Been coming here forever. I just wish they would be more consistent with the flavor of the food. It seems to be better at the end of the week. My rellenos were burnt and they are using a different kind of cheese which I'm not a big fan of. Come on creamery. Let's not get careless.

Google
Curtis Park Creamery clearly is an establishment rich of history and it is awesome that places like this are still around. However, with that being said, I did not think that the food is worth anything more than 3 stars. I thought everything tasted very bland and just mediocre overall. I thought that maybe it was just what I ordered, but my friend who ordered something completely different had the same sentiment. The prices are decent but you can get much better for a similar price elsewhere.

Google

I haven't been to CPC for 30+ years. It is exactly as I remember it. Family owned friendly folks and lots of great food. If you are in the Curtis Park or Five Points area of Denver please stop and support this great family and thier restaurant.

Google
Delicioso and great prices. John is the best! If you’re worried about the spiciness, take John’s tip and mix the mild and the hot together!

Google
I got a #4 and I got to my car to take a bite it was cold and I thought the lettuce was going to be on the outside of the burrito not in. I thought that my cheese would be melted very little cheese in it so I took it back in and got another one and I took a few more bites. She still wasn’t melted and it had no taste to it. None at all I will not eat here ever again. I can make better burritos than this with flavor.

Do you need your sinuses clear? Do you love authentic Mexican food? Then the Curtis Park Creamery is the place for you. This place is a Locals favorite that has been in the community for longer than some of us have been on this earth. It has been over 30 years since the last time I was able to enjoy their food, so when I had a free day on a business trip to Denver, I fly my happy little butt over to enjoy a #5 smothered 🔥 with a coke in the park across the street. They don't have seats in the Creamery but you can enjoy it in the park (weather permitting). I love this place and will find a way back again! I highly recommend you do the same!

Google
The creamery isn’t the same like it used to be. The rellenos are so skimp. The peppers 🫑 are not even visible anymore. There was literally more bread than anything. Very disappointed. I think im done with them now.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years for their breakfast burritos. I love the people who work here, and it's a Denver staple. No tables so plan to eat on the go or in the park across the street if you're a real one! I always have them add pico to my burritos and it's super fresh.

Yelp
Still taste the same service was good! Always nice as well, people say the older guy at the register is mean but I never had a bad experience with him taking my order

Yelp
Our new favorite spot in the Rino neighborhood. In a world full of stuffy, overpriced restaurants, be a Curtis Park Creamery. An authentic, delicious lunch for under 20 bucks can't be beat. Also, the staff were incredibly friendly. No frills type of place, food is to go. There's a beautiful park across the street to eat at. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Gotta love this spot. They been staying strong in the neighborhood. Definitely a go to for taste of Denver! I get a smothered burrito, chili relleno and a ginger ale. Totally cravable! Most awesomlicious!! Always friendly if not funny. Small lobby no tables. Just that good ole cooking and a chill vibe!

Yelp
Food always good fresh made to order. Love the location. Not expensive. Awesome staff

Yelp
I was craving some authentic Mexican the other day and was grateful to find Curtis Park Creamery open. They have their social distancing dialed in. You can order at the door, online or get delivery through GrubHub. I got a bunch of food, green chili tamales, rellenos, a burrito. Food for days all for about $20. Happy to support this awesome local Mom and Pop business during this time.

Yelp
Order online ahead!! Makes not having to wait ideal, but also they use a speaker so you can hear your order. So good and spicy always love supporting local

Yelp
I've eaten here 3 times in the past week, and I feel comfortable giving them a rating, to bump them up a little. I should preface this by saying that I grew up near a Taco Bueno in Texas, and since their mismanagement and all-but-demise, I've been looking for something along those lines, especially for beef burritos. I even figured out how to make a beef burrito myself, with a McCormick spice pack. I moved to Denver to a place close by Curtis Park. Upon visiting the park, I had to stop here. Their beef burrito is fantastic, especially if you pour their delicious chili on it. The next meal I had was a chicken quesadilla, which was shredded whitemeat, very nice. Finally, I tried their enchiladas, which were also excellent. I haven't tried their breakfast tacos or rice & beans yet. I make my own breakfast tacos my way, and rice & beans aren't on my diet. But if they're as good as everything else, I'm sure they're great. I'll definitely be doing my part to keep this place in business, and I'm happy it's close by!

