Google
Excellent option if you are looking to enjoy great pasta. Prices are low and portions are big, the perfect match! Super high quality food, the carbonara is a must in this place. It might get a bit crowded and you will need to sit in shareable tables, but still comfortable. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely recommend it and will go back!

The food? Honey, let’s talk. Every plate arrived looking like it was styled by Vogue. I almost didn’t want to eat it — but my stomach said “method acting, let’s go.” The flavors slapped (in a classy way), and whoever made the sauce clearly knows witchcraft. The drinks? Dangerous. Two cocktails in and I was suddenly fluent in compliments and poor decisions. Service? Flawless. My waiter called me “darling” and I’ve been emotionally attached ever since. Minus one star because the dessert was so good it made me question my life choices. How dare you, OSCAR, make my diet plan look like a bad joke?

Google
This is the BEST La spegnetti frutti di mare I have ever had, 10 out of 10. Prima di tutto, you can tell from the delicate plating, which add extra “visual credit”before actually tasting it. Secondo, the texture is just perfect for me(sorry to many soft preferred people, spegnetti needs to be like this ;) And the frutti di mare is generous(gamberi, vongole, mussels, squid)! Alla fine, the pomodorini and the parsley add extra layer of it, I mean they are sooo freshly baked. Sono molto contenta 😁 (allow me to comment as a enthusiastic foodie Update: Okay there is an after story!! When I got to pay the bill, my Apple Pay is somehow not working (then I realized it’s the Poste ITALIA’s problem) , i didn’t take the credit card on me, and Amico 👦 @Anas who at the counter trusted me and let me go OUTSIDE to find a way to pay, I was really appreciated and thank you Anas!

Google
Definitely needs reservations. Opens at 19:30-no earlier. There is pasta, steak, fish options. No pizza. It was an amazing dinner. We ordered only pasta: home-made tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms cream, tagliatelle with salmon, tagliatelle al pomodoro, lasagna. Everything was delicious and very big portions. Buffalo mozzarella caprese salad is the best in town. One little critique is maybe they can make their own bread. The bread tastes like plain bakery white bread.🍞

This local restaurant, located a little outside the city center, serves simple food. It's worth trying if you have the time; you won't be disappointed.

Google
The food was delicious. I ordered the Gnocchi al Oscar and my wife ordered the Spaghetti al Cabonara. The wait for the food was long but it was worth it. The Gnocchi was soft and pillowy while the Cabonara was delicious and creamy. The food was incredible. The servings were big which made out first meal in Italy one to remember Also a huge shout out to the boss lady doing the rounds. She was killing it all night

Eintanz M.

Google
The food was excellente!! Highly recommended. Service takes bit longer but it was all worth it as it was one of our best pastas we had in Italy.

Google
We had dinner at Da Oscar on Saturday night and absolutely loved everything — the food was delicious and the portions very generous (the ravioli was a masterpiece), the atmosphere lively, and the service outstanding! Everyone was so kind and welcoming, especially one of the waiters who made our evening even more special with his humor and warmth. It’s one of those places that stay in your memory for all the right reasons. Highly recommended — the waiter even gave me one of the restaurant’s placemats as a fun little souvenir! I would revisit for sure!

Yelp
By far, the BEST risotto I have ever had. Saffron wishes and Parmesan dreams. Creamy, smooth, delicious...."Like Buttah".

Yelp
Wow!! After reading all the amazing reviews we decided we had to try it. We went in at little past 9pm with no reservations and got in fortunately!! Our server was a lovely young lady, very kind, quick, and helpful! The food is to DIE FOR!! The carbonara was a 10/10 for my partner and I. We have tried many and this one has the best flavor and perfect texture. The aperol spritz was so refreshing and crisp. Really enjoyed everything about this place. Thanks so much!!

