"Curry & Crust could just rely on the novelty of its most famous dish: pizzas topped with Indian dishes like palak paneer or tandoori chicken. However, the restaurant’s straight-up Indian menu has its own roster of devotees, thanks to its gently spiced butter chicken and chef’s choice thali. If Curry & Crust has some of its mithai — or sweets — on the menu, they’re worth an order." - Krista Garcia, Janey Wong

We went for the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet today. The selection was decent, with a mix of classic Indian dishes and a few Desi pizza options. Everything tasted fine — nothing too exciting, but satisfying enough. Overall, an okay spot if you’re nearby and craving Indian food on a budget. The lunch buffet is priced at $14.95.

Seriously, everything was phenomenal , the absolute best flavors! The mixed non-veggie platter of pakoras was delicious. The batter was so well seasoned and flavorful, my kids devoured it in no time. We got the lamb Tikka masala pizza, and it was So. Dang. Good! They were nice enough that they accommodated our mixed spice tolerance with half mild and half medium, the kids loved the flavors without the heat and those of us that had the spicier side found it perfectly balanced with the spices/seasonings and heat. It had crust that hit that perfect combo of crispiness on the bottom but still had a nice chew to it.

Google
Good and service was fantastic! I came in with my two cranky kids and they helped seat me right away. Kids under five eat the lunch buffet for free and $14.95 was well worth the traditional dishes, mango lassi and sweets. I will definitely be a return again.

The lunch buffet is available from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. At $14.95, including a mango lassi and fountain drinks, it is very reasonably priced compared to other Indian buffets. They also offer two types of pizza (vegetarian and non-vegetarian). Additionally, there are salads, fruits, rice pudding, and sweet balls for dessert. The staff is attentive and ensures that the dishes are always replenished. They also bring freshly baked naan to your table. We left feeling full and satisfied with the delicious food.🤤

Updated Review : 2023 Went in and tried the lunch buffet , this time around the experience was great and the food was delicious. Unique enough, would like to see more choices of meat and vegetable. Their butter chicken is great tasting. Naan bread without the butter topping is great on itself. Overall this place is a great alternative to the more established Indian cuisine nearby.

Going to this restaurant reminds me of being invited into a friend’s house and as you enter the door you are welcomed by the smell of a home cooked meal. I’m glad that they have lunch buffet again. I enjoy their food here specially the butter chicken, tandoori chicken and good paired with basmati rice. They also have mango lassi and chai tea that is included with the buffet. The staff is welcoming, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is clean and there’s plenty of parking.

Don’t sleep on this spot. Even if you’re not interested in fusion pizza, their basic pizzas are excellent. This is by far my favorite pizza spot in Hillsboro. It’s kinda tucked away in a hidden position next to winco but it’s worth your time. On top of that an 18inch thin crust is 27 dollars. Huge pie for the money.

Very nice Indian pizza place. As soon as you enter the Indian cooking, smack you right into your nose. 😊 Very nice and friendly atmosphere. Service is quick. Friendly team members. My husband and I love their Butter Chicken Pizza. Also, their vegetable platter, also yummy 😋. We will be back to try something else for sure.

Yelp
We love the pizzas here. The paneer tikka pizza and paneer makhni pizza are our favorites. We went to dine in a few days back, but did not really enjoy the ambience. Also, we ordered chaat for the first time but that was pretty underwhelming. Will continue to order takeouts but will not be dining in. Also, will be sticking to pizza in the future which they seem to specialize in.

Yelp
Lunch buffet here is a great deal for the price and the variety of food you get! Big parking lot next to the Hawthorne Athletic Club but it's easy to miss since the entrance is on the other side from their storefront visible from the Main Street. We were quickly seated and served water and a basket of warm naan. The buffet is in a L shape with the pakoras, rice, and lots of different vegetarian curries, and on the other side there is Indian pizza and the meat curries. The last section has fresh salad and fruits and the lovely Indian desserts. They have hot Chai and mango lassi dispensers so you can get as much as you want! It's not glamorous but I loved the variety and the drinks "on tap" Everything was flavorful and filling. The only thing is that some of their booth benches are cracked so they fixed up with tape but other than that the place was clean and service was quick and attentive. Go get your Indian lunch buffet on!

