Sizzle Hut is on the Way | Eater Vegas

"A Japanese- and Thai-inspired curry restaurant located in the northwest, this operation is one of the parent businesses behind a forthcoming DIY hot-plate meat concept and is affiliated with the same team that runs a Spring Valley boba shop." - Bradley Martin

Great. Very welcoming as soon as you walk in. The smells from the kitchen could lift you off your feet and seat you at a table 😆 😋. I recommend you try everything. We had two types of curry chicken and Naan but can wait to go get another dish 😋 If your in the area and you love want to try or have never tried Indian Cuisine, pull up on em and get delighted.

Google
My recent dining experience at was a delightful dive into Indian cuisine, highlighted by the flavorful Shrimp Kadai and Chicken Hyderabadi served with perfectly charred Tandoori Roti. The Shrimp Kadai was a spicy, tangy delight with tender shrimp in a robust tomato-based gravy, while the Chicken Hyderabadi offered an, aromatic contrast flavor with Indian spicy gravy. The Tandoori Roti, soft yet crisp, was the ideal companion to soak up both dishes. The attentive service and cozy ambiance made the meal even more enjoyable, leaving me eager to return for more of their authentic offerings

Stumbled upon this charming little restaurant in the heart of Augusta and it turned out to be just what I was craving! Authentic Indian dishes, warm ambiance and great value for money. Couldn’t have asked for a better comfort meal 🍛💛

Google
Let me start off by saying, the hospitality and service was beyond amazing. I had dined in after recently breaking my elbow and they took such good care of me. The food was amazing, i haven’t had samosas so good in a very long time. By far the best Indian food in the area by a mile.

Tabitha D.

Google
Great Indian food! The service was excellent. The food was delicious. No complaints at all! We ordered the chicken samosas which had a delicate and crispy pastry on the outside. The inside was packed with filling and flavor. All the food seemed very fresh and homemade. The garlic naan was delicious as well. I ordered the mango chicken curry. Very tasty and the portions were larger than they seemed. We will definitely be back!

Jessica W.

Google
We have come here so many times and every single time it has been an amazing experience. The food is delicious, we have never gotten anything we did not enjoy. It’s authentic, the staff is helpful and attentive. If you love Indian food this is a must try.

Google
Fantastic service and food. The decor is so pretty and the servers know every dish and give good recommendations. Be warned when they say "spicy" they mean it. But there are lots of mild options... The food itself is flavorful and rich and so good, I've gone back 3 times now. I got the lamb vindaloo (which was a little too hot, but I loved it anyway and couldn't stop eating it), the butter chicken, and the tikka masala. Overall best indian place I've been to in my life.

Marc D.

Google
Been here twice and don't know why it took me so long to come back. The food is absolutely excellent, the atmosphere is great (AC could be turned up a little), and the service is always professional and courteous. I definitely recommend coming here for exceptional Indian food.

Yelp
Good food Need a little more variety . I am lactose intolerant, so the choice of a meal was difficult because most meals were made with yoghurt or some form of dairy! But eventually we found something I was able to eat without an allergic reaction.

Yelp
The feel of this restaurant was very serene. With only one waiter serving everyone when we got there, he moved swiftly. He was up front about our possible wait time due to online orders which we appreciated. The food tasted delicious once received. It had the perfect amount of heat, spice, and ample flavor. I am thankful that after years of visiting, it still has the same great taste. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Best. Indian. In. Augusta. Tikki masala and Chicken Korma. Outstanding. Perfect spice and tender chicken. Samosa chaat was tantalizingly good a

