If you live, work or are visiting near Edison, you absolutely have to go visit Chris at Cypress Brewing Company. Amazing beer, especially IPAs and sours. Their stouts aren’t too shabby either. Friendly, helpful and talented. Plus, you can’t beat a brewery with a dog and 3 cats!

Google
The ingredients and quality of the beer Charlie makes is second to none. The flavors are natural, interesting and daring. It doesn't matter if you like a stout or an IPA, they're all amazing.

Google
Awesome Craft Brew with seasonal flavor creations. Friendly atmosphere with indoor or outdoor seating. This is also a "Green" (Environmentally friendly) facility. It's worth the trip.

This place is amazing! Had our holiday work party here tonight. The helpful and welcoming atmosphere was so appreciated! I can’t wait to come back next year for our holiday work party, we had a blast! Charles the owner made everything so easy and really goes out of his way for people. He makes such a good selection of beer and love that there’s seltzer too! Would recommend this place to anyone! Such cozy and good place to be!

Google
I’m going to all of the breweries in NJ and this was number #32 and I have to say, this ranks extremely high- this is in my top10. I enjoyed every single beer I had- even their dark beers and I’m not a dark beer girl. Charlie the brew master and owner went over the top to make my experience so enjoyable. He gave us a tour of the brewery and talked with us the entire time- a plus is he has a great taste in music! He does a lot for the community which is admirable. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Google
After visiting over 110 small craft breweries in New Jersey, this brewery was the tale of two cities...on one hand, the beers were VERY, VERY good!! Lots of flavor, fresh, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the bartender was not a welcoming man whatsoever...he spent just about the whole time with his nose in his cell phone or watching the football game on TV. Also, I am a huge pet lover and loved the cats that roam the brewery...but if you are planning on having a bite to eat there, I am not too sure that allowing the cats to walk and sit on the tables and bar is a good thing. Other than truly loving the beers, this was the first time in all of my visits to other breweries that my wife and I couldn't get out of this brewery fast enough...sad.

Google

Yelp
Never had this kind of experience. Our friends told us about this place so decided to go together. It's a nice small closed off place which outdoor and indoor seating. They brew their stuff there and they encase the drinks there with a little machine. We ordered 2 sets of flights so the four of us can try all the flavors. Some weren't to out taste and a couple were so it's nice we can have this experience. We ended up taking a bug can home to enjoy later.

Yelp
Killer brewery! Their brewer- Charlie is super personable. He knows a ton about beer and loves to talk about it. The tap room here is pretty small, but I think it works to their advantage. It's got a warm and friendly vibe. Their flights are very reasonably priced and they have some pretty crazy beers that go down quite well. They also offer mixed variety 4 packs - which is a huge plus for someone like me who like to try as many new brews as possible when attending a new brewery.
google avatar

Yelp
Staff was super friendly and wearing masks the entire time. There is both outdoor and indoor seating with tables spaced properly apart, not to mention hand sanitizer on each table. You can get a flight of 4 for $8 which I think is a really good deal. My favorite that I tried was the sour Elemenator. This place really is off the beaten path and worth a stop by.

Yelp
Hidden treasure! It's so close to our town. We were definitely in the beer tasting mood. Plenty of parking which is a plus. Outdoor sitting area and friendly people. Beers were delicious. We ordered to flights and rated them on the app. Had a great time!! We would come back for a tour.

Yelp
I think I like the concepts more than the beer recipes itself. Sometimes that happens. Not that the beer we had with Cypress Brewing was bad but Steve and I were more in love with the name of the Imperial Runway Models IPA that we had and the can art than the IPA itself. This beer was described to have grapefruit and pineapple features to it but it was difficult for us to detect that. In the end we felt like that this beer experience just wasn't all that memorable for us. But what is memorable as I mentioned before was the concept and the art. The Imperial Runway Model can had three runway models posing with stormtrooper helmets on. Of course I love Star Wars so that was an added perk. The art also reminded me of the girls in the movie Springbreakers as well. Luckily the brewery sold a shirt with this very design on it so without a single bit of hesitation Steve and I purchased a shirt each!

