"Pistachio lattes, lamb-topped hummus with artichoke and green chickpeas, charred carrots with pine nut tapenade and labneh, and grilled halloumi with chile — Cypress is the place to find flavors from Southwestern Asia and Northern Africa in the Mid-Valley. Found inside the Atticus Hotel, the restaurant is dripping with plants and freshly made-over with light, bright decor. Jory and Sokol Blosser alums Henry Kibit and Travis Bird’s mix-and-match menu is hugely approachable with easy-to-like options for lunch, dinner, and snacking. Cypress is also open for breakfast, and the menu includes Egyptian dishes like green garbanzo ful and standard hotel brunch fare with Middle Eastern touches like pancakes with pomegranate syrup." - Emily Teel, Rebecca Roland

Google
Loved everything about this place! The staff was so friendly, the restaurant had a warm, cozy vibe, and the food was just phenomenal. I had the chicken gyro pita wrap (no feta), and it was the best gyro I’ve had by far. My husband tried the Mediterranean burger, giving it a solid 8/10, especially with the ketchup. Great portions, amazing flavors—can’t wait to come back!

Google
Stopped on our way to the beach. What a burst of flavor! We are pleasantly delighted with how great the food is. Our kids had no problem trying something new and there was no food left when we were done. 100% coming back next time. The staff were wonderful.

Jenn Rebollo

Google
Very good Mediterranean food!! We had the short rib, shrimp tangine, fried halloumi, and greek donuts for dessert. Everything was excellent!! Fast service at the bar with Ryan bartending. Great walnut old-fashioned, and very pretty restaurant. Great experience all around!

Taylor Nichol

Google
There aren’t many places who do service and food THIS GOOD!! Service was amazing, attentive and everything we needed all in one. Then the food came and HOLY COW. Everything we ordered was amazing!!! Perfectly cooked, seasoned. On here for vacation and will be returning while we are here.

Rob McAllister

Google
Very nice hotel and The Cypress appears to be a cool bar as well. However what struck me in The Cypress was that no one who worked there smiled...at all. Particularly the young lady making the cocktails, just not interested in being friendly. Not a good trait in that business...cool spot though!

Google
Wonderful restaurant! Staff is courteous and attentive. Food is absolutely delicious, earthy, and authentic. Honestly the best Mediterranean food I've had so far in Oregon. You can taste the ingredients and attention that goes into every recipe. The food tastes alive. Have been here several times before and they highly consistent in delivering truly delicious Mediterranean dishes.

Google
Delicious dinner, wonderful staff and lovely atmosphere. The food was excellent- hummus appetizer, Greek salad, short ribs, lamb kebabs, roasted carrots in the most tasty sauce! Definitely a must in McMinnville.

Google
My husband and I drive from Salem to eat here in the late morning. Breakfast menu is simple but delicious, the lunch menu is fire & the atmosphere and vibe is very relaxing. Something about those eggs that make it just so velvety 🤘 lastly, the chef showed us how he makes the warm fresh pita and made one for our daughter. She loved it

Yelp
Excellent service, beautiful ambiance and delicious food! I love the colors, decor and all the greenery with the hanging plants throughout the restaurant. We dined early on a Sunday evening (holiday weekend) and got seated at the bar which has comfortable chairs. (This is an important detail as you get older and require proper seating to enjoy drinks or a meal, lol). We ordered drinks and the mezze plate with fries to start. And honestly that could have been our meal. But because we had just come from wine tasting we decided to order entrees as well. I got the grilled shrimp with polenta and my husband had the shawarma with a salad & fries. The food was beautiful, fresh and very tasty. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a very good restaurant in a luxury hotel. It's a Mediterranean theme. We had falafel and lamb, a burger, and the Caesar salad. Everything was well done and enjoyable. The secret on the menu is the Turkish coffee. Something you don't find often and it's authentic! Great atmosphere. Spotlessly clean and friendly service.

