Da Foodie Spot - Review - Greenbriar - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Da Foodie Spot is acounter-service-onlyspot in SWAT that serves standout soul food in big portions. Tucked away in a plaza across from Greenbriar Mall, this is the place to stop by when you have a crew to feed and don’t want to wonder if you’re going to get runny mashed potatoes or unseasoned, dry chicken. You won’t. Everything on the short, often-changing menu hits." - Jacinta Howard

The 13 Best Hot Dogs In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"A takeout spot in a shopping strip across from Greenbriar Mall, Stuffy Dawg works as a decent option for folks who’ve been running around all day and forgot to grab dinner. While you may pause at some of the hot dogs’ playful toppings (shrimp alfredo, buffalo BBQ), you'll applaud the fresh ingredients and the kitchen’s grilling techniques. Elaborate burgers are done with similarly fun fixings, but oddly, you don’t quite taste the same chargrilled love as the dogs." - juli horsford, demarco williams

Southwest Atlanta Dining Guide - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"A takeout spot in a shopping strip across from Greenbriar Mall, Stuffy Dawg works as a decent option for folks who’ve been running around all day and forgot to grab dinner. While you may pause at some of the hot dogs’ playful toppings (shrimp alfredo, buffalo barbecue), you're likely to applaud the fresh ingredients and the kitchen’s grilling techniques. Elaborate burgers are done with similarly fun fixings, but oddly, you don’t quite taste the same chargrilled love as the dogs. But most things here are solid. In fact, the banana pudding is damn good. So, if you’re on Headland Drive when your stomach starts growling, you might as well detour for a dawg." - demarco williams, nina reeder, jacinta howard

After seeing an Instagram video on this place today, I decided let’s try it out TODAY. FOOD RATINGS: 1. Mac n Cheese, 10/10 old school reminds me of childhood. 2. Candied Yams, 10/10 exactly what you want from some good candied yams 3. Green Beans, 10/10 Sooooooo good! Flavored right! 4. Soul Cabbage, 8/10 When you get a bite with the green pepper, it’s much better. 5. Red Beans w/ White Rice 5/10 It’s okay. Not bad, not great, just right in the middle. 6. Smothered Chicken over white rice, 8/10 Delicious and a little different than you may expect. 7. Fried Turkey Ribs, 8.5/10 Tender, seasoned and fried nicely 8. Fried Chicken Wings, 7.5/10 Good flavor, simple, just some good homemade fried chicken wings. 9. Pink Lemonade Kool Aid 10/10 PERFECTLY SWEETENED! 10. Whatever the Strawberry flavored drink is 9/10 different and delicious Overall Experience ***PROS: 1. Food was worth the 40 mins it took for me to get there. 2. The woman that came from the back after my order was completed, was on it. She was about business and corrected the not so great initial impression I had of the place without her even knowing it. 3. The wait for the food was not long at all. Maybe 15 mins it took, if that. 4. I like that the Soul Food offerings are just enough but not too many options. There are 6 sides and 10 entrees to choose from. 5. The prices are fair. For the 3 meals, I spent $48.97 with tax. Smothered chicken was $16.99, Fried Chicken was $16.99, and Fried Turkey Ribs were $14.99. The drinks were complimentary. They are $5 each. ***CONS: 1. The young man taking the order needs to be trained to have better customer service, but honestly most places today have sub par customer service, which is very disappointing. 2. The floor was stickier than any floor I’ve ever stepped on in my life, literally. 🤣 And it was actually a Wet Floor sign up. What I found out later was that the young man at the register didn’t mop up a spill correctly, and just spread it. When the woman came from the back, I demonstrated how sticky the floor was, and she IMMEDIATELY got him to go get some hot soapy water and come out to mop it up correctly. AND HE DID, EXPEDITIOUSLY. 😆 3. 🗣️WE NEED YOU GUYS TO GET A WEBSITE FOR THE SOUL FOOD PART, PLUS ADD A MENU TO THE PHOTOS ON GOOGLE MAPS AS WELL. The Instagram videos caught my attention, but when looking you up on here or the website, the soul food aspect is not yet represented. 4. Even though the space is small, you really could set a vibe with a little bit of decor and music. You guys only need to make a few tweaks to be a really popping spot for some good Soul Food takeout. So overall score, I would give this place a 8/10. I will definitely make that drive again for the food and the drinks.

