"Da Rae Won has a full menu of Korean staples made in the traditional way. In the background of any meal, you’ll hear a thump-thump-thump: that’s noodles being made, slapping against the counter. A favorite here is the kkampoongi, a spicy garlic fried chicken with stir fried veggies." - Hanna Nakano

This restaurant is both delicious and has a nice atmosphere! We ordered the sweet and sour Korean fried chicken, the black noodles, the fried rice, and the Korean noodle seafood soup. The noodles are all extremely fresh, you can actually hear the pounding of the noodles if you're close enough to the wall! I would go here again. Everything tasted hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious!

Popular casual spot for Korean food. Known for the hand pulled noodles, fried chicken, and dumplings. Thumbs up to all of the above! Romantic? Not at all! Clean? Yes! Family-friendly? Heck yes. Awesome food? No doubt. Would be back in a heartbeat for the kinds of food I normally would steer clear of and those noodles seem to disappear into another dimension. There's no way we ate that much yet the bowl was nearly empty. I can't tell you exactly why they're remarkable but they are. Great texture, good sauce. Not like OMG I am eating them incessantly but in fact that seems to be what happened. So, yes, OMG I had to restrain myself from eating noodles so I didn't make a bad decision. Warning: there is a different Korean place in the same plaza. We went in and sat down and the menu didn't seem right on the noodle front so we ran out like we were skipping out on a bill though we hadn't ordered anything. So don't do that and check the name before committing to a table. Though I don't regret the switch. Sorry, Korean BBQ place. It wasn't meant to be and I'm not even ashamed about our questionable behavior. Because those noodles were worth it.* *Noodle making requires a lot of audible slapping of the dough behind darkened glass. It's simultaneously authentic and difficult to see. And the slapping wears thin so perhaps it's also a great way for them to make sure the tables keep turning over. Either way, it's a marginally entertaining feature and motivation to GTF on your way once you're sated.

Definitely a hidden gem. The food here is absolutely wonderful. Service is great and the atmosphere is lovely too. Highly recommend

Google
My favorite restaurant to eat at lunch. I work a few miles away. They make the noodles fresh and the food comes out pretty quick so I get back to work. Never been disappointed food always comes out the same way. Super authentic. These are my favorite dishes I’ve eaten over the last few years. Staff here is very nice and treats you well. Even if you don’t speak Korean or know the food well. First time I ate here I just got what my friends got. I have brought lots of friend and coworkers since. You can see and hear the noodles being made in the back and that is so cool. Never seen that before. They just did a renovation as well. Also great for to go if you don’t have time to eat here. Portions are the same and you still get the kimchi appetizer. I get to go a lot too.

Had a great time eating Korean food here, atmosphere was great, place was very clean, bathroom was nice, a lot of space~ Food was good, but my girl’s noodles were still a part raw, but taste wise, everything was good.

Google
Our go-to place for fresh, handmade noodle dishes! Favorites are the jjajangmyeon and jjampong! Rich in flavor, soups are hearty and warms you right up. We make the 1.5 hour drive for their food!