Yelp
My family loves Indian food. We looked forward to getting some for lunch while visiting Portland and this place had good reviews. Maybe it was partly the time of day (1 pm) but the buffet was just the dregs and very unattractive. The food was bland-especially the butter chicken. My grandson refused to eat his meal after a couple of bites. The food was not so fresh. Disappointing! The restrooms were lacking toilet paper and paper towels. No complaints about the service though; staff were nice. But we won't be back, sorry!

Lauren M.

Yelp
Omg yummy! The guy behind the counter was helpful in helping me picked out desserts I was completely unfamiliar with. You have to buy by the desserts by the 0.5lb but since this was my first time he let me just buy whatever the 2 items weighed! Very nice. This place was very dead for dinner, but they appeared to have a ton of Togo orders and I can see why. The pizza was delicious! Loved loved loved the crust. We were both obsessed with the Samosa Chat! We both loved the Palak Chicken pizza. Tandorri was good but we just favored the Palak Chicken.

Katie B.

Yelp
Curry & Crust is one of the few places that I know of that still do a lunch buffet, but quality has declined since pre-covid years. I just didn't enjoy the food that much - it seemed pretty bland and mostly sauce, lacking much paneer or veggies in the curries. The pizza had nice flavors but was underwhelming and tasted liked store bought fluffy crust. I may have had more luck with a la cart takeout but based on this experience I wouldn't be back. I would still opt for some of the thali lunch sets at other places in the area for similar prices, but better quality.

Annie T.

Yelp
Food is delicious. Customer service was great. The price for the buffet is shockingly affordable for the quality of food and all you can eat. Ambiance is clean, chill, and good.

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
The pizza was very good and the service was pretty quick. We ordered for takeout and it was ready in 20 minutes. We do wish the crush was a little more crispy but that can be done at home. The butter chicken flavor was really good. I like my pizzas saucey and it wa definitely saucey. The roasted garlic paneer was pretty tasty too. The chum chum wasn't quite for me but that was the first time I had it.

Yelp
We love Curry and Crust !! Here are some reasons - 1. Curry pizza! If you like pizza and Indian food then you will love curry pizza. They have American style pizza and that is fine but we go for the taste of curry pizza. When we moved her 5 years ago we worried that there wouldn't be any in the area. If you have never had it don't think about it being like American pizza, go in for a totally new experience 2. Fantastic service!! Everyone has always been very nice to us here, but they blew us away one holiday when we ordered for our family and we asked if we could have no tomatoes since our daughter is allergic. Most restaurants treat it as her just not liking tomatoes. It is not a common allergy but we don't like watching her fingers and toes turn purple and then having her have huge pain and have to run for the Benadryl. Curry and Crust went way beyond being helpful. They not only made the food without tomatoes but suggested we get our food right after there mid day shutdown so that they would be cooking in a tomato feel cook space ! WOW! 3. Buffet!! So glad to here the buffet is back. I isn't the largest buffet but there is a good mix of offerings and pizza. It is a great time to try different flavors of pizza. 4. Indo Chinese!! We love Manchurian Aloo or chicken and they have it and it is so good. Wonderful combo of taste and heat. Mr Mike loves cauliflower, but is normally not my favorite. All cauliflower should taste like this! So good 5. Quality!! All the food is made with quality ingredients and wonderful taste.

Derrick D.

Yelp
Did takeout here today based off some reviews on yelp and google. I ordered a few things : 1. Mix of paneer tikka and tandoori chicken pizza - I was comparing this to Canam pizza in Seattle and will say this is no where near the taste of Canam. There were very few pieces of hard and rubbery chicken and inedible. The paneer side was below average but the chicken side was worse! Definitely don't go for this. 2. Non veg platter of chicken and shrimp - It's just flavorless red colored chicken and shrimp fried in all purpose flour. I mean please, why is this even served! 3. Chicken Makhani with rice - very very below average chicken curry with few chicken pieces. The white rice was the only thing in all dishes which was good. Overall, NOT recommending this to anyone. It was a disappointing dinner. Good luck with your food choices here.

Yelp
Friend said let's get Indian pizza and I was so confused what that is. After trying it, I'm still kind of confused...It's pizza dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Can't go wrong with that formula and for the most part it's still good. But if I want pizza I'll get pizza and if I want Indian I'll get Indian. Not two in one... great idea though and done well.

