cold brew coffee has some really nice deep flavors and notes and really complements the food that they serve. Like, for example, their bagel bomb; essentially a stuffed bagel with eggs, cheese, and sausage. The bagel crust had that nice crusty exterior while also having that fantastic bagel chew. The filling was savory and rich, and by having it with a cold brew coffee, the flavors of the coffee helped to keep the food from becoming too rich and overwhelming. Curia, keep up the good work. You make Gainesville proud :)

Yelp
Walked into the front store, which is more coffee and snacks than anything! A small space that has indoor and outdoor seating. They have a few nice-looking salads in the cooler by the door. The barista was friendly, but busy. Had to wait a minute, but that was not a problem, as we were attended to promptly, when it was our turn. The Victory Sour Monkey Tripel was calling my name! We walked across the property to the food truck, and I got a delicious impossible burger and some mac and cheese to go with my suds. The food truck cooks were taking care of an order, when I got there, but I didn't have to wait long. The friendly tone of voice made me think the food would be good, and I was right. However, the mac and cheese can be improved. It was not special. The open area of people sitting at tables talking and using wifi, was a nice touch. An all-solar panel roof, brand new construction, and a cool breeze is what the doctor ordered. Great food, seats and service, but fix the mac!
google avatar

Patti M.

Yelp
The desserts are TASTY! The service is friendly but chill. The ambience is cozy and welcoming. I will be here soon to drop some work when I need a break from my office. I'm a little reluctant to recommend it for fear it will be overrun by hipsters and I will no longer find a seat to work and fatten myself up on delicious oversize slices of cake but alas, it's a business and they should reap all the green love they deserve. A Gainesville gem indeed!

Yelp
This is a really fun and cool coffee and pastry shop. Plenty of parking available. The coffee was smooth, tasty and well made. There is a large outdoor seating area where there was music. The indoor area was playing 80's new wave stuff which was fun to listen to for a while. Life is good with a fun and unique coffee shop!

Yelp
I love the open area! The quirky mural of the dogs, the little garden, and plenty of tables. On a beautiful Florida day, with perfect wind and slight shade, this is the spot. Thank the heavens! Today was one of those days. I've heard nothing but good things about this place, so I was shocked that the vegan brunch missed the mark. Can we even call it brunch? The food, I am not sure about it. I recall paying $20.00 for a Drag Lunch on a Saturday and wondering if this place made food. Included in this special event brunch was one mimosa and served in a plastic cup from Sam's Bulk Warehouse. Did I mention just one mimosa? We ended up purchasing champagne bottles for the table to compensate. This specific brunch also included a drag show on a Saturday afternoon. The drag show seemed like a fun idea, but the music was a bit raunchy for a daytime family show. Cool idea, execution missed some deets. Whatever this was on this Saturday, it left me so confused with the location's brunch food and overall lack of quality experience. I don't believe I would return. I think they have actual staff - the staff was almost nonexistent.
google avatar

Miguel N.

Yelp
There's lots of boring, chain restaurants and coffee houses out there. You get bland food, boring choices, indifferent staff and the money goes to the HQ in another state. Don't waste your time / $$$. Every once in a great while, something amazing will pop up, owned by locals, with great food/drinks and true hospitality. CURIA ON THE DRAG rocks! Give it a shot, you WILL NOT regret it!!!! :)
google avatar

Alesa W.

Yelp
This place has confetti scones and though I never tried yet, I love confetti anything. I came and didn't know they make the flavor on Mondays (usually, typically) and I was there on a Sunday! Anyhow I bought a cookie and a lacroix drink and omg that cookie was the bomb! Can't even tell it's vegan! It's was super yummy! I definitely plan to come back! Great atmosphere!
google avatar

Benjamin G.

Yelp
Yayay I love Curia it's soooo cute and there's so many different outdoor and indoor places to sit. The bagel bomb is a MUST. When I went on Saturday there was a market with so many cool vendors and I got a really cute bag

Yelp
My lifeline during the 5 weeks I stayed in Gainesville. What DIDNT I have? Try everything and anything! They won't disappoint. Might I add, the prices were extremely fair. My favorite order was probably the loaded tots + fish tacos. Though, anything from here is AMAZING. Also, can't forget the vegan + gluten free baked goods. WOW. I miss this place already. Also, huge fan of the yuca fries and the sauce they came with.
google avatar