Google
This is my favorite Korean-Chinese restaurant in DMV. I believe all of the noodle dishes are hand made to order (You can actually hear chef working the dough through the tinted window in the middle of the restaurant). My go-to dishes are noodles with fresh black bean sauce and fried pork with sweet and sour sauce (Probably the best dish in this place). Their fried chicken with garlic sauce and combination seafood with vegetable are also really delicious. Every time visited this place, staffs were always been friendly and attentive. This place is in kinda sketchy neighborhood and parking lot can be little tight during the weekend. Please be aware that they are closed on Monday and Sunday. They also serve some Korean alcoholic beverages too. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Amazing Chinese-Korean location! The place is huge, and the servers are nice and attentive. We started with complimentary pickled radish with raw onion and hoisin. We loved everything we got. The Lollipop Chicken was so crispy and sweet... also very sticky! It's so fried that you could literally bite the bone LOL. The Fried Garlic Shrimp was also so good! Basically the shrimp version fo the lollipop chicken. These 2 items you can't find at other places. The fried pork with sweet and sour sauce (tang su yuk) is a classic for this kind of cuisine. I recommend having the sauce on the side so you can keep the pork crispy and then dip in the sauce! The hand pulled noodles with black bean sauce (jajangmyeon) are also a classic! Just as good as any other Chinese-Korean place. You can see through the window and hear the loud thuds of them making the noodles!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Da Rae Won, and overall, it was a delightful experience that left me wanting more. First and foremost, I have to highlight the lollipop chicken--it was hands down the best thing we had. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, these little bites of heaven were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you visit, this dish is an absolute must-try. The japchae was another standout. The flavors were rich and authentic, with just the right balance of sweetness and savoriness. My only critique is that it could use a bit more meat to complement the noodles and vegetables. Nonetheless, it was a satisfying dish that I would order again. We also tried the seafood noodle soup. While the freshly made hand-pulled noodles were a real treat--chewy and delicious--the broth itself was a bit bland for my taste. It lacked the depth and intensity of flavor that I was hoping for. However, the quality of the noodles made up for it to some extent, and I still enjoyed the dish. One thing to note about Da Rae Won is that it is a very busy restaurant. Expect wait times, especially during peak hours. The bustling atmosphere is a testament to the popularity and quality of the food, but it's something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. Despite the minor hiccups, the overall experience was very positive. The lollipop chicken alone is worth a return trip, and I'm eager to try more dishes from their extensive menu. If you're in the Beltsville area and looking for a place that offers delicious Korean cuisine, Da Rae Won is definitely worth a visit. I will certainly be back for more of that amazing lollipop chicken!

Yelp
You can't go wrong at this spot. Walking in, you're met with newly renovated walls and the place looks good! The staff are friendly and say hi and let you sit where you want. I always enjoy a corner table. After you order the food, you get a plate of radishes and sauce which is always a good way to start! Use the vinegar and dry sauce on top of the onions and it's SOOOO good. Lollipop Chicken, HUGE plate of food. Crispy, not too much sauce. Comes out piping hot so be careful. Fried rice, I ate the whole plate...it was a huge portion so don't judge me. Crispy pork was good because I got the sauce on the side so you can dip it. It was heavy on the breading but I still enjoyed it!

Yelp
Many folks pointed me to this place for the best Jja Jang Myeon in the DMV. While I did come for the JJa Jang Myeon, I stayed for the Tangsuyuk. Wow, the best sweet & sour pork I've ever had. Double fried, crunchy, but also still tender and fresh on the inside. You can tell everything at this place is made-to-order. The owner has changed, but they've informed me that it is the same chefs working back there for the last two decades! Only negative here is that Beltsville is about an hour away from me. Why are you so far!?!?

Jennie A.

Yelp
GET THE FRIED SHRIMP Yes the lollipop chicken got the OG drip but that fried shrimp.. she leaves NO crumbs. Highly recommend if you want to shake things up. And ofc you must order the jajangmyung to go with your fried dish. Our service was slow that day, not sure the hold up but also didn't care because it's all worth the wait. The vibe is family friendly so bring all your friends and kids and dive into the most savory delicious Korean meal!

Julia S.

Yelp
Wow. I came on a Saturday morning at 11:15 where I was about the fourth party there. By 11:30, there so many more entering... Service was quick and efficient. I had the jjajangmyon and I absolutely agree with other reviewers in their assessment that the sauce was slightly lacking. If was a bit bland in comparison to what I'm used to. The noodles however, were top notch. Pro tip: if you can't decide between jjajangmyon and jjamppong, ask for a side bowl of jjamppong soup and they will just charge you $1.50. WIN! The soup hit the spot.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to grab a meal....when in the Laurel, MD area. The service here is awesome, they are really attentive. The food is great with my favorite being the Garlic Soy Fried Chicken! The lollipop style fried chicken wings are tender, juicy and the garlic sauce is very flavorful. I tend to order mine spicy to get more a savory taste over the sweet profile these wings have, but nonetheless.....they are soooo good!! Another favorite, is the fried pork dumplings which are huge and taste great (I forgot to take a picture). Also, try the Jjampong Noodle soup. They make the noodles fresh and this dish does not disappoint. The noodles are also super fresh and chewy....like I like it. And, the broth especially for the seafood soups are delicious!! Highly recommend! Recommended dishes The jJamppong soup is delicious & has a unique flavor. The Fried Dumpling & Fried Chicken Wings in Garlic Sauce is a winner too.