Cory G.

Yelp
Excellent lunch buffet!!! Enjoy the owners and the great food! My family always loves this place!

Rebeqa H.

Yelp
Incredible! I just enjoyed a magnificently delicious lunch. We ordered the Paneer Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan and everything was so delicious. I was so full but I didn't want to stop eating! The Masala Chai is quite good as well.

Jenn N.

Yelp
I know I've left other reviews of this place. But seriously. Still my favorite Indian food. I cannot get enough of those samosas and the butter chicken and the Lamb curry and the garlic Naan. To. Die. For.

Kelly D.

Yelp
I had the lunch buffet and the food was all good! They had a decent selection and their biryani was great. They also had mango lassi and masala chai. The latter was unsweetened with sugar on the side to sweeten yourself and was tasty and a little spicy. I didn't try the mango lassi but a couple other people I was with said it was good. I've also had their food catered for a work event and really liked it. Overall the food was good, service was good for a buffet, and the ambiance was so so. The seating was tight for a big group (we had ~15) but we made it work.

Tannu S.

Yelp
We ordered large pav bhaji pizza and chili garlic paneer pizza. The flavors were good, the pizza base was home made. Though little thick for my liking, it tasted good. The place was dimly lit with not much open area for multiple large parties. The pizza were too large for 4 people to finish. Later the server told us that a small pizza is sufficient for two. I wish he informed the same while we were placing the order. Anyway, we had a good time and the food tasted decent too.

Joey F.

Yelp
Their lunch buffet is back. The buffet offerings are about the same as pre Covid. Three meat offerings and more than that vegetarian dishes plus pizza. One difference is they now include soda pop as well. All for $14.95. Their hours listed on Yelp are incorrect. They are open on Tuesdays.

Steven B.

Yelp
In the Portland area, Hillsboro seems to have the best Indian restaurants. Of them all, Curry and Crust is our favorite. I go to this restaurant any time I'm in the Hillsboro area. The pizzas are a bit soggy, but I think the curries are awesome. Great veg selection. Definitely recommend the Shahi Paneer, and the Paneer Taka Tak. Check this place out.

Andy K.

Yelp
This place is right across my work. I had been there before for their buffet that used to have both Indian dishes & pizza (with toppings like chicken tikka) but they stopped doing that because of Covid. Now that I work close by, I have visited the place a few times. I usually order their non-veg platter which has a meat curry, a vegetarian curry, lentils , rice and nan bread. The food tastes good and the service is great too. I will definitely be going there for lunch again.

Malisa T.

Yelp
Website needs to be updated that the lunch buffet special isn't going to be available from time to time... we were excited to come in and try, but left with disappointment Invited family who drove all the way from Tigard to try together and was told not enough produce was purchased and was let down I recommend calling in beforehand to check if it's available-- hopefully next time we will try it out and give it another chance

Ashwini R.

Yelp
This is probably the worst experience I have had in a restaurant. This is a regular spot for some of my friends to eat Indian style pizza. We ordered 2 small pizzas to go. Their small pizzas are 12 inch (as claimed in their website) When we went to pick up the order we noticed that the pizzas looker smaller than usual. We casually inquired if they had changed their small pizza size. The women in the restaurant, probably a manager or owner got very defensive and raised her voice and started to claim that they have never changed their pizza size and almost came to pick a fight with us without even checking for once if there was a problem with the size or with the order. We cross checked and showed her that the website claims the pizza to be 12 inches and the ones we picked up were clearly not 12 inch. She just would not listen. She just raised her voice and claimed that there was no issue. I was extremely disappointed with their attitude towards customers. They clearly do not care for them. The least they could do is be respectful and check if the order was wrong before getting defensive and raising their voice. I have attached pictures of the pizza and their measurement. They are clearly between 10.5-11 inch.

Yelp
I had the Channa Bhatura lunch box. It contained 2 pieces of bhatura with channa masala with was amazing in flavor. Came with a pickle, raita and a sweet of the day. This was amazing. So much flavor, so much food and I am excited to try something else from here. It wasn't too spicy and each dish had exquisite distinguishable palatable flavors. You have to give them a try.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Crazy good pizza and traditional Indian dishes. The pizzas are huge too! Definitely recommend

Namitha S.