Yelp
Curtis Park Creamery is an institution! The menudo is the best for take-out; I always order it with my food. Who cares that you can't wait until you get home and you are now eating your Mexican treasure in your car! Fresh food always; I've not had anything bad from the Creamery--even thought the menudo, bean tostada, and bean/cheese burritos are what I've eaten most. Growing up in Denver, this was a quick spot to get homemade Mexican food and a soda; it still is as a grown up. My kids eat here--family eat here. The Creamery and their food never get old!

Yelp
When I first moved to Denver it reminded me of Oz: everything was all shiny and new, full of promise and vigor, a beautiful place no doubt, with a spectacular snow-capped backdrop. Where the sun's radiance is omnipresent, and the inhabitants conceal their individuality behind mirrored shades as they chase their wants, and where their dreams do indeed come true. I also thought that maybe this was a bit of an illusion; there had to be a little grit behind all those reflective glass clad skyscrapers, where the wide concrete freeways give way to neighborhood streets with timeworn houses based on human scale and a different kind of vitality. Where the pace is less hurried and whose inhabitants occasionally reveal their soul, but most importantly share in their secret places for good, cheap, and thoroughly satisfying food. I was not wrong. Denver does have grit, you just have to work for it, seek it out a bit, and just ask. You will be rewarded more than you know. The Curtis Park Creamery is a local kind of place and has been for a while. This restaurant is not only a place that is locally owned, it has a funky history, and serves up some mighty tasty and cheap Mexican food. I am not an authority of this type of food, but I do know what I like and that usually involves some kind of cheese. No problem finding that here. And when that cheese comes encased in smoky poblanos, is deep fried, and then is 'smothered' in an amazing red chile, then you have definitely reached my soul. I ordered the #17 combo which consisted of two of the aforementioned smothered (smo. on the menu) rellenos and a side of beans and rice that were also both smo., all for only $6.99. Wow. The sauce had a warming heat which is perfect for a cold Denver day, heck it's great for a hot Denver day. The side of refried beans is not your usual chain version but a slightly soupy rendition and had a depth of flavor which could never be mistaken for anything remotely resembling 'fast casual'. And the rice, again surprisingly flavored with more of that wonderful smo. Mmmm. I think that smo. really means "give me some mo'!" In addition to the combo plates, there are burritos (all for less than $5, with a smo. bean and cheese, $3.35), enchiladas, menudo (yup!), tacos, etc. Oh, there is also Frito Pie on the menu board. Frito Pie! The Curtis Park Creamery is strictly a carry out place, you will need to get in line with everyone else, and when it is your turn to place your order you better know what you want from the menu board because this place gets busy. Definitely worth a trip for a quick lunch if you are anywhere near Curtis Park, i.e. 20 miles. 003.13

Yelp
I feel really bad giving such a Colorado relic a two star review but the food just isn't up to par. Like, at all. While the woman who took my order was extremely nice, the tacos/food itself were the equivalent to those that I can make at home.... Tacos came with loads of shredded cheddar and lettuce with chicken, thats it. SUPER CHEAP but I can get four amazing street tacos with veggies, homemade hot sauce and seasoned chicken for the same price of 4.50$. Won't be coming back I'm sorry to say.
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Curtis Park Creamery - great place: * Know what you want _before_ you're placing your order * Hot means hot * No seating, but there's a park right out in front * Know what you want before... (ok, that's a repeat)

