Yelp
This is a 1 star rating mainly because of 1 staff member - wish I had names, but (not) surprisingly, names were not given when we finally sat down at the bar. It will probably become clear as to why as you continue reading.
Let me first begin with what we enjoyed here... 1 of the 3 bartenders on Saturday 1-25-20, was great. She was friendly, upbeat, and actually paid attention to the customers seated at the bar! The second, well, I'll get back to her in a bit. The third, not quite as friendly and outgoing as the first, but was still semi pleasant - except when we asked for another round since she was standing right in front of us. The response was they'll get it for you. Maybe she was distracted by the stalker type guy that was standing at the bar opening?? Not sure..
The food, while we only ordered a couple of apps, was decent. Pretty typical bar type food... but it took FOREVER to come out! Pretzel sticks and tater tots?? Literally took over 30 minutes... we were at that point waiting for a lane, so not THAT big of a deal.
The big deal comes in with bartender #2! She was literally one of the most miserable service people I have met, In. My. Life!! I'm in the industry, I get it, you can't be in a good mood all the time, but c'mon!! For someone who makes their $$ (some literally their only income) you would think that there would be a little more smiling and at least an attempt at trying to FAKE being in a good mood??!! Nope, not #2. Every time we asked for something - to place an order? For some marinara? for some napkins? for another round? It was like we were putting her out, instead of simply asking her to provide the service we were paying for. Maybe it was the stalker guy at the opening of the bar that she was more determined to pay more attention to? Not really sure...
Since #2 was so inattentive and apparently had a stick up her a**, my BF went ahead and asked bartender #1 if we could tip her on the side since she had been extremely kind and was pleasantly doing her work and job. It was an intentionally loud conversation so that MAYBE #3 might kick it up a notch and throw a smile out, maybe be a little less miserable after it was being pointed out that she didn't seem very happy to be there. Nope!
We shortly thereafter paid our bar tab, and still left a 22% tip, yes, still got 22% to share - as I mentioned, I'm in the business - I GET IT!!! and continued on to our bowling lane... approximately 1/2 way into our first game, we ordered two more beers (Bud Light's). It is only then that we realized how truly miserable #2 is!! She shut us off after hearing that we didn't want her to receive the tip we left... Telling her manager we had already had 12 beers a piece!!! Are you f-ing kidding me you miserable f***??? If I had 12 beers I would have been rolling around on the bathroom floor, praying to the porcelain God, not bowling!!!! Even after asking to see a manager, wasting our already paid for bowling time speaking to him about his miserable employee, still, no beer. At this point "bartender discretion" comes into play, and there was "nothing he could do". Give me a break!!! We left with 18 minutes left on our prepaid bowling time (he "gifted" us with 5 extra minutes after it was pointed out during our conversation that we were wasting time having this conversation because of his shitty employee). Keep your charity 5 minutes!!!
Maybe the CW management team can have a meeting with their employees to stress the importance that they are in the CUSTOMER SERVICE business!!! That being pleasant with the customers is literally their job description!!!! And instead of making dates with stalkers standing at the bar, they should be paying attention to their customers!!
Next time we want to bowl, we'll go anywhere but CW!!!
