"I read that the chef of West Town restaurant Tai Nang, Sittipat “Ong” Satangmongkol, pleaded guilty to trying to buy 24 dragon fish in violation of the federal Endangered Species Act and was sentenced to probation; he could have faced up to a year in jail after being charged last summer, according to the Sun-Times." - Daniel Gerzina

Google
Great food, I got the Rare Beef Pho. I’ve never had Pho and now it’s on my favorite restaurant List, i definitely recommend stopping by to try. I’m glad I had such a great experience for my first time trying. This place is very clean and well kept and the staff is super nice. 10/10

Google
Amazing Vietnamese food! The papaya salad with shrimp was fresh, tangy, and loaded with herbs and peanuts. Bún Bò Huế had a rich, spicy broth with generous beef and toppings. Mì Quảng was fragrant, colorful, and full of flavor. Generous portions, friendly service — we’ll be back!

Google
I travel for a living and get to try phò from all over the country. The search for the best bowl of chicken phò is over. Absolutely fantastic phò, friendly staff and surprisingly inexpensive. I look forward to coming back next time I'm in the area.

Google
Would not recommend, especially for the price. I ordered from them before and they put two pieces of tofu in my dish. I tried to give it a second chance and ordered again, specifically asking them to put a normal amount of tofu. They gave me 3 pieces, and barely any vegetables. The dish is cheaply made by stocking up on the carbs (noodles or rice) and providing little of the substance/nutrients. The food is not good enough either for this to be the case. These were the most dry, plain noodles I’ve ever had. There are so many other restaurants with much better options, similarly priced. Again, I just really wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for vegan/vegetarian where it’s difficult enough to get a good source of protein.

Google
This spot is quite busy but offers plenty of seating, making it easy to find a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal. The menu has many options, so there’s something for everyone. I tried the Bun Bo Hue soup, which was nice and satisfying 🍜. The Thai tea was also nice 🧋—though I personally prefer mine a bit sweeter, it was still enjoyable. Overall, a good experience!

Google
Went in to have lunch and I ordered the medium beef pho. Tasty broth, plenty of noodles, and a fair amount of fresh tasting meat. Prices seemed to be on point, but things are kind of high no matter where you go these days. I really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee that they gave me. The service was prompt friendly and was an excellent stop for lunch.

Google
I’ve been coming to this pho place for years and I don’t understand why they would change the broth recipe. I’ve noticed it for months now and it’s just not like it used to be. I always came here when I was sick because the soup made me feel better, but today it left me feeling regretful instead. The quality of the meat has gone down too and nothing has improved even after all this time. The service is still great, but the food isn’t what it once was. I’m extremely disappointed because this used to be my favorite spot. not.

Google
Da Nang Vietnamese is the best pho in Antioch. We have been coming here for years and it has always been consistently delicious. The broth is rich, flavorful, and comforting, and every dish we have tried has been fresh and satisfying. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes dining here a pleasure. They recently remodeled the dining area and it looks fantastic, bright, clean, and even more inviting than before. If you want authentic pho and Vietnamese food, this is the place. It has been our favorite spot for years and it only keeps getting better.

Lokahi M.

Yelp
The beef pho broth is the best that we've tried in the Bay Area yet! We always have to get an order of the pork spring rolls and the sliced beef plate. Everything is fresh and hot.

Yelp
I visited Da Nang after meeting Billy, the owner, in the ED (he's a Navy veteran with a hilariously sarcastic sense of humor). He talked so highly of his restaurant that I had to bring my family and WOW, he was right. The restaurant is clean, cozy and well-kept (even the bathroom!). The food was amazing , flavorful broth, tender meats, fresh ingredients and generous portions without being overwhelming. We loved every dish. The staffs are super friendly and Marcel took great care of us. What really touched me was Billy's kindness. I brought my small service dog, who prefers sitting on my lap but due to health rules he had to be on the floor. Billy literally offered to sit in his car with my dog so I could enjoy my meal. That level of hospitality is rare. Overall, this place has delicious food, great service and an owner who truly cares. I highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by Da Nang Vietnamese Restaurant and overall had a great experience with several solid dishes. We started with the 10-piece fried chicken wings with lemon pepper dipping sauce. The wings came out hot and crispy, with good flavor--nothing particularly unique, but definitely enjoyable. 8/10. My wife ordered the Charbroiled Pork Chops combo. She said the pork chops were a little dry, but still tasted good. 8/10. I ordered the Bún Riêu (Northern Style Specialty Noodle Soup), which I've been craving ever since my favorite version at Mangosteen Restaurant in San Francisco. I've tried many places since then and none have come close--until now. Da Nang's Bún Riêu tasted very similar to Mangosteen's, flavorful and delicious. My only complaint is that it was served a bit warm instead of piping hot, but the flavor was spot on. 9/10 for temperature. Taste is 10/10 We also shared the Bird's Nest (crispy egg noodles topped with sautéed beef and prawns). Another delicious dish. Next time, I want to try the version with calamari, fish balls, mock crab, and shrimp. 9/10. Lastly, we had the Chicken Fried Rice. The flavor was there, but the chicken itself was a bit dry. I'd try a different protein next time. 7/10. Overall, Da Nang Vietnamese Restaurant delivered great flavors and satisfying dishes, with a few small areas for improvement. We'll definitely be back to try more items!