Yelp
In my three days in Denver, I came to Curtis Park Creamery twice. The only reason it wasn't thrice was because I didn't know of its existence on the first day. This is a no frills, no nonsense, Mexican joint. You better damn well know what you want to order when you walk up to the counter to order. No one is going to rush you or give you a hard time as you make up your mind, but just make sure your mind truly is made up when it's go time. I got a smothered breakfast burrito on both my visits. It was truly addictive. I asked for my order hot, and it really did pack a punch (which was much appreciated!). In addition to the heat, it was a legitimately delicious breakfast burrito. Heck, it was probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! It was so generously packed with eggs and meat, and that sauce was so delightfully fresh. At $4 a burrito, you'd be hard pressed to find a tastier meal for your buck. There aren't any tables to sit at for a dine-in meal, so takeout is your only choice. You can either walk across the street to the park, or take it wherever you desire. Since my accommodations were just three blocks away, that's where I always ended up with my food. If you ever find yourself in the Five Points neighborhood in Denver, I would highly suggest you head to this spot right away. The neighborhood is going through a gentrification phase right now, so I truly hope this spot can survive the changes over the coming years. Truly a gem.
google avatar

Joel E.

Yelp
There's a reason why they're still around! Survived the whole up and coming new neighborhood and the gentrification that has followed! Used to come here as a kid, and they've still used the same recipe for their chili rellenos (recommend them smothered). Everything on the menu is great and their red chili is one of a kind! No public restroom. No place to sit inside but if it's a nice day, head across the street to Curtis park and sit in the bump. We've done it for years!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Always walked by and saw the line, but hadn't taken the chance to try it yet. Tried a few different things. Beef Burrito Hot smothered, Tamale, and Beef Taco. All portions were perfect, and the hot sauce was perfectly spicy. Tamale was great. Definitely stopping by again! Highly recommend
google avatar

Florence V.

Yelp
Delicious! I love their beef and bean burrito smothered with half and half chile. They put lettuce and cheese in the inside, which is different, but I don't mind it. You gotta loce a nice sized burrito for under $4. They do take credit cards, but make sure you bring your ID too, otherwise, you have to pay cash.

Yelp
This place was absolutely outstanding. I stepped in on a walk a few minutes before they closed. Normally that type of thing gets you a dirty look from the employees, but the gentlemen at the register couldn't have been nicer. I ordered a smothered burrito, a taco, and a red tamale for dinner, which is a lot, but the prices are extremely cheap so I figured the portions would be smaller. The taco was good, as was the burrito, and the meat was well seasoned and not at all greasy, which I loved! Next time I'll do a burrito without smothering it, however. It was just a little watery, and I felt took away from the other great flavors a little bit, but again I ordered it that way. The best part, hands down, were the tamales! I've grown up with tamales since I was a kid, and can be very particular about them. These were the closest to granny's I had in a LONG TIME! The masa was perfect with just the right density, the pork was absolutely delicious. Easily some of the best Mexican food I've had in denver. Thanks guys!

Yelp
Taco Bell/Del Taco is better than this place by far!! I've been here twice and think that my two experiences are enough to warrant a decent opinion. First off, this is almost all "American" Mexican and the food I have had was not "good" at all. It was very close to sub par and by no means is this a 1st destination for anything I've ordered. Let me explain myself..... 1. They use thick shredded cheddar cheese on almost everything I've had. 2. They have horrible hours. (Only open til 5) 3. The "salsa" is terribly watery and ran straight through my tacos. (If you've ever ate a taco with a broken shell, add a red juice in there to make everything more fun!) 4. The food is greasy and seems low quality compared to other Mexican restaurants. 5. Their clientele isn't necessarily the cream of the crop, I've been in line with some crackhead looking folks. Overall, my advice is to avoid this place. Your dollars will be be better spent at Taco Bell.

Olivia M.

Yelp
Amazing! Really enjoyed the rellenos and tostadas. Super fast. Ordered over the phone and picked up 10 minutes later. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Sean J.

Yelp
This is the hometown spot I have to hit up every time I come me back to Denver.. #4 smoothed with the Hot chili is my order
google avatar

Cece S.