Yelp
We loved our dinner at Da Oscars! We had a bottle of wine, pasta, the veil, and tiramisu. Everything was amazing. It was so tasty and the service was great. At one point someone came in and played music on the accordion! Great prices, great portions, great atmosphere! 10/10 experience
google avatar

Yelp
If you are a carbonara fan, visiting this local spot is a must! We tried other dishes, but this was the favorite. Come hungry and order modestly, because the portions are large! This is coming from man that can scrape some plates clean. The woman running the place is amazing, well respected by the locals, and makes an effort to accommodate everyone. We were lucky enough to sneak in, but a reservation is HIGHLY recommended. We did see some people turned away, so plan in advance!
google avatar

Sacha B.

Yelp
All the portions are huge so either be starving or order accordingly. I got the meat platter as an appetizer but I'd definitely suggest doing the meat AND cheese platter. The flavors are just better together. The service was amazing. Everyone jumped in to do everything so it was all smooth sailing for a constantly busy restaurant. And lastly, it's more of a casual dining experience so don't be surprised if you're sharing a table with others.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
To start off I'd suggest making a reservation if you're coming during peak lunch or dinner hours. I watched them turn away dozens of people without a reservation. I ordered the penne a la Oscar which was a vodka penne. It was good but maybe a bit too Al dente for me. But this is Italy I guess haha. Service was great. It was quite busy I will say. Location is prime. Would recommend.
google avatar

Lety C.

Yelp
Best of the best. Lasagna to die for. Carbonara delicious. Service fast. Best cantina vibe.
google avatar

Robby D.

Yelp
I got the Veil Parmigiana and it was pretty dry and didn't come with any pasta. I guess everything is al cart. When I asked the guy for some sauce or something he offered me ketchup lol. Nice place but the communication wasn't so great. I'm sure the other dishes were good but the Veil by itself was not that great.
google avatar

Mel B.

Yelp
Food and service excellent. I will be back before I leave. I had the Gnocchi, my wife another pasta dish. Noisy - as most Italian restaurants.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
They for us in and were fun and the food was amazing. They make their own pasta sauce which is unreal!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and staff. We loved the location and atmosphere. Can't wait to return and try it all again.

Yelp
We found this spot when we were coming through Milan and we were thankful we did. One of our best meals in all of Italy. The service was great and we did end up making a reservation which I think is probably almost a necessity most nights as they were pretty busy!
google avatar

Rob I.

Yelp
Some of the best carbonara North of Rome! Absolutely magnificent plate. Generous portions. You need to make a reservation here. Also ordered the grilled platter. It was delicious, but impossible to finish. The carbonara is really filling! Nice crème brûlée for dessert and an excellent grappa to finish things off. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Milan.

Rojer T.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner here 2 nights on a trip to Milan. The second night because we enjoyed the first so much. The food and drinks are great! They are friendly but please be aware that the place gets busy! Try to make a reservation.

Yelp
Best meal in Italy! Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here a couple of weeks ago. Our meals were all so flavorful and delicious, service was great as well.
google avatar

Aliya M.

Yelp
My boyfriend brought me here as our first restaurant in Milan. It remains my favorite restaurant in all of the cities we travelled to. It was authentic (not touristy) Italian food, and most of the people dining here were Italian. This is the best pasta I've ever had. I ordered the Tagliatelle Al Ragú Andy boyfriend ordered the Penne Al Ragú. The prices are great for a restaurant in Milan. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Gnocchi and this is the best gnocchi I've ever had. I'm literally still in the restaurant right now and had to immediately leave a review. It brought a tear to my eye.
google avatar

Jose Max L.

Yelp
It was the first restaurant we tried as soon as we got into Milan. Everything was great. It was a group of 7 of us and food was amazing, service was great as well. And the environment was very calm it was right before the aperitivo hour in the area so it was really nice
google avatar

Cas B.

Yelp
Amazing! Authentic food, great price, live Italian music. Mainly locals and a mix of tourists. Highly recommend if you're in Milan.

Alex J.

Yelp
We had a tuff time trying to pick a good Italian restraunt in Milan. So happy that we choose this place, it was the best authentic Italian food that we ate during our time in Milan. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Alexander D.