Yelp
Had curry hut the other day with some friends. I was primarily looking for some northern indian style food since the places I've had here such as persis/namaste seemed to specialize in more south indian style foods. I ordered the butter chicken, lamb korma, goat biryani, saag paneer along with some naan Lamb korma (4/5): I always enjoy lamb korma and this one was solid. Decently creamy with a slight sweetness. I like that korma is mild with a subtle amount of nutty flavor, and there were a decent amount of lamb chunks Butter chicken (3/5): The butter chicken was thick here and definitely had a kick to it. They were also generous with the amount of chicken pieces here although the pieces could have been a bit more tender. My one issue I had with this dish was that the sauce was super sweet compared to any butter chicken I've had in Houston or other cities. Not sure if it was a batch issue but it was like a normal butter chicken with an extra spoon or two of sugar. I would probably order a different curry in the future. Saag paneer (4/5): Saag paneer is always a nice basic side when eating Indian food with a larger group. Plenty of paneer chunks and mild in flavor, a safe go to as a vegetarian curry. Goat biryani (4/5): Great biryani, nicely fragrant and like the other dishes in curry hut, a strong kick to it. Aagin with a decent amount of goat chunks and a nice changeup from the curry dishes. The yogurt helps with subduing some of the kick and you can probably ask for mild for this dish or any other ones if spice is a concern. The naan we ordered were decent in portion and puffy, although they could have been a bit more buttery. Overall a solid spot that definitely scratches the itch for Indian food. Prices were fair as well and service was solid. Would return if craving it and try some other curries.

Yelp
The food was amazing! It was spicy and tender and beautiful! The service was great, our waters were always full and the staff was really kind when we added a to-go order in the middle of the rush. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, it feels warm and welcoming and private even in a room of people.

Yelp
Curry Hut offers a different regional take on Indian cuisine than I'm used to, which made for a fun and flavorful change. The menu has a great selection, especially if you're vegetarian--plenty of options, and they're happy to prepare vegan dishes too. It's a solid spot with something for everyone, whether you're familiar with Indian food or trying it for the first time. The staff is friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even better. A nice local find for anyone looking to explore new flavors in Augusta!

Yelp
The place reeked of curry! The service wasn't bad, but the food was awful. The ambience was curry, curry, curry!!!

Yelp
The food flavors and presentation are beautiful. They are served in traditional serving ware and the spices and ingredients they use are fantastic. However, the restaurant is extremely small with maybe a dozen tables. So if you're looking for a quaint atmosphere, this one is perfect. You're looking for a larger restaurant not so much. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food, although it was served piping hot and full of flavor. During our meal, they brought two more baskets of bread to our table, even though we did not order them, so I thought it was going to be comped. I found out later when I got the bill that we actually were charged for the additional baskets of bread if I've known that I would've sent them back because we had way too much for our table. However, after the meal we were to pay with credit card and they handed me the credit card machine asking how much tip I wanted to put on the meal. All I saw was the total, and I felt that the total was a little high. I proceeded to add 18% tip and asked for a receipt and they said they did not have paper copies that I could either be emailed or text to me. I chose the email option when I looked at the categorized receipt when I got in the car, I saw where there was a technology fee of almost 6 dollars and 18 percent service fee added to my total. Also, we were charged for the extra bread and then they asked for a tip on top of that. So it seems like I paid 36% tip. when meals on average are $18-$20 at a restaurant and then there's a service fee plus technology fee plus other amounts you weren't expecting it adds up extremely fast. For five of us to eat four entrées, a soup, all waters, one fruit juice, and the four bread baskets of which we only ordered two it was $185 total complete payment . I don't know what the service fee was for, but that should've covered the tip. I could not see the service fee either when I went to pay because they only showed the final price and asked me how much tip I wanted to add to the total. As much as I love an experience. I still am a little upset that my total bill was about $45 more than it should have been, but I didn't realize it until I had left.

Yelp
This place is very cozy and comfortable on the inside with plenty of tables for a variety of party sizes. The menu is massive with tons of options that make it hard to order, but I decided to get the chili chicken and it was spicy but not too spicy and it had a lot of flavor. My wife got the butter chicken which was my 2nd option but we could share between the 2. The chicken was very flavorful and the sauce paired great with the garlic naan bread we got. We also got the chili naan but it is not like the chili used in the chili chicken, just small green chilis which was kind of disappointing. The staff was great and very helpful with picking out dishes based on what type of food you were looking for as well as describing some of the more unusual entries not seen at most restaurants. This place is not a fountain drink type place and uses bottles, so refills will likely cost extra but I didn't get another to find out. Great atmosphere and good food, hit the spot for sure and will likely be back to try some other tasty dishes.

Yelp
The food is amazing!!! There could be more meat portions BUT the flavors are on point. If I could afford it I would eat there several days a week.