Yelp
Had a great time here! Small location, but nothing wrong with that. The beer was delicious and filling, and the staff were very kind and talkative with you. You felt like you knew them for a while! Looking forward to heading back again. @rissyjayeats

Yelp
Location is kinda far away from everything else but a nice place to grab a beer. Came here and was greeted well. Was carded and me and 3 other friends got 2 flights to try all the flavors. $8 for a flight. Great value. My thoughts: 1. Great ale 2- felt like a lime white claw 3- not that great 4. Lemonade 5. Tasted peachy but wouldn't have gotten. 6. Amber ale was good. 7. Tiramisu was like a stout and was pretty good 8. Vanilla promenade was very poignant

Yelp
Stopped in for my second time ever; one pre covid, now during covid. Hope to stop in when we are finally past this all. Stopped in with my roommate to grab a flight on a quick pit stop to enjoy dinner. Still sporting the small bar area it was a quiet afternoon with a pair of ladies chatting with the bartender while we chatted at a high top. My friend tried the stouts and found most of them good. I had a more of an IPA and sour flight with one of the sours being impressive though I can't recall it now. They did make an outdoor area that I can imagine gets busier on the weekend. At the time I was there the sun was shining on it and they tried their best to provide shade with the trees on the property and trailer but there was still the summer heat blaring down. We decided to enjoy the AC indoors. All in all if you are in the Edison area, this brewery is a hidden feature away from the busy turnpike to enjoy a beer.

Yelp
A real friendly two-year old brewery in the heart of Industrial Park in Edison. I found the bar area with 5-6 tables to be rather small compared to other breweries I have frequented. But the intimacy of it precluded my negative vibes. Danielle, my beer server, recommended a flight for $6.00. I perused the list of 8 on the wall and chose a few porters/stouts and an IPA. The beers were very robust and flavorful.

Yelp
Good place for craft beers and ambiance! The service is always great! Tap room is always clean and sanitary.

Yelp
I am not claiming to be a beer connoisseur but I've been to more than a handful of breweries and this one so far is my favorite! First I will say staff is always fun and welcoming. I love how they engage the patrons in conversations and next thing everyone starts chiming in, that and good beer makes everyone friendlier. About the beer. So far I've not tasted any beer that I didn't like. From their stouts or porters with strong complex flavor combinations and spices to their IPA's that are crisp and refreshing sometimes juicy or citrusy, I could drink them year round. Never ever watered down these drinks are packed with flavor. The price here is also a factor. $6 for a flight regardless of what beers you choose or ABV. Most breweries I've been to either charge more per flight or they charge the flight based on which beers you choose. I hope the owner never changes this because this is usually my selling point to convince people to visit this place! Lastly big thanks to the guy sitting at the table behind me who ordered way too much pizza and shared it with the entire brewery! That was great pizza wherever it was from and an awesome gesture!

Yelp
Cypress has definitely become one of my favorite breweries in the area. Their flights are only $6 and the always got some really good tasting beers for every occasion. I also like the fact that you can bring your own food, the bartenders are very friendly and provide great service. I would strongly recommend that you give Cypress a try if you love great beers. You can also sign up for their mailing list so you will be notified when they have new releases and fun activities likes food trucks etc. I promise you that you won't regret visiting them because they make great beers all year round!

Yelp
On a hunt to find all the best breweries in the Central Jersey area, we found ourselves at Cypress twice in one week, and it is a delight. When you arrive, the bartender will take you in the back to show you the brewery area because of a NJ law that requires patrons to get a tour of the premises. They have rapidly expanded in the short time they've been in business and the manager who toured us around gave us an efficient speech that made us even more excited to try their brews. The taproom area is small with a few hightop tables and bar seats along the bar as well as the opposite wall. It's a hole in the wall kind of place but that's just fine for a quality brewery. They typically have 8 brews on tap and some can be taken away in growlers and cans. They do a flight of 4, which is great, giving you the easy option of trying everything without hassle. We're sour beer drinkers and enjoy ipas with fruit, and Cypress does an excellent job with this. The Maniacal Laugh and the Elemonator were two of my favorites, part of their comic book series. They have a nice range of beers for all types of drinkers. Definitely a great place to visit if you're looking to try some local New Jersey beer, it can be hard to find but it's worth it!

