"Born and raised in South Carolina’s Lowcountry and trained at Johnson & Wales in Charleston, chef Andarrio Johnson made his way to Charlotte in 2011, when he and cousin Anglee Brown started a soul food truck named Cuzzo’s Cuisine. The business was such a success that they soon opened a brick-and-mortar location on the West Side, where they serve their famous lobster mac and cheese, plus other favorites like fried chicken, collard greens, fried oysters, and shrimp and grits."

The food was absolutely delicious. Oh my goodness. The flounder was so soft, and the macaroni with lobster was banging. Definitely a go to spot. Even though I had 6 trays... the wait was longer than expected, but I suppose you can't rush perfection. The bill for the 6 trays was well worth it also. No complaints.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. If you have a chance you NEED to go here. The customer service is immaculate. The food is astounding. My taste buds experienced euphoria today. The music and environment are perfect and it feels like being with family. We came in a group and they treated us amazingly. Hit that Sunday buffet!

My family was visiting the area and decided to give this place a try. As soon as we walked in we knew we choose the right place. The staff was amazing and very helpful. We ordered the Chefs Platter special to try a little of everything. Everything was delicious. The price was great. No crumbs were left! The presentation was everything! The lobster Mac was a big hit. This is our new go-in Charlotte.

I've been following this restaurant for some time now, and finally got a chance to try them, after flying into Charlotte. Off the bat, customer service was definitely flawed, but I decided to give it a try anyway... Everything sounded so good, but I played it safe and went with what I knew. I tried the wing combo and it was really good. From the sauce of the wings, the crispiness, and the hot crinkle cut fries--- I killed that plate within minutes. I don't know if I was that hungry after my flight or the food was really that freaking good, but it didn't last. I hope the next time I visit, the people are more friendly and provide better service, but can't wait to give everything else a try.

I tried the lemon pepper wings with crab Mac n cheese (penne noodles instead of macaroni noodles). Taste is ok. The wings are fried hard (a little too hard for my liking). My husband had the fish tacos (which are DELICIOUS). We both got strawberry banana pudding that has 4 wafers on top. Those will be the ONLY wafers in your pudding 😫. We spent $63 for this entire meal including drinks. Not worth the price for quantity and quality in my opinion.

Great service and friendly folks. Got the shrimp and grits which is creamy and good. Also got the fried shrimp, lobster Mac, and jerk wings. Jerk wings aren't too spicy don't be scared. Wish the lobster Mac came with a little more lobster but the meal was fresh and delicious ✊🏾

We tried Cuzzo's today. Ordered the famous lobster mac and cheese, honey mustard wings and fries, peach cobbler waffle and tenders, and cactus pear lemonade drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. 4/5 stars because my tenders were on the skimpy side, but my meal left me satisfied. We will be back again! Keep it up team!

I got the Sunday special for $20.00. The Sunday special came with six sides (including lobster 🦞 mac and cheese 🧀 ) fried chicken 🍗, drink, cornbread 🍞and dessert 🎂. The food is good 👍. I like the chicken; it was fried extra hard. I like mine not fried as hard. The food was seasoned well. The security guard was way extra; get against the wall, get closer to the food line. I felt like I was in a county jail chow line... The dude loves his job, lol 😆

Yelp
This has been my favorite go to spot for years! Whenever I have family or friends in town visiting, Cuzzo's is always one of my go to places to take people. My favorite dish is always the strips tossed in golden bbq sauce with lobster Mac. The last time I went I had to admit I was thoroughly impressed with the portion size. If you get a chance to go on a Sunday I recommend hands down. On Sunday, they have a buffet with at least 6 different options to choose from or all of them if you want. The menu is always posted earlier during the week on Instagram. So go check them out! Also if you're going to try anything, make sure to at least order some of their lobster Mac & Cheese with one of their homemade lemonades!