Yelp
This is by far our favorite restaurant from our trip hands down in our time in Milan, Florence, and Naples! We will say get a reservation for sure as it is packed and have a concierge possibly do it if you have credit cards with that benefit because they can be hard to reach. The environment is really intimate and more authentic with tons of people enjoying wine. The prices are extremely affordable especially for Milan. We enjoyed amazing pasta and service ! Highly recommend getting penne Al Ragu or lasagna. Also if it's nice outside the outdoor dining looked beautiful.
google avatar

Jess H.

Yelp
My best friend and I came for the night and really wanted to eat here- we were able to walk in and get a 9:30 seating. The dining room is hopping, chaotic and very homey. Lots of locals eat here which is always a good sign. We had the buratta caprese, the tagliatelle with salmon and spaghetti carbonara- all of which were incredible. Huge portions. They also had a live accordion player which was the most Italian thing ever. From beginning to end, it made our short Milan stay so memorable.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
Literally the best pasta I've ever tasted. The service wasn't good, the atmosphere wasn't good, they have Mussolini quotes on the walls (an indicator that you know it's gonna be good Italian food), but if you are here to eat...it's the best you'll ever taste.
google avatar

Yelp
I literally almost died to eat here. I had read a review that Da Oscar wouldn't seat them because they were 10 minutes late to their reservation. Our train from Venice to Milan was 10 minutes delayed and with our walking distance, we would have been late that we were rushing. I mistaken one street as one way and almost got hit by a car and it didn't phase me until I got to the restaurant but that was a close call for sure. When we arrived, we had to wait a little for our table since it was packed with locals eating lunch. This place has one of the most Yelp reviews in Milan and yet, the majority of the crowd were locals, so you know that it's legit. Our reservation was at 1:30PM that by the time we sat, we were one of the last customers for the lunch hour. We ordered all of the most popular dishes - salmon tagliatelle, carbonara, and gnocchi oscar. Not sure why, but I've been little sensitive to seafood dishes on our trip that I did not like the salmon dish. While I love carbonara, the sauce dried up quickly that it wasn't too pleasant, but for the gnocchi, it was the best that I've had that I couldn't stop eating it although I was too full. While the other 2 dishes were not my favorite, the pasta texture was seriously the best I've had anywhere, even within Italy - Rome, Venice, Florence, etc. Pasta portions are large that we had no room for tiramisu. Loved the bread basket and the olives that they give you in the beginning of the meal as well. For this place, reservation is a must and hard to come by. Glad that I survived to experience this place. Importance in Europe, Da Oscar has a bathroom. While clean, the toilet had no toilet seat cover that it was uncomforable.
google avatar

Camille P.

Yelp
Da Oscar is a must in Milan! Sit outside and enjoy some of Italy's best pasta! The vodka sauce is their specialty and I would order it again and again. Vaccine cards required but otherwise delicious! Pasta is also dente and you can tell the sauce is homemade, nothing out if a jar could have that much authentic flavor. Amazing!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Our time in Milan was limited... we had to do lots of quick Yelp / Google searches for food. It was challenging to find places that were open, allowed walk-ins or had available reservations. That became a struggle almost everywhere, including DaOscar. However, we did manage to get in, very late for dinner one night. Da Oscar is quite moderate in my rating of food. I would say I'm being generous with a 4-star but want to give them the benefit of the doubt. The staff was friendly but seemingly very stressed. They were short at our table however, did provide the minimum amount of service to keep the meal rolling. Wine was fine. No different than American wine. I was less than impressed. It's very much so a bit of a tourist trap. Prices were too high. Hopefully they can adjust to improve.