Yelp
Had a blast on a slower night with Charlie, who made us feel very welcome as we shared dog stories and TV recommendations while drinking a diverse selection of interesting and well-crafted beers, many of which had a little twist to them that you aren't likely to find elsewhere. One of the more relaxing brewery experiences I've had in a while.

Yelp
How did I not know of this place sooner? I have come to know the industrial park-esque exterior as part of NJ brewery charm so if you're driving down what looks like a wrong turn that only means that you're getting closer. Meanwhile, the tasting room is bright and a clean and is a nice place just to hang out in the late afternoon, maybe for a post work Friday beer. Two flights to sample all of the beers is a must. I look forward to visiting again soon and I'll make sure that I remember my growler next time!
google avatar

Kylie B.

Yelp
The beers are really good and they have a great assortment. When we went the guy in the tasting room was REALLY nice but he did not know anything about the beers. The main area is closed for seating but they had high tops setup in their warehouse- not the greatest setup but who cares if the beer is good.

Yelp
Came here after a day at the beach, and hitting up some of the breweries over in Ocean/Asbury Park area. This place did not stand up to the hype at all. We got 2 flights, which was supposed to be all their beers, but one was tapped out. Normally a brewery would offer a second pour of another beer, but they gave me one less beer and still charged me full price (not a good start). Getting to the beers, there wasn't a single beer that I could honestly say I enjoyed and in fact we split it between three of us, and we could not finish a single beer. All the fruited beer tasted artificial, and the rest just odd. Will come back to give it another chance, hopefully the service and beer are a lot better.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
Such a great local brewery! They have a nice amount of options to choose from and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. They have a few outdoor tables to sit at, which was nice considering we went on a nice day. They also switch up menu offerings every so often so you're sure to find a new draft to taste when you return.

Yelp
I don't know when was the last time I left a 5 star rating, but this place definitely deserves it. From cool little comfy environment, to awesome patrons, all the way to 110% top quality beers. The brews range from mild flavors to stupendous flavors; their ADIOS MOOCHACHOS, JERSEY WINTER and TIRAMISU are just to die for. They got you covered with a selection that varies from 4% ABV all the way to 9% ABV. But wait! There's more!!! The staff, it's all about the staff --- from the people behind the scenes, to the bartenders, these are fine folks, and easy to talk to. Love this place, can't get enough of their beers... I'M GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWLS as I write this hahahahaha!!!

Yelp
We stopped in on the way home. If in the area we scope out the beer joints. Cypress takes a little extra to find but worth the effort. It has a tiny serving area with a small bar and a couple of tables. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and the noise nearly knocked us over. There was an unusually loud and apparently inebriated table making a racket. Not a reflection on the brewery but just made it difficult to order. Danielle, a manager was also serving, was most cordial and helpful. We ended up sitting outdoors to escape the din. She came out once to check on us and offer some incite on the beers. One ipa had zero bittering hops; just after boil dry hopping. Interesting. They had about 8 taps going. I had the 17 mile dipa which was very good. Worth a return.

Yelp
The owner of cypress brewing came up behind me and began talking to and petting my service dog who was calm under the table. He reached behind me under the picnic table I was sitting at and began petting my working service dog. I, first, calmly asked him to step away from my service dog because it's the middle of a pandemic and he was unmasked. Then, he didn't move and I told him to "Back the f-- out of my space." He responded by telling me dogs aren't allowed and instead of asking the ADA two questions (is that a service dog needed for a disability and what tasks is it trained in to mitigate your disability) asked if my dog was marked. Then, he started screaming at me and under customers about how he has so many pets and his own service dog, because ya know, harass and scare your disabled customers and then pretend to be one. He told me to leave and threatened to call the police. He also was not wearing a mask, was drinking with customers, and left in the company van after drinking, saying he only had half a beer, but truly he's either a terrible person or was drunk. Probably both. I will not be spending any money here ever again and if you support disabled people, you shouldn't either.

