Really weird interaction. I was looking for some kind of travel size body spray in this heat. An employee asked in a condescending tone if I needed anything. I instantly felt uncomfortable and responded, "No, thank you," because I just wanted him to go away. He proceeded to stand at the end of the aisle I was in and just stare at me. I am a well dressed, high school teacher. It was very strange, but I wondered if I was profiled because I'm autistic and I don't have good eye contact. I finally decided on something, but couldn't open the locked shelf. He continued to stare at me instead of offering to help. I left without buying anything and I dont think I'll ever come back. Please train your employees to, at the bare minimum, not intimidate your customers.

I moved to the West Village a little over a year ago. This location is the closest CVS to us. Everyone - and I mean everyone working here is SO nice and helpful and polite. I have never had such a positive experience with the Pharmacy. Every time I'm there I'm always still surprised at just how nice and helpful they are.

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.

Google
Nice standby staple store 🏪 in the area. I enjoyed a good snack 🥨 pack of pretzels, grapes 🍇, cheddar, & pepperoni before heading over to Washington Square ⬛ for a commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Although the stores are clean and the staff is friendly most of the time, beware that prices products from store to store especially here in New York City. Consumer value depends on which store you go to. I urge CVS to have the uniform prices across all stores. A model company that has uniform prices across the country for customers happens to be Trader Joe's.

This is the worst CVS in NYC. I placed an online pickup order, but after a few days I got an notification saying it had already been picked up. I called the store, and a woman with an Indian accent admitted they made a mistake but said she needed to call someone first and didn't have time right now. I found that hard to believe—she could have simply refunded me on the spot but seemed unwilling to do so. I then called CVS customer service at their 800 number, and thankfully, they processed my refund without issue. Disappointed with the store's handling of the situation

My prescription was referred by RiteAid and the phone system refuses to offer any assistance. I am not allowed to speak to any person, only an automated voice.

Google
They're super patient despite all the traffic and chaos in and around the store. They're beautiful individuals with a positive attitude. I'd come back here, again and again.

Google
Kodak photo developing and print service does not work well at all. It was taking so long I left. At other pharmacies it had been quick and easy to print photos, but here it was not working well at all, and there are no employees who know how to help.

Yelp
Valentine seasons, so many cute characters goods are at cvs store. hurry up! Before sold out your favorite. 24H cvs non judgmental vibes no strangers coming into the store. airs pretty safe for shopping. Pharmacy has hrs. self checking and cashier services are available. Bank of America is next to it. (Chase bank is across)

Yelp
Pharmacy assistants are always nice. However, their new automated phone system is beyond HORRIBLE. Also, I called in a prescription 3 days ago and was told it would be ready in a few days. I just called and the pharmacist says it has not been filled as the doctor has to authorize a refill. I asked why didn't they tell me that when I called it in and she had no good answer. I asked would you ever call or text of e mail me as you have all my contact info. Again, no answer. If I have not called them, I would be waiting until they go our of business due to horrible service. Oh, it gets worse! I called back and spoke to someone else there and she informed me that it does not need re authorization from my doctor but it just needed to be ordered from CVS central distribution which will take a few more days. They just don't have their act together which is quite disturbing as they deal with our important prescriptions.

Yelp
pharmacist was very nice but said it would be a week before medication was ready because CVS is having delivery issues. Also they are too busy taking Rite Aid clients. It felt strange because prior Rite Aid had a 24 hr turn around. it's totally unacceptable and unhealthy.

Yelp
Bald dude in mask was a complete ass. Asked a simple question, talked under his breath, couldn't give us an answer and in general was an asshole. Turned around asked a different girl working and was super nice and helpful. Will not be returning to the store if he is working. He should be somewhere where there aren't any people around. Somewhere like the middle of the ocean

Yelp
Excellent staff ... some of the customers are in need of mental rehab. The pharmacists are top of the line people and the cashiers are forever helpful.

Yelp
This review is for the Executives at CVS. Firstly I must compliment you on your wonderful employees! They take their life in their hands when coming to work in your stores in having to contend with the blatant shoplifting in your west village, NYC locations that lack a security guard and or police presence. I have witnessed this unapologetic theft consistently now for years! I am very aware that when people steal your merchandise prices go up in order to cover for this loss and I as a paying customer am paying for this belligerent stealing with no consequences! Here is an idea and a worthy cause for CVS to save your business and make the community safer. Implore the politicians to effect stringent laws with serious consequences to deter these thieves, empower the police to do their jobs in keeping us safe and in turn thrive as a business with a safe shopping experience and paying customers! Thank you in hopes you resolve this festering problem which potentially can threaten the survival of your fine establishment. Your caring and concerned patron.