Ree C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our lunch at Cypress! Our server Michelle was so friendly and attentive. The food was fresh, flavors were spot on and the ambiance left us feeling invigorated! The fried cheese and frozen old-fashioned cocktail were a hit! The manager Michael made us feel so welcome and we will definitely be back! Thank you all!!!!!

Kathleen A.

Yelp
I had the chicken shawarma and it was really tasty. Comes with a huge order of fries. Also available in lamb. Cute place located in a historic boutique hotel. Cool vibe. Service was decent. Food came outvtimelt

Ritu K.

Yelp
Dinner is exceedingly expensive and much tastier versions can be found at food carts for much cheaper. $22 for a shawarma sandwich? Also kind of an odd shawarma, I usually think of wraps as having thinner lavash style bread. This was a pita folded in half like a taco with fillings. The mama's little peppers were odd and didn't add much to the sandwich either. Comes with fries and a small salad. The sandwich needed a lot more flavor. Also had a cocktail, which was kind of meh. I don't know. Thought it would be much tastier based on the glowing reviews.

Yelp
The food was so good we had to come twice in 3 days while on vacation in McMinnville, once for dinner and once for breakfast!! You will not be disappointed if Mediterranean cuisine is your jam. Service, decor, and ambiance were an additional nice touch to both meal experiences! For dinner, we shared the Meze plate, falafel, fries, parsley salad, and rose water sorbet. For breakfast, two of us got the 2 eggs anyway and I got the ful mudammas. We thought the falafel were perfect - a bit smaller than normal and tapered at the ends which we think allowed for a perfect crispy exterior. The meze plate had a good assortment of everything. The olives were very tasty! Fries were definitely too salty for all of us, but we did enjoy the condiments. We all loved breakfast, the eggs and potatoes were good and I loved the flavors in the ful mudammas.

Yelp
We had an incredible meal here! We came in on a quiet Tuesday evening. We made reservations, which is a good idea because it's not a large space. The space itself is gorgeous! I just love the wall paper, fans, and plants, a really lovely vibe. I really loved the Mezze Plate, the beets and the muhammara were the standouts for me. It was the perfect way to start the meal. The charred carrots were absolute perfection. I loved the carrots and swiping our fries through the cheese the carrots were on was the best idea I had that night. We also loved the cauliflower with the bright and zesty sauce. It's fried, but you almost wouldn't know it because it's somehow still light at the same time. The chicken kebab were so moist and juicy. They were beautiful with some warm fluffy pita bread. Every single thing we ate was delicious! My absolute favorite part of the meal was the semolina and orange cake. It was warm, delicate, flavorful, and so well balanced. It's one of those things that you think about for days after you eat it. You definitely shouldn't skip dessert here. Stunning meal and wonderful service. I can't wait to come back!

Marta K.

Yelp
Great place in the beautiful Atticus Hotel! Loved all the options that they had that arnt always available at other places - lamb, duck eggs, and more. Everything was prepared fresh and we loved all our of dishes. We got oatmeal for our baby which was delicious! We also had the duck egg omelet with a side of bacon (the bacon was overdone and we didn't think was worth the price) and the shakshuka with a side of lamb and pita. Do yourself a favor and get a side of their pita bread! So delicious! Another bonus was that they actually had good coffee. You know it will be good when coffee comes out with late art at a brunch spot.

Holly J.

Yelp
Service was top notch even outside on picnic tables! Staff was super cute all dolled up for UFO fest and made sure we had what we needed. Dog friendly space lots of fresh air! Great peach kombucha with baklava!! And a Greek yogurt parfait side by side strawberry and raspberry fresh and well plated !! So good. Topped with granola for texture. Stop in the door and see the walk about snack items with great beverage choices too. Must go back for dinner looks very inviting

Yelp
Service is great, staff are friendly and knowledgeable about Mediterranean food and wine pairings. My wife and I shared the Mezza and the Mediterranean burger (lamb and beef). First, the Mezza was a nice sampling of hummus, muhammara , Lebneh, pickled veggies with pita bread. The muhammara stole the show, but all samples were excellent. The Mediterranean burger was great, as well. The feta cheese on the burger was a nice touch. The burger was seasoned with a hint of nutmeg. Depending on how you like your burger, it's cooked well done, so ask if you want something different. Excellent choice as well. Megan is an awesome mixologist and selected my wine...perfect. My wife enjoyed a martini (Grey Goose). We will definitely return.