Yelp
A must visit. Cuzzos should be on everyone's food bucket list. The staff were so personable personable, welcoming, and friendly! We ordered the Lobster Mac, fried fish, house wings, cinnamon chips, and raspberry cucumber lemonade. We even got to sample an item that will be on the menu soon- chocolate chip waffles- they were delicious! I'm from out of town but will make this cute place a stop every time I fly out here. Please bring Cuzzos to the West coast. Much love- see you soon!

Yelp
Food was amazing! We did go at a busy time, so be prepared to wait at certain times. Mac and Cheese was amazing.

Yelp
I'm embarrassed to say how long I've lived in Charlotte before FINALLY trying Cuzzo's. It's been on my list for awhile but just haven't made it out there until now. Let me start by saying their cajun fried chicken is the best fried chicken in the city, hands down! I can't believe how good it was. I'm still in awe lol. The sides were good as well and the lemonade was delicious. I'm not a fan of banana pudding but decided to try their strawberry banana pudding anyway because it came with the meal. I personally didn't enjoy it, but someone who likes banana pudding might. I'm looking forward to trying them out again on a typical day where we can order straight from their menu and try other items. This might've been my first time at Cuzzo's but it definitely won't be the last!

Yelp
Cuzzos never disappoints! You are greeted with great energy by their staff and big smiles. They were helpful with explaining the menu and giving suggestions. The restaurant has bold colors and has a pretty cozy set up. Limited seating so you may take it to go but the outdoor seating is perfect for a nice day. The celebrity wall is also a nice touch, really shows how much conversation their amazing food is creating. Jerk wings with lobster mac and cheese (9/10) it was good!! The fish, shrimp and lobster mac and cheese (9/10) also delicious! Had to get another side of lobster mac & cheese because of how amazing it is! This is a must go to every time I am in town.

Yelp
Cuzzo's Cuisine is one my favorite blacked owned restaurants in the Charlotte area. Everything is always on point from the wings, waffles, and that oh so famous lobster mac and cheese. This is a must go spot when visiting Charlotte!

Yelp
It's no secret that Cuzzo's has some of the best food in the Queen City! After trying their Lobster Mac & Cheese at a food festival last year, I finally made my way into their eat-in restaurant. I was a bit shocked to see they have security at the front door but I wasn't mad at it. All of the employees were friendly, especially the bouncer. It was a Wednesday night and it was pretty empty, but plenty of DoorDash folks going in and out. We waited about 40 minutes for our food but at least it was worth it. Lobster Mac & Cheese: The flavor of this dish is impeccable, huge pieces of lobster although I wasn't sure if there was some imitation crab in there as filler Grilled Shrimp: 10/10! They just need some butter or garlic dipping sauce for these Red Velvet Chicken & Waffles: Off the darn chain!!! Match made in heaven! The red velvet waffle was everything while the chicken was just ok, will try it with wings next time Peach Cobbler Waffle: I really hope I'm wrong but the peaches tasted and looked like pears. It was absolutely delicious, I was just confused! Other than that, this waffle was a 10/10! The juices/lemonades weren't anything special. I really enjoyed the music they were playing, Jazz renditions of your favorite R&B jams from Alicia Keys to Beyoncé. Of course I will be back, their menu is full of goodies you won't find anywhere else! I will be back for the strawberry banana pudding and I hear they have a soul food buffet on Sundays.

Yelp
WOW! Cuzzo's Cuisine caught my eye, via Instagram, with endless photos of delicious, made-from-scratch food. As soon as you walk in to their Tuckaseegee Rd location, you're met with high energy and smiles. KP assisted me with such enthusiasm that would brighten anyone's day. When you walk in, you'll select the buffet option that you'd like and pay. Once you pay you'll receive a ticket that you'll hand to the server at the beginning of the buffet. This is not self serve, so you pick your sides and move down the line toward the meat. All of your food will be in one tray and the meat is separated from the the sides with a tissue paper. I had rice, green beans, candied yams, lobster mac, fried chicken, and oxtails. (For JUST $30!!) All of the sides were excellent compliments to each other and prepared so well. The chicken was SOOOO crunchy and perfectly seasoned; the oxtails so tender and delicious! All of the servers are very nice and move quickly. It is so refreshing to see such strong teamwork in a fast paced environment. As you make your way through the line, you will have the opportunity to pick up napkins, plastic ware, straw, and an iced tea or water. If you have time to dine in, I highly suggest enjoying your meal while it's nice and hot because you'll be tempted your whole drive home!