Yelp
Tamales are ok. So is the red chili. Everything else - yuck. If you're looking for this style of food (mexicanish, drunk/hangover food), go to Chubby's on 38th. So much better than whatever this was. Oh and if I ask AND pay for sour cream on my food, I expect sour cream to be on my food.
google avatar

Cooper S.

Yelp
+++ The best tamale and the best chili relleno I have ever had. I was just looking for a great place to grab a taco neat work and saw the great reviews here. I stopped in and asked what they would recommend. One of the women working the counter let me try two salsas, a little chicken (so moist) and some beans - I didn't even ask, I thought that was so nice. The hot sauce is very hot but not like other hot sauces where they taste like noting but "fire" - this had real dynamic flavor. So get the tamale and relleno and be better than me and take pics! Family owned since 1969 and you can tell there is so much pride and passion for the food. Note: It's strictly carry away and very inexpensive for how amazing it is.
google avatar

Leigh D.

Yelp
I LOVED their smothered chicken burrito and their hot red chili sauce is one of the best I've ever had! I also enjoyed their wonderful staff!
google avatar

Phil J.

Yelp
Really amazing breakfast choices. I do wish they opened a little earlier or stayed open a little later, but people can't be expected to work their lives away. The food is VERY fresh and has lots of flavor. Prices are super reasonable. Be prepared to wait a few minutes since everything is made fresh to order.
google avatar

Lala A.

Yelp
First off don't judge this place by the exterior or the name (sadly no coffee lol) of the building. The food here is really good! this place has really good green tamales!! Bean and cheese burrito was good for the price and had a decent amount of filling. Prices are super low. Really this place is a hidden gem. Staff were really friendly too. Would for sure make another trip here for food.
google avatar

Lily R.

Yelp
Ingredients were fresh and all items were made to order. The prices are super-reasonable but the flavor was a bit bland for my taste.

Andrew B.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The best chili relleno (smothered in red sauce) that I have ever had.... Fresh housemade refried beans! (toot) Delicious!!! If you are in the area, stop..AND, people that are crying about charges for "extra" this or that should get a life. Clearly posted in establishment that "extra costs extra." Nothing is free in this world. So support your LOCALLY owned businesses. Not some chain restaurant.
google avatar

Rachael B.

Yelp
I love this confusing little place. Curtis Park Creamery? No ice cream? Whaaa? I walked in on a busy afternoon, got in line, ordered 3 smothered tamales for a whopping $4 and drank up the awesome 'hole in the wall' atmosphere. These ladies mean business so take your time and choose what you want before you hem and haw in line with them because they MAY kick your ass out of line. No bullshit here. Love that. You wait in line after you order and they'll call out your number. Don't pass up those delightful chicharrones while you wait. The guy behind the register is beyond friendly and there isn't a credit card minimum which I was thankful for when my whole order cost under five bucks. A word of warning - the hot chili is NO JOKE. I have successfully dulled my spicy taste buds and it had my nose running and my mouth on fire. Awesome.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Just been in the neighborhood long enough the locals think it's good. Owners are a bunch of cheap asses. Almost $6 for a smothered burrito and it doesn't even come with a lid to keep it from spilling. Wouldn't have been so bad is they didn't stack 3 of them on each other and put them in a bag. Now I understand why everyone else wanted boxes. Just seemed like a huge inconvenience to the whole staff when the guy before me asked for one. Won't be making the mistake of coming back here again.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Hello hole in the wall with a name that sounds like an ice cream shop... This place is amazing - sorta like "the soup natzi" know what you want, order all at once and then move to the far size of the cash register and pay! The sauces are great, the burritos are great - breakfast or lunch - and the meat choices... Yummy and cheap!! Definitely not as scary as the neighborhood appears! Give it a try!
google avatar

S M.

Yelp
Chicano style Mexican food.....americanized, modified....come on peeps, don't expect something the same, this place is different. Before ya'll gabachos started moving into the E, this place was and still is a hit with the true "locals". I've since moved from the E, but still take the extra time to drive down here just for this. Yummmm, smothered chile relleno and #4 smothered were on my mind today....after being deathly ill for the past week, something other than liquid lunch popped into my mind and here is where I ended up. Today's chile was hot, hotter than I recall and hit the spot right on. Nothing like a little heartburn and irritable bowl syndrome after a week of liquid lunch!
google avatar

Essence P.