Dave G.

Yelp
Solid choice for a healthy dinner. The couscous salad had great flavor with cucumbers and tomatoes. The hummus was super tasty and good sized portion for sharing - get an extra pita bread. They ran out of chicken kabobs but comped me the remaining one. Dessert was a very sumptuous baklava. Service was excellent.

DM C.

Yelp
We stopped here for a quick bite while exploring McMinnville. Very cool looking art deco hotel. Did not disappoint. We sat at bar and had some mimosas. Bartender, service very friendly. We ordered sampler platter and falafel. Came with a generous portion of pita. It was all very delicious!

Mark G.

Yelp
We came by after trying two other restaurants. One was not open on Tuesdays the next had a grease pit fire and were closed for the day. I asked the fellow at the second place for a reco and he gave us Cyprus. It is is the center of McMinnville and we parked right out front. We had been traveling all day from the East Coast and just wanted an early meal before bed. We arrived 545pm with a reservation and were seated promptly. The place was not crowded. It is in the Atticus Hotel and the ambiance is clean and spartan. A bar with 8 seats is in the dining area which has about table 10 tables most of which are by the windows overlooking the sidewalk. It is touted as Mediterranean but to us it seemed more middle eastern. We got the lamb with hummus and a few pitas. Then a couscous and a salad. They were very good and we realized after we ordered Lamb chops as our next course that we were getting full quickly. By this time the place was getting crowded. We took the lamb back to the Inn where we are staying and it was great the next day. This place is worth a stop. Mark & Nancy.

Yelp
Back here several months later and great again. Great service. Outside seating on a great day. Awesome ketchup. The chicken shawarma is huge. Nice drink menu. And a good Arnold Palmer on a hot day.

Michel A.

Yelp
Excellent lunch at this Mediterranean restaurant in downtown McMinnville at the Atticus Hotel. Chose a mezze platter with muhammara, hummus, warm green olives, roasted beets set on labneh, and pita. I also added chicken kabob. Everything was delicious. Chicken was juicy. Loved the muhammara. It is a very nice, comfortable setting. Service was super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
What an amazing jewel! The moment our culinary guide met us at the table, we were taken on a tour of the menu, techniques of preparation, origins and inspiration behind the restaurant. Our level of hunger was low but after her guiding of their gastronomy, we were hard pressed to choose. We asked for suggestions that would inspire a second, third and fourth return to explore the menu. She had us sold with the mezze plate, charred /roasted carrots and two zero-proof beverages. A magnificent playlist, gorgeous tile, beautiful textures of wood and etched glass. Each element of the aesthetics considered and captured to enhance and harmonize with the experience of their elegantly inspired menu. On our way out the door, I opted for a simple shot of espresso. It couldn't have been better. A local coffee roaster, medium/light roast, perfectly extracted. Every detail of their care was on point. This is where inspired travelers will find quintessential delight.

Yelp
Excellent Mediterranean food Great atmosphere Really great Mediterranean food for the Pacific Northwest

Forrest S.

Yelp
Sitting here now taking in the tasteful updates to the physical space. Light tonal blue hues grounded by wood and metal aspects. Floral and light, a great open space. Attentive and friendly service, simplistic menu. Less simplistic wine list, pretty deep and compliments both the area and the menu offerings, but not overbearing in price or selection. Menu is approachable from both the casual and full dinning experience levels. Kudos on that, to allows to come in for a more casual stop. All good- come experience it for yourself.

Maebh H.

Yelp
Food was amazing! So fresh and delicious. Cool setting too. Rhea (?) and Charlotte were great!

