Indian Street Food Chain Curry Up Now Heading to Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"Curry Up Now, a fast-casual Indian restaurant chain based in San Francisco, is headed to Atlanta, according to a press release and reporting by Eater San Francisco. The Bay-area chain began as a food truck and currently operates six locations in northern California. Curry Up Now has struck a franchise deal with Fransmart to open several more locations, including five in Atlanta. Hemant Suri is the franchisee for all of Atlanta’s Curry Up Now shops. The first of the five locations planned could open by the end of the year. Curry Up Now’s menu includes traditional Indian dishes like kathi rolls, biryani, and thali platters as well as riffs on tikka masala made into a burrito and the flatbread naan called the “naughty naan” with cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños, and chicken or paneer. There’s an Indian-inspired variant on poutine called “sexy fries” made with sweet potatoes and topped with cheese and a choice of chicken, lamb, or paneer. Several items on the menu such as the curries and chutneys are gluten free and a few dishes can be made vegan. Curry Up Now was founded in 2009 by Akash and Rana Kapoor and co-founder/senior vice president of operations Amir Hosseini." - Beth McKibben

I come to curry up whenever I’m on break because the food is just so good. There’s a large menu with plenty of yummy options. If you more of the vegan or vegetarian type, they have lots of dishes to try. They can also make it vegan if you prefer your meal that way. The staff is super friendly and helpful with explaining whatever dish that you are looking for. Especially Dolly. Dolly is pleasant and very easy to talk to. If you’re totally new to the place I would definitely recommend him to help you with your order. Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with a lot space, yummy food, and a very friendly staff. Also I totally recommend the sexy fries *pic provided* they’re so good!

Google
Deconstructed Samosa was spicy and not wow. Tasted like something to eat. Wish it was less spicy. I added Lamb but didn’t taste or see it. The Lamb Burrito, I didn’t taste or see any lamb. It was rice and paste. The bread was not tasty. The Samosa was ultra regular also. lol dog cookies were good but I didn’t order a meal for the cookie to be the best thing. I tried the Desi Dessert but it was fried air bread with a tasty sweet drizzle. Not what I want when I think of dessert. Tasted like eggroll shell with icing. I couldn’t recommend this place. I feel like they look professional and quality, it just wasn’t satisfying to me. Hate to give a bad review because you could be good people.

Google
The food is really good here. The chicken sandwich is the reason I came back for 2nds. The lamb Rogan dish is very yummy too!! Service is very good, you can tell they make sure your food is prepared clean and colorful.

Google
Just ordered from Uber Eats. This is my first time having Indian food and it did NOT disappoint! The spice and flavors are amazing. I'm so glad I picked this facility to try this cuisine for the first time.

Google
First time here. They do have vegan options! I ordered Hella Vegan Bowl, and it was tasty! A bit too spicy for me and a gentleman who works there told me that we would be able to ask for less spicy next time. The amount of food is pretty good, so you will be filled up. We also ordered Pani Puri, shells were a little harder than we had before at other restaurant, but these were very tasty too. My boyfriend Hella Vegan Britto, and content is same is Hella Vegan Bowl which is on my photo. Bathrooms were clean, very clean and fresh atmosphere and service is excellent!

Saw this spot and stopped here for a quick lunch and I am so glad I did! I got the Chicken tikka masala bowl with daal lentils and turmeric fenugreek basmati rice with a side of burnt chili garlic naan and a delicious ginger mint lemonade to drink! Everything was so delicious and flavorful with the right amount of heat 🌶️ I will come back to this spot for sure! My friend got the Lamb Keema bowl with Chana garbanzos and a mango lassi to drink and they were not disappointed! If you’ve never had Indian food you should give this place a try! 😉

Google
Delicious and spicy Tikki Masala!! The mini samosas were yummy with the green sauce they made. The buttered chicken was excellent too!

Google
Really good food. I definitely wasn’t expecting the quality of food that we got. It was very tasty and I will definitely be back to eat more. The quantity is good and it’s definitely worth the amount of money that you pay for. It’s inconvenient because of the parking deck, but we were in the area so it was fine. I would definitely come back here again and try something different.

