The food flavors and presentation are beautiful. They are served in traditional serving ware and the spices and ingredients they use are fantastic. However, the restaurant is extremely small with maybe a dozen tables. So if you're looking for a quaint atmosphere, this one is perfect. You're looking for a larger restaurant not so much.
It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food, although it was served piping hot and full of flavor. During our meal, they brought two more baskets of bread to our table, even though we did not order them, so I thought it was going to be comped. I found out later when I got the bill that we actually were charged for the additional baskets of bread if I've known that I would've sent them back because we had way too much for our table.
However, after the meal we were to pay with credit card and they handed me the credit card machine asking how much tip I wanted to put on the meal. All I saw was the total, and I felt that the total was a little high. I proceeded to add 18% tip and asked for a receipt and they said they did not have paper copies that I could either be emailed or text to me. I chose the email option when I looked at the categorized receipt when I got in the car, I saw where there was a technology fee of almost 6 dollars and 18 percent service fee added to my total. Also, we were charged for the extra bread and then they asked for a tip on top of that. So it seems like I paid 36% tip. when meals on average are $18-$20 at a restaurant and then there's a service fee plus technology fee plus other amounts you weren't expecting it adds up extremely fast. For five of us to eat four entrées, a soup, all waters, one fruit juice, and the four bread baskets of which we only ordered two it was $185 total complete payment . I don't know what the service fee was for, but that should've covered the tip. I could not see the service fee either when I went to pay because they only showed the final price and asked me how much tip I wanted to add to the total. As much as I love an experience. I still am a little upset that my total bill was about $45 more than it should have been, but I didn't realize it until I had left.