Emma S.

Yelp
The service was incredible and the pita was so fresh. The establishment was decorated quite elegantly as well. I got a bowl with falafel, and it was delicious. The falafel and fresh pita were definitely the highlights! My family got fries and salad, and according to them the salad was a bit tangy and the fries were quite salty, but nothing to fuss over.

Roman N.

Yelp
Stopped at Cypress before going to a college visit. Everything about this restaurant was great. The staff was really friendly, the food was delicious, and it had a cool atmosphere. I ordered the chicken shawarma, the mint cucumber lemonade, and the mezze plate. The chicken shawarma was amazing: The pita was fluffy and warm, the chicken was tender, the greens were crunchy, and both the feta and the yogurt sauce were cool and tangy. Combined, they made for a delicious, yet light, lunch. The fries were also great. They were nicely salted, and I'm pretty sure their ketchup was homemade. The mint cucumber lemonade was very refreshing. Neither flavor overpowered the other, and it was sweet while also being tart. The mezze plate was also great: The olives were warm and salty, and all of the dips were tasty, my favorite being the labneh. If you find yourself in McMinnville, I would fully recommend you make a point of trying this restaurant!

Sandra L.

Yelp
Beautiful little restaurant in the Atticus Hotel. As you walk in they have a cozy bar area. We were greeted immediately and sat in the bar which we requested. The drink list was well balanced and affordable. I love gin so I ordered Roses Are Free. It had Lewis and Clark gin, Aperol, rose syrup, grapefruit, lemon, Prosecco and garnished with a rose bud, served up in a coupe Gorgeous drink, delicious and very easy to drink. My husband had a Walnut City Old Fashioned- Random bourbon, muddled orange, Amerena cherry, walnut bitters, raw sugar and a splash of ginger beer. Served in a rocks glass with one big cube. It was a classic delicious old fashioned with a very slight finger kick. We will be back for lunch or dinner soon!

Jake N.

Yelp
Great Greek/Mediterranean orientated restaurant just off of third. I hope they expand their seafood choices as time goes by. They just opened in about May 2023. Service is fantastic and Ambiance is tough due to their 4th street location. The building and restaurant are great but you look at a planning department building.

Michelle B.

Yelp
A+ for food and service, love veggie options! We had chickpea stew and hummus plate. We'll be back soon!

Julie B.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch, and it was delicious. The place is quaint, and the food is fantastic! We had excellent service from the moment we stepped foot in the door. I highly recommend the hummus!

Nicholas Z.

Yelp
Great to excellent food, professional to excellent service on each of my visits so far. I especially liked the flavored rooibos tea, all of the cumin-forward kebab selections (shrimp, kofta, chicken) and the halloumi with perfectly crisped broccolini was narrowly able to upstage the tumeric tinged citrus green salad. This place is great!

Paul L.

Yelp
* My friend and I had a fantastic experience here. * The food was excellent, the pitas are baked fresh in an oven that you can see in the open kitchen, the mezza plate was a fantastic way to taste the 3 "spreads" (hummus and 2 others), the lamb was cooked rare (bravo) and was delicious, and the carrots and green beans were obviously special or "heirloom" varieties and full of flavor. * The service was professional and heartfelt. * The room was open, bright, with low volume music, open kitchen, open bar at one end, great waiting space if you are early for your reservation or awaiting other parties. * Being in a hotel is a huge plus - the restrooms were great, the lobby was interesting, it seems like a building with a lot of history and a story to tell.

Kari M.

Yelp
The food was wonderful! Highly recommend. The only issue was we ordered cocktails and they didn't come so went and asked the bartender and the server thought the bartender had heard the order so didn't put the ticket in.

Steve H.

Yelp
Not sure what the ambiance is meant to be but we finally made in. The menu items make me wonder which end of the Mediterranean inspiration is from. Given this our first time seated, we went with the mezza and kofta; everything but the beets was good. We added a kofta, spiced sparsely but quite tasty. This would be our main Mediterranean go to but for a hugely significant draw back - if one has a decade or more bouncing around the Mediterranean then one would be extremely disappointed in the bread/food ratio. At $3/pita it is a substantial tax on the meal. Yes they are fresh (and really good) but still. Staff was outstanding and totally on top of all covers.