Date of visit 7/25/25 @ 6:38pm. Greenbrier location Soul Food: I ordered the smoothered chicken w/rice, macaroni, red beans and rice, and candied yams. Everything was well-seasoned & great. Service was fast. Priced reasonably at $19.05. Free parking. Only area for improvement was the smothered chicken wasn't served to me hot or even close to being hot, but it was still great! I will be back! 5-stars!

I decided to visit Da Foodie Soul Food after seeing a YouTube video/ TikTok review of this location. I love to try Black owned restaurants all around and give my take. Well I have to say my food did not disappoint; however, the service was poor. The young lady behind the counter had a really rude attitude for no reason. I was praying before visiting that this establishment, that they didn’t perpetuate the typical stereotype of Black owned businesses having poor customer service. Well today they did. I ordered the smothered chicken over rice with candied yams and baked mac & cheese. The lady gave me my total and I have her cash, she did not have any change left and tried to short change me, looked at me and said I don’t have any change left. I told her to give me my money back and I would simply charge my order. Then she said I would have to refund the order on the register, got frustrated and said “I don’t have time for this” and yelled over the counter to her friend or co-worker seated in lobby (lady with glasses and pink hair) and asked if she had change. Eventually, she went to her purse and got the change and slammed it on the counter. This behavior went on with other customers as well. She overlooked and talked over one lady standing at the counter. That woman had to eventually ask could she order and the lady went “oh my bad”. I also observed them leaving items of people’s orders. One time, she had to run outside to catch one couple, who had left, because she forgot to give them an item. Perhaps if she acts a little kinder, she won’t be so uptight and forget what she is doing. I overheard her and the male prepping the food complaining about the individual who delivers their yams, after they ran out, in a negative way. After I arrived home and tasted the food, it tasted good. Unfortunately, after my overall observation, I definitely will not frequent here again. My wait time was about 18 minutes.

I went to Da Foodie Spot on a Friday around 3 pm. The restaurant was really clean and I was immediately greeted by Tia, who was really nice. It’s important to note that it is a take out spot. There are a few chairs, but no place to eat. We ordered the honey lemon pepper wings, chicken rice bowl, shrimp eggroll platter, and the sliders. The honey lemon pepper wings were really flavorful and were costed with a delicious sauce. The chicken rice bowl was my favorite! It was really good. Yellow rice is topped with cheese, chicken, and broccoli. It also had a creamy cajun sauce on top. The shrimp eggrolls were absolutely amazing! It was well seasoned and I think shrimp and broccoli were inside. The sliders are good too. Please note that they are served medium. It comes with lettuce, cheese, and tomato on it. I also got the blue lemonade. You will like it if you like really sweet drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

The fish we order was cooked in burned grease omg I was so mad cause I drove from Fayetteville to get the food. They did have the red snapper fish. I was so disappointed. So I order flounder to be cooked in burned grease ugh! I could have burned the grease at home for this matter 🙄 never again will I go off of something on the internet.

The dawgs were good; they are big and hearty. My husband ordered the stuffy chili and he said it was ok- it didn’t come with the onions as pictured. I ordered the Georgia Hots sausage and it was good. The potato salad was delicious; the side of chili we ordered was not the best though.

Lets just say catch morning shift cause baby night shift is a tad bit young & ratchet and that definitely makes the food taste quit different. But the lady with the two braids in her hair sometimes and the female chef that be there together is amazing service phenomenal and food comes out looking just like the IG post. As y’all can tell we definitely scrub the ground with this meal. 10 outta 10 certain days morning crew only (I’m just saying) 💋