Yelp
I've been to Curry Up Now in Alpharetta, so decided to check out this Madison Yards location. There's free parking in the deck next door. It's fast casual, so we placed our orders at the counter before seating ourselves. The inside was very clean and had tons of space and seating. For 3 people, we went family-style and split the samosa chaat, 1 burnt chili garlic naan, pani puri, chicken 69, and vada pav. The food came out super fast which I appreciated! The samosa chaat was pretty flavorful, although I do prefer having the samosas already broken up and mixed. The naan was a little dry and not as fluffy as I would have liked. The pani puri was delicious and I loved the flavor of the vada pav and the buttery pav! The highlight of the meal though was the chicken 69. Hands down some of the best chicken 65 takes I've had. It was flavorful and had a great crunch on the breading. Overall, love both locations I've been to and can't wait to try more off the menu!

Yelp
Curry Up is a cute little spot in Madison Yards and I have been past it so many times but never noticed it until we decided to come in for dinner! Really casual spot so walked right up to order and sat down easily We opted to share (3 people) just a bunch of the entrees! And they were are all delish. The disappointing one was the naan, I've just had better but the star was the chicken 69 like that was just so good. It's a great a place to get a bunch of things and share a delicious meal.

Yelp
I was greeted by a friendly gentlemen who helped me navigate the menu. The restaurant was extremely clean and nicely decorated. I decided to order the tikka masala bowl with garlic naan and chickpeas. I waited about 10 mins for my to-go order. The food was the perfect temperature and the chicken and chickpeas were perfectly seasoned. The rice was a little on the bland side but the tikka sauce made up for that. The meal comes with mango chutney which was pretty good however, I didn't know what exactly it was suppose to be used on. I really enjoyed this spot and can't wait to try one of their burritos next time.
google avatar

Patti S.

Yelp
Ordered the butter chicken bowl. My rice was cold and hard in the middle, lukewarm on top. The lentils and butter chicken were actually tasty in flavor but likewise, cold in temperature. Which was honestly confusing since we dined in. The naan was fresh, soft, and good - but I won't be back.

Yelp
Fast casual Indian food. The service attendant at the counter was very nice. The food is good and the prices are great. It's a good option for a quick bite.

Yelp
We came by here before a concert at the Eastern since it's such a short walk and this place seemed to be a quick and easy meal The food was great, portions are just right sized so you're content but not too full! We got the chicken Tikka bowl, galab jamun & chicken 69. The bowl & chicken 69 were excellent deals. The galab jamun was good but at $2/piece, I thought it was a bit pricey If we were staying longer, I'd definitely have gotten some mango lassi or stubborn soda though! The bowl comes with a choice of chick peas or lentils and we got lentils. The whole thing was good, the rice paired perfectly and had just enough seasoning. The chicken 69 was super crispy and juicy and the onions/lemon a perfect contrast. They have a good bit of seating but not many tables you could push together. It's counter service but they do bus the table when you leave and bring it to you. They have a little outdoor seating & service was quick. We parked at Atlanta dairies and walked over. Would come here again before a concert

Yelp
This award-winning Indian fast casual restaurant chain dominates the segment with high volume and a simple operational model. Unlike traditional Indian restaurants, Curry Up Now requires no trained Indian chef, and serves a menu of innovative Indian street food that appeals to the American market. With a streamlined supply chain, strong support, and a conversion friendly model, now is the time to hurry up to Curry Up Now. Yelp
Great location! The service could have been better. Even after sharing that it was my first time visiting the cashier didn't make suggestions or go into much detail regarding dishes. I literally pulled out my phone, opened YELP! and said "I'll take whatever this is." Food was ok, just ok, but I'd probably go back if in area. Nice outdoor seating available.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was really yummy! Super flavorful. I would definitely order again. To go packaging was neat. The interior was cute and clean! Also located on a cute part of the beltline.

Yelp
This is my second time here, and I loved it. The employees are so kind. I knew what I wanted, but the cashier explained how I could customize my meal and what other people get, too. After I ordered, I overheard him answering questions and helping other customers decide what to order. I sooo appreciate that because it can be intimidating to order new cuisines, especially if no one explains it to you. I ordered the lamb plate with a side of chickpeas and rice. It was delicious! It could've been a bit warmer, though. The portion size was good, and the flavors were definitely there. You also get a side of naan, but I opted out this time. Back to the customer service--they were running a bit behind, presumably because they are understaffed, like many restaurants. The cashier thanked each customer for their patience and apologized for the wait. He also had great eye contact, which might sound weird lol, but I really appreciate when people look me in the eye while they're speaking to me lol. If you want to try out some delicious Indian street food, this is your place!

