Cyprus Avenue

"You’ll find something for everyone at this appealing, all-day bistro. It’s a big, busy place: head for one of the booths or the lovely covered terrace. There’s an extensive choice at breakfast, while at lunch and dinner, freshly baked breads come with delicious hop butter and are followed by a wide selection of original, modern dishes." - Michelin Inspector

Came here for a family birthday celebration. We were a mixed party of vegans and non-vegans and there was aplenty on the menu for everyone to choose from. The vegan teriyaki mushrooms with pancakes were excellent. My husband had nut roast with sausages and vegan gravy and really enjoyed it too. We also took a side of green vegetables with peanuts - also delicious. The staff was very attentive and super helpful. Also - brilliant cocktail choices. Will definitely be back

Absolutely brilliant experience. The service was first class and the food even more so. Portions were generous and the prices were great. Not our first time here and won't be the last.

I went to the Wine Skool last night for the first time. The service was great and all the staff took time to speak with us and were so friendly. The food was amazing especially the prawns. The whole evening was a great experience and there was a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be back for another wine skool!

Great night - food was amazing, cocktails were special, service was great. I was especially well looked after as it was my birthday, and we were given some lovely treats! I've never been disappointed here and would highly recommend a visit

A lovely dining experience, food was delicious and very interesting! Our group ate from the 3 course Christmas menu and it was good value for money. The atmosphere is great if you're looking for a special occasion, I hope to be back soon!

My daughter is Ceoliac and our server was so well informed most of the meals were gluten free or had a substitute. It can be so difficult to find places that not only have options but you can have confidence in. They also had a little kids bad with a mask, crayons and the coloring in sheet. I would highly recommend Cyprus Avenue after our experience today to the point where I had to go online to review.

Yelp
Cyprus Avenue was recommended to me by the folks at Belfast Castle as a potential caterer for our wedding. We went to check it out, and enjoyed a meal there before letting them know the reason for our visit. The menu offered a lot of intriguing combinations -- this is not a less-is-more kind of place. We liked the food, we found the people to be personable and easy to work with, they were very responsive to our needs and our requests, and we contracted with them to provide food for our reception and also a barbecue the day after the wedding. If you're considering Cyprus Avenue for an event, on- or off-site, HIRE THEM! The two events they did for us were spectacular -- all of our visitors raved about the food at the reception (and the barbecue was even better), and the staff were so thorough and professional that my bride and I were able to relax and enjoy our own wedding knowing that everything was taken care of. Great food, great people, imaginative cooking -- we will always be indebted to the people at Cyprus Avenue, and will go out of our way to visit and dine there.

Yelp
I had been given a recommendation to check this place out because it was an homage to Van Morrison'a classic song and street he grew up on. The Decour is nice and it's a spacious location overall. In good weather, it's nice they have a large patio to accommodate, also. Nothing on the menu really called out to me once I was sitting down and reading through it. It was a quiet afternoon, there was one large party outdoors on the patio and two other tables with two people each. I saw two servers. I decided to order bread and one glass of wine and then move somewhere else for dinner. I enjoyed the breads and the wine. The olive tapenade was divine. The hop-infused whipped butter was interesting on the tastebuds initially, it grew on me. I think they might need more help. The large table was waiting to order for so long, one of the guests came inside to hunt down a server to place their order. Nobody ever checked on me once I had my plate of bread to see if I was enjoying it. I don't think I will return to this establishment.

Yelp
This place may have been good at some point, but we went as a group in June 2022 and everyone's meal was inedible. Do not spend your money here.

Yelp
Was happy to learn Cyprus Avenue offer a separate, dedicated vegetarian menu. From this I ordered a main consisting of chicory croissant, poached egg and dressed salad. However, it was a rather strange dish and the flavours didn't work well together. The croissant was too sweet, eggs bland and salad didn't appear to be dressed at all. Dessert was much better, being a gorgeous chocolate Bakewell tart with passion fruit sorbet - really good. Service was attentive and our waitress extremely helpful, especially given that two people in our party of four couldn't decide what to order and asked her advice for every course! They were very happy with her recommendations - perhaps I should have asked her guidance regarding the best vegetarian dish! Restaurant decor is beautiful and there's plenty of outside seating also. However, we ordered a bottle of Spanish wine to share initially and once this was finished we ordered another bottle from a male staff member asking him for the same again. We only noticed after the second bottle had been delivered to our table and poured that it was actually a completely different wine! We didn't complain as it had already been poured by the time we realised the mistake, and was quite nice wine, but this was disappointing and showed a lack of attention to detail. Despite these couple of blips, I would return to give Cyprus Avenue another go, as I enjoyed the experience overall and my dining companions loved their food. I feel that on this first visit I did not experience the best of vegetarian food they have to offer, thus I would order a different veggie main next time and keep a very close eye on the wine served.