Yelp
We arrived at Milan really late, and this was place was near our hotel. It is also on my list to try. We jammed over right away. Hours online says they close at 12am, and we got there at 1130. We walked in and it was still full of people, and still a good amt of seats. However, the dude behind the counter threw his two hands up and was like "we are closed with an oppsies face" We did come back the next day right when they open with no reservations. I highly recommend making reservations bc as it opens, the place gets constantly full. We ordered the carbonara and ravioli. The portions were hugeeee! I almost died trying to finish. I would say it's shareable if you go with people. You def don't need your own order of carbonara. Overall, I would say it's good!
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was fine but we were sat outside and told there was no room inside. Plenty of walk-ins without reservations went in with very short wait times. Guess it depends on who you ask.
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
Perhaps my favorite restaurant in the world. Make sure to make a reservation. The food, portions, and vibe are to die for. The veal Milanese and Pene alla Oscar are among the finest dishes I've ever eaten. Secret tip: you can order half portions. The decor and house wine are a bit "Mussolini curious," but that's all part of the nutty charm of this culinary gem.
google avatar

Ann L.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Milan, and probably some of the best pasta we ate, ever. It sets a pretty high bar because every subsequent restaurant we frequented we compared back to Da Oscar. Pros: - HUGE portions for affordable prices (~10€ per pasta), we could barely finish our 2 plates - Dishes were both super fresh, packed with flavor, and perfectly cooked. The tagliatelle was silky and light, carbonara was perfectly al dente. Tip: Go early (and be aware of opening times) as Da Oscar is very popular and you can end up waiting a while for a table.

Yelp
Fantastico!! This place is truly one of a kind Italian restaurant in the heart of Milan. If you do not have a reservation here, forget about it. The restaurant was packed with people, shoulder to shoulder. The atmosphere here was very homey and everyone was having a great time. My wife and I had reservations at 9:30 and the hostess seated us 5 minutes later, which was great given how packed the restaurant was. While we waited for the servers to take our order, a couple of older gentlemen came into the crowded restaurant and started playing the trumpet and accordion. You would think that the servers would get upset because they had limited space to move around but they allowed them to play classical Italian tunes and the crowd was loving it. Italians started singing along and everyone donated a little something at the end. It was a great experience. As for the menu, we stuck to the pastas. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and my wife ordered the spaghetti with clams in clam sauce. The portions of each dish was massive. I was struggling to even finish mine. The carbonara was unlike anything I've had before. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and the creaminess of the carbonara sauce was rich and full of flavor. This was enhanced with bits of pancetta. My wife loved her dish also but could not finish. I ended up finishing it for her but couldn't enjoy it was much because I was already full. I suggest anyone visiting Milan to check this place out. You get a great Italian experience and the pastas are amazing, not to mention cheap! Each dish was between €10 to €15. Just make sure you make a reservation prior to visiting.

Yelp
Ughhh!! I'm having a hard time even giving this restaurant 1 Star. Horrible!! Horrible!! Horrible!! We came here from a long walk from Duomo. We read the reviews and we were excited to try this restaurant. I'm not sure the education or background of the owner or manager that rudely stated, " we are booked today" and walked away, but it clearly shows the lack of professionalism and customer service. She never asked if we had a reservation. How sad, that people can be so NASTY. The funny thing is that she said she was fully booked, however, there were plenty of empty seats. I will NEVER give this restaurant my time, money or energy. On another note, I stopped by this cute little bistro down the street and the service was stellar and the food was excellent. Thank you for turning us away Da Oscar, we had found a gem right down the street and had a wonderful time.
google avatar

Asma A.

Yelp
If you're looking for a family owned, chaotic yet exciting, authentic Italian dining experience - go here! The place was packed even for a Monday night and it made total sense. You MUST order the penne alla Oscar - it's similar to penne vodka but with a little kick/spice. It was absolutely delicious. They didn't have anything gluten free in terms of pasta but they did have seafood. The tables are very small and you'll likely end up talking to your neighbors/making friends.
google avatar

Sanovia J.

Yelp
Love this place! Def a treat when we were in Italy! May be some of the best pasta I've had in awhile but hey i am in Milan! The steak was cooked pretty good but the lasagna man oh man it was everything i could have imagined! Oozing with cheese and bursting with a meat sauce I can honestly say my belly was satisfied. They also give you a healthy portion of wine for cheap as well! Try them out!
google avatar

Eric J.