Yelp
This new location at the premium outlet is so slow. I waited over 30 mins for shrimp, fish and mac n cheese this just didn't make any sense.

Amanda C.

Yelp
I ordered via uber eats, it initially said pickup was 20-30 minutes but after placing the order it changed to 60-70 minutes. I get it, they're busy, but knowing that up front is important. Overall, the food is good. Wings- I got the lemon pepper: definitely lacking flavor. Shrimp- amazing! Fish- kinda rough but it was good. Lobster mac and cheese- ok, it has to be a mix of a little lobster and a lot of imitation crab. Regardless, thoroughly enjoyed. The mac and cheese itself is divine, the seafood or imitation just adds to the yum! Strawberry banana pudding- idk, personally I'd prefer just regular banana pudding as the strawberries were minimal (2 small pieces) and then the strawberry syrup on top didn't add anything to the dessert. In conclusion- I will be going again! Staff is friendly and they definitely are trying to get the orders out but when I was there 8 of us were waiting, needless to say this business is blessed and I can see why!

Mary Morton ..

Yelp
I love Cuzzo's Cuisine. Excellent service and the food is amazing Will come back again and again

Alfay J.

Yelp
I recently visited the location of the premium outlets for lunch. I got to the counter and had to wait until the employees finished having a personal conversation before finally being acknowledged. Once I was finally addressed the employee looked at me as if I was inconveniencing her by wanting to place an order. This kind of customer service discouraged me from going to African-American-owned businesses. Besides the customer service experience the food was very delicious.

Yelp
It's Eat Black CLT week which is the perfect opportunity to try a new place you haven't tried before! Eat Black CLT week runs through this Sunday, June 12th - so you still have time! We tried Cuzzo's Cuisine @cuzzoscuisine because I was sold on the Lobster Mac and Cheese! I ended up getting the Shrimp and 1/2 Lobster Mac and Cheese entree which was only $13.00 as part of the Eat Blk Charlotte specials. The lobster mac and cheese sure delivered! It was super cheesy, so cheesy in fact you can't even visibly detect the lobster chunks cause they are covered in cheese! The shrimp was perfectly fried as were the chicken tenders my husband got! Seasoning was on point! Also on point was the playlist of jazz music versions of r&b classics. Side note, that we ate inside and I really enjoyed all the photos adoring the walls of all the celebrities who have eaten Cuzzo's! Huge Real Housewives of Anything fan over here so I loved seeing Kandi Burruss on the wall! I would definitely return next time I'm craving some fried seafood and lobster Mac. The portion sizes and price point are super reasonable and the vibes were 100. @feisty.eats

Yelp
lemon pepper wings & lobster mac & cheese. so good, def recommended! The drinks are amazing as well, so refreshing.

Yelp
I visited this place for the first time with my family on 27 July 2024 and spend over $120 for four meals for inside dining. The food was over cooked and not freshly prepared. I got their signature meal Fish and Mac Lobster. The meal was served in plastic ware as if I was eating from a food truck. The plastic ware was cheap and weak in that it was not able to cut the fish. The place had a nice vibe but I was there for the food and the food was not properly prepared to be considered a top Black Owned restaurant or any top food place. I would not eat there again and I will be contacting the business today to provide my feedback.

Yelp
We recently tried this place in Charlotte and we are in love, to say the least. The shrimp was incredible, the lobster mac was impeccable, and the wings were insane. When we first walked in, there was a screen on the counter to protect from airborne germs. The customer service was excellent, especially for us as first timers. The staff gave us some great recommendations and were patient with us as we drooled all over the menu. We ended up ordering the shrimp & wings combo plate because we wanted to try as much as we could.... all with the infamous lobster mac & cheese! Let me tell you: that lobster mac & cheese was crazy delicious! It even had huge chunks of fresh lobster in it. I saved those parts for last! The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and had the tail taken off so it didn't get in our way. And the wings were so tasty! We tried the lemon pepper and barbecue flavors and will definitely try the jerk next! Our favorite part of the meal was definitely the lobster mac & cheese. Please do not go there without it! All in all, we will definitely come back here whenever we come back to Charlotte. It's a must!