Yelp
Da Rae Won is a community favorite. I remember going to this Chinese-Korean restaurant consistently from highschool-college and I still visit whenever I am back in the area. The staff is very sweet, and the restaurant is tidy. Other than their classic jjajangmyeon or black bean noodles and jjampong spicy seafood noodle, I recommend their soy garlic chicken! The restaurant also have fresh side dishes and usually refill them upon request!

Santita N.

Yelp
The star of the show has got to be their freshly pulled noodles. Wow! Perfectly chewy and flavorful. Paired with jajang black bean sauce, everything simply melts together in perfect goodness. The popcorn chicken is another star of the show. Though the meat tastes a little "chicken-y," overall it was delicious and the crunch was perfect. The sauce was tangy and was a favorite for the kids too. Service and ambiance are great for a casual dining. Would totally return if we're in the area again!

Maryann R.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food. I got the #6 extra spicy seafood soup. Compared to #5 the standard spicy, it is on another level. Bright red. ALMOST too hot, but because I am a spice lover, I thought it was perfect. Minus one star for closing early. They close at 9pm, but at 8:20pm they were hassling us and tried to turn us away. Just say you close at 8!!! Eyeroll. We ended up taking a few bites of food and having to take everything home because of this. By 9pm the place was empty. Tip: When you have to take the soup to-go, take the trouble and separate the noodles. They're SO soggy otherwise, if you plan to eat the soup the next day. :-)

Yelp
After my first visit, I returned to this place twice more, but it didn't live up to my memories, so I stopped going. However, my friend informed me that the place had been remodeled. So, I decided to give it another try, but unfortunately, it wasn't a good decision. The place had indeed been remodeled; it seemed more open and clean, and the staff were friendly. However, the food we ordered wasn't to my liking. As a Korean, I grew up with Korean-Chinese cuisine, but the Gan Jja Jang lacked flavor and was very bland. Similarly, the fried rice didn't have much flavor. The shrimp GGan Pung gi tasted okay, but it tasted like shrimp tempura with additional layers of batter. While I understand that some people may enjoy the flavors, unfortunately, they didn't suit my palate.

Yelp
Best to-go place for Korean Chinese food in Beltsville. Super close to UMCP campus, lots of customers around dinner/weekend time. Newly revonated, cute interior. The jjajangmyun is a classic and delicious. Large heaping serving of black bean handmade noodles. Jjampong is my go-to dish. Spicy seafood broth with noodles. They add mushrooms, squid, shrimp, etc. Can't go wrong with these two dishes, love sharing with my friends so we can enjoy two hearty noodle dishes. HIGHLY recommend the shareable dishes like the lollipop chicken or the chicken with sauce poured on top. SO YUMMY. love the fried shrimp dish. Def recommend.

Sharmane G.

Yelp
I got the #1 gan Jjajang which was Noodle With Pork & Black Bean Sauce (Boiled Style) And #27 Tangsooyuk Fried Pork With Sweet & Sour Sauce Honestly food was solid especially the chewy wheat noodles! They're handmade and you can creepily watch them make it in the tinted window . I was not a fan of the noodle sauce however ...I think I should have gotten the one with seafood and veggies because I did not think the pork was that good. Lacked some dimension. I liked the tangsooyuk though! It was crispy and airy, the sweet and sour sauce complements it nicely. The service was speedy. The vibe is pretty relaxed casual. It was a bit confusing because the restaurant sign is in Korean and it took me a second to realize it was the right place. Definitely I would come back for the noodles , but I'm ordering something else next time!