Yelp
Bottom line: hidden gem... literally its tucked away but DAMN that beer is good. Perfect for big dark beer lovers like myself. Heaven. Gluten line: nothing :( wifey had to just watch. I felt guilty. Long line: thank god for GPS cause I wouldn't have found this with only old school verbal directions. The space is VERY small, so maybe don't come with a squad of 10+. There's really only seating for about 14ish people. The beer however is absolutely outstanding. Their naughty and nice we're crazy good. I'm picky about when I take growlers home but better believe I took naughty home. See what I did there? Definitely recommend it to everyone who will listen.

Yelp
Great local brewery. Friendly bartenders that will give you a nice tour of the joint. They always rotate their beers and offer a flight of their selection. We love hitting this place up.

Yelp
Amazing beer and amazing people BEER Their beers really grew on me as I kept drinking them: Insane in the grain - classic DIPA with fruity vibe, very drinkable Lighthouse Coconut Brown - Really light coconut brown ale, again drinkable because they mellow out the flavors VIP (Vanilla Imperial Porter) - great porter Northern English Nut Brown - another brown ale with some nutty notes, bit stronger in flavor profile Back 2 B.A.C.K.M.A.N - a special aged stout that the brewmaster made in honor of his later father. I'm not a fan of stouts but it was pretty good AMAZING PPL Owner came out, gave us a tour, and even opened the back 2 backman for us. Amazing and friendly guy! Cypress Brewery, check em out

Yelp

Yelp
Awesome brewery tucked into an industrial park. The staff and beer are equally great.

Yelp
Absolutely rude and potentially dangerous as owner refused to wear a mask as he approached us and yelled at us. "The owner of cypress brewing came up behind me and began talking to and petting my service dog who was calm under the table. Yelp
We were bored at our hotel so swung by at 8 on a Sunday. The BEST!!! Dani the Manager/Bartendress is the sweetest thing ever, ultra friendly and engaging. And, bonus, the beer is really pretty tasty. My favorite was their West Coast IPA (17 Mile) and Beau loved the [passionfruit] pale (Shore House). But truthfully, Dani made the visit. Don't be afraid of the dark driving down into the industrial park -- this place is totally worth the stop!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cool little place. There's minimal seating. The bartender was pretty friendly, as were the people who were in and out. There were 8 beers on tap so my boyfriend and I each got a flight of 4 so we could try them all. The beers are very unique. Many of them were very sweet, definitely not like your typical craft beers. If you're a fan of sour or fruity beers this is the place for you.
google avatar

Brendan B.

Yelp
Totally one of our favorite NJ breweries. The beer guys here know their stuff. We've been here many times and i get the sense that when something doesn't work you won't see it again.. The beerrteners are always so nice (thanks Danielle) and the every day beers are very good and the special brews are almost always worth a try. Kind of off the beaten path but we love bringing a snack and enjoying a flight or two.
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
This is 2 reviews in 1. First the tasting room itself. It's cozy and inviting. Very clean! The staff is always accommodating. I've only ever been here during the week and it's never been crowded but there's always people there. Second the beer, I love the beer at Cypress. I am an IPA fan but I love trying all styles of beer. I like that when I go to Cypress I can get my hazy IPA but also try something different that I know I will like.
google avatar

Yelp
We were from out of state for a wedding and wanted to check out the local crafts. Cypress was our favorite. We got a flight of everything (8 total for 12 dollars) and we enjoyed each one. The Coconut Brown was so good we bought a growler to go. The prices for growlers and fill ups are probably the most reasonable we've come across. (I believe it was 12 bucks for the 64 ounces to go.) I'd say in a world where most breweries and most beers are starting to blend together in my mind, this one stood out. It really did seem each of their selections had something unique to set it apart. Not the biggest place by any means but it was very clean and comfortable. They had games/cards. There's a nice sized restroom. There were 2 TVs to boot. Besides the beer, the staff was actually the best part. We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Kelsey (sorry if we spelled that wrong!) from behind the bar. She was knowledgeable about the selections and was incredibly pleasant to converse with. We got a great local food recommendation from her to enjoy after the brewery. They are apparently only in their 3rd year so their beer is basically only available at the brewery or local marts, so don't pass up an opportunity to stop by and visit! We look forward to one day seeing it in our part of the country.