Yelp
We decided to try this place because of the great reviews. When we arrived, it was completely full, so we took that as a good sign. Unfortunately, it took a while before anyone took our order, and the food took quite a long time to come out as well. The spring rolls were very small and the flavor wasn't good. The pork and shrimp tasted old / stale . The pho wasn't great either. We also never received our drinks, even though two servers told us they were on the way -- but they still ended up on the bill. I personally wouldn't go back, but this is just my experience. They were fully staffed; the issue seemed to be that everyone was scattered and unorganized. Some structure and communication would really help. The only person who checked in on us and was genuinely kind was an older gentleman working there.

Yelp
Ordered through Doordashed to be delivered in Brentwood. For the price and speed of delivery, definitely a fan of Da Nang. I OPTED for a beef vermicelli with fried roll add on and it was solid. I do wish they included some Sriracha packs and the fried rolls had a little more pepper in it, but overall everything was tasty.
google avatar

Jaime P.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place as it's close to my job and the employees are really nice. But the food here is nothing special. My bahn mi I ordered, the bread was flakey and fresh, but the chicken was dry. The spring rolls were tasty though, I would definitely get them again.
google avatar

OLGA M.

Yelp
Nice staff, but overall food quality has gone down. Especially the rice beef dishes, the beef seems reheated, overdone, oily and dry. I won't go back as often, maybe only for the pho. Hope the restaurant works on improving the quality.

Isabel B.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, and the staff has always been consistently kind and welcoming. The food is always great, and this is honestly one of my favorite places to treat myself. Today I noticed one of the employees go out of his way to help an elderly woman, he made sure her order was perfect and even took the time to ask about her vacation. I'm not sure if she was a regular, but the interaction was so wholesome. It just feels good to eat somewhere where the people genuinely care. This place is truly a gem.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way back from cherry picking in Brentwood. Originally someone had proposed a different Vietnamese restaurant, but I found this as an alternative that looked a little more authentic. Loved my bun rieu - the small size was perfect for me since I was somewhat stuffed with cherries. Pork and shrimp spring rolls were also good. A big miss was the mi quang - the noodles were stuck together :( but otherwise, we were pretty satisfied.

Yelp
Best pho ever! Their staff are always very sweet and attentive! Their beef pho is my go-to and the flavor is always consistent. 10/10!

Yelp
Was in town for my nephews graduation. We were still undecided on where we wanted to eat afterwards. Then it dawned on us "Da Nang....duh." Service: 10/10 Freshness of food: 10/10 Menu selection variety: 10/10 Flavor of food: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Affordability: 10/10 Parking is plentiful. We were seated pretty quickly for a party of 11. Been here quite a few times and I can confidently state that this place NEVER disappoints!
google avatar

Rick J.

Yelp
This is the only pho spot me and my family ever really go to. GG pho in Oakley is smackin too, but this spot never disappoints
google avatar

Alexander W.

Yelp
The spring rolls and noodle soup were very good and felt authentic. The meat in the spring roll is flavorful, and the Bun Rieu had a strong seafood taste. I liked the variety of different dishes here. The restaurant looked all right inside, nothing that stood out. Service was okay. You need to pay at the front, and it isn't very easy to flag down a waiter.
google avatar

Kyla M.

Yelp
This is the best pho; flavor and price wise that you can get in Antioch Brownwood or Oakley. They offer small and large sizes which is super convenient, especially if you don't normally eat big portions. Pho is not really good to take home so finishing it at the restaurant is the best move. We were seated very quickly, by friendly staff. The restaurant is really big, and can definitely accommodate for a bigger party. We were able to get hot water for my mom who gets cold quickly, which I appreciate. We started off with the summer rolls, which were a 10/10! We got the shrimp and pork rolls. The marinated pork had an addictive savory taste, and the shrimp was of good quality. Great balance of meat to greens ratio. My sister and I got the rare steak pho, which is always very consistently good. They're very generous with the meat, and the meat isn't too tough so it doesn't seem like it had freezer burn or anything. The soup could use more green onions, but there are plenty of white onions that were thinly sliced so I was satisfied. The broth has good flavor, and does not taste watered down, the noodles were not over or undercooked and it was just overall a great meal. My mother said the chicken pho was not as good as the beef pho, so take that into consideration when ordering. Seems like the beef broth was just overall a richer flavor.
google avatar

Claudia M.