Yelp
I would say that my experience here was alright. I came here for the Nerd's Clusters in the mixed berry flavor because that kind is far superior in my opinion to the rainbow Nerd's Clusters. I looked at the candy rack below the cash registers, and I only saw the rainbow clusters available so I went to the candy aisle to see if they had any of the mixed berry options. I saw Nerd's Clusters in blue packaging, which is a major indicator that this was the mixed berry flavor but that was a huge misdirect because it was the rainbow flavor in Christmas packaging. I don't know why the Christmas packaging had to closely resemble the color of the mixed berries flavor, but ok. I also had my first "Karencounter" here today. A woman was yelling at the only employee at the front desk because she didn't like the self-check-out option. Even though the employee had offered to help her, she wasn't accepting her assistance. There was just no one there to work the registers. I hope for her sake that the matter was resolved quickly.

Yelp
I came here recently to pick up some snacks and drinks before meeting up a friend for a walk. The store was organize and clean but, the checkout line was a bit disorganized. There was no designated line for just self-checkout or cashier checkout.

Yelp
Consistently the worst actual pharmacy in the neighborhood. The phone is completely ignored. We are in a medicine crisis with a cancer patient (emergency med electronically submitted in and confirmed), but CVS can't be bothered to even answer the phone to let us know if it has arrived (walking over there not an option in this condition). Very very upset and disappointed, let alone they are putting us in danger with these practices.

Yelp
Tony was greeting today & is such a nice & helpful young man. However, the store could be better stocked.

Yelp
Have to agree with the other reviewers - this is the hands down worst pharmacy and cvs I've ever been inside. For all the reasons the other reviewers mentioned. The staff is terrible, it's very unclean, etc.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Garbage pharmacy that doesn't answer the phone at 7:45 - 15 min before close), run and worked by garbage people. Tried getting prescription on a Friday, but they don't answer the phone. I was in hold 1/2 hour with no answer, finally went there, and though there were people at the pharmacy, they refused to help and directed me to the 24 hour CVS... which is on 57th street. Absolutely embarrassing service, avoid if at all possible.

Cristin M.

Yelp
My insurance makes me use this business! Great insurance. Absolutely HORRIBLE having to go here. Please someone... is there any other CVS that doesn't suck as bad as this one? They DO NOT answer the phone. Village Apothecary would NEVER. This place literally is the lowest bull shit ever

Yelp
Real integrity here, they also sometimes give Halloween candy. Very cool guys, love the grind.

Yelp
We went there yesterday evening and we were impressed with the personnel. The manager - David - helped me find an item and he was quite friendly, including when I went to pay for my purchase and he was at the cashier's. The (female) security guard was also very friendly. The store is a decent size and it seemed to be well-stocked.

Alexis S.

Yelp
Filthy. Filthy air (I can only guess from the air vents), filthy floor, understocked shelves, miserably gross sidewalk (yes, that is part of having a street level storefront in NYC - keeping your sidewalk and gutter clean)...one really needs a shower after visiting.

Yelp
This CVS is a bit narrow, especially near the entrance, so there's always a crowd waiting to check out. In the mean time, you need to dodge these done customers in order to find what you need. I often find specific items on my list - namely cheaper CVS-brand items - sold out, so that's a bummer. I'm generally a big CVS fan, but this one makes me sad.

Yelp
Do not like how self check is being forced on customers. CVS is cost cutting and causing long wait times in line. There are five registers and only one person working it. He announces that self check out is available every few minutes. How about you hire more employees and put them on the register?

Kaitlyn F.

Yelp
This is specifically for the location on Christopher street in the West Village: The pharmacists at this location have a serious attitude problem, there is no reason to be so rude to customers when they are asking for assistance with refills. Additionally, there are so many items under lock and key in this location that you can't actually get anything you need without the assistance of a store associate... good luck finding one that actually has keys. You'll be there forever, during an errand that should have taken 10 minutes tops.

Alexa G.

Yelp
Wish I could leave zero stars. Pharmacy staff is totally disorganized. Always have been and always will be. Highly recommend switching to New York Chemists at 77 Christopher St. Not far away at all!

Alezandra D.

Yelp
One of the worst companies to work for and store to go into they pay dogshit and treat u like dogshit run away don't ever accept a job here ever ever plus I was getting allergies to mold inside the store. They always have different dogs in here which is great unless u used to work here my friend had a red face and bumpy rash at the end of the day I think it was because the store is so dirty

Yelp
This is hands down my most hated store front in NYC. I would do just about anything to put it out of business. To start off, the layout is absolutely awful. If there are more than four people in line at the counter to check out (which is most of the time since it's so poorly run) at one time - people are always in the second aisle and taking up space where people could be shopping. It's completely dirty - there's nothing that could get me to buy any food from there cause you can feel the dust on it and who knows how long it's been on the shelves. Worst for last, I hate the people. The staff. The pharmacists. Everyone. They're all completely incompetent. Rude. Unfriendly. Unhelpful. I've dealt with at least ten different people here and none of them have made my experience any better. I once went in to print pictures - ha, that's a joke. They had absolutely no idea how the machine worked - oh and did I mention it was the MANAGER helping me? The pharmacists can't ever understand my name. I've been going to this CVS for almost a year (simply because there's not many other pharmacies in the 'hood), and I've had about 3 different pharmacists tell me that I'm not in the system because 'Harper' is way too challenging for them to comprehend. They screw things up all the time and cause so much frustration. I'm glad I can defend myself and yell at them - I feel for the older/sicker people that can't do that. On top of all this - when I called to check the status of a prescription, the pharmacist said "oh is this XXX XXXX?" ARE YOU INSANE? You don't name another patient on the phone - let ME tell YOU who I am. Unreal. I just can't handle this place - I hate it so much.