Yelp
Food was ok. Did not meet up to the hype. Would probably not come back. The seating is really crowded and they kept reusing the same glass for my wife's drink.
google avatar

Yelp
High reviews on yelp so we decided to check it out. Got their at 8:30pm and the place looked full. We didn't have an rsvp but would be willing to wait. We tried placing our name on the waitlist only to be told by they were completely full and not accepting anymore customers. We waited outside trying to look for a different restaurant but noticed a party of 6 and 2 being accepted and added into their restaurant. Bummer and sad that this goes on here too.

Yelp
Great food, nice service. Ambiance needs work but the fresh tasting food makes up for it.

Yelp
Best food I've had in Milano. I've been living here for a month and this is the only place I can truly say is 10/10

Yelp
Absolutely amazing Italian food. Must order the carbonara! We came without a reservation on Friday night around 8. And we were able to be sat. Gets very busy here, but the food is absolutely to die for. Probably the best pasta in Milan!

Yelp
Every bit worth the return! Last night my husband and I tried to come here for dinner. The woman who greeted us apologized and said they were full for the night. We were super bummed... after seeing reviews and pictures we were dying to eat the carbonara. She was helping a couple that had a reservation (I read this on a few blogs - recommended or in some restaurants necessary to make a reservation for dinner) as she was passing, she kept apologizing while we were outside trying to figure out something else. We happened to be nearby today and decided we should either try to make it for lunch or make a reservation for dinner. My husband called and got us a reservation at 1pm for lunch! Woohoo! I am so happy that we brought my in-laws because we loved every bit of it. My in-laws ordered a seafood risotto (for 2), my husband some giant steak that came with potatoes... it was recommended by our server (& get this - it was the super sweet woman from last night!) & I had the AMAZING carbonara. The food was delicious!!! And the restaurant was so fun and felt like you were being served by a family in their dining room. We ordered a bottle of red Chianti, waters were brought, fresh bread, olives, some quiche like thing, & later some fresh salami while we waited. Then the main courses arrived! (Remember you are on Italian time - so enjoy the environment & 3+ course style meal!) We did our best to make a dent in the plates in front of us, considering we are all 4 light eaters. After the meal she slowly cleared our plates as we accepted defeat. They boxed our left overs & we got 1 cappuccino & a sorbet. Not only did the food blow us away but the experience as well. So being a New Yorker I'm used to $200-300+ for that kind of dinner. Nope - around €100. If ever in Milan again, I'll be dying to return!

S L.

Yelp
Nice service but sadly experienced some of the worst food poisoning following my meal there.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place!! First time here and everything from the service to the food and atmosphere was super nice. If you have the chance, visit this place! We had the Frutti di Mare and Penne alla Oscar, and it was so good! Will come back in a heart beat!
google avatar

Kaylee V.

Yelp
I came here a while back, I'm glad to finally have the time to review this restaurant! One of the BEST dining experiences I have ever had. Everything I tried was amazing and the meat sauce with the ravioli was so flavorful and delicious. The tiramisu was heavenly and a great way to top off the meal. The owner, Oscar, was a joy to meet! Very friendly and loves all of his customers! He gave us chocolate and coffee to take back on our flight home! It's torture to still crave their food and I live in another country haha.