Yelp
Hubby and I heard about this place via social media. The food looked bomb on the pictures so we decided to give it a try. It was about a 40 minute drive for us to get to this location. 1. Service - we went in to order carry out. The young lady who took our order was very pleasant and made recommendations on what to try. She even said what we should try next time. Lesson learned - we should have placed our order online so it would have been ready by the time we got there. It took about 40+ minutes to be ready. Hubby and I sat in the car and watched a episode on Netflix. 2. The food was definitely hot and fresh once we got it. Here's what we ordered: - 10 Mambo wings - 10 Hot wings - oysters and fries - red velvet waffle with the cream cheese and strawberries - strawberry banana pudding The food was delicious! My faves were the oysters and waffles. I think I would have preferred the honey mustard wings. The wings were also a little too well done for our liking. I'd definitely try it again though. Also, they are not stingy with the sauces/condiments, napkins, and silverware. We had more than enough. Definitely worth the wait (even though we don't like waiting haha)! You will not be disappointed. Only gave 4 stars because the wings were a little over cooked for us, but some people like it that way. Sorry no pictures! We devoured it immediately. But the pictures on their website are pretty dang close to what you'll get!!

Yelp
Cuzzo's wasn't on my radar at all until some Yelp friends started raving about it. The restaurant is small. It seems like they mostly do take out. There are a handful of tables though so you can eat there. We went for lunch one day and I'm not sure if it was abnormal, but they got a huge to go order before us that they were working on, so they warned us our food could take 30-45 minutes. We were already there, so we decided to wait. I'm so glad we stayed because the food was amazing. I got the shrimp and half lobster mac and cheese combo and the peach cobbler chicken and waffles with house seasoning on the wings. I honestly can't pick a favorite because everything was so good. The lobster mac and cheese was rich and creamy. The shrimp and wings were seasoned perfectly. Dry rub wings aren't always my thing, but these were made so well. The waffle was basically dessert. It was so good on it's own I forgot about the syrup. I wish I had pictures to share, but the food was so good I forgot to take any. I'll be back for sure!

Jamila W.

Yelp
Was it worth it? This is the question I have to ask myself now that I'm on health kick and my weekly reward is a cheat meal. I decided this week's reward would be Cuzzo's Cuisine after looking at a Facebook friend posted her fish, lobster mac & cheese and red velvet waffles. It looked delicious. So I ordered the fish and half lobster mac with collard greens...because why not? The fish was fried and good with that Cajun tarter sauce. The collard greens were good and tasty. My disappointment went to the lobster mac & cheese. It wasn't creamy and it lacked lobster. I was extremely sadden by this because I was looking forward to eating it. Was it worth it? Not really. I think food that invokes your inner hungry beast where you want to eat there again immediately is worth it and it did not invoke that passion. I would also say that I ordered my food to go. The restaurant has a small parking spot and even smaller inside for indoor seating. The staff was pretty friendly and I didn't have to wait long.

Clarissa S.

Yelp
This is not acceptable why would you charge me $20 for one oxtail scratch that why did you make me pay $40 for two plates with one oxtail in each box? This is not OK because we have been supporting you since you started. You would think you treat is better than this.

Carolyn L.

Yelp
I have chasing their food truck numerous time. It come to a point where the lady that work the truck know what I will order when I walked up.. Finally today I get to visit their storefront. And I couldn't been happier. You're greeted when you walked thru that door. The hostesses give some of the brightest smiles.. I ordered my usual which is the chicken and red velvet waffle.. my cousin ordered the jerk wings, lobster Mac and cheese with battered shrimps and some strawberry banana pudding. I love my waffle. Crispy on the outside. And the wings was nicely seasoned with a special dry rub! I will alway be a fine of Cuzzo Food Truck but if my craving get bad and I have find them.. now I have a store front to visit anytime!

