"A big beer selection, lively patio, and nightly fish specials make this spot sort of like Salida’s seafood shack — only less breezy beach town and more cozy mountain tavern." - Josie Sexton

I ordered the strawberry lemon drop, spinach artichoke dip, and French dip sandwich. My husband ordered fish and chips. The bartender was our server. He made an amazing strawberry Lemon drop. The food was gross. Couldn’t eat more than one bite and I’ve never had a French dip sandwich I didn’t like before. Zero flavor.

Always satisfied with my food here. Highly recommend the calamari, mussels, salmon wrap, fried chicken, and chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie is a bit on the smaller side if you’ve got a big appetite. Great cocktails. Good service.

Our visit to Currents in Salida, Colorado was thoroughly enjoyable. We opted for outdoor seating and were delighted by the serene atmosphere. Noah, our server, was exceptional—attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The French onion soup was a standout, with its rich flavor and cheesy goodness. The fish and chips were tasty, although they could have been a touch less greasy for our liking. My wife ordered the veggie wrap, which was decent but could have used something else to make it truly shine. Overall, Currents offers a pleasant dining experience with its welcoming outdoor setting, delicious food, and excellent service. We look forward to returning to try more from their menu!

I visited Salida for the first time, and we happened upon this fine establishment. The appetizers were amazing. The mussels were fantastic, and were served in an amazing sauce! The calamari were fried perfectly, and the artichoke dip was delicious. I wish I could’ve tried one of every appetizer. I split a veggie wrap with my wife and added bacon to my side (my wife is vegetarian). The service was also excellent, even on a super busy July 4th weekend. All in all we had a great dining experience!

Food is great. Every dish, appetizer or entree, was absolutely delicious. I’d have the recommend every dish I tried. For appetizers, I recommend the spinach and artichoke dip that comes with naan on the side. The dip is super warm and flavorful and the naan is great. For entrees, my dad and I shared the fish and chips, which was SOOO good. The fish was perfectly battered and super crunchy. The fries were super crunchy and well seasoned too. My mom ordered the chicken borracho sandwich, and even though I didn’t try it, she really liked it. Service here was great. There were only two waitresses but they were fast and nice.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. If you can only make it to one place in town, this is the one to go to. Nice bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was greeted by the friendliest bartender I’ve ever met, I believe his name is Diamond. The atmosphere is lively and the patrons are friendly. I had a sour beer on tap and the sirloin, substituting a salad with ranch dressing instead of the veggies, with mashed potatoes. The side salad it came with was huge, and the picture I took was after I’d already eaten half. The sirloin was one of the tastiest steaks I’ve ever had, and the mashed potatoes were delicious, too. Diamond was so thoughtful he even rinsed and wiped off the outside of my glass because beer spilled down the side when he poured it. This place feels a little magical - everyone here seems to be in a good mood, and it’s definitely the place that would be “my bar” if I lived here. Will absolutely be back! Thank you for the wonderful food and kindness!

I was surprised at the reviews. We didn't find the food anything special. And based on the reviews, we had our hopes high. The lobster queso dip was great but $15 for about a half cup of the dip! And our crispy chicken wasn't crispy after they piled it with goopy mashed potatoes and gravy. Sorry, we won't go back...

Fish and chips were impressive. They were fried perfectly and the alaskan cod inside was delicious. The fries were crispy aswell. The seafood pasta was ok. The calarmi still had the membrane on which made it a little hard to chew properly. The beef pasta was decent. It had a creamy alfredo sauce but the beef was a little chewy. We also ordered a smoked salmon salad. Salmon protion was ok. Waitresses seemed busy and a little rushed.
