Cuvee Coffee

I bought their El Salvador for pour over yesterday and it’s perfect! It’s great quality beans and the flavor notes are exactly as it says. I’m glad to have found them so close to my place.

BEYOND DELICIOUS coffee and even better customer service! I am a BIG fan and have subscribed to 5 lb. bag delivery of the Brazil blend that I cannot live without. One month my bag arrived with a tear and the company replaced it without blinking an eye. I will be a life long customer of this great Austin brand!

Cuvee Coffee is consistently outstanding. Kudos to Mike and Team. Since 2017 I've tried and enjoyed pretty much all of the different kinds of coffee that Cuvee Coffee offers (speaks for itself :-). Some favorites include Karmadillo, Stella Cometa, West Pole, Moka Java, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia... (and the list goes on, again speaks for itself :-). ENJOY! P.S. the Limited Editions are always worth trying!!

Phenomenal. I drink Cuvée three times a day. All French Press. It's so good, I've converted many of my friends and family to drinking black coffee. I order Cuvée online once a month and give 3/4 lbs bags as gifts often.

My wife bought me some Cuvée "West Pole" dark roast. I brew it with a pour over and it is very tasty. :-)

From a devoted drinker who has tried numerous local, state and national roasters' best blends and single origins: Cuvee is outstanding coffee. Chris S.'s review is right on the mark in several regards. Cuvee may well be among the very top coffees I have ever tasted, with the exception of Stumptown. And just as Chris S. pointed out, try a Starbucks drink. And then try a coffeehouse that serves Cuvee. My girlfriend did. She used to think that coffee was an acquired taste until I introduced her to amazing coffees like Brown, Cuvee, and Stumptown. Now, she just cannot get herself to drink a Starbucks latte. Coffee is dynamic. There is much that goes into making your cup of coffee good. A lot of it is in your hands, such as selecting the best bean for the brewing method you have, brewing with proper technique, and using good quality water. That which is not in your hands is the quality of bean and roasting technique. Cuvee is constantly trying new beans, tweaking their roasting techniques, and maximizing the goodness of the bean and farmer-roaster alliance. I finally made the pilgrimmage to Cuvee on a recent relaxing day. I talked with Hannah, the receptionist, and scheduled a visit on a Friday. Typically, tours are given several times a week, leaving Fridays for staff-meetings. I got lucky because Cuvee is soon changing their tours to once a month with periodic cuppings, or coffee tastings. I had the pleasure of talking with one of Cuvee's two coffee roasters, Logan. For almost an hour, he talked me through the life of the beans: how they are received, roasted, and bagged. He answered every question that I had, even the stupid ones, with courtesy and genuine passion. After discussing the throughput process with Logan, I was taken to Lorenzo, master barista. He talked me through the complex process of brewing and all the factors involved. I was lucky enough to have a comparison cupping in addition to Lorenzo's thoughtful short class. Mike McKim and his professional staff are passionate, focused, courteous, and welcoming. I cannot disagree more with the single one-star review that I noticed by Juan P. The staff at Cuvee were not at all snobby and Cuvee coffee is superior to Katz Coffee. Try the Meritage blend. It's my favorite, next to Stumptown's Hair Bender. If you have a Chemex, try the amazing Laguna Las Ranas.

I drink a damn lot of coffee. I grind away at massive Excel spreadsheets in an 8x8 cubicle until my eyes bleed. I have two kids that frequently interrupt my sleep, and I stay up too late surfing the web and playing video games. I yawn frequently. Coffee is very important to me. Based on financial audits performed by my concerned wife on my coffee drinking habit, I spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $150-$200 a month on coffee. That equates to approximately $2,000 per year, which is about the per capita GDP of Bangladesh. Now that I have established some minimum credibility in the area of coffee-consumption, allow me to state some opinions. Cuvee Coffee is not only clearly the best coffee roaster in the Austin area. Cuvee coffee is one of greatest craft coffee roasters in Texas, the United States, or, perhaps, the world. The espresso pulled from Cuvee beans is orders of magnitude better than just about anything else out there. Basically, the coffee shops that serve Cuvee have bad ass drinks while the competition begins to taste undrinkable in comparison. If you have any doubt, go to Starbucks and order a simple espresso-first drink like a double macchiato. Then, go to a Cuvee-based shop (like Caffe Medici, Patika, Caffe Yolly, or Houndstooth) and order the same thing. Cuvee has a great thing brewing in our backyard, and I enthusiastically throw my meaningless five stars to them for enriching and elevating the beverage that is so important to me.