Yelp
Great Korean food selection, fast service and friendly staff. Restaurant is in semi residential area in Beltsville MD. Seats maybe 40-50 people max, you can order to go, pickup or sit down(mainly self-seating). Ordered the dumplings, fried boneless chicken, and fried shrimp, with homemade rice noodles(gabchae), and fried rice. Everything tasted great, fresh and my leftovers even had reheat potential. Will be back as the price is great for the portion size.

Bella R.

Yelp
Very cool vibes. I liked how the noodles were made fresh and you could hear the food being made. The restaurant's staff were nice too. The portions are larger than you think so keep that in mind if you intend on getting a single serving for yourself. A bit pricey but recommended if you are in the area.

Yelp
Came back again for some takeout. Happy to see this restaurant thriving and they had also done some interior upgrades to modernize the place. Certain menu items definitely got more expensive (see menu pics) but the staples (Jajang mien) and their seafood noodle soup are still reasonably priced around $11. I ordered the seafood noodle soup. Food took maybe around 20 mins to come out for a weekday lunch but it was nice and hot. I like that they separated the fresh hand made noodles from the soup and also gave a small contain of yellow radish. Soup contains two pieces of shrimp (no peeled), several pieces of beef, quid, and carrots. Noodles were cooked just right and soaked up the flavorful soup well. Unfortunately the still only accept Mastercard/Visa and cash.

Yelp
Came to Da Rae Won last night for dinner around 7:45pm. Upon entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The place displayed cleanliness and organization, making for a pleasant first impression. We were promptly seated by the friendly servers who added to the overall positive atmosphere. The aesthetically pleasing setup was enhanced by a unique window where you could observe the careful process of making noodles, which I found fascinating. The portion sizes at Da Rae Won are no joke - they are HUGE! Each dish could easily be shared among four people, making it an excellent choice for group dining. The fried chicken with garlic sauce stole the show, resembling a fancier version of orange chicken and simply falling off the bone with flavor. The fried beef with garlic sauce offered a different yet equally enjoyable texture and taste, particularly when paired with white rice. The pork fried dumplings were generously stuffed. I recommend opting for a 4-piece portion if you're getting them as a side. The noodles with fresh black bean sauce were delicious, although it's worth noting that this dish may not be suitable for those who aren't fans of beans (as the flavor is STRONG). One thing to keep in mind is that despite their closing time at 9, they may not serve you if you arrive after 8:30 pm or later.

Yelp
Have been coming here for years and have decided to leave a review today since they've renovated! The place is MUCH nicer in terms of ambiance and so glad they renovated the whole place - loving the brick wall design and more modern vibe :) We came in around 4pm Saturday and it was PACKED! The place is popping :) the service was pretty good, we waited about 20-25 minutes for our food and was getting a liiiitle hungry but the server apologized for the wait when she came out with the food and the acknowledgment made it all better~ FOOD! We ordered Black bean noodle (다래짜장), Seafood noodle soup (삼선짬뽕), and fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce (양념 치킨) and they were all good! I believe they make their own noodle, so the noodles are truly bomb! We typically get fried chicken with garlic sauce (깐풍기) but today we decided to try something new - personally like the garlic sauce better but my husband really liked the sweet and sour sauce! P.S. recommend getting a 다래짜장 vs 간짜장 (different type of black bean noodle) because while I typically like 간짜장 better, this place makes 다래짜장 better (aka get the cheap version). Overall - highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I think the management has changed and the food isn't the same. The food is still pretty good but it's definitely as delicious. Staff has changed too. So had the decor.

Jung P.

Yelp
We went there on a Saturday at 2 pm and it was still packed. You could see the silhouette of a man thumping the dough to stretch the noodles. The service was prompt as they cleared and cleaned the tables with efficiency. Our orders were taken quickly and the food came out quickly. The first things that came out were the beef sweet and sour with the sauce on the side. It looked great but was really lacking any flavor. The next item were the shrimp in garlic sauce. The shrimps were huge but came out with no sauce causing me to believe she thought we wanted the plain fried shrimp? Whatever the case was, this was also devoid of any flavor as well. But then the noodles, which this house is known for, came out. The spicy seafood champong was worth the hype. The portion is generous and the flavors were dancing inside my mouth. All the previous sins, including the sparse banchan, were all forgiven. The seafood jajangmyun was exceptional as well. We will definitely visit this place again but will probably skip the appetizers and go straight for the noodle dishes!