Yelp
One word: Unreal This is a gem of a local brewery. I was able to visit in a weekday between ending an old job and starting a new job. Mallory was bartending and was very welcoming and helpful. I was also able to meet Ethan, one of the apprentice brewers who was super knowledgeable and you can tell he loves brewing, along with owners Charlie, Bill and Jay. I felt so welcomed when invited to tour the back room. Since I loved all the beer offerings, even styles I wouldn't normally order, I was very happy to hear that they are expanding their brewing capacity. I look forward to many trips to the brewery to fill my growlers, try special brews and hang with the team!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is kinda tucked away, but there was plenty of parking. When you walk in it was just 1 bar-type room, but the bartender took us in back to see where the magic happens. Entire "tour" was maybe 3 minutes, but open ended for questions. 8 beers on tap, and 4 beer flights. By the end I had a little buzz going- some of the beers were very strong. They had a few coconut beers, that really tasted like coconut. There were quite a few stout and porters, but that may just be a seasonal decision at the moment because it's winter. Personally, I loved it. Overall yea, I was impressed. Not all beers were available for growlers, which was a bummer, but i liked enough of them that I was able to walk away with one and be happy. Prices are excellent.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Always enjoy their beers. Unfortunately last time I was there with my buddy, he ask for a beer they were out of. So then he asked for a different different beer, which they were also out of. So my buddy says to the bartender, "ah you're fucking killing me here". He was being sarcastic. The bartender proceeded to call us "fucking scumbags". Tossed my card at me, because I already got a beer. And kicked us out, while threatening to call the cops on us. Beers are good, but I'll never support their business again.
google avatar

Sonal C.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite brewery. Such a great selection of IPAs and their tasting flights are super affordable. Great casual date night spot or a relaxed spot to hangout, play games and sip on amazing quality beer!

Yelp
Tired of drinking the same old watered down beer that your daddy and grandaddy have been drinking since the beginning of time? Try some craft brewed beer and while you're at it, pay a visit to Cypress Brewing Company, who happens to be in the Class of 2015 of new breweries to open its doors in the garden state. My buddies and I only work about 10 mins from here and decided to pay them a visit one day after work. They are located a bit off the beaten path but not too far from Route 1 and Middlesex County College. The tasting room has a few tables as well as a bar and a small TV. We sampled some beers and were then given a tour of the brewhouse. The owners/brewers are really cool guys. In fact, I was even told that I could come brew with them anytime that I wanted. After the tour, we sampled a few more beers. I especially enjoyed the Double Chocolate Imperial Oatmeal Stout and English Nut Brown Ale. They also had an IPA, West Coast IPA, Irish Red, Amber and Hefeweizen. These guys are still relatively small but it seems like they have a lot of room to grow especially in Middlesex county. Cheers to craft beer.

Yelp
Since I normally associate Edison as Brown Town New Jersey, I was surprised at the existence of a local craft brewery. Cypress Brewing is small tasting room hidden in an industrial park. While the venue location did not immediately inspire confidence, the inside has a divey, craft feel that I love. The atmosphere is further elevated by the quick wit and humor of the bartenders and clientele. There were 8 beers on draft and good variety from ipas to stouts. Tried them all as I split two flights of 4 with my friend. My favorite was the cypress love, a 8% abv double ipa that had a good balance of hop bitterness and malty sweetness. I will be back for some more brews in the near future!
google avatar

Doug D.

