D-Town Farm (DBCFSN)

Felt very fortunate to experience this magical, sacred place. It’s home to such a cool community of Black and Brown farmers and folks who are bringing land back to the people. Loved getting to experience Harvest Festival for the first time!!!

Cool working urban farm with about 7 acres. Nice place to see what can be done in a public space to enhance food security. Growing a variety of vegetables and some grain, children's space, a little composting, and a whole lot of education.

Thank You to all the Baba's and Mama's and BABIES, working and volunteering at the farm. The annual Children's Day Harvest is a great learning opportunity for the children (and ADULTS) in the community to learn about sustainable living & nature.

I enjoyed listening to the music and learning about what they do on the farm. I learn about the African culture. How they pray for ancestors who names they don't know and the ones that they do know.

D-Town Farm, operated by the one and only Baba Malik Yakini, is the best of its kind in the city! My first trip here this past summer at the annual festival was memorable! Every one was warm, friendly and very welcomimg.

Excellent, well run farm. Bringing fresh produce to our community. Fighting the 'food deserts '. 18 years and counting!

D-Town Farms is making a great impact in the city for urban farming and has annual events like Harvest fest too. On my most recent visit I listened to music, watched my mother attempt double Dutch, rode a horse and attended a demonstration on beekeeping. I enjoy doing herb walks here and supporting a good group of people, Malik Yakini and his crew do the City of Detroit proud.