I can't believe there isn't a review for this place yet! If you've ever had a really great cup of coffee in a fancy coffee shop or restaurant in Austin, chances are they got their beans from Cuvee. Cuvee is the premier roaster serving Austin and, for me at least, seeing that an establishment uses Cuvee beans is a mark of quality. If you're willing to take a bit of a scenic drive into the hill country, Cuvee has an open-door policy. You can go watch them work their magic on some of the loveliest beans from around the world, chat them up for brewing tips, or simply see where coffee comes from. The folks that run the show are that golden mix of friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated. But how about the coffee? Divine! Cuvee custom blends and roasts for each of their accounts. If you have a crush on a certain blend or bean from a certain shop, they can most likely get it to you. But their signature Toscano blend is to-die-for! Also, if you make the long journey, they give a discount if you buy beans with cash; all the more reason to pay them a visit! If you're a super-coffee-nerd, Cuvee also supplies coffee machinery to coffee shops and restaurants in Austin. They obviously know their stuff. They also feature a barista training program that many shops send their baristas to. Very exciting! Support those like Cuvee who aim to set the bar higher for coffee in Austin! Let's make sure Starbucks doesn't win the Chronicle poll again next year!

I'm a coffee junkie. I like coffee in the morning, at 2pm and after a delicious meal. I like to talk about coffee and all things about coffee. That being said, I can only tell you that Cuvee Coffee is one of the best roasters in Texas. I've been lucky to have various blends and dark roast selections over the past few years. I just wish they had more sales points in Houston! I was elated to find out you can now order online from their website. I recently caught an episode of The Texas Daytripper on PBS and saw that cozy Spicewood, Texas as the destination -- it's the home to Cuvee. A great review show their process as well as the intense passion for their work. It's definitely paying off as I consider this coffee roaster to be one of the best Texas has to offer. From the show, it looks like if you are on a road trip in the Austin region, you can stop by, tour the warehouse and get an idea of how Cuvee creates their magic. I can't wait to see for myself! Until then, I will enjoy ordering the coffee directly.

Cuvee Coffee has found its niche in the Texas Hill Country. And by niche, I mean they have found themselves deep in the craft coffee market. Though they don't possess much in the way of a storefront, with a coffee shop vibe, in which to enjoy their caffeinated pods, they seem to be doing fine wherever their products are found. They offer a hodgepodge of fun stuff, such as tours, classes, and a nice large facility at which to possibly purchase. They are roasting all sorts of beans, and as you can expect, they are doing it in a sustainable manner... they are in proximity to Austin, after all. Their offerings are spread far and wide, across Texas, mainly in the big cities, but their interactive map is fun, as it shows you that even some podunk towns and states (any state not named Texas) also carry Cuvee's award winning roasted coffee beans, only found inside the can't-miss bright blue bag. Wherever you are in Austin, it is quite possible that you will be drinking Cuvee Coffee. If it tastes good, you can pretty much assume it is gonna be Cuvee. Caffeine junkies will have no problem enjoying this junk.

I run a coffee shop in Lake Jackson TX, and we have used Cuvee since day 1 which was almost 7 years ago. I can not brag enough about what a wonderful company this is. Their customer service is always on point and friendly, and any time we have had a problem they always thrive to make sure we are okay as we figure out what happened. We look forward to our ongoing relationship with them as we grow!

The staff are the nicest people and whats not to love about coffee in the morning and a good beer at night?

I recommend the latte or the cappucino. It is great! I seem to recognize the name Cuvee from when I would get coffee at Once Over Coffee bar. I may have already posted a review for Once Over. I think they share the same source of coffee. Really a high-quality cup of coffee. Also a reasonably nice, quiet atmosphere, making Cuvee a good place to unwind in the afternoon. Next time I'm in the area, I will stop at Cuvee again.

THE absolute most perfectly roasted beans a person can brew! Do you bake a cookie at 500 degrees for 10 seconds? No. Just as there's an ideal time/temperature for each kind of cookie, so is there for each kind of bean. Cuvée has mastered the recipes for each bean that they personally procure from farmers abroad. If you want the best, buy Cuvée!

Don't waste your palate on their coffee. They had to leave Houston because Katz Coffee was kicking their tail. Total coffee elitist and they believe that no one else in the state knows more than they do about anything coffee related. A real humble group, NOT!

We finally found this hidden gem in our "own back yard" and have bought coffee twice, trying four different types. We love the coffee. The receptionist (Heather?, Hannah?) has always been super sweet and helpful. They periodically give tours, and we hope to join one of those in the near future.