Yelp
I feel Curry and Crust is definitely a comfort food place for your pizza cravings. If it's your first visit here, definitely check out their Indian pizzas. It is a hit even among my out of town friends. I got a samosa chana pizza (you know, I tried to be as healthy as possible. Lol.). It was absolutely delicious. They also give a side of curd if you ask for it. It would be really good if the restaurant offers thin crust pizza option. They also have combo offers going on. So, do check them out on their website before placing your orders. The takeout service is fairly quick. If you have an Indian pizza craving, this is definitely my recommendation as a 'go-to' spot.

Bassam M.

Yelp
Sonu the owner is great and the food here is really good and the prices are are competitive. It's wonderful their meat is halal! I would highly recommend them.

Mike P.

Yelp
I have several friends who LOVE this place. One who turned me onto the Roasted Garlic Paneer Pizza, and two others who recommended the lunch buffet. I have tried both and it's as good as they say. The common thread is that all three of them are friends with the owner. The service is great and the food is authentic with some creative fusion flair. Extra kudos for the helpful labeling of the buffet and their willingness to make items vegan for my son, such as unbuttered roti at lunch.

Cindy A.

Yelp
Curry and crust serves good Indian food in a pleasant atmosphere. Their lunch buffet is quite extensive and includes their Desi pizza. It is located right across the street from the Intel Hawthorn Farm campus and the max stops just a few steps away. The owners are very friendly and enjoy chatting with their customers.

Alison H.

Yelp
Still my favorite Indian place. Except now instead of dinner, I go for lunch! The lunch buffet is such a good deal. They have a wonderful selection and even have chai and mango lassi for drink options. Butter chicken, goat curry, lentil curry, saagwala, vegetarian and butter chicken pizza, and lots of dry roasted meat with yogurt.

Chan C.

Yelp
My favorite Indian buffet in Oregon! I live an hour away so I only get to eat here when in the area or I can convince my husband to go that far for lunch. They bring fresh naan to each table. They have mango lassi and chai tea out for as much as you'd like to drink. They even have there curry pizza out. The lamb curry was delish! They are very busy at lunch time.

David S.

Yelp
Very grateful that the buffet was an option. I had a reasonable portion size and glad to have multiple dishes to re-try after a ~2.5 year break. 5 stars because it's been sooo long! Normally I've been getting my go to items on pick up but grateful for variety!

Salenta F.

Yelp
Love the idea of Indian pizza and love the finished product even more! They are always quick too... never been more than a 20 minute wait for a pizza. We pick it up because we live close.

Rajesh K.

Yelp
I was craving some Indian pizza on a Friday and decided to try this place. Ordered the paneer tikka pizza for pick up. I stopped by New Seasons to pick up some hard seltzer lemonade and the pizza was ready in 30 mins or so. The pizza was good and I loved the extra raita they provided. I loved the tikka cream sauce and crust was well done. I would order pizza from this place again.

Patrick W.

Yelp
Going downhill fast, but it won't matter, plenty of local companies will keep this place going at lunchtime. I've been going here for a good 4-5 years now, it's just not the same, maybe new ownership but here's the summary. - no garlic naan except for dinner! Unreal! - 12:35p, dishes start running low, zero attempts to replenish! - butter chicken incredibly uninspiring, as in bland and chicken wasn't marinated in the sauce. - dessert didn't get replenished until a few folks asked + goat/lamb dish was quite good + I did like their turnip dish + their pizza I have to say still tasty + always enjoyed the mango lassi When there are 3-4 other places nearby I feel are better, it's hard to come back to this one. Maybe just a bad day, but it was a sunny beautiful Tue in late Spring.

champ g.

Yelp
Food can be hit or miss. When miss, you can expect things like rock-hard kofta or bad paneer. Lost few pounds due to food poisoning, so if you are trying to lose weight do eat here

Jacob B.