Yelp
Curry Hut is a staple in our house! Me and my fiancé go here all the time and every time the food is amazing. You can choose your spice level on most dishes (I always get mild and he gets the spiciest) so it's amazing for those who don't live the spice life like myself. The owner is wonderful and remembers us each time we come in and greets us like we are close friends or family. The atmosphere is amazing with the tiny decorations and soft lighting. This is a 100% recommend to anyone I meet.

Yelp
Maybe I should looked through these reviews prior to eating here. For those of you reading, THE MOST RECENT REVIEWS HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE. The average rating is based on the amount of ratings in this past year. These guys are swindles, charging me an extra $3.80 for protein? Look at the picture that I provided, it's my receipt vs the cost for added protein on their website. Stealing $1 per order throughout the day can make a huge difference. Their service is absolutely aggressive, they have a lot of demands from customers & if you keep this up, someone else isn't going to be so calm & react differently. Not worth the tip either, I'm sorry. Also, manager scolding your employee in front of the whole restaurant is embarrassing. Clearly just aggressive management. Doesn't make you look any better, you're the manager here & that's how you treat employees? That's embarrassing. Highly recommend a new shift in staff or at least service. For the amount of food you receive for what you pay for, you're better off going to a different Indian cuisine. Service took 40 minutes for me to receive my food. My sister's food was just sitting there & it's been ready & we got her food 50 minutes later.

Julio A.

Yelp
Service and food were great. As you walk into the restaurant you can smell the spices and the decor created a great ambiance. Portions might've been slightly smaller then expected but overall a great dining experience.

Yelp
It really does look like a hut, but while the parking lot could use some resurfacing, the place is pretty solid and well-decorated on the inside. My ginger tea was fine, but I was a bit miffed that I asked for water with it and didn't get any. The okra I ended up with was a really fantastic dry fry with little spices and herbs, but I ended up having to wait for a while before someone circled back around with water. This was recognized as an issue and the owner offered me a free dessert (which I simply didn't have room for). My aloo tikki chaat had a lot of fresh veggies on top, but the tikki itself wasn't warm and there wasn't an enormous amount of it under there. Oddly, when I asked about their dosa I was originally told they didn't have it, but then on follow up with the owner I was told that they didn't have proper equipment or a South Indian expert chef so they couldn't make a real dosa, they just do little ones. He didn't want to give me anything I wouldn't like, to which I say fair enough, but why bother having it on the menu at all if you don't believe in it? A few tew many hiccups for a five-star review from me, but there was certainly enough quality here for me to want to come back.

Yelp
Excellent hospitality and heavenly food! Thank you, Rick for your expertise. I will be definitely be back!
google avatar

Thalia M.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! Right when I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff. They gave great recommendations and explained each dish. I started with veggie samosas and spinach pakoda, which came with two tasty sauces - cilantro mint and tamarind. For my main meal, I tried the mango chicken curry and chicken tikka masala, and they tasted super close to authentic Indian food. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it's warm and cozy. I'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Natasha R.

Yelp
This was a surprisingly good place for Indian food in Augusta! The chef was super sweet and accommodating- he explained everything on the menu in detail and was able to make great recommendations. The food was also great for Augusta, and was brought out quickly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quick Indian bite in the city!
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
The food is always amazing here. I had the shrimp tiki masala. It was so good I was making mmmmm noises. The whole meal was excellent as well. So crispy and Greasy both at the same time just like I ordered it!!
google avatar

Shannon X.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for Indian food in Augusta. Their staff are super friendly and help you when you're debating what to get. I love their paneer tikka masala and garlic naan. They have spice-level options so anyone can enjoy their food! We also got their rasmalai and it tasted super similar to ones that have been homemade! Will be coming again for sure!

Mw P.

Yelp
Just an update: The website for Curry Hut is not valid. The menu prices are incorrect and they do not have a lunch buffet. Use the pictures of the menu that I have included to place your orders. They're open from 11 to 230 and 5 o'clock till 10 o'clock every day except Tuesday when they're closed.

Russell V.