Jimmy L.

Yelp
The wife wanted to venture out to Beltsville for some fresh noodles with black bean sauce, and some lollipop fried chicken wings. It was really good, but in rush hour traffic and driving interstate from NoVA made for a very long trip. Also, the restaurant didn't seem to be situated in a nice part of town. I wish they would open up a NoVA location.

Candace F.

Yelp
We had an awesome experience here. What we ordered: -spicy seafood soup 7/10 -black bean noodles with pork wok style 8/10 -seafood fried rice 8.5/10 -chicken lollipops 9/10 -white grape soju Food: it was extremely good. I liked the banchan that comes out first (kimchi radish, raw white onion, pickled radish, and black bean sauce) such a nice pairing with the food. Everything we had was amazing but the chicken lollipops were by far the best thing we had. This was our time trying the black bean noodles, and i think it's somewhat of an acquired taste but we enjoyed it. The seafood fried rice was a nice pairing to all of other very flavorful food. Service: 10/10. the service was outstanding. Our serve was patient with us and answered all of our questions. She even gave us great recommendations. We ordered way too much food, so our serve helped us to pack it up and even separated the soup broth from noddles so that we could enjoy it later. Bonus: you can watch the guys making the hand pulled noodles in the window. What a sight to see! Overall: 10/10 we had a great experience and we will be back.

Yelp
For years this has been the local go-to restaurant for JaJangMyun, and they are still going strong. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Whether you go with classic JaJangMyun or Jampong, or more innovative seafood dishes or fried pork or chicken, it always hits the spot. It's also a solid space with decent seating. Highly recommend!

Khiem H.

Yelp
The dumpling was good but nothing to write home about. The sweet and sour pork is not crispy enough. I also got the black bean noodles, it's pretty average as well. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. Hopefully the food would be better the next time I visit.

Kerlin M.

Yelp
I love visiting this shopping center in Beltsville. There is something for everyone. At Da Rae Won, I usually get the fried chicken wings with soy garlic and spicy sauce. It's SO GOOD. The chicken is crispy and the sauce is so good. I have never sat down but I went today on a Friday and it was completely packed with all kinds of people. I definitely suggest coming here! You can go to Manila Market for dessert!

Ailun H.

Yelp
My friends and I ate an early dinner here last Saturday (6/24) before the Ed Sheeran concert. One of my friends went to UMD for college and used to eat here from time to time. The pricing here is fair compared to what I'm used to in Nova. All of us walked out paying less than 20.00 for our food after tax and tip, super full and satisfied from the delicious food. FRIED CHICKEN WITH VEGE & SOY SAUCE - 19.95 The lollipop chickens here were so good!! I think each other comes with 15 or 16 lollipops and it's been fried to perfection. I burnt the roof of my mouth while eating these but it was worth it. The glaze was delicious and the skin was so crispy. The chicken itself was tender and delicious and I loved the vegetables on the side. I'd recommend getting one to share with a few others. NOODLE WITH FRESH PORK & BLACK BEAN SAUCE (WOK FRIED STYLE) - 9.95 One of the best JJMs I've eaten. The made the black bean sauce fresh with a lot of wok flavor. There are lots of onions, more than cabbage or pork, which I didn't love. The noodles were hand-pulled and fresh (you can see the chef making it in the back) and the sauce in general was nice and savory. It wasn't hard to kill the whole bowl. I'd definitely recommend trying the JJM here as it was delicious and fresh and very comforting. Delicious and worth a try - give Da Rae Won a chance if you're in the area looking for a good Korean restaurant.

jakelin s.