Yelp
We have been coming here for pho for the last 3-4 years. We usually carry out, but we decided to dine-in today and tried dishes and drinks we don't normally order. Everything was delicious! Service is friendly, and pho was delicious as usual. There was plenty of seating inside, and each table had a buzzer to call for service. We'll be back for pho for sure, and we will likely be back to dine-in.
google avatar

Dimitri ..

Yelp
Easily the best pho spot in the East Bay, been coming here for years for the consistency. Everything is nice & fresh coupled with a lovely Ambiance and great service. The combination Pho or Bun Bo Hue with some Spring rolls is always a winner.
google avatar

Monica Bianca N.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place, because it included a few options that aren't normally included at Vietnamese restaurants. Because of this I really wanted to get the Mi Quang. I originally tried this in Vietnam last year, and I loved it, so I was excited to see that I could get it close by. Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan. This version was very sweet. I couldn't eat the whole thing. My husband got the Bun Bo Hue, and he said it was just okay. It seemed to be a popular place, so maybe I'll come back and try something different.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
So good! Our first time here. We loved the fresh pork and shrimp rolls. The star of the show was the beef broth. I usually order pho with chicken broth, but decided on beef broth after reading other reviews. It is excellent, different than other beef broth I've tasted. Ambiance is okay, not fancy. Service is good. Food comes up quick. We'll be back

Yanet S.

Yelp
The food here is ALWAYS amazing!! Can ever really seem to venture past the pho tho . I've tried a couple other dishes but the phooooooo out of this world the service is attentive. They make sure you don't need anything . And the vibe in the establishment is very relaxing cute new renovation. LOVE YOU GUYSSSS!!!
google avatar

Felisha T.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and I must say, they do have some of the best Pho in the area. This has been my go to and a further drive from where I live. It's definitely worth it. The service is always fast, whether you place it online or in store.
google avatar

Vi L.

Yelp
The beef was slightly hard. The nước mắm could be slightly saltier and spicier. Everything overall couldve been better. It's disappointing how much this place has declined in quality in terms of food and service. It was hard to get the waiters attention even though there were 3. It took us nearly 15 minutes to get water, and the food came out before the water. The food is pricey for what you get. There are better Vietnamese places, but I guess this place is convenient if this is the closest Vietnamese restaurant to you.

Jalon J J.

Yelp
Pho really good and appetizers. I have them deliver often and everything is always carefully and safely packaged
google avatar

Ronnel D.

Yelp
I just want to say that I've been a customer for a while now and I noticed their imperial egg rolls are no longer authentic. The egg rolls used to have taro, carrot, pork and some noodles, but now it's mostly noodles and some pork. The taste is no longer like how it used to be. It's now dry when taking a bite. I hope they see this review and bring back the old authentic recipe.
google avatar

Stephen R.

Yelp
The food here is amazing and reminds me of my girlfriends home cooking! The food is spectacular, there's airways a great selection of dishes to order from: Pho, Bahn Mi's, to even plate lunches that are warm, tasteful and ready in a reasonable amount of time. I always stop by here when I'm in the area to grab a bite or Bahn mi to go! Great Vietnamese comfort food for the area! I would love to see them open up their menus to some more traditional Vietnamese food like Bahn Xeo, Goi Cuon, Bun Bo Hue, or even Bahn cot! The service is always great AMD feels so house warming. Ambiance is mellow and chill and not to fancy. But make ups for the service which makes feel warming!

Yelp
I have tried every highly Pho restaurant in the East Bay. Too bad I don't live closer because this place is top notch. It's all about the beef broth and this place does not disappoint. I can also vouch for the spring rolls. A+++
google avatar

Sorayah H.

Yelp
Love this place! I've been eating here at least 3 times a week for a straight month! The rare beef pho is delicious,i like it the best out of the chicken and combo pho! I drive out 20 minutes just for it!

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get pho and bahn mi sandwiches. The flavor of the broth is so good and even worth getting on hot days! Can't get enough of the food here and looking forward to future visits.

Yelp
Legit PHO. The chicken soup so clean and delicious. This place is the real deal!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Robyn E.