Crystal S.

Yelp
The fact that you, the owner, thinks an hour for some wings is laughable at best, triflin at worst. This review is 6 months old, you reply like you cook. Bless your heart

Troycee M.

Yelp
My review today is not about the food but about the experience. The female staff at the front of the establishment that handles to go orders and I'm guessing overall check in are not not friendly and borderline rude. I've never came to pickup paid food only to want to leave my order at the establishment. I'm not upset at the policy of having to show your ID and cc for mobile order pickups but it's the delivery from the staff that makes it a displeasing experience. Again this is not for the experience of the food but just the experience. I can't see myself coming back to this restaurant based on service alone

Cheyenne B.

Yelp
THE LOBSTER MAC & CHEESE IS NOT REAL LOBSTER!!!! it is 100% imitation crab. After bringing this up to the chef/manager, he refused to issue a refund and denied that it was imitation. I took the rest of my food home and washed off a piece of "lobster" and it 100% revealed that it was in fact imitation meat. SEE PHOTOS! This place is false advertising and can/SHOULD be sued for labeling an item as something it is not. Lastly, after looking further into their reviews on yelp, 4 other people pointed out that the "lobster" mac & cheese was NOT lobster AT ALL!

Keshundra J.

Yelp
Cuzzo's Cuisine the one that's located in the food court at Charlotte Premium Outlets was horrible. I ordered wings and baked Mac and cheese. Two of the wings were extremely cold, and the other 4 were fried overly hard. The Mac and cheese was to greasy and it didn't taste like how it normally does. I asked if I could get tenders instead of the wings after explaining why I didn't want them l, I was offered a 10% discount off of the regular price of tenders. As a business be open to feedback, and take care of the issue in a professional way. No apologies or anything just a slap in the face and a waste of my time and money. To top it off I ended up vomiting in the parking lot from the Mac and cheese that I ate it immediately didn't set right and I'm just over it

Wayne T.

Yelp
Had the chicken and fries combo. Had the house dry rub which was very good and I recommend it. The service was great and very friendly. Definitely will be back to try something new from the menu.

Deborah H.

Yelp
I was so hungry last night I wanted to order something good to eat. I ordered collard greens, wings,n baked macaroni. the wings were like rubber which was very weird to me . the macaroni just had velveeta melted on top and the greens had tomatoes cut up in it! (WTF...) AND it was very salty. I ordered 2 meals for $60 !!!!! I'm pissed because my meal was gross... what a waste of money!!! No love put into this meal. I like to support black owned businesses , but this one I can't. they did me wrong...

Joyce G.

Yelp
I've waited and do believe they have enough healthy scores for my truth. Service: Shawn saves the place and should remain front house or backhouse mgr while training others to do hee job. She makes the 4.5 star level. I hate the whole you've got to give your credit card over the phone, but I do like they have the online system to text or Email receipts. Food: 3 stars. The fish and shrimp saves it for me. *Meant to try the waffles, wings, beans No luck just yet. *Quality fish and it's not fried hard so you'll have to ask for that. *No catfish which I adore. I gave it up. *** This isn't semantics it's just a fact. The mac & cheese has Langostino. Lobster is buttery. Langostino is akin like a cousin parallel to crawfish being in the family. Red Lobster was sued for this misnomer usage. I don't expect a small business to do as Red Lobster, yet disclosures are most helpful with the allergens that are prominent. **** Delivery/DoorDash: 3.5 stars Placed order via Doordash as I prefer to ordering online versus waiting in person and holding the line to give my cc over the phone. See pickup time? Arrived to wait 19more minutes per the counter. See screenshot time on latest photo. Calling In: give it up. 1st of the month, Fridays, weekends - nearly impossible to get through except Sundays because of the buffet. Pricing: although business is robust the prices are increasing. Idk what to tell ya. I didn't ask for an answer. I've got 5-7 minutes based on that adjustment I was told about upon asking. There seems to be a designated "pick up" area now and the 2 cashiers are only for ringing up orders not even checking to see if your online/call in is ready. This may be attributed to they know the actual wait time. Again, idk but maybe I'll try again in a few months. It's a better wait than some other local FUBU places in town.