Yelp
The fast, clean, PLANT BASED food truck closes at 8 pm, not 9; the wonderful, informative, friendly and gracious staff are always quick, honest and create delectable, scrumptious and satisfying meals. In case, you have never been here. There is a large, concrete-slabbed outdoor-dining area with at least 10 picnic tables (it feels like more - it's big) and a lovely wooden trellis (for lack of a better word) ceiling. This spacious area provides safe, social distancing and well-lit by strings of LED lights and the night's sky. It has a very cozy and charming ambiance perfect for great conversations with old or new friends. The cafe is opened until 9 for those late-night coffee and tea drinkers! They also have some nice pastries and amazing rice pudding inside. The Curia on the Drag compound is such a fabulous place to study, read or socialize. They also have a fantastic thrift shop with amazing, reasonably-priced finds and a dad bar. I think the art gallery, Protocol, might still be opened but I'm not sure. It's late. I will write more about the food I got later. The loaded fries (despite not having cheese) were amazing with the perfect amount of spicy for us who like A LITTLE BIT of heat. The sloppy joe quesadilla were surprisingly delightful with bites of spicy and sweet. The Baja Tacos were delicious, although I'm not crazy about the thin wraps. Haven't tried the BBQ hot dog yet. Also, I'm not Vegan or Vegetarian; I'm just a lover; a good-food lover. I'm going to watch Mulan and eat my hot dog now. Sweet dreams and may you always find blessings in anything. It just takes practice. :)

Yelp
Curia is my go to for sit down coffees/teas and pastries. My favorite place in GNV to meet up with friends. Super cool and unique atmosphere. I had a chagga chai this week that was incredible. The biscuits are addicting haha service is quick.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in town. They have a fun/funky aesthetic yet comfortable seating, making it a great place for a date, coffee with a friend, or even working remotely. The cold brew is AMAZING- so smooth and delicious! They brew Panther coffee from Miami which if you haven't tried, you should- it is terrific! The shop offers local food and beverage items including WellSpring Kombucha, a personal favorite.

Yelp
It was a really cute place to study or meet up with your friends! They have plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. It's less noisy outdoor if you prefer a quieter spot. The coffee was delicious but the banana muffin was a little dry. The selection of the coffee is pretty standard and the price is very reasonable. I was disappointed because of the food truck as they didn't open when we got there (1pm). They don't really have a big variety of bakery options if you don't like sugary food. The presentation of the food and drink they have are very well. There are some parking space but can be really tight. It was very difficult for my suv to back out because I was somewhat blocked by a truck parking across me. I would definitely recommend here, especially if its a nice day out but you have to work on school project with friends. It's spacious outdoor and the coffee is delicious.

Yelp
This place is an absolute must! It's in a great outdoor spot with tons of yard games and super chill vibes.. although there weren't any families there it was super kid friendly my son and young niece to run and play games! There was tons of seating both in the sun and shade which is a plus when it got a little cooler we just scooted to the sunny spots and of course the food!! Omgggg super fresh and delicious!! The yucca was fried to perfection! the fishless fish tacos were soooooo worth it!! I'm sure everything is good!!

Yelp
This food was no drag. With exceptionally well-made and absolutely delicious vegan food, Curia On The Drag brings a beautiful mix of flavor and culture in their outdoor location. This small food truck parked next to the Auk Market serves a wide range of vegan foods that anyone will love. Going there for the first time I ordered the Baja Tacos (with the fish less filet inside) and an order of loaded tots. It was so much food I walked out feeling like a loaded tot. Curia On The Drag is THE place to go in Gainesville for delicious vegan food and an ambiance perfect for artsy vintage fans.

Maggie H.

Yelp
It's a real shame. We come here all the time and the cashier today charged us way more for our drink. When I tried to explain, she shook her head, changed the price, and then said she'd never waited on me before and hoped she never would again. Now, I'm pretty sure that is not how you treat customers, especially when you value your job. It's a real shame if she's treating other people this way and giving a great vegan place a bad name. I didn't get her name but she was wearing a flannel shirt and had long wavy hair--probably 5'5" or so. I would highly recommend you relieve her of at least a customer facing role.