Yelp
*Review based on delivery order A fave! I absolutely love Indian food and feel like I eat it at least 2-3 times a month, and still can't get enough. When preparing for an event recently, I opted to order Curry Up Now to refuel. Such a great choice! The menu blew my mind. I love seeing traditional Indian and fusion dishes all in one place, I was losing the battle between my greed and logical mind seeing all of those options. I decided to order a chicken tikka masala burrito in the combo order, which included a samosa, cookies and their delicious chutney and hot sauce. This was a healthy sized lunch combo! My burrito was HUGE. The burrito was filled with rice and chicken, incredibly flavorful and the hot sauce gave it the perfect kick. I didn't get around to the cookies but the samosa was also delicious and I loved the filling. Although it was a takeout order, it absolutely didn't disappoint. I need another burrito asap!

Yelp
- Food looks better than it taste; - Ordered my burrito to be spicy, it wasn't spicy - The mango drink and sweet potato fries were better than the burrito - Overall 2.5/5; I should've went to the mexican spot across the street

Rita R.

Yelp
Friendly staff and cheerful place along the vibrant beltline. Order online and your food is ready in 10 mts. A lot of options for adults and kids . Family and kid friendly place .

Yelp
My visit to Curry up now was my first introduction to Indian food. Granted, it's not fully authentic but, it was a great way to ease into the cuisine. It was decided spur of the moment to stop here so, I didn't have time to do my research on the menu and what each item was. Therefore, I spent a little more time than usual in line reading the Board. In the end, I figured it was just rice, sauce,, lentils and a meat...just pick one. So, I chose the Lamb Keema and fried ravioli. Everything was extremely tasty!! Full of flavor with just enough spice I could tolerate. I would definitely call my meal a comfort meal.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
The waitress was pleasant, although she seemed stretched thin as she was the only working the front area. My meal took almost 30 minutes to receive, but when I did it was hot and although the flavors satisfied an Indian Food craving, the meal was just ok.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
I love stopping in for a burrito when I need something convenient. Samosa pack a little heat on the tongue but not overwhelming for my palate. Either way, it's always pleasant to wash it down with their mango lassi! If you're particular about your lassi, this one tends to run more on the tart/yogurt side of the scale. YMMV. Service is always pleasant. On a more recent visit, my daughter and I were giving mommy some kid-free time. The team at CUN took care of us as we had our lunch. I'm a sucker for great service and CUN certainly delivers.

Yelp
We are originally From San Francisco California, and let me tell you this food is great Highly recommended True and authentic flavor.

Yelp
This was my second time visiting this restaurant and I'll definitely go back again. I had the Punjabi Bowl with Saag Paneer and Tikka Masala Paneer and the Chloe or chickpeas and basmati rice. I also got the naan along with the raita. Everything was really delicious. The location is in a great spot and the inside is very modern. The person that took my order was friendly and helped recommend the bowl to order based on what I told him I wanted.

Mark T.

Yelp
Some of the best Indian food I've have in a long time. Great staff; friendly, delicious

Yelp
Curry Up is always fresh and some good food! I love their customer service and welcoming culture.

Yelp
everything I've tried thus far is delicious. I love the samosas and the different burritos. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yelp
Indian food is quickly starting to become my favorite! This place is like no other when it comes to quality, taste, freshness, and authenticity. I literally could smell the aroma and spices from the kitchen from the parking lot when I got out my car and I knew the food would not disappoint. Curry up now is a great addition to this beltline hub of restaurants. I stopped in for lunch I decided to try the mini samosas and the saag spinach paneer. The bite sized samosas and the tamarind chutney were so delicious, i wish I ordered more. Threw my leftovers in the airfryer the next day and they were still yummy. The saag spinach paneer and garlic naan also did not disappoint. Looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items!
google avatar

William J.

Yelp
They have great customer service and the food is always good!!! This is a nice play to sitting and eat and enjoy the area - it is area from the belt line.
google avatar

Alana N.

Yelp
10/10 recommend! The beans were beyond flavor and go so well with the rice! Pani Puri is crunchy and fun to make poke hole yourself, q dipping in the sour water before taking a juicy sour bite!! Nan breads are very soft and flavorful as well! 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Garrin E.