Yelp
Med. Spice Level Butter Chicken from Curry Hut is the BEST BITE IN AUGUSTA. Simply the best Butter Chicken I've ever had. I've ordered it 8 times in a row. Get Medium spice level, not Mild, it has more to do with flavor than just the heat aspect. They probably have other amazing dishes but I can't get pass the Butter Chicken. Great ownership too, the guys in there are really nice. Don't be fooled by the exterior. Trust me, thank me later. Butter Chicken, Medium Spice Level. Do it. Do it, now.
google avatar

Ginny G.

Yelp
We've dined at Curry Hut several times. We love the food and the family is wonderful. So I'm completely shocked about our recent experience. Everyone is aware that using door dash will cost more. The business has to cover some additional cost so often the prices are marked up. But to not Include rice in your delivery/pickup orders and not communicate that is wrong. I called and the business/owner was firm and all he could do was say sorry but that's our decision on how to handle door dash. We spend over $175 for the food and to not have rice and to also have paid $4.50 to only receive a 2 oz container of mango chutney that wasn't even full is wrong. Horrible experience and bad business. We unfortunately will not be returning along with the other 2 families we had join us for dinner . If your looking for another place we have also enjoy Taj of Indian .
google avatar

KayLeigh L.

Yelp
Love coming here for a date night or meeting a group of friends. The interior is small, I recommend making a reservation if your party is more than 4 people. They have the best Indian food in Augusta, in my opinion. The staff is so friendly and will advise you on flavors and spice level if you are unsure. Pro tip- ask them what their favorite dish/drink is! Tried something new tonight and it was delicious.
google avatar

Maria S.

Yelp
I have heard so many people rave about this restaurant and now I know why! I used to frequent Taj of India whenever I craved yummy spicy Indian food (they are still very good), but Curry Hut may just be my new favorite. The outside looks like an old Taco Bell but don't let the looks sway you from coming in. The inside is a bit on the smaller side but we didn't have to wait long for a table. We Came on a Saturday during lunch. The naan, butter chicken, and lamb curry were some of my favorites, they also have wine and good beer election. I would frequent it more often if it wasn't so far away! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
The atmosphere was cozy and intimate. The servers were quick, attentive, and offered excellent recommendations. Additionally, the food was absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend this place for a romantic date.
google avatar

Zachariah S.

Yelp
First time coming after all these years and I really enjoyed it. We started off with lamb somosas. They were flaky and the lamb in side was very good. They come in an order of two. We then had the Briyani deluxe. This has chicken, lamb, and shrimp. We ask for medium spice and it still had a good kick. Very good. We also had chicken Marsala. It was really good as well, seasoned very well. Finally we had the the butter chicken. Always a hit and definitely good here. Seemed to rather small but still very good overall. The garlic naan was also very good and actually pretty large. I was actually very impressed with it. It was fluffy and still had the burnt bubbles, great for dipping in the masala and butter chicken gravy. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I would recommend anyone who likes good food to try this place it.
google avatar

Lida P.

Yelp
For this establishment I will say never judge a book by its cover because I enjoyed coming here until recently. Since new management/owners took over I am a bit disappointed. Not only did the quality of food go down, the portions did as well. I also don't like that management collects all tips and distributes it amongst its employees. This a sit down server style restaurant - tips belong to the servers not management to decide. I wanted to tip the gal who was refilling our water and she refused to take cash bc she would get in trouble. I also notice they add tip to checks which sometimes results in double tips bc patrons don't review receipts bc they are on electronic systems now. Very dishonest practice and for that reason alone I will not return to this establishment. I haven't had any bad experiences with wait staff and I wish them the best.
google avatar

Carolina M.

Yelp
So delicious!! really comforting authentic food from India with exceptional staff. There was a nice atmosphere (actually quite not overwhelmed by tvs screens and multiple sound sources) good mix of patrons seated inside and a steady stream of take out orders while we were there. Excellent vegetarian and vegan options! Honestly, I slept so well that evening and I think it was because of the spicy deliciousness. We ordered the eggplant masala, paneer tiki masala, mint roti/ bread, ginger tea, and rice pudding. My husband who doesn't like eggplant left asking me to learn how to make their eggplant dish. Ha! We will be back for sure!