Yelp
This place is our favorite hangout spot. It's really casual and super chill. The staff members are really warm and welcoming and it feels like a really supportive environment. They just did a remodel so a lot of things are new and improved and it's great. They have a food truck-which is awesome-and they serve vegan-friendly options. The loaded tater tots are where it's at. But the food truck has a bunch of delicious options to choose from. By the food truck is a covered patio area with outside seating. There's also a big grassy area for kids or dogs to play in. Leaving the patio area there is the auk market where they sell some cool, eclectic items. It can include clothes, hats, post cards, soaps, pictures, or glassware. It has a little of everything. This is also where the bathrooms are located. Towards the back of the auk market is Dads bar. Where the bartender can whip up a good drink. We've only had beers and signature cocktails there-I'm not sure of what other alcohol they serve. Behind dads bar is another patio area with seating and an emptied out school bus that they painted. Across from dads bar/auk market is the coffee shop and a study area. There's seating inside and outside throughout. It's pet-friendly and really laid back. The parking can get a little tricky on a busy day but it's a super cool place that has something for everyone.

Yelp
The decor in this place is interesting, curious seems to be a fitting description given the name. The front building "On the Drag" is a cozy coffee and tea shop with quite an extensive list of teas to enjoy alongside a slice of amazing cake (the pound cake is anything but simple, it was exquisite) or change your bagel perspective with a bagel bomb. We literally fought over the last bite bagel bomb! There are multiple milk options to choose from as well. The back building "Off the Drag" offers a varied selection of plant-based lunches and snacks, or brunch on Sunday. We tried the tater tots and the mac & cheese. While I wasn't blown away by the flavor of either of these, I'm not vegan. My vegan kid however was very happy to able to order anything they wanted from the menu. There is plenty of room outside for the kids to run around the yard or explore the bus. When the weather is nice, I look forward to this being a great place for our diverse community to come together and unwind.
google avatar

Isabel W.

Yelp
A cute place to study with a buddy! If it's a nice day outside, I highly recommend grabbing a table outside as the inside is very small and limited with seating. I came here hoping to try the food as well as the coffee/tea but their food was closed on Tuesdays. I had the Thai Green Tea ($3) which was described to have floral notes. While it was very refreshing, the taste was too light for me personally which is why I gave it 3 stars. My friend had the matcha which was pretty good but lacked the real flavor I was craving after coming back from japan. I definitely want to come back to try the food!
google avatar

Yelp
Even if you're not vegan or on a plant-based diet, there's bound to be something that suits your palate. I ordered the mac n' jack roti and loaded tater tots. Not going to lie.. I was skeptical about the jackfruit at first. It does not taste like meat in my opinion but its texture gives you the feeling that you are eating meat. The BBQ marinade is slightly spicy so keep that in mind if you can't handle spice. The mac and cheese does help neutralize the spice, though. The roti is a bit overpriced considering you only get one, however, it definitely leaves you feeling full. The tater tots were delicious and crispy and did not taste like the frozen, store-bought kind. Apart from the restaurant, there's also a coffee shop beside it that brews local coffee. The outside is spacious and there are plenty of Instagram-worthy backdrops. If you're looking for a quiet place to study away from the crowded coffee shops near campus, this place is worth the drive.

Yelp
I enjoyed the vibes in this area. Coffee and art shop is a great time to chill! Next time I'll try their food!

Yelp
Such a cool place. A ton of outdoor seating and an amazing vibe. Vegan food choices are all so good. The loaded tots are my favorite and they have a kick. Great place to go for coffee or brews with friends. So glad I discovered it

Yelp
This place and outside area is a gem! So much seating and a great place to study. It's quite pricey compared to other artisanal/craft coffee shops and areas around town but worth the investment for guaranteed seating and a wonderful atmosphere, not to mention the pastries and teas were absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
All vegan and all delicious! I got the street style tempeh tacos and my husband got the fishless fillet tacos and we shared a side of plain tots. Nice outdoor space with a covering. It was night time and the mosquitoes were serious but that's not really on Curia.
google avatar

Yelp
Curia is solid all around. They have some of the best coffee in town and some of the best vegan food. My seven year old begs to get vegan burgers from here. Also big favorites with our crew are their pastries (muffins and bagel bombs) and I think they make the best lattes in town. When everything is open, make sure to visit Auk Market while you're there. Also keep an eye out for their special events on their property when it's back in swing. Such a great spot in GNV.

Yelp
Great place to study outside. I always get the cold brew with whole milk but treat myself to an iced latte if I need something sweet. The pesto bagel bomb is big yums! My friends love to study here!

