We are staying in an Air BnB in Fairy Hill and was so pleased we came across Cynthia's place so now we can have breakfast there every day! 😁
Cynthia was very welcoming and cooked us a good old fashioned Jamaican breakfast like my dear, departed mum used to make on Sunday mornings.
Cynthia didn't have any ackee, but cooked saltfish and callaloo. There was fried dumplings, breadfruit, sweet potatoes and plantain. She said she's going to get some fresh ackee tomorrow so we vowed to return.
The price of around £20 for two of us is cheaper than the £40 we spent for breakfast at a restaurant near Mo' Bay airport yesterday. But overall, Jamaica is expensive ( we ate for about half the price in Bali last September where the climate and vibe is very similar).
It was nice to stroll around the quiet beach, where there were very few tourists like us, while we waited for Cynthia to cook everything fresh and hot, but it was worth the wait.
Shout out for it server, Alisha.
If you visit, also donate to the fund to look after the beach - I do wish they would clear up the litter more though.
UPDATE: Cynthia was so keen to get us fresh ackee so we exchanged phone numbers and she contacted by WhatsApp to say she managed to get some and she'll cook for Sunday breakfast! Yet again, the food was delicious.