Yelp
Da Oscar gets brownie points for being a family run joint. Oscar, his wife and his daughter (Maria) run this restaurant as follows: Maria is the Field Marshal who works the front of house, alternating between herding hopeful diners in whilst seating those with reservations; while her parents run the back of house. That said, Oscar and his wife do come out to greet regulars and to serve plates as well. All of this adds together to give a sense of warmth and family closeness to the tightly packed restaurant. My partner made the perfect observation: Everyone we saw at Da Oscar was happy, either from the food, the company, or both. We came here on two nights because our experience and the food was that good. Our first night, we did not have a reservation, yet Maria managed to shuffle things around and squeezed us in. A lot of family run restaurants tend to be a mild train wreck when it comes to managing seatings. Not here. I felt like a customer in a Diner Dash game - efficiently slotted in in order to maximize happiness. As diners came and went, the seats were barely empty long enough for them to cool off such was Maria's ability to manage the inventory. The food here is rustic, home-style cooking. You will not leave Da Oscar hungry, and you will certainly be happy. Our first night, we ordered the salmon carpaccio and two spaghetti dishes (carbonara and seafood). The dishes here are huge. We could have easily shared one plate if we were light eaters. Our second night, we ordered the grilles rib-eye steak and the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. This is the part where Da Oscar shines - Maria remembered us from the previous night, and not only did she give us a premium seat (corner table with aisle access), our steak definitely left the chopping block weighing closer to 700g than the listed 500g. When does that ever happen?! The tagliatelle packed incredible flavor, and the chunks of fresh porcini mushroom will leave you craving for more (we actually ordered another portion to take home). The homemade tiramisu was good, but I would also save space and walk up a block on Corso Buenos Aires to Grom and indulge in some first-rate gelato after letting your Da Oscar meal settle a little. In short, go here! (but make reservations!) Toilet rating: 5/5 stars for being clean and spacious.
google avatar

Martha D.

Yelp
Da Oscar is Da Bomb!!! We were lucky to get a spot for two at this bustling restaurant, so make sure you make a reservation if you can! The seating area is a little small if you're sharing a big table with a lot of people. We could hear conversations left and right to us but we didnt mind. Hands down our favorite pasta place in all of Italy. Milan really impressed us with their food. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and my partner ordered the gnocchi. We bot absolutely loved it. The carbonara had bacon bits that was the perfect addition to the egg based sauce. My partner loves gnocchi, and he said it was his favorite gnocchi of all time. It was chewy and the red sauce was flavorful. The portions here are also big enough to fill you and the prices are cheap so theres nothing really to complain about here!
google avatar

Sylvan Y.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant I've had in Italy! Oh my god, papa Oscar is such a good guys walking and greeting everyone in the restaurant. The Tagliatelle, oh my dear, is a must-order, you can't miss that. As well as the gnocchi, if you got a big stomach, lol They have really big plates, if you order Cotoletta or Filetto, it looks so good when I saw so many natives order that. It opens until Midnight but usually the kitchen closes at 11pm. Get prepared for a great family-style ristorante!

Yelp
So, working in an area without Yelp for the last few months (tough, I know!) I was very relieved to find restaurant recommendations during my trip to Milan. I found this spot and was very excited based on the reviews - and, yes, it does live up to the expectations! Located a street or two off of the main drag, Da Oscar is a small family-owned one-room restaurant where we were greeted with big smiles and Italian greetings from the larger than life chef. He even came around and had all the diners try his new creation: a tender meatball in a dark, creamy sauce. Very good! The entire menu is on the wall and most main dishes will run from 10 euros (pastas) to a bit less than 20 euros (meats/fish). I decided to go for something with the Da Oscar special sauce - as I read about it from previous reviews. I decided on the Penne alla Oscar and my brother got the ravioli (cheese). Both were generous portions and both were divine. The pasta was just slightly al dente and boy was there a lot of it! I had enough for a meal the next day. The sauce was tomato-y, creamy, and had just the right amount of kick. It went perfectly with the half-bottle of Chianti we decided to order. The wines are sold by the bottle only - but they give you a number of half-bottle options as well (again, all very affordable). I wish we had a bit of room for dessert - but alas, we were stuffed. I'd highly recommend this spot before it is completely taken over by tourists (we did have to sit next to two very typical "Americans" yelling quite loudly and in appropriately for the small, cozy atmosphere). Anyway - a great, authentic, delicious find in Milan!

Yelp
Followed Yelp review and found this place nearby our hotel and still open by the time we finished checking in. We arrive at 10.45 and the place was still crowded. Ordered spaghetti carbonara...it was good. We are not too crazy about creamy pasta but even then I managed to finished 1/2 big serving by myself. The bacon was so so good. DH ordered fettuccini frutti di mare and it was the BOMB. Our boys shared an order of spaghetti carbonara and they had no problem finishing it off :) to top it off, we all shared tiramisu. All in all, excellent food and service. Very tempted to go back for our 2nd dinner in Milano
