Da Giacomo At Grand Hotel Tremezzo - Review - Bellagio - Lake Como - The Infatuation

"Don’t get annoyed when you hear an overabundance of English, Spanish, and French and feel like you’ve fallen prey to tourism. Da Giacomo at Grand Hotel Tremezzo is beloved by locals, too. The big reason is the glamorous-looking, seafood-centric Italian dishes that never disappoint. The fish may as well have been caught a minute before being placed in front of you, and the linguine served with lobster is perfectly al dente. Although the entrées are delicious, the raw seafood is the center stage standout, like tuna tartare served with Mediterranean guacamole and the big fresh fish mixed plate." - Anna Rahmanan

Now the restaurant Giacomo Al Lago. We were seated quickly. But our menus took forever. They were serving and attending other tables but after 10 minutes I had to go back to the check in area and ask the lady who seated us , who was suppose to give us the menus. So eventually it came. As you see in my pictures. The other ladies were given a place to set their handbags. One arrived after me. Mine was on the floor. So the beginning service was not good. My son ordered from the kids meal and they brought him an adult meal we had to send back. Now the food was delicious. Well prepared. They brought our seafood selections to look at and approve before they cook it for us. I wished their service matched the cook’s efforts. I had a much better experience with service at a different luxury hotel.

Hard to beat this atmosphere, absolutley stunning views of Lake Como. Truly romantic vibe. We shared a bottle of wine, started with the tuna tacos and each got our first pasta dishes in Como of Lobster Linguine and the Tortellini. Both were absolutely excellent. We grabbed drinks before and after dinner in the hotel.

Views, views, and views! The location of this restaurant is spot on and gorgeous. The staff were great and assisted us with guiding us through the menu. The food was ok. The branzino and linguine pasta with lobster were good. Again, it's not different from what you could get some placs else. Go there knowing you are there for the experience.

Lakeside Seafood🦐 Enjoy a casual yet chic setting. The drinks were the best part of the evening and the pasta was delicious. Oysters are overpriced but fresh. Overall we enjoyed our evening meal but would really suggest just for an afternoon drink with a view. Service is very slow so be patient and enjoy the moment

We had the pleasure of staying at GHT this past week. As for this restaurant, the true star is the view! My husband enjoyed his homemade tortellini, while my not-homemade-pasta was adequate. Why would a 5 star hotel in Lake Como not serve all homemade pastas? It is a travesty! The table next to us had a fish filleted table side- the server spilled their side dish all over the table settings and instead of giving them fresh linens, just put a dry napkin over the spill. Do better, Grand Hotel Tremezzo! Go for the view, not the food at Da Giacomo Al Lago!

Great view, great pastas, overpriced wine and fish. Good service. Worth a stop at this gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Suggest a drink vs a meal. But if you are having dinner go for the pastas and the menu seafood. Everything else done by weight is a ripoff. On the wines everything is overpriced. Stay away from the tourist trap priced Whispering Angel at 140 Euros. This is supermarket wine at connoisseur price. Some of the Italian wine options are still overpriced but better. The bar upstairs is dreadful. The piano man playing American selections, like Mandy and Purple Rain, while older lonely patrons sip small overpriced drinks. We tried to get him to play an Italian song…no luck. Worth a once in a lifetime stop and never again. This is a money extraction operation vs. an experience making place. Management: you will make more money being a bit more authentic vs this fake American experience.

My girlfriend and I first noticed this wonderful beachfront restaurant while on a boat tour in lake Como. So on whim, we decided to stop in for an Aperol spritz(or 3)… This lakefront gem is a must for anyone visiting the area. From the service to the food and atmosphere, everything was top notch. Pro Tip - Order the Linguine with clams. You will NOT be disappointed!

Absolutely rude and unprofessional staff! We walked up without reservation around lunch and at first the two staff asked us to see if we wanted to take a look at the menu first before being seated. After I said no we don’t need to, we’d like a table to eat, the one lady took a look at her screen for a moment and then says, sorry we don’t have any space to accommodate you. Everything is booked for today! Mind you, two men that came right behind us also didn’t have a reservation but were able to get seated. I just don’t understand how they were accepted and not us??? Did we just witness our first racism in Italy??? And yes, we’re dark complexion and the two men looked Italian or from somewhere in Europe.
