The 12 Best Hot Pot Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"If you crave spice with a side of more spice, this modern Sichuan spot in Fitzrovia is for you. Da Long Yi is a bright and airy place to gather with loved ones, celebrate something special, and eat your body weight in marbled wagyu beef slices, bouncy shrimp paste, crispy beef tripe, duck blood, and handmade tofu, before giving them a mouth-numbing Sichuan peppercorn and butter bath. Arm yourself with plenty of iced plum juice to combat the heat. And don’t forget the dipping sauces—the garlic, sesame oil, and a touch of vinegar combo is a game-changer." - angela hui

Da Long Yi Hot Pot offers one of the most authentic Sichuan-style hot pot experiences I’ve had in London. We ordered the set menu for two (£48.8, around £55 with service charge), and the value was very reasonable for the portion and quality. The spicy beef tallow broth was rich and aromatic, not watered down, with a proper numbing heat. The clear pork bone soup balanced it well and was light and comforting. Highlights included the snowflake fatty beef, which was thinly sliced and tender, and the chili-marinated beef, which had a nice pepper aroma without overpowering the meat. The fried egg was excellent — soaked up the broth perfectly — and the sweet potato noodles had great texture. Vegetables were fresh, sauces were self-serve and customizable, and everything tasted freshly prepared rather than pre-made. Clean environment, efficient service, and solid consistency. Definitely one of the better hot pot options in central London.

Absolutely Outstanding Hotpot Experience! Da Long Yi delivers a truly unforgettable hotpot feast with dishes that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The presentation of every ingredient is vibrant and eye-catching, the aroma of the broth fills the room the moment it arrives, and the flavors are rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The signature spicy broth is perfectly balanced—full of fragrance, heat, and layers of authentic Sichuan flavor. The ingredients are fresh, the portions generous, and the dipping sauces are well prepared. The atmosphere is lively, the décor stylish, and the service team is friendly and attentive. Whether you’re a spicy food lover or simply looking for a top-tier hotpot experience, Da Long Yi is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended for anyone craving a truly colorful, aromatic, and flavorful hotpot meal!

Da Long Yi Hot Pot is one of the best hot pot experiences I’ve had in London. The restaurant is dog-friendly, which is already a huge plus, and the atmosphere is lively and festive, especially during the Christmas season. We tried the Christmas special beef “windmill” platter, and it was amazing — beautifully presented, super tender, and perfect in the spicy broth. The boneless chicken feet were a surprise highlight as well; cooked in the spicy soup, they were soft, flavourful, and seriously addictive. Don’t skip the tomato soup base. Adding fried egg and youtiao (Chinese fried dough) was a game changer — they soak up the tomato broth perfectly and taste rich but not heavy. Drinks were also better than expected. The house-made drinks were refreshing, and you can order alcohol too. Strong Zero paired surprisingly well with hot pot, especially when things get very spicy. Overall, great food, good drinks, and a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend if you’re craving proper Sichuan hot pot in London — especially around Christmas.

We stumbled upon this place and I loved it and I’ll definitely be coming back. There were such a wide range of meats to choose from lots of different mushrooms and veggies to pick from and I’d highly recommend the Japanese style sausages. We also had the ham fried rice and it was absolutely delectable the spam melted in the mouth and it felt very homey. I’d highly recommend the pork bone soup. You have to get the pink lemonade it was the freshest lemonade I’ve had in a long time we had to go back for seconds to take for the journey home. The atmosphere was lovely the warm lighting really gave it a welcoming feel. We did book ahead it was slightly busy so I would recommend to book as we went on a Wednesday evening and it seemed to be very full. The service was excellent the waitress was very attentive and they refilled the soups and were very friendly. I also liked the complimentary sweets at the start I would highly recommend this place.

I had an amazing experience at Da Long Yi in London! The ingredients were super fresh, the broths were packed with flavour, and the service was really attentive. It’s definitely one of the better hot pot spots I’ve tried. One thing I’d recommend: if you don’t handle spice well, choose the light spice hotpot base. I usually enjoy spicy food, but their regular spice level was much hotter than I expected. The light spice still has great flavour without being overwhelming. Overall, an incredible meal and totally worth visiting—just choose your spice level wisely!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great hot pot with a truly pet-friendly setup. The beef pinwheel was high quality and delicious. We loved that they offer a clear broth section, which allowed us to cook plain beef safely for our dog — no seasoning at all. The staff were welcoming, ventilation was excellent, and our dog was comfortable the entire time. This place doesn’t just allow pets, it genuinely considers them. We’ll definitely be back.

Great selection of hotpot ingredients. All fresh. The sauce bar was complete. The soup base was excellent. The mild was already spicy for me. The meat was good with a great flavor but it wasn't as tender as what I'm used to compared to the other hotpot restaurants I go to.

Really enjoyed my meal at Da Long Yi London! The beef wheel, goose intestines, yam, and brown sugar mochi were all delicious. The tomato broth and butter spicy broth were super flavourful and paired perfectly with everything we ordered. Great service and a cosy atmosphere as well. Definitely a spot I’ll come back to for hotpot!
