The Hotel Hits Keep Coming in Croatia

"D-Resort's proprietors didn’t attempt to outdo the town of Šibenik’s arched, cobblestoned, clay-roofed grandeur; instead, the 63 rooms (plus 6 suites and 3 villas) espouse bright, roomy, 21st-century minimalism." - Mark Fedeli

The Hotel Hits Keep Coming in Croatia

"Sensibly, D-Resort’s proprietors didn’t attempt to outdo the town of Šibenik’s arched, cobblestoned, clay-roofed grandeur; it’s quite correctly considered impossible beauty, after all." - Mark Fedeli

D-Resort Šibenik (Dalmatia, Croatia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Croatia’s Dalmatian coast has never had to work very hard to attract landscape junkies or seafaring lifers. It’s got a bit of everything: here, the handsomely rugged Dinaric Alps peter themselves out in a patchwork of national parkland, olive groves, and vineyards. Zoom in a bit to the Krka river estuary, emptying placidly into the Adriatic, and you’ll find a narrow spit of land just south of the Renaissance stronghold of Šibenik. Right on the tip of that peninsula, luxuriating in the clement Mediterranean breeze, sits a four-story, teardrop-shaped contemporary edifice, flanked by a fleet of swanky yachts. Welcome to D-Resort Šibenik." - Tablet Hotels

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this resort, which is about 10 minutes' drive from the town. We enjoyed the outdoor pool, and the spa (which includes an infinity pool outside and an indoor hot-tub "pool", saunas, steam room and other services, such as massage). The restaurant served us the best meal of our trip and the views are great, due to the scenic location of the resort, being on a peninsula. The rooms are modern and spacious. I would recommend this hotel and I am VERY picky. The staff has a commitment to customer service.

We had a fabulous stay at this modern architect designed hotel. Our room on the Marina side (for the best views and afternoon sun) was spacious, with plenty of storage, the beds are large and comfy with lovely bedlinen. The bathrooms (we had just a shower) are also well equipped with hairdryer, make up mirror, good lighting and twin sinks. The staff from Reception, house-keeping and all the hospitality areas were polite, friendly, helpful and seemed interest in the guests at all times. There was never a problem getting a sun lounger or cabana at the pool and it was a nice calm environment, to chill and read. The service, food and wine make a quality experience in the restaurant, try to get a table outside just before sunset for the perfect views! Complimentary underground parking was a bonus, as the car was always cool when we needed it. We were advised that parking in the old town was tricky, so we used Uber, which always arrived quickly and cost around €6-7 each way. Make sure you visit Šibenik, it is a historical city with much to explore including boat tours and electric tuk-tuks for a guided sightseeing tour. The old town has a large choice of restaurants and bars, great for chilling and people watching day and evening! We had a wonderful 6 night stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the D-Resort when visiting the area.

What a lovely hotel. Stayed here for one week in June for my Husbands birthday. A very nice chocolate cake was left in our room. 1st class service from all staff. Special mention to Dubravka K on the front desk, amazing customer service.|We had 3 rooms next to each other on the ground floor for our family of 6. Beautiful view of the marina, very clean and most important very quiet.|If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay with excellent service I thoroughly recommend this hotel.|My husband was already talking about a return visit before we even checked out.|The breakfast was also excellent, good choice and exceptional service, staff happily moved tables around to accommodate our family.|I can also recommend the Art restaurant, amazing food and service.

We stayed one night (July 29–30), traveling as a couple with our 5-year-old daughter. Before booking, we called the hotel to ask if we needed to book for 3 people, as our daughter would sleep in our bed. The receptionist clearly told us that booking for 2 was sufficient. Based on that information, we booked a double room and even added a note mentioning we’d be traveling with our child. When we arrived late in the evening, we were warmly welcomed and impressed by the hotel’s high standards and beautiful setting. However, during check-in, the receptionist casually mentioned that an extra charge of €50 would apply for the third person. We explained our phone conversation from the day before, and he seemed to understand. The next day during check-out, a different receptionist insisted on charging us the €50. She claimed to have spoken with the colleague from our phone call, who allegedly only said our daughter could “sleep in the same bed”, which is not what we had asked. We communicated entirely in Croatian at every stage - during the phone call, at check-in, and at check-out - so there was no language barrier or misunderstanding. Additionally, the room we booked was for 2 people with just one queen bed, and we received no additional service in return for the €50. We were disappointed that the hotel refused to acknowledge their mistake or offer any goodwill gesture. It left a bitter taste in what would have otherwise been a great experience. While the hotel is excellent in terms of infrastructure and setting, we were let down by the lack of responsibility and customer orientation in this situation.

Myself and my partner stayed at the D resort in June for 6 nights and loved it. The staff are always helpful and happy to help. We had a small issue with the shower blocking and this was resolved straight away and again the next day, without affecting our stay. ||Other than the shower blocking the hotel was exceptional and the views were stunning. The hotel is a short drive to Šibenik where we parked at Banj beach (5 euro) which is super easy to find and allows you to access the beach and stroll into Šibenik where there is a lovely town along the Mariana. In Šibenik you have lots of food and drink options and the old town offers lots of sweet treats and history.||The hotel has two lovely pool areas where you can also access a gym and a spa area. On the day of check out we were able to shower at the spa area which was perfect for us, as our flight was late. ||The food is delicious and we would 100 percent recommend this hotel and visit in the future. ||Katherine and Jessica.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely hotel. We wanted a week in a peaceful spot and we got it. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking the marina. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Food was very good and the two pools were never too busy. We did a trip over to Sibenik and to Krka National Park. Would stay again.

This may be the best luxury hotel|On the Croatian coast. We had a wonderful stay. Brand new beautiful rooms , gorgeous architecture, incredibly friendly and attentive kind staff, delicious food all made our stay memorable. Highly recommend a room facing the marina the sunsets are amazing. If you want more privacy for a larger group the villas are super luxury and comfortable with their own parking. There are ample opportunities to rent a boat daily and enjoy nearby bays. There are two pools. There are steps to the sea from one of the pools - although theres no beach. Sibenik is a much quieter town away from cruise ships in Split but still cute and with restaurants.

I went to D-Resort with my boyfriend for a long weekend. |The staff was extremely nice, we got a welcome drink and cold towel to cool off upon arrival. |The view from our room was amazing, as it is from all other rooms, I'd imagine, due to the very specific layout of the hotel. It feels fancy but it doesn't give off the vibe of being selective of it's guests - we're two somewhat alternative looking people and we just loved it there, never felt out of place. The rooftop walkway is my jam! I felt like camping there!!|Food was abundant in every way and we truly enjoyed each breakfast and dinner we had there. |The amenities are great - the Spa was our go to each day, it has just the right amount of privacy and it's beautifully decorated. One thing I'd mention here is the fact that the drinks station in the Spa area was not fully operational all of the time (there was no cold water to drink at times and no glasses), kind of felt like they were a bit understaffed there and one day a worker started shutting things down a full half hour (maybe even a bit more) before closing time. This felt a bit weird and we felt like we were being pushed out. But I will not hold this one issue against the hotel that really delivered above and beyond!