Zaria D.

Yelp
I am so glad that I found a new spot while in Charlotte. My friend suggested it. I remembered the location from when I first moved to NC in 1997 but clearly this was a different restaurant. It is not a huge place but enough room to sit down and eat. The women working were friendly and very helpful to me as a new customer. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese along with shrimp and grits. It didn't take long for my food to be prepared. I also ordered one of their drinks which came with the meal when I picked it up at the counter. Let's start with the lobster Mac and cheese. My goodness, it was so good. The pasta, cheese and lobster was a great combination. There was actually a lot of lobster in it. It had great flavor. The grits were how I love them and what I miss about the south, very smooth. The shrimp was sautéed and was good. There was no sauce over them but the two still complimented the other. The drink was awesome. I wish I could have gotten more to take with me. I will definitely come back when in town. Good customer service and great food. The best experience for me this week.

Yelp
Just left "Soul Food Sunday's" The Fried Chicken was phenomenal! Greens , Yams, lobster Mac & cheese , Ox tails, strawberry banana pudding, sweet tea. Best Soul Food in Charlotte!!!

Shay J.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Cuzzo's Cuisines restaurant. I use to visit their food truck all the time - which was amazing! I decided to visit on a Sunday for their Soul Food Sunday $17 Takeout Buffet. Customers can enjoy a variety of options like Shrimp Potato Casserole, Cajun Fried Chicken, Green Beans, Collard Greens, Lobster Mac & Cheese and more! This buffet also includes a dessert, water (and/or) sweet tea. I would highly suggest arriving early to beat the crowd. I arrived 15mins before opening hours, with only 6-7 people in front of me. I was in and out in no time flat, thanks to their customer monitoring and hands free buffet. I ordered the Cajun Fried chicken, collard greens, lobster Mac and banana pudding. Everything was great!

Risto K.

Yelp
Hole in the wall with an ok food. If you like fried food and lots of it, this is place for you. Fried Chicken, fried fish, waffles and wings and that's about it. They have their own drink KuMelon which is a watermelon cucumber drink labeled as pink lemonade. Didn't seem to have lemon... Also water is not free which was kinda odd.... Waited about 20 minutes for food, along with everyone else. How did this place get 4+ stars on Yelp is a great mystery!!!!

Phylicia R.

Yelp
Cuzzo's has delicious food! I've been here a couple times before a long time ago before I used Yelp and I've never been disappointed with their food. I have no bad things to say about cuzzo's their Mac is delicious their chicken their waffles (my favorite item actually) all their food is really good. The only thing I wish was different is the price for their waffles. Sometimes I just want a waffle & order something else, but I don't see paying basically $8 for a waffle is justifiable. It's good don't get me wrong! But $8? (It's $7 and some change rounding it up to $8) maybe $5 at most? Either way you're in the area check out Cuzzo's!

Jenny B.

Yelp
Whoooaaaa man! I heard about Cuzzo's through Instagram and had to check it out! I placed my order online (about 1.5 hours ahead of time). 100% do this. Do NOT go in right now during COVID or you will wait forever for your food. When I arrived they had a line out the door as they were ensuring the occupancy was managed. When you go inside you will tell them your order name and show proof of your photo ID and credit card used. This is very important. If you don't have your card/ID they will not honor the order. I ended up ordering the combo with fried shrimp and lobster Mac n cheese. The shrimp was huge and lightly breaded. I also got a side of tartar and the hot sauce. I was very impressed. Now on to the lobster Mac. OMG!!! It was cheesy and I was impressed with how much lobster there was in it. It was 100% a cheat meal/comfort meal night at my house and I was here for it! So damn good!!!!! Cuzzo's also has a food truck and is A Black-Owned local company. Definitely follow them on Instagram as well to see daily specials and drool worthy pics. This is a must go to on my list.