Yelp
I recently dined at Da Rae Won and had a mixed experience. The sweet chicken lollipops and the amazing chicken poppers with veggies were definite highlights, providing a delightful taste and generous portions. The mild crowd and great service, with explanations for new dishes, added to the positive atmosphere. However, the black noodles lacked flavor, and a downside was the absence of portion sizes on the menu, catching us by surprise when the plates arrived. Despite some hiccups, the unique offerings and shareable portions which those alone shown fed 3 people and easily could feed up to 5 people make it worth considering for a visit.

Kay P.

Yelp
Revamped edition!! Only been here a couple of times but really enjoyed the food here! Feels like a typical Korean restaurant but has the unique sounds of the noodles banging and being made! Pretty quick service but food may take a tad bit (freshness and heat guaranteed). Mid-level noise. Their friend dumplings are crunchy and not as greasy as other places! They also have plenty of meat/filling inside. Love their kkang poongi or lollipop chicken because of its sweet, crispy, and how easy it is to pull the meat off the bone! (But it definitely could use a kick - usually kkang poongi tend to be spicier). Their fried rice was also pretty good - nothing to complain about. Their jam pong (spicy side soup) really hit the spot and had a nice heat to it with plenty of contents within the soup (despite it being a side). The ggan jjang came with plenty of sauce and the noodles texture was delicious! They are also generous on the sides and will refill when needed! Overall, with good fair pricing, quality of the noodles, and the general tasty food, would recommend 8/10!

Tamaria D.

Yelp
Favorite thing I get from here is the lollipop chicken. Still good and I absolutely will always get this. Chicken flavored and crunchy. Glass noodles are usually pretty good. Except this meal I got last was a bit strange. Needed more meat! To much rice and noodles. But other then that. I enjoy this cuisine

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Quick review, but wanted to say that Da Rae Won is legit Korean Chinese cuisine deliciousness! Anyone who comes here have to try their #1 item which is their black bean noodles with pork and veggies (darae jjajangmyun)! Under $10 at that. As someone who lived in Korea, the food here brings back memories. Their spicy seafood noodle soup (jjamppong), sweet and sour fried pork (tangsuyuk) and fried dumplings are all must try items from here. Also, to get the full Korean Chinese food experience if that makes sense. I feel like whatever you order and eat from here is delicious and on point!

Emily H.

Yelp
My absolute favorite spot for jjajangmyeon! My family and I have come here multiple times throughout the years (since 10+ years ago?) and the quality of food has stayed the same. Every table is served with pickled yellow radish, onions, radish kimchi, and jjajang sauce. Jjajangmyeon 10/10 - noodles are made from scratch (sometimes you'll hear the sound of them beating/kneading the dough) -- perfectly chewy - lots of sauce with pork, onions, and other vegetables - delicious as it gets - think I usually get the Gahn Jjajang which has more onions but both are great choices Lollipop Chicken 10/10 - so so crispy and savory - sweet sauce - my mouth is watering thinking about it Service is always quick and kind here! I'm never waiting long for food. This restaurant will always have a homey feel to it for me.

Tommy H.

Yelp
GO HERE!!! This place is one of those hidden gem in which you won't find or know unless you're local. I've going here for 2 years now and I can say that this place is one of the best or maybe the best jajangmyeon place to go to in the DMV. Their chicken garlic and jajangmyeon is like the perfect value and taste combo you can get here!

Abe K.

Yelp
Service, food, ambience is all very homey and what you'd expect from a Korean restaurant. With a completely full restaurant, you have all the waiters pacing back and forth tending to each need but they do it well here. Food is excellent, even the jjamppong to-go tasted amazing. This is my favorite DMV spot to get jjajangmyun. I had the honor of sitting next to the most complainy woman in her 50s who was an apparent jjajangmyun connoisseur who confidently claimed her jjajangmyun was the wrong order and that it tasted different and bland. When the waiter confirmed that it was the right order, she conceded and ate her meal. When she and her partner paid and left, they didn't just eat her meal. They did the kitchen staff a favor and cleaned their plates and bowls. If this anecdote doesn't speak to how noms this place is, i dont know what will.

