Marylanders Were Not impressed with PETA’s Latest Campaign | Eater DC

"A New Zealand–themed restaurant on Lee Highway that had been open for 16 years appears to be closed after recently changing hands from its original owner to a new pair; a sign on the door said the restaurant was closed." - Alison Baitz

Haven't been here in a few years, so I decided to give it another try. The service was great! Very nice, quick with getting the orders and drinks, and very well mannered. The prices weren't that bad compared to the portion sizes. The food was alright. The wings were a bit odd, but they were good. The cheesesteak wasn't what I had expected. Seemed like more of a burger cut into pieces than typical shredded steak. It was very flavorful, however. Overall not a bad place for a nice easy dinner with the family.

Awesome breakfast! Very timely. Never let my coffee get cold. Food was very very good. Table of bff's next to me sharing mimosas. Another table of veterans enjoying each other's company. Can't wait to come back!!!

I had a wonderful lunch at Cusat's Cafe, a Hazleton, PA bar and restaurant. Cusat's has been in business since 1936! Without question, an impressive run. Cusat's is located in Hazleton's Alter Street Business District at 12th St. It features ample off-street parking and a covered outdoor deck for the warmer months. For lunch, I went traditional Hazleton. I had a sausage and scamutz sandwich, fries with gravy and a Farmer's Iced Tea. The bread was a dream having been made by nearby Senape's Bakery. The roll is crispy on the outside, light and soft on the inside. Does not overpower the sandwich - perfect! The sausage was homemade. Again, the sausage was homemade! Perfectly seasoned and a little spicy it was perfectly balanced in flavor. For those not familiar, scamutz, derived from scamorza is a Hazleton-style mozzarella cheese. It is mild, creamy and melts perfectly. Friends, these folks are the real deal, food-wise! Hazleton is a wonderland of multi-cultural food. Cusat's Cafe continues to take its well-deserved place in this community. I highly recommend a visit!

My wife and I were traveling....looked for a breakfast spot in the Hazleton area. Found Cusat's on Google with very good reviews. We were not disappointed. The omelets we had were VERY GOOD! Located in a charming residential neighborhood a few blocks off of Rt 93 (Broad Street) but worth the time to find it!

Google
Great Food! Reasonable prices and a good staff of workers always trying to make your visit memorable. Try a grilled steak and cheese sandwich with onions and peppers, best I’ve had in a long time!

Yelp
This restaurant is a good place for people who have come here for years. The servings were small, but the price was cheap. I went a handful of times, I remember the food being decent. This experience wasn't good. I got a hamburger, it was lacking in flavor and moisture. The bacon was nice and crispy. I got french fries with gravy and cheese. The fries were good. The gravy was very thin and the cheese taste like Kraft singles, I think it would have been better if I would've got them plain. The waitress was nice, but the service wasn't good. We did not get our drinks until the food came. I asked for mustard, I didn't get it until my burger was halfway eaten. We asked for our checks separate, they came together. The fries came after the burger was served. All around lacking.

Yelp
Best fried shrimp we've had in a long time. Homemade cocktail sauce was zesty. Fresh cut fries complement the meal. Entrees come with numerous options for sides. Our server Lynn did a great job with a Manhattan & a bay breeze mixed drinks. Fresh, crisp salads. There is ample parking. Everyone is so friendly that you'll feel comfortable asking other diners about their meal choices. We'll return soon!

Yelp
Local joint, semi clean and limited but good menu Our waitress on the other hand was anything but good. To be honest she was quite rude and the service she provided was less than satisfactory... I wish I knew her name or I would post it.

Yelp
Best sandwich I've ever had. Grilled steak and cheese with onions and peppers. Soup was delicious too.

Yelp
How does a breakfast place not have any breakfast food I went here at 10:00 and out of almost everything. Do Not Recommend!! It took 2 hours to get my food! When I got my food my order was wrong and got very small portions. If you want to have good food Do not come here.

Yelp
Cusat's is some of the best bar food in all of Hazleton. Chicken cheesesteak on grilled Italian bread is top notch! Great place for breakfast as well.

Yelp
Glaciers passed as we sat there wait for our food. We waited more than 45 minutes (close to an hour) for our food. It was good, but I'm not sure it was worth waiting AN HOUR for. The service wasn't that great, they definitely weren't apologetic about our forever long wait.

Yelp
Omg what a dirty place. Service poor and slow. Food the same. Was sick all day after eating here. Or maybe just everything tastes like an ashtray

Yelp

Yelp
ate breakfast their. Had grilled steak& cheese with the works , antipasto everything was vg good. in fact going next week for lunch with friends. always a return place.

Yelp
Best breakfast in the area by far. This is the same breakfast that use to be served at a Hazleton hot spot named Ernie's Family Steakhouse. The old cook also still cooks at Cusat's Cafe during the morning hours. Breakfast is served in the morning hours only till 12 so get there before then. A-plus breakfast in a pan.

Yelp
Best wings in Hazleton. Also excellent food prices. But rough Area and atmosphere is the only negative.