JE S.

Yelp
Come on you say. 5 stars? I say yep! Nothing fancy here except the food. Oh my god! The food! I've eaten Mac n cheese w/lobster around the world, but this is it. I'm telling you. It's amazing. We had killer collards with lemon wings that were perfection. The shrimp was light and crispy, with slightly spicy waffle chips and a Cajun dipping sauce. So good. You get a lot of food. We could have split something, but now we are happily taking home leftovers. The staff is friendly and the place is super clean. It's also real easy off the Highway. I can't recommend this place enough. Try it and do send me a thank you.

Moya L.

Yelp
Placed order online, got there to pick it up and the security very disrespectfully told me to go back outside without me able to even tell them I already paid for my order and didn't need to place one inside (which is why I didn't have my mask on) i handed the cashier my card for verify online payment and he grabbed my card and handed it back to me and told me to go outside. never giving them anymore of my money

Alexex C.

Yelp
Cuzco's Food hands down a highlight for Charlotte. Healthy size portions great variety of choices. Food is amazing from the wings to fish tacos

Donald R.

Yelp
It was my first time here. Came there for after lunch early dinner. Greeted at the door by the big security guy. Walk up to the counter to order, you give your name, pay, seat yourself, and they will bring your food out to you when it is ready operation. Before I paid, she asked me if it's was ok that the food would take about 25 minutes to be ready. The customer service is great. I ordered fried oysters and fries to eat there. I also ordered 5 lemon pepper wings and 5 mambo sauce wings to go. The oysters were very good, seasoned well, and fried right, but they were too small. The waffles fries were good. The lemon pepper wings did not have enough lemon flavor and fried a little too hard. The mambo sauce wings have a very nice flavor. They were good, but they also were fried a little too hard. The wings are not whole wings. I wish places start using the correct description of wings. If you have wings, that should mean one piece, including a drum, a flat, and a tip or just a drum and a flat. Wing dings or wingettes should be used for wing pieces drums and flats. Just my 2 cents.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for a while, stalking the lobster Mac and cheese pics just waiting for the convenient time to make my move. Finally, things got slow at work and I fought my way through the cat calls to the safety of their four walls. "Welcome to cuzzos" the cashier said as I walked through the door. My eyes were big and my stomach was ready, shrimp, wings, tenders, lobster Mac and cheese... I wanted it all! But I had talk myself down, I have a waistline and a wallet to be considerate of. So, I chose the lobster Mac and cheese and tenders. They are not very fast and to be honest, my portion was a little smaller than I anticipated. The tenders were kinda skimpy but they tasted good. The Mac and cheese was everything I could have hoped for and the lobster isn't "too much" but nicely added in there. You can add a sauce to your tenders, the bbq looks like mild but it tastes good. There's room to eat in here but most people were taking their food to go. It comes in little black containers that can be reused to that's useful. I'll definitely be back to explore more menu options. Oh, they offer 10% off for students!

Yelp
After Yelp stalking this place for about a year or so, I FINALLY was in the area at the right time to give this place a try. First I'll start with the good: The staff were very personable and helpful. They were friendly and appeared as if they enjoyed being there. The lobster mac... wow.... the lobster mac. Never had it before, but I need more of it in my life. The bad: The area where I was sitting seemed a bit cramped. It wasn't a deal breaker, but I was almost tempted to eat in my car. The chicken wings were fried hard. I know there are some people that like that (for some reason), however I am not one of them. Tender and flavorful is the name of the game for me when it comes to wings. Because of the texture of the wings, I could not enjoy them. They were edible, but I ate them because I paid for them. Either way, it was a pretty good first visit. I probably wont get the wings again but the menu was full of other things I'm curious to try. But I WILL be getting more of the lobster mac, that pretty much goes without saying. If you're in the area, check them out.