Praveena B.

Yelp
I would give 0 if I could! Tried ordering Egg Biriyani and they gave a long speech about how their food is fresh from scratch abc it would take 45 minutes to get it... so I order basic Idli, I get it in 10 mins - except - it is FROZEN - not even heated and thawed fully! So much for fresh food! Don't believe any of the freshness nonsense!
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
This is one of my wife's and my favorite places in all of Augusta! It's gotten to where I don't even open the menu. Everything is so good that I just ask the server what the chef recommends and I just go with that. And everytime, it's amazing! The spices! The flavors! The warmth of the dishes! Seriously, if you're a fan of curry, this needs to be on your list!
google avatar

Brittany W.

Yelp
Phenomenal flavors. Our dishes have been fresh and fragrant. We've recently moved from suburbs of Atlanta to South Carolina, in the sticks. And we've been missing our favorite spot back in Atlanta... thankfully work brings us into Augusta, and we've found Curry Hut. As my opening mentions, everything is incredibly flavorful and fresh. We have loved everything we've ordered here. Some of our absolute favorites: Samosa Chaat (a cold salad-like appetizer). Hakka Noodles, Chicken madras. The naan is also very delicious. Today we tried the cheese. It's worth a few extra coins, splurge for it! Service is always top notch, friendly and clean.
google avatar

Miles S.

Yelp
The food is top notch! Best Indian food I've tried this far and a big fan of all the dishes Ive tried this far. Service is extremely great as well. I get food from there almost every week.

Ragnor V.

Yelp
Every time I eat here, I'm reminded that it's the best meal I've ever had. Just unbelievably good. Everything I've had here has been good, but the absolute must haves are Samosa Chaat and Badami Murgh with garlic naan. I've stopped ordering anything else on the menu, as nothing has come close to beating those dishes.
google avatar

Bridgette W.

Yelp
I've been going here for YEARS and it's still hands down the best Indian food in the CSRA
google avatar

Adam K.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had a great time here. Really calm and comforting environment, music was tasteful and the low light gave an intimate dining experience. We had the Lamb Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala. It was a big portion of delicious and tender biryani. The garlic naan and onion naan were fresh, fluffy, and crispy. Mango Lassi was super smooth and thick. Chicken tikka masala was creamy, buttery, tender and really tasty. We asked for our food to be spicy and it sure was! Our waiter was very kind and patient. We will be returning soon!

Trish D.

Yelp
the food was great! I will admit the vindaloo chicken was spicier than i thought it would be but i was warned! will be back looking for less spicy! but everything was hot and fresh. new favorite place to go.
google avatar

Sonya E.

Yelp
Great food, service, and ambiance! Ordered: chicken, shrimp & lamb biryani dish, chili shrimp, and butter chicken. I can't forget the bread basket... all delicious! I will be returning!
google avatar

Dale H.

Yelp
You can't get better Indian food, unless you go directly to India. We order or eat at Curry Hut every time we are in the Evans/Augusta area. The food is so fresh, so delicious. The flavors and seasonings are perfect. The staff are always friendly and very welcoming. THANK YOU CURRY HUT! We love you!
google avatar

Danie R.

Yelp
So I've only ever had the buffet but I loved all the food I ate. The people are so nice too, making sure my friend had vegetarian options. I feel like they went above and beyond.
google avatar

Letayia A.

Yelp
LIKES: Let me start off by saying that the chicken tikka masala was amazing! I got the medium spicy flavor because I wanted a kick to it The food was fresh and the quantity I got was a nice portion as you can see. The rice was perfectly cooked to me. I don't like hard nor soft rice so the texture was immaculate I loved the garlic naan and the raita was alright. I also got the Mango Lasse ....PERFECTION! (Tastes just like a smoothie but smoother and better). DISLIKES: I also got Lamb samosas, I am not a fan of them as they are so similar in ground beef and it tasted a bit bland. The sauce it came with I did not like at all. It did taste a bit better when I dipped it in the raita but after a while the cucumber in the raita overpowers everything! Overall I would recommend it. I definitely will go back to try the butter chicken and some dessert.
google avatar

Malia Y.