Amy H.

Yelp
The food is super tasty but I just don't understand the amount of chicken in the kabob plate. This has happened twice now.

rosey i.

Yelp
The Mezza Plate is the best!! We stayed at the Atticus for a wedding with family and nearly ate with the Cypress everyday. They have a sit down restaurant in addition to being the room service restaurant for the hotel. Their breakfast pancakes, parfait, bacon & potatoes are a family favorite Pita and Mezza plate with a variety of hummus and other spreads were so delicious! We would eat here every meal if we could but then we would leave the hotel... lol. I recommend the Cypress 10000%

Heide I.

Yelp
Giving Katie a hour out, she was so cheerful and pleasant - she really made our breakfast extra sunny. We love this spot, great for the locals as well as visitors. My husband and I wanted a side salad with our breakfast and she did not hesitate to honor that request. We were appreciative (I know those requests are annoying). So glad you are here.

Scott B.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service, very nice ambience . Will return in the near future. Did not try dessert but wish that we had.

Martin A.

Yelp
After reading all the 4-5 star reviews we ventured there for dinner. As we waited for a wait staff, we noticed bugs on a chair not far from our table. We informed the waitress who removed the bugs and laughed. Our review: food was not to our tastes and the service was terrible. Maybe it's just us, but I don't understand how others enjoyed this experience

S T.

Yelp
We are staying at the Atticus and was disappointed to see that Red Hills Kitchen closed but a new restaurant Cypress took its place. The breakfast was fantastic and would highly recommend! The dinner was overpriced for the portions and we won't be coming back. $5 ice tea refills and the chicken kebabs were the size of a child's portion. We left after "snacking" and went down the street to get a real dinner which was much needed after tasting wine all day.

Bill S.

Yelp
Needed a place to eat in between our visit to the Evergreen Aviation/Space museum and our flight home out of Portland. Found Cypress here on Yelp. Lots of great reviews and great menu choices. We got here about 3:40 PM on a Sunday. They have a limited menu (but more than enough options for all pallets) before the dinner seating (which I think starts at 5:00 PM). They greeted us as we walked in and let us seat ourselves outside since it was such a nice afternoon. The seating out side is on a wide side walk, on a quiet street with the sounds of a horse drawn carriage that passes by every now and then. Our order was taken quickly and our drinks and food came out in short order. We had the Mezze (hummus, labneh, muhammara and pita), warm marinated olives and beef & lamb kofta. Everything was great! Just the right spices, flavors and textures. Make sure to save room for the semolina/orange cake, fantastic. Great service, great spot and great food, what more could anyone want?

Yeon C.

Yelp
Just an amazing experience! Presentation was so stylish and chic! Food tasted like the best Mediterranean I ever had and service was spot on! I will drive hours just to eat here, it's that good! We had mezze, falafel, roasted beet and chicken Kebob, everything was so so delicious!

Bradford G.

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times over the past few months for lunch. I never leave feeling satisfied with the amount of food, the menu choices or breadth of flavors. However my most recent visit will be my last because of something seemingly minor. I ordered the breakfast potatoes and asked for ketchup. At the end of my meal I found I'd be charged $1 for ketchup. I wasn't told it would cost a dollar nor was it on the menu as costing a dollar.

Lee G.