Yelp
I was in here Sunday after losing my clip-on shades somewhere that morning. I looked upstairs and downstairs before I found them. The first person I asked wasn't sure which floor they would be on. I went upstairs to pay. Thankfully there was not much of a wait.

Yelp
Zero customer attention. Very limited stock. Checkout it with kiosks mostly. Good for the very basics only...
google avatar

Marna H.

Yelp
one of the smaller CVS stores and it has a very limited selection. But the pharmacist always is helpful and they deliver so I can't complain about that. I only go in for the basics. If I need more selection I go to the one on 6th Avenue

Yelp
Guess I just got lucky before. Operations at this Pharmacy have always been dicey but other than telling me they didn't have my script when they did I never had any major issues. This time, I got 3 texts telling me to pick up my script. When I got there the counter girl asked me snidely if I had insurance. I said yes I pick up all the time. I was confused and then remembered my work is in the process of swapping companies. I stated this and she demanded my new card. I said I didn't have it on me because I was told to pick up my pills and no one called about my insurance. I don't usually need my wallet to pick up birth control. She proceeded to tell me that they are too busy to call their customers for things like that (my time and convenience?) but that the pharmacist was "so on top of things" she had been sure to write: "ins?" on my pick up. She was not apologetic that they don't have their office organized enough to prevent causing their customers completely wasting their time and frankly her whole attitude was condescending and rude. Last time here. Calling my doctor to switch pharmacies right now. I'd advise the same.

Yelp
The pharmacy staff here is great! Will and Dexter were incredible when I had a bit of a difficult situation with a mail-in prescription gone wrong. They spent hours helping me and even stayed after the pharmacy closing time to make sure everything got resolved! These guys are amazing and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, personal pharmacy to handle your prescriptions!

elizabeth a.

Yelp
This place has gone really downhill. It took 30 minutes to drop off a prescription. The whole time they were with one girl typing things in the computer and answering the phone while the other pharmacist was on the phone chatting with up to 5 people waiting. Then when I came back to pick up 2 hours later (not the 30 minutes they told me) it still wasn't ready and when I told the pharmacist she said it wasn't her fault because she just came on.

Yelp
I bought a hair clipper here, sold as new at full price, and when I got home I discovered that it had been used and the blades were dark with hair. Disgusting, deceitful, and disreputable.

David W.

Yelp
I hate this CVS. The self check out in the front is a joke. When it works, some of the items are not in the system. When I need help no one is around and if they are they are on their cell phone. In a nut shell the customer service is non-existent and sucks. I go out of my way to buy my daily supplies and end up spending more, but at least I get the service a customer deserves.
google avatar

Deanne R.

Yelp
This location is disgusting. The carpet is super stained and it reaks of mold or something. They need to remodel!
google avatar

Christian R.

Yelp
Honestly what can you expect? It's in one of the sketchiest locations in the West Village. It's unkempt, dirty and has very little in stock. Not to mention, customer service is subpar. There are other options.

Mindy L.

Yelp
Hands-down the most consistently helpful, friendly. and accommodating staff, from the greeters, clerks, assistants, and pharmacists... I live a few blocks away, and I've been here very very early, super late at night, in a rainstorm, with a dog, during rush hours, with a crying child, when they're jammed with tourists or drunken loud bar kids... No matter what hour or how busy, the staff here are ALWAYS super-helpful and always smiling. The store is pretty small and doesn't have as big a selection of larger CVS stores, but I always come here over the other nearby alternatives.

Philio H.

Yelp
I am not a happy customer. On 6/18/2017, I went to the CVS store and Pharmacy to buy a ready made sandwich, and when I started to browse the ready to eat refrigerated section. I quickly saw that some of the food, and in particular sandwiches and fresh fruit that was for sale was expired. I asked to speak to the store manager and when I told him that the food was expired he was not fazed in the least of the situation. I told him that he needed to be careful of the food and be vigilant of the supply because a person could get sick quickly because the food was expired. I then tried to purchase some food and the cashier could not ring up the food properly and after 5 mins, I finally gave up the fight to purchase anything at this CVS. Note that it is important to be vigilant of the dates on the ready to eat section of CVS so as to prevent sickness and food contamination

C B.

Yelp
This CVS has the worst service I've ever experienced at a pharmacy. The cashiers at the pharmacy here are consistently horribly slow. It actually doesn't even matter which cashier you get because they are all incapable of moving at a reasonable pace. They make picking up prescriptions a nightmare and huge time commitment. Do not fill your prescriptions here.
