"Cutting Board was known for its excellent, wide selection of sushi (more than 60 different rolls to choose from) in a no-frills atmosphere, at affordable prices. When it first arrived, Crosscut called it a 'sushi game-changer' and said 'the cut and quality of fish was as good as any in town.' That quality had not seemed to wane in recent years, and the restaurant even gained a strong reputation for non-sushi items, including hambaagu, omu-rice, Napolitan spaghetti, and some katsu curry options." - Gabe Guarente

"Delicious and reasonably priced sushi in the Georgetown neighborhood..." Pros: Delicious sushi selection and reasonably priced (you won't feel like you're over-spending). Fresh fish and good quality. Friendly and down-to-earth staff, in a low-key and simple setting. Liked the humble ambience, not too fancy--a great way to enjoy sushi, dinner, and conversations. Cons: Parking can get quite full due to the bars next door. Happy Hour sushi selection could be more robust. Wished they closed a little later, say around 9pm as opposed to 8pm. Overall a very simple and humble Japanese restaurant that serves good sushi and a variety of dishes. A great place to hang out with friends and enjoy good food and company.

This place serves up big cuts of fresh sushi and sashimi at reasonable prices. Lots of great generous portions of very good Japanese food. Ive been coming here for years and they’ve been consistently good.

Had a Friday evening dinner and this place was mediocre at best. I wouldn't say it was particularly dirty, but it did not feel like a clean restaurant. Sitting in the back with the occasional view into the kitchen when the door opened certainly didn't help things. The kitchen floor is in dire need of a mopping and some general upkeep. As for the food, we ordered a few rolls (pictured) and they tasted ok but they looked very sloppy, if I wanted amateur sushi rolls I can make them at home without the ~$40 process tag. I can't recommend this place from my last experience as it was certainly sub par. The quality is too poor and the price is too high. Maybe I just had a bad experience but I don't plan on ever going back to verify.

I love the sashimi here. I love the nigiri here. I love the yakisoba here. And I love the curry here. But I have a new favorite at the Cutting Board now. Three words: spicy tuna tacos. Un-freaking-believable!! So tasty. Always love the service.

Excellent food at a good price! Tastes so good! Also love the owner of the restaurant. I forgot my expensive camera in his restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I tried my luck and called the owner yesterday. To my surprise, he kept it for me! I’m so glad that I got my camera back. Very honest man!

This excellent Japanese restaurant in Georgetown offers a diverse menu, with more than 70 sushi rolls, udon, yakisoba, tonkatsu, and other delicious foods at affordable prices. Very friendly staff. Order at the counter and they will bring your food to your table. The bento boxes offer a wonderful way to sample the many options on the diverse menu. Well worth a stop for lunch or dinner if you're in the neighborhood.

Has a great variety of sushi to choose from. About 60 rolls total. Always cooked fresh. Has rolls that are veggie friendly if you want to avoid fish. Be mindful that the parking lot is very small. Ordering on a sheet of paper to choose then you pay.