Yelp
Such a cute little place! Seating accommodates probably 25 people which isn't a whole lot. I ordered the lamb biryani and garlic naan while my friend had the regular naan with lamb vindaloo. The lamb was so tender! The way they presented it with the sauce on top made the portion seem not worth $16, but it's an illusion! I've got enough left for lunch and dinner tomorrow!!! I ordered it medium spice which provided a lingering kick...if you can handle heat, I think I should've kicked this up a notch. The yogurt sauce was mediocre-watered down more than I expected. My friend had also ordered the vegetable samosas which aren't pictured, but I loved these! The naan was a disappointment. It felt more like a cracker. The aromatics were there but not taste of the garlic which is what I really wanted. I'd come back for the biryani but hold off on the naan. I definitely want to try their buffet too!

Ana R.

Yelp
Never coming back. We use to be regulars, however, will not be returning after our recent experience. Mainly because they are not transparent about their charging system, I would even call it sneaky. When they bring you the electronic receipt they race through the buttons on your behalf, making it easier to not notice extra service charges, causing double tipping if you're not careful. Also when you're suppose to sign for your credit card, our waiter squiggled on our behalf to expedite the process. Ended up paying a $20 tip because we were unaware of the extra service charges. Did not realize until we were extra insistent as to why our bill was so high. Also, portions have gotten smaller. They gave us two average sized bowls of rice for 5 people. Naan is mediocre in comparison to other Indian restaurants in town.
google avatar

Rohit G.

Yelp
The food was good but I've had better. The vegetarian dishes were close to authentic Indian stuff. Meat dishes need more work.
google avatar

Vanessa V.

Yelp
If you are craving authentic flavors.. this is a MUST. Place is nice and culture representative. Since we were picking up the cash register asked if it was our first time, and we told him yes and how we saw the reviews online.. we payed and he was so sweet snd gave us a rice pudding (he explained that thats a culture tradition when you meet someone). Food was amazing.. the mild is
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall place, but the food is so good!!! I ordered the Chicken Tikka, and the chicken had a lot of flavor and was very tender. I also tried the Mango Chicken Curry, and it was also good. The garlic nan is a must!
google avatar

Joseph V.

Yelp
Ate an early dinner here on a Saturday night with a friend. The building's exterior is not much to look at, but do not let that turn you away, the inside is cozy and the food is excellent. Since we came for an early dinner (about 6pm or so) the restaurant was only about half full when we arrived, we had our pick of tables and were seated right away. The service throughout dinner was excellent, multiple servers came by to check on our table, refill drinks, and clear away dishes. We ordered two appetizers the paneer pakoda and the samosa chaat, both were very good. I ordered the lamb pasanda as my main. I ordered it medium as I like some spice in my curry, but it was really not very spicy, if you like spice in your curry I would recommend going for the hot spice option. My friend and I shared an order of garlic naan and chili naan. Photos of the food are below. Note the curry comes with white rice, but it is not included in the photos...I think we all know what white rice looks like right? Overall an excellent dinner experience, will certainly return next time I am in the greater Augusta area!
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
We get takeout from here regularly, and it's always great. Vindaloo, tikka masala, veggie samosas, gobhi 65, and naan are some of our go-to dishes. Folks are super friendly as well. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Angelina T.

Yelp
I came here right when they opened. I ordered butter chicken, garlic naan & vegetable samosas. The butter chicken was flavorful but a little much on the sweeter side other than that I love the spices and flavor it gives. The Garlic naan is unquestionable, it was so good. Now for my favorite part, the SAMOSAS! They were so good I just wish it was more than just 2 for the price. The service was amazing, we were greeted at the door and no wait line. He took our order right away! He said 20 minute wait for our food so we sat inside, he offered us water while waiting.. but really only waited 10 minutes!!! It was fast service and definitely will be back to try other dishes! The Ambiance of the place was nice, love the culture decor inside and the music. Wish I would have gotten a picture but I was ready to devour my food with how amazing it smelt in the car.
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
In the words of Guy Fieri, Flavor town USA. This place brings the flavor and spice to their dishes. The vegetable samosa was unexpectedly delicious. I absolutely loved it. Definitely will be returning to try out more dishes.