Yelp
Their food gave me a bad stomach ache. Not coming back. That really shouldn't happen.
google avatar

Mesi J.

Yelp
Consistently good food! So much so I have started to venture out from my normal Tiki Masala choice...which you cannot go wrong with. Samosas, vada pav, Punjabi chicken, daal, all good. Just try it...you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Zain K.

Yelp
My number-one pet peeve when it comes to restaurant eating is being given misinformation about a menu item, particularly when that misinfo pertains to the type of protein in the dish. In this case, I was told they use white chicken meat in all their dishes, only to be served a chicken kadhai that had anything but (and I *really* don't like dark chicken meat). That chicken dish was also very oily (see photo) and salty, so pretty much inedible to me. As for the rest of the thali I'd ordered. the paneer saag was okay, and the naan was tasty, but the dahl was on the watery side, and the rice had an unusual taste I didn't enjoy. Also, $17 seemed steep for a chicken-based fast-casual restaurant meal that wasn't large enough for leftovers. While the meal didn't satisfy, I will say that the restaurant itself was very clean, the people working here were pleasant (if misinformed), and the menu concept was well constructed.
google avatar

K C.

Yelp
Excellent food, quick and easy pick up/ordering. I'll definitely be returning! I got a burrito meal and it was absolutely delicious
google avatar

Celinda H.

Yelp
Love this place. The ambiance and the location are great! Food is amazing and customer service is always superb!
google avatar

Tammy W.

Yelp
I love Indian food but it isn't always easy to eat lunch from traditional restaurants that pack to go orders in separate containers. Not only is Curry Up Now convenient, it's delicious! I go there a couple times a week (because it's close to my office), but I end up eating the food more than that because the portions are so large that I always have leftovers. If it were near home, I'm sure I'd eat there 3-4 times/week. I keep track of restaurant food safety ratings, so as long as the ratings stay good, I'll continue enjoying Curry Up Now. I happen to love all types of Indian dishes, but if you think you don't like Indian food, I suggest you give Curry Up Now a try anyway. Their street food dishes have a different spin on Indian food.
google avatar

Harpreet S.

Yelp
The appetizers and desserts were great but the main dishes were average. Naan/kulcha is not freshly made. Would go there for apps again.

Ron R.

Yelp
The food always tastes great, is fresh, and ready quickly. They provide very good takeout Service.
google avatar

Shameka W.

Yelp
Food was good but portions are pretty small for The price. As far as taste, it was delicious and ready in minutes. My butter chicken was served Luke warm and almost cold, but still tasted good so I won't complain. The inside is clean and the staff was nice .

Yelp
Love me some punjab by nature is my go to ! So good. This place nails it for quick casual Indian food.

Yelp
Even for a chain, this was amazing food and an amazing spot. Immediately walking in the door, it smelled like fresh food and spices. We also enjoyed how clean and hip their location was. What we ordered: Tikka Masala Bowl: It had a flavorful tikka masala sauce which I got cauliflower rice with. The riced cauliflower was seasoned with turmeric and greens and the texture was great! As my side I had the chickpeas, but their was option for lentils also. I felt my portion size was fair and the flavors of everything was exactly what I was looking for. The American Punjabi: This came with Ghee makhni butter chicken which was mostly dark meat and really tender. Aloo gobi, which had stewed potatoes and tomatoes and some other vegetables. It had a home stewed flavor. It also came with lentils, and they had a sweeter flavor than the other two sides. And of course this also had turmeric rice! The naan that came with the meal was also nice and soft. To drink I ordered: Mango Lassi- One of my all time favorite mango flavored yoghurt drinks and this one was no different! We also wanted to make a note that there was multiple options for the naan including a naan "Indian style pizza" that we are dying to try when we come back (stay tuned for updated review) Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options at this restaurant as well, so something on the menu for almost everyone. I definitely will visit again and try more off of the menu including the naan stated above and their dessert menu!
google avatar

Charlotte B.

Yelp
This was, overall, soooo good. My spouse and I split the mini samosas, the meat sweats thali, and the gulab jamun. The two chicken dishes on the thali were incredible. So flavorful and delicious. The naan could've had more flavor but obviously I love a carb so I still though it was good. Neither of us were a fan of the lamb dish, but I honestly am always iffy on lamb so that could just be me. The mini samosas and the gulab jamun were pretty good. Inside, the restaurant is a bit soulless trendy. However, it smelled amazing from the second we walked in and the staff was very very nice and helpful.