Yelp
First of all I'm trying to figure out as many years I have been eating here and I have never once bothered to do a review ?! Shame on me , because all the goodness they are serving at Cuzzo's Cuisine is so good it makes you wanna slap your mama no lie . During this time of being quarantined due to corona virus I have still been finding the time to support a business or two for takeout or delivery. I have tried a number of things but just recently I ordered the lemon pepper wings with a side of lobster Mac n cheese and let me tell you baby those wings were finger licking good ! The lobster Mac n cheese was heaven on earth . You have got to try their flavored drinks as well I always get the same one which is the cucumber pink lemonade it's so refreshing and a taste like no other . As I write this review now I'm sitting here like a fiend plotting on making another pick up order . I posted video footage of my wings/ lobster Mac n cheese for drooling purposes .

Yelp
I'll start off by saying the KuMelon drink is phenomenal. The flavor is so unique & refreshing. 1 hour & $23 later, this is the plate that I received...

Yelp
My first experience was bitter and sweet. The food was not bad at all. I ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Others ordered, wings & fries (6 wing pieces) and fish and grits (see photo). For the dinner prices, I expected the portions to be larger. I also ordered one of the two desserts, strawberry banana pudding. This was the "sweet." It was flavorful with just enough strawberries. Very nice. Food = 4/5 stars. The bitter...I ordered online and arrived to pick it up about 90 minutes later. I had to wait outside (only five customers allowed in at once with monitoring by a sheriff deputy). It was another scorching day and the sun hit me right in the face. One staff member at the front was taking phone orders (but was not busy). Another was delivering curbside orders. The third was waiting on customers entering to pick up. She had to 1) locate the receipt, 2) confirm identify, 3) go in the back to get the dishes for the order and bring them to the front, 4) double-check the contents, and 5) bag the order. This process caused the backup. In total, it took 30 minutes to walk out with my order. Any improvement in this process will help the restaurant keep customers coming back. For the price paid, this is unacceptable and it is highly unlikely I will visit again because of the wait. The restaurant isn't that large and I anticipate a mess even when we are allowed to try and enter at once. Service overall, though, was great. 3/5 stars

Yelp
So so good! Loved everything! This is the epitome of soul food! The lobster Mac and cheese is the way to go! Definitely will try to make it back!

Yelp
Lets just say I am giving 4 stars as if they can improve on the online ordering and pickup process being better organized it would be 5 stars all day. Other than that once I got inside the staff was very friendly and even with a big order the young lady took her time to ensure that I wasn't missing a plate. I don't get that from some of these chains as they just throw your stuff in your bag and then I get home to discover something isn't right. She inspected it all. Kudos I have known chef andario for years since his days working in venues in SC. It has been a pleasure to watch him grow the business and his brand. I am very proud of him for what he has established here in Charlotte. I had some friends in town and was like let's hit up cuzzos as I wanted others to experience this deliciousness. Unfortunately I didn't order enough because people inhaled the plates which is a good thing right. Keep up the good work everyone

Yelp
Good food, but disappointingly long wait time. This is the first time I've been, so maybe covid is to blame here. We placed an online order through their site at 10am for an 11:45 pickup. Food came out at 12:15. I ordered the fried shrimp and lobster mac combo for $15. Pricey for lunch but the fried shrimp was crispy and well seasoned. As for the lobster mac and cheese, naming it that is somewhat misleading. It's really a creamy cajun pasta. If I went back, I would skip the mac and get the friend shrimp again, but I would wait until covid has calmed down to see if their service speeds up.

Yelp
Cuzzo's is a mixed bag. I ordered the fried shrimp and half lobster mac combo. On the one hand, the shrimp was really good: well seasoned and nicely breaded. On the other hand, the lobster mac was just...okay. Everyone hyped it up so much. It's not bad, but it's not great. It's got decent flavor. Maybe it would be better with more cheese and elbow macaroni instead of using penne pasta? I don't know. Meh.

Yelp
Love this place and eat here quite a bit. A lot of negative reviews I see complain about price & wait time. If you are impatient please don't dine out.. the world does not revolve around you. The food is delicious.

Yelp
The food is superb! If you are looking for some good down home southern food. This is the place for you. The portions are also a very nice size. I will be coming back!