Yelp
My co-worker suggested this place to me when I told her the struggle I was having finding places close to me to eat. I live in the only part of five points where there isn't a decent spot to walk to catch a quick bite. Until I discovered this tiny hole in the wall. Its some of the best burritoes and chili rellenos I've ever had. Their chili is tooo DIE for. The prices are more than fair. I remember my first visit, i got a smothered burrito and a smothered chili relleno and onky paid $6. The team remembers your name and your order and they treat every one of the customers with respect. So long as i live here, I'll be visiting curtis park at least once a week.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
YAY Mexican food! Not sure where the creamery name comes from, but I like mexican food WAY better than ice cream, and milk, so... Yay!
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
4 stars for having lots of character: longtime joint, frequented by locals, everyone has character 2 stars for food I was looking for a place to grab a bite after stopping by the nearby DMV. At 11:15am, this place was already hopping - looked like a lot of locals and regulars. I ordered the #7 chicken burrito with beans, cheese, and lettuce. Order first, wait for food, pay when your food is ready. With a half dozen people ahead of me, I still had to wait 15 minutes for my order to be ready. I'm not sure where the slow down is, as I could see all the orders lined up and waiting to be packaged. Unfortunately, my burrito was lukewarm and the flavors uninspiring. I'll go there again if I'm in the neighborhood, so I can try their breakfast burrito (get there before 11am).
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
I really want to rave about this place because it's got a lot of character, is very tucked away, the workers were so nice, and it has been around for a long, long time. MAYBE... And I hope that's the case, MAYBE, I had a bad day. I got three tamales to test out for Christmas, and they were just okay if you're going to compare them to the talent that's out there. There isn't much variety here, they're pretty small, and certainly don't hit the taste that others have. I had the green. I will absolutely come here one more time, and try the red tamales, and maybe a burrito, because I feel like I need to try this joint one more time. It's too cool of a location.
google avatar

CJ D.

Yelp
Went there not knowing what to expect, but the "anti-nit-picky" signage by the menu and the simplicity of the menu left something to the imagination. Expected short and snappy remarks judging from the vibe and signage, (think Chubby's do's and dont's signs everywhere) as they took our order, but they were incredibly friendly (albeit slow at the time). Simple, good and cheap. We got two combo plates and each was better than the last. Chili was good (got the mix of mild and hot, going to get hot next time), Tamales and Rellenos were FANTASTIC. FYI: Its called the Curtis Park Creamery because the name was grandfathered in when they took over the space 42 years ago and they just never changed the name. So if your going for ice cream you'll be disappointed but pleasantly surprise with great Mexican food! Also it's very small, no dine in, walk through only (Think Subway or Chipotle type ordering)
google avatar

Dianna B.

Yelp
This isn't my first time here, but my first time here in about 5 years. I so want to give my husbands neighborhood Mexican food takeout spot 5 stars....But that wouldn't be honest. The food was GOOD. This time, I got 3 smothered (half and half) green chile relleno's. Yes I said three, I was hungry :) The food was hot and fresh, they packaged it perfectly and I had everything that I needed to eat it right away. Absolutely no complaints about the food. The staff was also nice and polite. There's just one thing. When FOOD is your forte, the establishment just has to be clean, neat and presentable. The Creamery just isn't that. This neighborhood is changing daily and it's a goldmine to be quite honest. They're going to have to make this place more presentable or at least make it look clean. I'm not saying that it was dirty, obviously I wouldn't have eaten here. But it looks that way. And you know, perception is a motha*****. If you're looking for some DELICIOUS and fresh, good Mexican takeout, and don't mind what the place looks like, this is it!
google avatar

Denise R.

Yelp
So if I'm ever in the area I always have to come here for a quick bite it is a fast place with no seating but so good! !! And the prices are great
google avatar

Tiana N.