Yelp
This place rules. I don't know what some of these people are talking about. Sure, there's a lot going on and it's a little confusing -- but if you just use your brain (and eyeballs) you can figure it out. They use one of the best companies for espresso (panther) and have plenty of seating inside and out. There's grab and go food in the coffee shop and the plant based food truck out back is delicious (check Instagram for hours) Also, this isn't a fast food joint. They're hand crafting your order -- have some patience and respect. It's worth waiting for. The vintage market has a fun and funky space to enjoy featuring some local artists and handmade goods. I came here for lunch and didn't get to enjoy dads bar in the back (super bummed). I will for sure be returning soon. Hip, relaxing and delicious. Enjoy!

Yelp
This review is for the Off the Drag restaurant part. The place has a nice, clean set up, & it has outdoor seating. It also has an artsy bus out back. Even if you're not vegan, the food is objectively good. The service is decent, & the food is definitely worth the price (which isn't bad at all). My first visit was with a vegetarian friend, & we LOVED it. We got the baja "fish" tacos, Mac & cheese, the falafel roti, & loaded tots. The Mac & cheese was decent & the "fish" tacos didn't exactly taste like fish, but it was still good. The falafel roti was bigger than I thought it would be, & the flavors were there. Loaded tots has to be the favorite though. They also sell some vegan jerky & Zapp's chips at the front. Upset this place is closed for the summer, but I'm looking forward to trying more once it reopens.

Yelp
Another unique place here in Gainesville. Found this place on yelp (thank you yelpers). It is a bit confusing though, since the first place you go into (facing the street) is called Curia On the Drag but that's the coffee shop. It has a few stools, a table, and a couch. There's also outside seating and it's dog friendly. We ordered some coffee and I decided to try one of those Kombucha teas. Yuck! Sorry, this is fermented tea and the smell will hit you in the face. Reminded me of a typical Puerto Rican drink called 'maví' which is made out of fermented tree bark. Although that one might be stronger and grosser, this kombucha tea was close enough. Not my thing but if you like it, they have a few different ones. However, we came here not for beverages but to eat Sunday breakfast as I saw some unique items on Yelp. I asked one of the girls working there and she told me, the restaurant Curia Off the Drag opens at 11am and we were there at 10:30am. Off the Drag is the place in the back. So we waited a bit. It was only like 6 other people plus our party of 4. This was great because any other place closer to campus would be an insane wait time to get seated on a weekend and especially during homecoming weekend. But even after the confusion and the thought of having to settle for a lunch menu when we really wanted some breakfast, it was soon lightened up with their delicious breakfast/lunch items that they did end up having. The menu items are all plant based but there aren't that many items. But all that we ordered was really good and my vegan daughter loved it. There was only one girl working, taking our orders at the counter. You seat yourself and take your number with you. They have self-serve water pitcher and compostable utensils. Another employee from the kitchen brought our orders with fork and spoons though, so we ended up not needing the other ones. The food looked great and we were excited. All were great in flavor and some were really spicy. When you finish, just make sure to bring your trays/cups to the front area on the side and throw away your trash. Overall, I'm rating this place 4.5 just because the portions were small. But we loved how unique it is with its indie and eclectic charm. Also, looks like they have some life music on some nights or other events, be sure to ask or check out their website. So if you're looking for vegan food and a cool place to hang out, go and check this place out. Update: 01/05/18 I bumped this place from 4.5 to 5 stars because even though we had gone for lunch without having eaten breakfast (we were starving) we could not finish it! Everything was soooo delicious, especially those jackfruit quesadillas! An absolute MUST TRY! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs so I take back my earlier complaint about portions. Portions are just right. Besides, one should not eat to be unable to walk afterwards. We ended up with cake & tater tots leftovers in a box.

Yelp
I've been a loyal Curia devotee for a year now! Every single thing on their menu is vegan gold and I could live off of their items! Their mac n jack + Baja tacos, the buffalo chickn wrap, the Rainbow and Asian noodle salads, the Harissa potato salad, the hot dogs, potato soup, the empanadas, the basically Taco Bell's cheesy fiesta potatoes (but vegan and much tastier), their brunch menu item of biscuits and gravy. Then go inside the cafe area for the best snack items: loaded bagel bombs, cookie sandwiches, brownies, those cakes! Their teas and coffees and local beer selection. I cannot get enough of this incredible always vegan experience, and you have the kindest staff in town!! Go to Curia, you might become addicted!!!

Yelp
I spend time traveling and love walking into a coffee shop that has a warm welcoming. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us and was happy to help with recommendations with the coffee as well as events they have going on there. The iced latte was made with one of their in home syrups and a bean they roasted. I enjoyed the decor from inside to outdoors. Five stars for us!