Yeechen P.

Yelp
It always feels good to bring family to eat inside! Fried shrimps , lollipop chicken are all crispy yummy! The food service is fast, every dish comes just on time like it!

Lina T.

Yelp
I came to Da Rae Won Restaurant on a Saturday evening as a party of four adults and two kids. The parking lot is really tight and shared with multiple retailers. We were lucky enough to grab a decent parking spot. We were even luckier to be seated immediately. Once we were seated the line literally started going out the door for both takeout and dining in. I had heard great things about this spot so I was very excited to try their menu. We ordered multiple dishes to share as a table. Small side dishes are given at no charge, we were given different radishes. - Noodle with Pork & Black Bean Sauce - I have not had this dish in so long! This felt like a warm, homemade, comfort meal. The sauce to noodle portion was perfect. I wish it included a little more pork, but overall I would definitely order this again. I wish I lived closer because I would order this all the time if I did :) - Fried Rice with Shrimp & Vegetable - A basic dish done well. Perfect for kids that are picky eaters, you can even substitute out the shrimp for pork or beef. - Fried Chicken Wing with Garlic Sauce - These are one of the best fried chicken wings I have ever had. The skin was fried to a perfect crisp and the sauce ratio was just right so that it added flavor without making the fried out layer mushy. This is a must try along with the Noodle with Pork & Black Bean Sauce for anyone coming here! Overall, the my experience at the restaurant was a positive one. The food was delicious, staff consistently checked on us, refilled our drinks and the kids were able to enjoy the food in a relaxed, casual setting. There were multiple other families there making this feel like a very family friendly restaurant. I would definitely make the trip back out to the area just to have another meal here :)

Valery L.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this place for some Korean food! The portions sizes are good for the price. Went for lunch on a weekday and the service was pretty quick. You can even see the chefs making the noodles in the back.

Fabian M.

Yelp
2nd time coming here with more people. Lollipop chicken was still crispy sweet and delicious. Spicy pork and mapo tofu had similar flavors. It wasn't really that spicy. It was also overloaded with broccoli, if you are into that. The JamPong (seafood soup) broth was probably the best in the DMV, highly recommend that. Ja Ja Mian was standard. There are some better ones in VA. MANDU dumplings were also some of the best in the dmv. Pieces were huge and stuffed with pork. If you need family size meals to share this is definitely the place to take your loved ones. Service was fast and efficient. Place looks very clean as well.

Yelp
Saw this restaurant on TikTok so of course I had to pull up. Came in Saturday night and was seated immediately. It was busy so I was happy to get a seat. I ordered the noodle with the pork and black bean, fried dumplings, and noodle with vegetables and spicy seafood soup. I also ordered the fried beef with sweet and sour sauce but they forgot to place the order. Honesty I didn't mind because the amount of noodles they gave us was overwhelming. I didn't think the bowls were going to be that big for $10-$12 so I was impressed by the portion size. If you come here definitely come super hungry - they are not shy with the portions. The menu had so much stuff I would love to try and will definitely be back.

Yelp
So good! Drove 30 mins to get take out from here and it was worth it. I was craving jajangmyun and read that this was the best place to get it. I ordered the #3 seafood jajangmyun, #5 champong, and #30 garlic fried chicken. The jajangmyun was delicious, I needed more sauce haha. I think the noodles lost some of their bounce since I probably ate it like an hour after they were ready, so I'm curious to try it fresh dining in the store. Still, they were soft and a good balance with the rest of the dish. There were A LOT of onions, which added a nice crunch; but I would've liked to see more veggies; and even a soft potato. I came for the jajangmyun, but honestly the champong was the star of the show. The broth is super flavorful, and the perfect amount of spice for me. If you like spicy foods though, I'd recommend getting it extra spicy. The soup is packed with seafood, so you're getting a good value for less than $15. The fried chicken was also addicting-- sweet, savory, tender, and crispy. I loved how easy it was to eat since it was cut into a lollipop style. The chicken is still even good as leftovers in the microwave.

