"The d4 Tabletop Gaming Café has opened on Oak Street with po-boys, bread pudding, and board games (to play at the cafe or at home), and an “annex” to rent for rowdier role-playing games like Magic. Eight-year-olds can learn to play Dungeons and Dragons on Saturday mornings." - Stephanie Carter

Wow! What a find! Great place for all your D&D paraphernalia. Dice, maps, unpainted and painted mini figures, books, handbooks, and in and on. My son was in Dungeons and Dragons heaven! If we can, we will head back to NO just for a chance to visit this store. Very knowledgeable staff too!

Cool little game shop just I’d Carrollton in an interesting neighborhood. D&D, Eurogames, card games, etc. Friendly and engaging staff. I picked up some used games and some mini-figs. Great prices. I will certainly be back!

Stopped in while visiting NOLA and had a couple of hours to kill. Very friendly owner and locals. They have a good selection of rental games. Tables are free for customers, either playing your own and buying food or renting their games. They also have a good selection of games to buy. Focus on D&D and Magic but also some well curated board games. I definitely recommend dropping by and checking it out. Be aware they have a few parking spaces out back dedicated to their shop so you could save on parking on the street.

Google
Great place to play table top games. They also sell all kinds of games and accessories. The food is ok, but the best part is that they have a lot of large tables and they stay open until 2am on the weekends. If you go out the back door, there's another building with more tables. The guy that's always working there is really nice and accommodating. I only got one picture of a smaller table by the entrance.

The staff and owners are awesome, they go above and beyond to help with gaming, painting, and food tips...the food is excellent as well. I brought my 8 year old with me both times and they are very patient and willing to listen to all his gaming questions. The gaming miniatures for D&D are extremely affordable, and detailed. we picked up a set of unpainted Dragon Born and Druids for about $5 and change for 2 miniatures!

We had a group of 6. We all enjoyed playing some new board games and some of us bought some new dice (cause you can never have enough dice). Staff friendly and helpful!

Yelp
My friends and I were looking for a board game cafe and we came across d4 Tabletop Gaming Cafe. They have shelves and shelves of games. The games for rent are in the back and games to buy in the front. There is a parking lot in the back. Inside there are a few tables up front and some tables in the back. They also serve sandwiches, salads, wraps, and a few other items. We spent about 5 hours here playing Smallworld and Betrayal at House on the Hill. Each game has a rental price, which is a lot cheaper than how much the actual game would cost. The games were in great condition and all the pieces were there. We also ordered food and it tasted really fresh. I had the turkey & Swiss wrap and it was a really good wrap. It was healthy and filled you up. There is also a friendly dog that walks around. He's totally harmless. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. If you are in the area and looking for a board game cafe, I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Great find in New Orleans with friendly service and ambiance. We got a bunch of Battletech figures and a Battletech guidebook here on a good price, and very thankful as Battletech stuff is hard to find. There were also a lot of board games and wide variety of other games. We came here on vacation on a recommendation from the proprietor at the nearby Warhammer store next to Camellia Grill, and so happy we made the visit! d4 was also a nice 10-15min walk after lunch at the iconic Camellia Grill countertop diner.

Yelp
Lovely new board game cafe. Library of about 150 games in fine condition for inexpensive rental in the store or to take home. Small collection of games to buy, too. Friendly couple owns and runs the place. Short but yummy menu. Spent a few hours here with a chum, had lunch, played a few games, and walked out only $30 lighter including tax and tip. Would definitely return.

Yelp
D4 is a wonderful table top game store. Friday nights they have pickup DND games. Great way for a new player to learn with the help of more experienced players. Store seems like a labor of love. It's a really friendly, helpful community that is open to new players young and old.

Yelp
Very fun place; finally a place for DnD and tabletop gamers to go and play or just hang out. There is a large selection of games to play or buy, and a big selection of minis. You can buy spell card packs, and other related items. Very cool dice gumball machine, too! One of the workers also sells handmade earrings, which I find very adorable. There is a space in the back for larger parties as well, which feels conducive to immersion as it's darker, and the front portion is naturally lit, so you have a choice of ambiance. Very kind people, I recommend any player to check this place out! A friend of mine frequents their adventures league on Tuesdays, and they run other games too.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to check out this cafe as an anniversary date night and we were not disappointed! We are new to board games but the owner had a nice selection which you can rent or buy. We chose to rent Pandemic and got a roast beef poboy to munch on while we played. The owner and workers are all very friendly and helpful. We've been back twice since our date and rented two games. I have no complaints and will be back to play and eat in the near future. Check it out!

Yelp
Definitely a role play game store. But very cool. We scored some great things from their 50% off shelf. Definitely with checking out.

Yelp
Large game store with great selection and helpful staff. Not a cafe though. Several open gaming tables. Lots of minis

Yelp
I first came by in 2018 and finally had the opportunity to drop by again. I love the atmosphere in this place-- recessed lighting, real furniture, knick knacks just out of reach, swords of all kinds mounted on the walls-- the effect is that you really feel like you've walked into another world and as you travel into the back of the store or into the annex you can feel the atmosphere transporting you. I love that they sell blind box miniatures-- both pathfinder and DnD-- individually and out of box in a well-lit display case. They have a respectable selection of books and games as well. The staff is so friendly and I felt really comfortable chatting about things that I wouldn't be able to discuss at all at a normal bookstore. My one gripe is that the retail space is a bit small. I understand why, but the result is that the selection is very slim and so anything understocked sticks out like a sore thumb. The food is more than serviceable: if you want to eat something special or incredible Oak Street has you covered in walking distance, but the priority here is food that will fill you up and keep your game rolling.

Yelp
Was in town looking for a place to get a tabletop game on for Father's day, and was lucky to find a couple of reviews that pointed us here. (Since there was a comic book store just up the street and GW store around the corner, planning seemed like a geeky trifecta.) We took the Streetcar from Canal, and had no problem finding the shop at all. When we stopped in, we were impressed by the selection of games, friendly staff, inexpensive menu, and clean state of the shop. We ended up renting and playing through a couple of different games and enjoying a very inexpensive lunch. After, we picked up a few things to take home with us. While we were there, a D&D group was playing at one of the front table, and a demo ran at another. During our time a couple of other D&D groups came in and took up residence at other tables. This made it seem like it would be a great place to find a pick-up game or join a longer running campaign. They had a nice range of RPG books, minis, CCGs, and dice for sale, in addition to food and drinks. They also had branded dice bags and similar sundries. Our favorite novelty was the gumball machine that was loaded with RPG dice. If you're into tabletop games or just curious about them, this is a definite must see.

Yelp
Wow this place has it all.. games food and amazing staff. It's been years decades even since I played dungeons and dragons. They helped me make a character then set me up at a table to begin my adventure. It's off the Saint Charles Street car, so easy access from the French Quarter. We will return soon.

Yelp
Great cafe where you are welcome to hang out for hours-- that is the point! Food is simple and reasonably priced. A great place for a teen/tween tabletop gaming birthday party, since you can reserve a table in the Annex (small building in the back) for $20, as long as the only outside food you bring is a birthday cake. We just bought lots and lots of their chips and other treats, drinks, and several grilled cheese sandwiches cut into quarters. Total cost for a 5-hour party at a private, reserved table for ten hungry teen/tween boys was just under $100. The kids loved it, and I loved the quick clean-up and easy preparation. There are a few parking spaces for D4 customers as well, in case you are loading in party supplies like balloons, tablecloth, etc.
