We have named this diner the EAT Diner!! You will notice my 5 star rating for atmosphere - this is NOT a fancy place, the 5 star rating is for the old, dingy, dive of my childhood when all diners had this truck stop feel. It is yet to be replicated anywhere else!! I have been coming to this hidden gem for over 30 years - I used to attend a rabbit show (yes, like a dog show, but with purebred rabbits) in Harford, and this was the whole reason for leaving the house more than an hour early while packing animals and kids. I haven't been here in about 10 years, and it is exactly as I remember! Warm and nostalgic, delicious food, excellent service, and an EZ-Off/EZ-On location that makes it simple to stop, eat, and go on to your next destination! Today my husband had French Toast and orange juice, and I got my favorite sausage gravy and biscuits, with a side of sausage patty and coffee! My husband didn't enjoy his OJ, and there was zero issues taking it off the bill, even though he had tried to drink half of the small glass. I liked it, he likes a sweeter OJ. While seated at the counter, I can see the specials, and I am almost sad that I am not here for lunch or dinner - great mouth watering specials with prices that won't break the bank!

Hands down one of the best Truck Stop restaurant / food in the country.. as someone who likes to eat good, this place has something special about it. Been around since 1962 and one of the few old school Mom and Pop places left. I stop here every chance I get since the food is just that good... always parking.. never took a shower here but the flying j is only 2 mi away. usually I take a shower and come back

If you’re cruising through and need a bite, Penn Can Trucker Stop Diner is the definition of a hidden gem. It’s one of those rare hole-in-the-wall diners that feels completely stuck in time—in the best possible way. The booths still have old-school phone jacks on the poles, a nostalgic nod to the days when truckers would literally “phone home” from their seats. I decided to be adventurous and tried scrapple for the first time. Honestly, not my personal favorite—but that’s just taste preference. Everything else I ordered? Absolute fire. Perfectly cooked, hearty, and exactly the kind of comfort food you want on the road. The atmosphere is pure Americana, the service is warm and no-nonsense, and the prices are more than fair. Whether you’re a trucker, a traveler, or just a fan of classic diners, this place is worth the stop. 100% recommend.

Interesting place right off 81. It's literally a diner at a truck stop. Service is a little slow but the servers were pleasant. Very casual inside. We enjoyed omelettes & I had the caesar salad. Food was good. Prices were cheap for what you get! Great prices! Bring cash as there is a 3.99 CC fee.

I have lived in New Milford a long time but never made the effort to venture here. I'm so glad I did today. We were greeted with friendly smiles and a very comfortable local atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent and made with experience and care for the customers experience. Everything was served hot including the toast. I highly recommend this restaurant for a hearty, delicious and hot country breakfast. I will return many times in the future.

White stuff always very very friendly.... There are boots and tables available we typically sit at the counter sometimes we talk to cook always we watch him cook he knows how to cook the way people want their meals.... He did a great job cooking or scrambled eggs A super job cooking and omelette and all potatoes came back crispy just like we ordered.... Easy to get off Route 81 easy to get back on for 81 going north or going south.... This place is in Pennsylvania about a half hour drive south of Binghamton.....

Nostalgic without the kitsch . I've been driving past this location, just off Rt. 81N, for years, but never knew this restaurant even existed. What a find! A very welcome change to the chain restaurants usually found near gas stations, etc. I was nicely greeted as soon as I walked in, and the waitress behind the counter asked if I was having coffee, even before I'd sat down. I ordered a Western omelet, rye toast, and bacon, all cooked to my satisfaction. Including coffee, the bill came less than $18. A bargain! The clientele was a pleasant mix of truckers, fathers, and sons on a fishing trip, families with teens, and campers like me. To top it off, there's a quaint general store/souvenir shop on the premises. I picked up a couple of bottles of Bee Cap vitamin supplements, which I'm looking forward to testing. I will certainly make D&H Penn Can Restaurant one of my frequent stops from now on. - G P.S. The name "D & H Penn Can Restaurant" likely derives from the historic Delaware and Hudson Canal and its connection to Pennsylvania. - Wiki