Yelp
Great place for casual dining, or if you need to grab a quick bite to eat! Located in Madison Yards area, so there's a ton of free parking and places to grab dessert afterwards. We ordered the: - Meat Sweats Thali (comes with lamb, and 2 chicken curries, as well as naan, basmati rice, pickled onions, and tomato for garnish) - Sexy Fries (their version of a poutine style fry, was sweet potato fries with cheese and curry on top) - Mango Lassi Overall I found the curries to all be pretty flavorful and rich. I liked the variety in the thali platter. It was a good size to share and try multiple curries if you can't pick one. We got the Sexy Fries spicy, and they did actually have a kick to them. There were a good portion of fries that stayed crispy, even with all the toppings, so that was really great. If you haven't tried a Mango Lassi before, it's smooth and delicious, like a creamy mango smoothie, but not as sweet as typical American smoothies. With everything we ordered, portion sizes were fair and it was just right for two people to share. Tables were taped off to maintain social distancing, and there were people dining in, but everyone spaced themselves out. There's also hand sanitizer provided. Would definitely recommend this place, and I wish I lived closer so I could just walk right down and grab a bite for lunch! While we were there, there were a ton of takeout orders.

Xavier W.

Yelp
Amazing!! Loved the flavors in every bite and the authentic taste! Truly one of my new Indian street food places. Definitely adding to my list. I recommend you get the fried ravioli, the butter chicken burrito , he'll get everything the whole menu is lovely!
google avatar

Scott A.

Yelp
Clean, well-managed (family, maybe?) Indian "street food" restaurant. So, basically the Indian equivalent of fast food or fast casual dining. In that context, the food is tasty, well-prepared, and fast. Extremely friendly service. Thali (assortment platters) are a good idea to sample the range of their items.
google avatar

Jonetta V.

Yelp
I tried the other location in Decatur and they're pretty consistent in flavor. Food is very flavorful. I've had authentic Indian food in Dekalb and for a "street food" concept, Curry Up Now gives me similar flavor as one of favorite (and very popular) Indian Restaurants. This time I tried the Thali - Meat Sweets. I like to sample different entrees and the Thali is always a good one to get. The Meat Sweets comes with lamb and two chicken entrees, rice, naan, yogurt (for the heat) and a small dessert. My favorite is the butter chicken... anything with butter is always awesome. :-) The thali comes in various options including vegetarian. I also had the free naan bits which offers a scrumptious masala dip. They have a fountain drink; I'm partial to the pineapple cream soda and the vanilla cream soda. The place is clean and the service is very good. Sazid at the counter was quite nice. Added plus that the food came out quickly. I'll definitely have Indian Street Food Curry Me Up on my quick Indian go to list.

Yelp
stopped for lunch on the way to the job site and I got the Tikka Massala bowl with the chili garlic naan and my friend got the lamb keema bowl with the burnt chili garlic naan I had a ginger lemonade drink my friend had a mango lassi and oh my Lord, what an amazing flavorful experience it was! I personally love Indian food so to finally find a place to eat was a surprise! it was a beautiful day so we sat outside to people watch The staff was super nice and everything came out so fast and was so delicious! I definitely recommend this spot to anyone wanting to try Indian food with a twist!

Yelp
So many good veggie options! The biriyani is so good and the deconstructed samosa etc etc. Service is always on point. I love coming here! I always end up eating way too much!

Yelp
Amazing food! If you have never tried Indian food, come here!! The samosas are delicious and the hella vegan burrito is so flavorful, with great spices. You will not be disappointed!! Absolutely need to come here every time I'm in Atlanta!

Yelp
Awesome! I really like this place! Right off Memorial Drive in that big shopping center. There is plenty of parking - Just park in the underground part of the deck and there are some stairs that go right up to the front door. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The menu is pretty big and diverse, and there are a lot of options even for the picky eater. I got the Tikka Masala burrito and it was delicious! The Tikka Masala bowl also looked amazing. The fountain drinks are not traditional and they have some brands I've never seen before, but they were still good. The place was clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms were also clean. Well done! I will definitely be going back! One of the biggest points is its not too expensive either. Not cheap, but not outrageous. Considering the area it's in, definitely makes sense. Thanks!