Yelp
I have been here numerous times for their lunch buffet, and have bought meals from Groupon as well. They were on Matt's list of restaurants that are delivering in the Portland area, so it wasn't even a question when I saw their name! Tonight I ordered dinner right from the yelp app, which was a great experience btw. I ordered a non-vegetarian entree and an assorted basket(naan). My entree came with palak paneer, daal, and a chicken curry. The assorted basket of naan came with plain naan, onion kulcha, and garlic naan. This dinner was better than I expected. The palak paneer was the highlight for me, probably the best I've had and I eat a lot of Indian cuisine. Then naan was also fantastic, hot and fresh as if the server brought it out to my table straight from the tandoori oven. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I don't know why their rating isn't higher. Now let me plug their lunch buffet and their pizza. They have an amazing lunch buffet, and for 10.95 it's a great deal because you get to sample their pizza and everything else. Their desserts omg! Who can say no to unlimited mango lassi?! But ladies and gents.... you gott try the pizza! Think of your favorite Indian dish on a pizza. The crust is amazing filled with herbs and spices, and the fact that I can get butter chicken or palak paneer on a pizza... mind blown! When things open back up around here, please stop by for the lunch buffet and try the pizza. If you are craving pizza but everyone else wants Indian, it's a perfect compromise!

Shauna F.

Yelp
Came in with a Groupon... got a couple of mango drinks, shrimp entree, pizza, and dessert all for $20! Friendly service and delicious food... we'll be back!

Rich J.

Yelp
They are buffet is back get there early and you will not be disappointed it's the best Indian buffet in the Portland Metro area if you don't feel that way well we have a different pallet I guess the service is great the people are wonderful try it you'll love it

Alex P.

Yelp
Curry and Crust is right next to my work so I might be a little biased about this place, but it is definitely my go to lunch spot. They have a great variety of choices during their lunch buffet. The majority of the dishes there are always the same but there are also 2-3 which always change up. Every single dish is fantastic and they have a wide variety of gluten free and vegetarian options. The butter chicken is my favorite and I highly recommend it to anyone. The pizza is a different style pizza but always tastes great! The staff there is very friendly and they make you feel at home for sure.

Chesley L.

Yelp
Just had the best dinner and experience! Lovely waitress and food quantity and quality matched the service. Glad we made the drive out there!

Anthony B.

Yelp
They decided they didn't have the ingredients to make the pizza I ordered and rather than tell me ahead of time, even as I waited at the front counter for them to finish my to go order, they waited to give me the rest of my order and tell me, by the way we only have half of your order but we refunded you the cost of the pizza. At that point half the family got Curry and Crust while the other half got hamburgers from Carls Jr. (pretty good 4 star experience from Carls Jr. by the way). Probably won't go back based on the half of my order that was actually fulfilled.

Aniket J.

Yelp
The taste of tue pizza is good no doubt. But, adter i placed my order via uber eats I explicitly called them and asked them to provide a side of dipping sauces. I think they mention they provide a side of raita, but i believed they noted down and would take a not of it. Unfortunately as you might have guessed i did not receive the raita. I was too hungry and let it go. But, this repeats for the second time in a row. I continue without having to call them. I dont know whether its an issue with uber eats wherein i dont see a text message box wherein i can specify this(since i have seen this for other restaurants), or whether the restaurant just never thought of actually listening to their customers. Will i be visiting them the 3rd time? Nope, sorry

Arnab K.

Yelp
This place has multiple Indian dish flavored pizza options. While I have tried such pizzas in other states, this place seemed average with respect to the others. Their toppings seemed to be on the lower side too overall for the prices they charge.

Brett P.

Yelp
Curry & Crust makes my favorite pizza... ever! Don't get me wrong, their Indian food (i.e. curry, tandoori, biryani, gulab jamun, lassi, etc.) is also spectacular, but their pizza is the pièce de résistance. My personal favorite is half tandoori chicken tikka and half roasted garlic paneer. Trust me, you haven't lived until you have had a paneer pizza. It can be a bit of a chore to drive down to Hillsboro, but 100% it's worth it. I can't recommend them enough. Besides their bomb dishes, they have a nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. And hey, they always have a riddle of the day posted at the front... So that's fun. :) The last thing that I have to add is that you'll often see Curry & Crust advertise on Groupon. If you're on the fence, look out for a curry, drink, small pizza and dessert deal. It's super cheap and will offer a sample of several items from their menu. Yummo!

Shannon S.