Yelp
Cypress is similar to other breweries in that it is a hidden gem in an industrial park, where you would not expect a festive place to be located. However, it is distinguishable in that their beers are very, very bold and flavorful. Cypress appeals to the hardcore craft beer enthusiasts. It is also very small and intimate, more so than you would expect. I was also pleasantly surprised that they have a slightly more ethnically diverse crowd than most breweries have, which I enjoyed experiencing. People will definitely enjoy how the flights had these really cool handled beer mugs instead of shot glasses. Cypress has longer hours, too, which I appreciate. Kudos to them for increasing their barrel production, which is in the works right now.
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
I've only been here once but I ran through the gamete of every beer they were offering at the time and it made me a fan. I've been meaning to get back to Cypress for some of the bomber releases, but schedule conflicts have prevented me from doing so. This time of year I crush porters and stouts. I enjoyed every porter and stout I tried at Cypress. The location is a bit hard to see, but worth looking for.

Michael L.

Yelp
Well made beers, but nothing traditional about a single one of them. I'm old school and continue to search for local breweries that are willing to brew trational pale ales (who does that anymore?), IPAs and lagers. If you like bubblegum tasting beer, than there's one's being made here.
google avatar

Chuck O.

Yelp
The brewery is great and the beer is tasty! It definitely is small and I hear they are going to get bigger for an expansion soon. I love the fact that they have a jukebox. I wish they sold their swag on site rather than online. I know ppl in our party who would have made purchases but probably won't online. The IPAs were tasty so love the beer!
google avatar

Tashana M.

Yelp
5 star experience all around! Danielle is the best. The beers are in the high 3s range. Favorites are the nutbrown and insane dipa
google avatar

Alicja P.

Yelp
Good brews and a laid-back atmosphere. Very good deal for the flight tastings - the bf and I got one flight each and were able to sample all of the beers available that day. The brewery is expanding so I am excited to return when the renovations are ready!
google avatar

Wil-Justin O.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Though the tap room is a bit small, it's not a dealbreaker. They have tons of boardgames wish my wife and I love to play while we drink. The staff are super courteous, providing cups plates forks and knives when we order food from around the corner. And of course, the beer is great! Love their usual stuff but their seasonal beer is where they shine the most.
google avatar

Kitty P.

Yelp
My family and I stopped here on the way to run a errand and Im so glad we did. Not only were the beers spectacular but the vibe was super friendly. Danielle was really hospitable and knowledgable. I really cant wait to go back. They didn't have growler fills that day and I think it was ablessing because I might have filled at least 3 to tale home. A must stop if your in the area and an awesome go to desrination if you arent.
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
So glad my girlfriend and I heard about this place! It might not be in the best location for someone to stumble upon, but it should definitely be on everyone's list. The tasting room/bar is pretty small. Only about 3 tables with a few stools around the wall and at the bar, but who really needs room anyway. The man behind the bar, who I assume to be one of the owners was incredibly friendly and took all the newcomers on a tour of their facility and explained the history behind the name and beer making. If you're in the area and want great beer at good prices and free pretzels, then Cypress is the place to go!

Yelp
Almost hidden away in a cross between a strip mall and industrial park is one the area's newest breweries, Cypress Brewing. The place is very simple, just a basic small tasting room where they also offer some merch and growlers. You can't see the brewing process from how it's set up. When I came there were 7 beers on tap (6 uniquely theirs and one collaboration with another brewery) and 1 beer available in large bottles for $11. The drafts were $5-6 and ranged from 9-16 oz pours. Most of the beers were on the darker side and were quite good. I found the pumpkin, chocolate, and vanilla themed beers to be extremely subtle with those respective flavors but the Coconut Brown (4.3% abv, $5 for 14oz) to have a very pronounced but not overpowering coconut flavor to it, it was definitely my favorite of the bunch. I loved that they offer individual containers of pretzel sticks for free upon request and the service was very friendly. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area to see what else they have brewing but I wouldn't travel far out of this one.

Yelp
Decided to stop at Cypress Brewing the other day as we were in the area. It is very small, & very loud, but they do have seats outside in the front you can sit. The barkeep, Danielle was very personable & although the volume was deafening made sure we got what we want & answered all of out questions. The beer here is good, not great but solid. I probably would give a 3.5 star but again, Yelp won't let me. These guys deserve the rounding out for the great staff & decent beer.