Yelp
Awful. We were there on 10/24/23. Chicken kebab crunchy. Lamb was very fatty. The couscous was the best part of the dinner, thus, the reason for the 1 star. Nothing comes with the entrees. No rice (which usually comes with middle eastern type restaurants), or vegetable, nothing. Service was terrible. We were told it was family type service. It's not. We ended up clearing the dishes on our table ourselves. Our waitress was drying glasses while we bussed our own table. Both the bartender and waitress walked by the dirty dishes on the adjacent table many times. There were very few people in the restaurant so that was not the excuse. Pita, which was extra, was forgotten, until we reminded the waitress. It came after we finished our dinner. My wife's 2nd drink came a long time after it was ordered, only after I had to get up to see what was going on. Mine was just getting started. I gave up and canceled it. We were offered a free dessert, but I just wanted to get out of there. (They ultimately brought a dessert, but the evening was ruined by then.) Is being a good waiter/waitress that hard? Do chefs taste their own food? I highly doubt they would say the food here is worth the money. The restaurants in McMinnville are generally exceptional. During our stay here, the food has been great and the service has been super attentive. Pinch, Capo, La Rambla and Humble Spirit were far superior in all aspects of food and service. Don't waste your time and money going here.

Tonya S.

Yelp
My husband is busy writing a lengthy 5 star review but I wanted to put in my 2 cents. Just do it. Fabulous food with fabulous service.

Leon R.

Yelp
We went there to celebrate my sons birthday. Four of us. The food was good. Not memorable. The menu is limited , portions are small and the prices are high, which I expected the prices were going to be high. The draft beer was warm. The customer service was good.

Ira A.

Yelp
We had made an outdoor specific reservation months in advance. Two hours prior to the time, the restaurant called us and said there was a large party that wanted to be outside and they wanted to move us indoors. They refused to allow us to keep the outdoor reservation, which we'd made due to covid vulnerabilities. That is a fail of customer service. We will never eat at Cypress again. 0 stars

Carl L.

Yelp
Just wonderful. My wife is vegan; I'm an omnivore; Mediterranean is one of the few cuisines that can have us both feel full, satisfied, and happy. So, we eat a lot of Mediterranean. And we loved our experience. Cocktails and wine list were first-rate. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We sat outside, at a picnic table, with our two pooches -- perfect. The hummus was creamy and full of flavor. The falafel was fluffy and light -- exactly the way my wife loves it. The parsley salad was lemony, fresh, and full of local ingredients. The lamb and beef kofta was incredible. We felt lucky to get a table, and we'll be back.

Paula B.

Yelp
Amazing food and service at Cypress. I wasn't a fan of the first cocktail but our waitress we had replaced it with my second option and it was amazing! It has been awhile since I have had that kind of customer service. The food was phenomenal. We expected smaller portions for a hotel restaurant especially in a touristy town but the portions are very generous, really delicious, and interesting. We will definitely be making this a regular stop when we come to McMinnville!

Wayne T.

Yelp
A lunch visit. A clean, fresh look welcomed me as I walked into the restaurant. I felt at home. Service was exceptional, the food was flavorful, and I will be back. The menu is a variety of items of Mediterranean fare. I had the shaksuka - just delicious! The potatoes were crispy and tasty. Yes, this place doesn't disappoint and I'll be back to try the dinner menu soon.

Wendy L.

Yelp
Our first time to experience Cypress in Mac. Food very tasty, service spot on. Loved our little corner table. A few cons. So skimpy on sauces for our entrees we had to get more. Charged for their "tightness" with tahini sauce and whatever came with the chicken kabobs. And then because we didn't order the listed cocktails. Manhattan (they were out of cherries so just bourbon and a hint of vermouth) $18.00. Ah, no, not okay. May come back and order certain things. Had you just given a reasonable amount of sauce and not charged crazy money for a drink that was missing an important ingredient it would've been a five star. Thank you for a nice evening.

michael s.

Yelp
Good food. Would not allow my wife's diabetic alert service dog, so we only ate there once and the food was good. A bit overpriced for dinner. Keep in mind this is about the service dog and not the food or service.

Stuart N.

Yelp
Amazing! This place has it all! From the ambiance to the locally sourced food and incredible staff to beautifully plated food! McMinnville has a new gem!

Tom H.

Yelp
Great service, great food, and chic ambience! Authentic Mediterranean dishes and custom cocktails ...yum!