Yelp
Superb customer service! Great product! Reasonable price! Highly recommend! Give them a look!

Yelp
Whether I go in for Pho or Bahn mi, DaNang always brings the best food with a kind smile from staff. It feels like home every time. My husband and I had our first date here. I will always love this place.

Rya D.

Yelp
I walked in and everything was neat and orderly, everyone was quiet and relaxed. I used the bathrooms and they were next level clean. The waiters were all really friendly and nice, and the food was very very delicious and scrumptious. This place definitely deserves five stars. I'm going to eat here every day.
google avatar

Cathryn D.

Yelp
We thought we would give this place a try, since it got good reviews. We ordered our go to's for take out...spring rolls and chicken curry. Spring rolls were generous portions, 3 long rolls, when cut in half provided 3 each for two people. However, the rolls lacked cilantro, which gave the them little flavor. The peanut sauce was good. The curry was a total disappointment. It was chock full of potatoes and carrots but literally only had 7 small pieces of chicken in the entire serving. The taste of the curry was bland, there was some heat (ordered medium heat) but no spices.
google avatar

Ranier G.

Yelp
Daniel have the BEST service we received in Contra Costa county! The food here is great and the ambiance is wonderfull. Add to this is the safest parking we can ever get with our equipment.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Friendly service and casual atmosphere. The food is the best Vietnamese I've had anywhere. I loved the pork rice plate. My wife enjoyed her veggie curry and the kids chicken pho was a hit with my daughter. The veggie spring rolls were awesome, so we can't wait to try some with pork/shrimp next time.

Brinda B.

Yelp
We ordered 3 sandwiches and 1 appetizer today, it was delicious! I just wish they would give non-lettuce kind of vegetables for the extra $1 of veggies, I like my sandwich with more mushrooms, radish, carrots, cilantro etc ., and 1 sandwich is not enough for a meal, more dishes are required to get a satisfying meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food. Our waitress was so accommodating to one of our friends who has a specialized diet. I chose this restaurant to meet another friend from Stockton. We were also helped by the co-owner, Ed or George?..anyway, he was delightful and made sure we were seated as soon as possible. Everything we ordered was delicious and I LOVE Vietnamese Pho and spring rolls.

Alexander 1.

Yelp
Excellent food and service, at a reasonable price. No wonder this is so highly rated.

Yelp
Da Nang Tourane Vietnamese is a my go to vietnamese restaurant that never disappoints. My spouse and I love a lot of items on the menu that we tend to jump around between them all. Some of out favorites are the grilled porkchop, five spice chicken, and curry chicken. We'll also swap our rice for their delicious garlic noodles or just order some on the side. The imperial rolls are also fantastic but we are normally too full and have leftovers that we only get them if we go out with friends. The pho is good, personally I want a little more star anise but I probably want more of star anise than most people. The restaurant has lots of tables, and I don't know if it's just the times we've gone, but we've never had to wait to be seated. The servers are always friendly and quick so I'm not surprised they can turn a table to get a new customer seated. Da Nang Tourane is a great local shop to support with delicious food that's keeps you coming back.

Yelp
My absolute favorite place to get Vietnamese food in the area. Food is always so fresh and I've never tried anything I don't like. Good sized portions and great prices. Some of our favorites are the bahn mi, the beef stew, and the spring rolls. But honestly I could eat something off of this menu for the rest of my life and be happy lol. Also takeout is always easy and fast! Best viet place hands down.
google avatar

Scotty L.

Yelp
Food tasted good. I ordered the three meat combination with rice and a salad. The place was busy, but there was a table for us. I would say most Vietnamese restaurants typically also serve broth with this. The fish sauce was a little sweet. The price was little more expensive than I thought. Most typical Vietnamese restaurants have this a couple dollars cheaper. I noticed this special charge extra money for stuff like eggs, bell sprouts, etc. so the basic with meat and noodles if you want other things it would cost extra.
google avatar

Angelica Q.

Yelp
Tasty and delicious. Chicken is soft and tender. Banh mi has perfect crunch and smokey, flavorful beef, perfect amount of veggies. Fast service. Reasonable price.