Yelp
I was ripped off, two things missing from our pick up order. Got home realized this, called them and they said I have to call Grub Hub to get a refund. No way to contact Grub Hub, the phone line said too busy to go through, customer support offline -- I didn't create an account with them to order and they offer no way to get a hold of them without an account. So now GH also has my cc info and I dont have an account?! There is no phone number or ordering system on the restaurant on their web site to call in. Realized Grub Hub also charges $2.00 more per item than if you order with a restaurant directly. A dinner turned into a massive chore since now I have to deal with Grub Hub. Never again with either of them.

Ann D.

Yelp
Crust was a little thicker / dense than I'd prefer but the flavor was great. Pro tip get half roasted garlic and half butter chicken.

Karnali P.

Yelp
Just went to try the pizza. The Pizza was decent. I will recommend. The sweets look so appetizing.

Ai M.

Yelp
Needed a quick bite and get back to a workshop - thankfully this location was just few minutes away! Especially after the cold front it's wonderful to taste the spices and feel warmed by Indian cuisine. It's a small and simple space, in which I was able to walk and choose from wide array of choices at a buffet. It's the usual selection of curries and rice, but I especially liked the naan baked freshly per customer that was chewy and moist. Chai has sugar and non sugar option, lassi was just mango and deemed sweeter than usual. What stood out the most is that each dish had a card with listing for vegetarian, gluten free, and if it contained nut or dairy, which was very helpful as I can't have dairy. Majority of customers were Indian when I was seated, and it was rather a peaceful moment even with children whom were well behaved. If I'm back in the area, I'd be delighted to come back again.

Paul C.

Yelp
Best pizza I never even knew existed, great selection and quality. I wasn't sure about this place when looking online, but I was more than pleasantly surprised

Jamakea T.

Yelp
Had a Groupon for this place or we otherwise wouldn't have driven out to Hillsboro from Vancouver. (Made a stop in Beaverton for some Asian groceries for added efficiency). This was some of the most lackluster Indian food we've ever had. The waiter was in a terribly irritable mood and would walk away from our table frustrated if we took more than 5-7 seconds to decide on our order. Maybe he was having a bad day? It did seem like he WANTED to give good service, but it just wasn't going to happen. The pizza dough/crust tasted like that of (quoted by my boyfriend) "Chuckie Cheese pizza" and the Shrimp Vindu Marsala was flavorful but did not taste authentic whatsoever. The pistachio ice cream was not somehow not Cold and tasted like that powdered camping ice cream that comes in a freeze dried bag. Very disappointing. Will never return. My boyfriend (who ate most of the pizza) immediately spent hours in the restroom. Might just be a coincidence. Maybe not. I wish this place success.... I love Indian food, I hope they work on their menu and introduce some higher quality service and ingredients. 3/10.

Christine M.

Yelp
We came when there was only one other couple in the restaurant and had to wait a while for someone to take our order then took an hour of waiting for food. My order was wrong but at that point I just took it so we wouldn't have to wait longer. The meat for both of our orders was dry and we asked for spicy and they came back and said they didn't do it spicy because they thought we couldn't handle it "because we're not Indian". Walked up to the counter to pay and waited 15minutes for someone to come help us. They then added in extra food we didn't have to our order and took our card instead of letting us see the iPad screen and swipe ourselves. We then saw it was wrong and the young girl (it's mainly kids working the place) couldn't figure out how to refund our money. That took another 15minutes and then her just saying "I think it didn't go so I'm just gonna charge you again". Bad food, high pricing, and even worse service.

Janet M.

Yelp
We ordered pizza from Curry and Crust through Delivered Dish. A palak paneer pizza, a butter chicken pizza, and a cheese pizza. It was expensive but I think Delivered Dish may augment the prices a bit. I liked the butter chicken especially. It was savory and delicious. The sauce was right and the chicken tasted good. The palak paneer was good, but my slice only had 1 chunk of paneer ( another person's had four. Humph!)It was also a little on the wet side. A slightly thinner layer of curry might be more effective. We got the cheese pizza for Princess. It arrived with a rather bland tomato sauce. She didnt like it. The rest of us thought it was adequate. The pizza came with raita, which was yummy. I think this was a fine experiment. I'm looking forward to going in person to try more of their offerings.
