The Salty Dog - Restaurant - Pub - Guesthouse

My partner, our dog, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience. We started with drinks on the terrace with an amazing sea view—I enjoyed a refreshing aperitivo cocktail, while my partner had a gluten-free, alcohol-free cider (great options for different preferences!). The welcoming vibe convinced us to stay for dinner, and we’re so glad we did. This cozy fish restaurant and pub is incredibly dog-friendly—our pup was allowed inside. The staff was very nice to welcome our request to give a bit of plain cooked fish to her. They served her fresh cod in a takeaway box! They also had water bowls outside and gave her plenty of attention. The food was fantastic—my partner had the pan-fried seabass fillet (gluten-free, with baby potatoes, mushrooms, and pesto beurre blanc), and I had the cold seafood platter, both fresh and delicious. The desserts and coffee were outstanding, and the prices were fair for the quality. The atmosphere was relaxed, the sea view was gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly—to both humans and dogs! Highly recommend for a great meal in a dog-friendly setting. We’ll definitely be back! P.S. Don’t miss a post-meal walk along the coast—Ballycotton is beautiful!

Beautiful view overlooking the pier and coast. Everything was good quality, simple and effective. Nice rooms, not fancy but, quality beds, and very clean. The bar and restaurant are comfortable and well laid out. Staff super helpful and good at their work. Pet friendly also Good value also for B&B, would definitely return.

An elegant and welcoming restaurant where you can eat very well and at a fair price, thanks to the skill of the chef. The staff is very friendly and helpful; they prepared a tasty vegetarian meal for us even though it wasn't on the menu; we thoroughly enjoyed it. The windows offer a beautiful sea view.

Had a fantastic family meal here. The food, especially the fish was so fresh. The chowder was beautiful and the kids food was very fresh and nice sized portions. Staff were great. Would highly recommend

Just had a fantastic lunch in the Salty Dog. Lovely room with a view of the harbour and light house. Very friendly service and fabulous food. We had a cold seafood platter and half a chowder with a shrimp Marie rose sandwich on brown bread. We will definitely back.

The most delicious fish and mussels we had in a long time , absolutely brilliant ! We have a guest house ourselves, so we know how hard it is to make this all work to such excellence. We highly recommend Salty Dog

We had The Sandwich and Fish & Chips and the Food was absolutely gorgeous! This place has got so much atmosphere and is perfect for a pint by the Sea 🌊 Thank you! We will come back!

We had a wonderful family meal with amazing views of Ballycotton lighthouse and the sea. The staff were really friendly, well trained and efficient. The food was just excellent and the portions were just right for us. We'll be back for sure and we recommend it highly.
