Yelp
Being productive in my hometown has never been so fabulous!
On a recent weekend trip to my hometown, I had some Yelpy fun that I wanted to brainstorm and decided to venture out of my mom's place for a comfy spot to work. Thanks to my fave app that highlights local businesses (hint: you're on it right now!), I came across Cyth & Co, located right in Oakland Park where I grew up.
I'll say this to start - if you think the pictures on Yelp blow you away, you've got to see this place in person. Located in a small plaza in a steady-growing neighborhood, Cyth & Co sits right on the corner and you can't miss it once you cross the tracks. I lucked up with a great spot only a few steps away, but there's parking all around the plaza if you time it right. Walking up, you have to walk through their spacious outdoor terrace with room for plenty. I usually love to sit outside and work, but in that South Florida weather? Not happening lol. So I ventured on inside to the ac.
Before I could even approach the door fully, I was taken aback by the gorgeous floral display hugging their front door. So pretty! How could you not want to walk in once you see that?! And when I opened the doors, the beautiful golds and emerald shades of the interior decor made it look like a beautiful little boutique, not a coffee shop. Major IG aesthetics! There were numerous tables that fit a variety of parties, whether you came to work solo dolo or to have drinks with friends, loved that. I opted for a seat in the corner on one of their lush, tufted couches where electrical power was nearby, super cozy beyond being right in front of the air vent! And the wifi was great even with multiple guests typing away on their laptops.
When I arrived, it was afternoon and I was looking for a bit of a pick-me-up plus a little something to nosh on. Their menu wasn't overwhelming in quantity, but in quality! Like, how could I ever choose between the delicious offerings they were serving up?! Luckily, I'm one of those people who trusts the team and the business and I love asking for recommendations. I feel awful because through my rush, I've forgotten the name of the cutie pie with glasses who assisted me, but what a gem they were. I chatted them up and they gave me the recommendation of a Matcha Lemonade and the Ham & Cheese Quiche with a Broccoli side salad. By the way their energy changed when they recommended it, I knew it was going to be fireeee. And babes, it absolutely was. My Matcha Lemonade came out first and omggg. Matcha can sometimes be overpowering but not this one. It was a perfect blend of matcha and lemonade, not too sweet, not chalky, just refreshing! I wish I ordered two. My Ham & Cheese quiche was such a healthy portion, I thought it'd be much smaller. It was hot, delicious and packed with hearty ingredients that made for a perfect brunch-ish kinda bite. And the broccoli salad! I love broccoli salad and this one was fantastic, as it added in pickled red onion and *chefs kiss*. Delicious choices!
What made Cyth & Co even better, was the info cards noting that they also serve brunch and cocktails!! I can't wait to visit Cyth & Co again, they have a new fan!