Yelp
Not ice cream as originally thought, but Mexican food in my neighborhood?! Awesome! Went and loved it even more: great service, really friendly staff, delicious food! You can't really ask for more! Had the green chili tamale, bean burrito and chili rellano and they were filling, extremely cheap and I felt like I was part of a cool club of people who actually knew what this place was. Of course, if you're looking for a fancy joint, I can imagine you've already figured out that you should go elsewhere - this place is the real deal. It's a great place to just grab and go, as a lot of the other reviews mention, it doesn't have a place inside to sit, but there is Curtis Park right across the street, so you can just grab a spot to eat on a nice day. It's filling and tasty - I'd go here the morning following a fun night out, or just for a nice afternoon of delsh Mexican food! Highly recommended.
google avatar

Kristy R.

Yelp
Ain't nothing bad about my neighborhood Mexican takeout joint. Its fast, its cheap and it tastes good. So I can't complain. I haven't eaten here more than once so this review is purely based on the tasty not smothered burrito I ordered. It was hot and delicious. The (i think) mild green chilli sauce wasn't too spicy, but had just enough kick to flavor up the basic base of meat, beans, tomato, lettuce and cheese. Service was fast and friendly. Food was good and cheap. No complaints here!

Tyme W.

Yelp
The good ol Creamery! My family has been coming here for about 25 years!!! I grew up on the creamery. Top 3 best Mexican food in Denver! We've tried the whole menu. Best items: 1.) Green chili smothered burrito 2.) Red chili smothered burrito 3.) Red chili smothered rellenos (get this if you're craving something fried) 4.) Ground beef tostada with onions. I live in Vegas now and I miss it so bad. I come by every time I'm in town. I hope they never close!
google avatar

Gabriela A.

Yelp
The creamery has been in Denver for a long time! Home to best place to eat after a questionable (but refreshing) swim at Curtis park. Owned by an amazing family that has been apart of this community for a long time. I usually order a bean and cheese burrito smothered or a chili relleno smothered with red or green chili. Happy to see they're still open dispute being surrounded by contagious gentrification.
google avatar

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place... so many good reviews, I even overheard one of my co-workers saying how great this place was. Boy was I disappointed. The place is small and it's take-out only. The cashier guy was funny & nice. I had the #15, 2 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. I really want to give this place more stars, but honestly... the Spanish rice was awful, and the beans were only slightly better. Do people not know Spanish rice is not supposed to be crunchy?? It's supposed to be fluffy. It was not. I took one bite and was done with it. The beans were average, with some burnt areas on the top. My cheese enchiladas were pretty decent (best part of the meal) and covered in red sauce. However, the sauce just seemed kind of bland. My bf was excited for a carne asada/steak taco... however they don't make those I guess. Just ground beef. Ground beef taco with hard shell = white people taco. So I guess my conclusion is that this is a White People Mexican food place. If you like that type of Mexican food you will like this place... obviously some people love that type of mexican food since this place has so many good reviews. I don't. I won't be back.
google avatar

Tim H.

Yelp
It's ok. They didn't get my order right. They have cheap Mexican food that's pretty quick. The only thing holding up the line was the speed of the credit card machine. It is a hole in the wall place. Service was fine. You can get a lot of food for little money. I was actually impressed by the variety of cold drinks and sodas they had on hand. I may try it again some time. Maybe.

Yelp
It's great to have a mexican restaurant in walking distance in te Five Points neighborhood and I was excited when I saw a couple good reviews about Curtis Park Creamery. I finally stopped in and wow, I was disappointed. The service was fast but unfriendly (0ther than the gentleman at the cash register, he was very nice), my order was wrong and was missing the extras that I paid for, and the food turned out to be very average...even the green chili was disappointing.

Yelp
This is the best place to order tamales for large groups. They are reasonably priced, and if you call ahead they will have them hot and ready for you to pick up within an hour. This is DenMex at its best. During the summer, go to the Curtis Park outdoor pool, work up a giant appetite and then get filled with spicy chile and delicious burritos.