Yelp
I've DoorDashed from Da Nang Tourane Vietnamese in Antioch more times than I can count; it's my go-to spot whenever a pho craving hits on a weekday. My usual? Their large combination pho, which always hits the spot. Today, though, we decided to dine in for the first time, and it was a great experience all around. We ordered the special pho combination, chicken pho, and fried catfish. Their pho leans a bit sweeter than I'm used to, but it's still comforting and flavorful, especially with all the meats and herbs they include. One thing I love about this place is the sizing options--they offer small, medium, and large bowls, which is perfect depending on your appetite. Plus, they don't just stop at pho. Their menu is packed with variety: rice plate combos, Bún Bò Huế, Bún Riêu (crab tomato soup), and more. Definitely something for everyone. Service was friendly and fast, and everything about our dine-in visit was pleasant. I'll definitely keep coming back--whether it's at home or in the restaurant!
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
Decided to give this spot another shot - dine in this time. Glad we did! we got spring rolls, garlic noods, and beef pho - all of which were flavorful, perfect temp, and we inhaled our food. Happy that we have a pho spot in the neighborhood!

Yelp
This is my go to for Vietnamese food in the Bay Area, and I can say that everything they make is fabulous! I've been eating here since 2009, and the quality is consistent, they've updated the inside and it's such a little cute unassuming restaurant. Kim, Bill and family are the absolute nicest people you'll ever meet. They put a lot of care into this establishment and have built good relationships with their customers. They also used to be a long standing restaurant in Albany, but luckily for our community, relocated to Antioch. The food speaks for itself. My go to is their banh mi sandwiches, which is the best I have ever had. What's so good about it? The meat is grilled to perfection, so savory, just the right amount of veggies, and bread always the perfect texture. None of that hard bread, just exactly how you want it to taste - a little crunch on the outside, with a soft inside. Their pho broth has a unique, wonder taste. I absolutely love their mango and pork spring rolls. I could go on and on. They have so many choices, all phenomenal. I also love their drink selection. My family and friends have come here for special occasions, everyday meals, pick ups, you name it. The prices are so reasonable, with such good quality food, you really can't get better than this. You really need to come by and check it out for yourself. Support local family owned businesses, while eating high quality food.

Yelp
Nothing but great things to say about this place. Everything on the menu is good! I typically get a classic pho, wings , shrimp tempura, and Thai tea with boba. Service is very quick and friendly. Nice quiet calm ambiance ,can get busy around lunch time on the weekends. This is my go to local pho restaurant . They will not disappoint!

Yelp
Ordered DoorDash tonight and got a sandwich for inner with a side vegetable fried rice in case I didn't get full. My Banh Mi had Cha Lua (Vietnamese Pork Bologna)! First off, look at the packaging! I'm impressed, I've never seen a bag with that seal before. How thoughtful of them. I of course started with the Banh Mi. It looked great, as you can see. As stated earlier, I chose Cha Lua (Vietnamese pork bologna) for my meat. The bread was good, hard (as expected), but good. It started off with mainly bread but as I got closer to the middle of the sandwich, it was packed in with flavor! It was worth the scratched roof of my mouth! The side vegetable fried rice, at first glance, didn't look like much if im being honest. I didn't expect much based of how it looked. But once I had it, it had tons of flavor, too! I was hooked! I threw on some sriracha & it was over for the meal. Good food!

Yelp
Got a sandwich it was old chicken, I don't know whats going on but I ordered it fresh and went to pick it up.And it was pretty bad.I drove from Brentwood and I was totally disappointed.
google avatar

Ray T.

Yelp
Pho and bun ho hue weren't there worsts soups I had but theyre at the bottom. They lacked spices / flavor and tasted plain. Pho tasted like beef broth from a container with light seasoning thrown in. The "rare beef" was chewy and tough. If you're looking for pho, this is not the place. Service was bad. Tables seated after us had their orders taken first. When we went up to pay the bill, 3 waiters/waitresses next to us did not acknowledge us as we just stood there for awhile.

Yelp
I--I finally found the one yeah! My favorite Vietnamese restaurant named "Da Nang"-- in Antioch, CA. The flavor is amazing! Soups , Yummy! Service friendly welcoming staff, owner is very friendly. Healthy food, very accommodating staff, The menu is colorful with lots of pictures, the kind of --menu I prefer, because it is easier to chose from. Nice and safe area, relaxing atmosphere for family gatherings or other gatherings, they had one in Albany ca, and closet it, the owner had ---told me they had one in Antioch. 3 years later I had forgotten the name but not the flavor, So I searched in google for Vietnamese restaurant in Antioch, I saw a name that looked familiar, -- I took the bart train from Berkeley, all the way to Antioch train station and there, I took the --- --the 377 bus , and Bingo! 4 minutes walk and the owner looked at me and said ; " your face looks familiar" ha ha of course I said, I used to go to your restaurant in Albany California! Well, the rest is another story, I had soup! Vietnamese coffee, flan for dessert , and there was --- a speciality there, my friend like, the name is: "BA LA LOT" All of the plates have unique flavors, I totally rec