Yelp
Food was great as usual. Loved the black bean noodles and the fried chicken wing with garlic sauce. I ususally always order the fried chicken because theirs is the best in the area. We had multiple servers and they great! Luckily we got there before the rush so we didn't have to wait for a table.

Yelp
Delicious food! We came around 7 on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy so we were able to get seated quite quickly. Once we sat down though, the line grew huge quite quickly. We ordered the beef bulgogi and spicy seafood noodle soup. The bulgogi came out first, almost 10-15 minutes before the noodles which we thought was a bit odd. However, it was nicely seasoned and very flavorful! I really liked the plentiful amount of green onions with it as well. The jjampong came out piping hot and fresh, which took a while. The soup was actually quite spicy; almost a little too much. However, the noodles were perfectly chewy and the seafood tasted great too. Service did take a while as I mentioned, but I also loved the complimentary radish they serve with the dishes. A good spot to check out for the classic korean/chinese dishes!

Yelp
Da Rae Won is usually the go-to place for Korean-Chinese for many, especially for their jajangmyun and for their ggangpoongi. Unfortunately, the last few visits have left us leaving unsatisfied and/or disappointed, as the consistency is just not there. While you can hear the pounding and see through the dark-colored glass of individuals making the housemade noodles, the execution in terms of the dishes where the noodles are used is a hit-or-miss. Recently, it has been a miss, as both our gan jajangs didn't have the strong wok-fried taste, but it was more diluted and watered down. I personally am a favorite of onions, but for others, it can be a bit overwhelming that so much of it is being used in the sauce. The ggangpoongi can be overly cooked and chewy, or it can be juicy with the right amount of crispiness of the exterior. Sometimes, there's a bit of a lack of sauce, whereas other times, there's a perfect amount where all the chicken lollipops are covered; the canned veggie medley that's used can vary in terms of amount on a visit. Staff has always been welcoming and pretty efficient. We've always had our waters and banchans refilled without requesting. Note that for larger parties with reservations, all members will need to be present before being seated, per the restaurant's policy. There was a group that was throwing a tantrum for not being seated when 3/4 of their group wasn't present. Kind of embarrassing. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +inconsistent noodles +jajangmyun can be watered down, even for the gan jajangs +ggangpoongi can be overcooked +friendly and efficient service +plenty of parking in shared plaza lot

Yelp
Food was fantastic and the staff was very attentive to our needs. Fried chicken was on point and the black bean noodle with pork was just amazing. Definitely recommend this spot.

Yelp
Da Rae Won us known most for their popsicle chicken. I've been here multiple times and always get their chicken and classic noodle dish. I've also tried their dumplings, which were equally delicious. I haven't deviated besides that, but I'm sure their other dishes are just as good. The restaurant is kind of hidden behind a gas station, and since it's near a college town, I never really see non-college people. However, it's definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant to eat at lunch. I work a few miles away. They make the noodles fresh and the food comes out pretty quick so I get back to work. Never been disappointed food always comes out the same way. Super authentic. These are my favorite dishes I've eaten over the last few years. Staff here is very nice and treats you well. Even if you don't speak Korean or know the food well. First time I ate here I just got what my friends got. I have brought lots of friend and coworkers since. You can see and hear the noodles being made in the back and that is so cool. Never seen that before. They just did a renovation as well. Also great for to go if you don't have time to eat here. Portions are the same and you still get the kimchi appetizer. I get to go a lot too.

Yelp
Da Rae Won will forever be one of my FAVORITE restaurants in the entire DMV area. My parents *always* ask me to bring them here when they visit because they think they have the best jjajangmyun in MD...and IMHO, I think they do as well, lol SO, here's what you need to get: No 1 ($8.99): Da Rae Jjajang aka noodle with pork & black bean sauce. The noodles are made fresh in house (SO GOOD), and you get a BIG bowl for $8.99. I like to add chili powder on top, and it's the best. No 21 ($16.99 // $22.99): Beef Tangsuyuk aka fried beef with sweet and sour sauce. They have this in med & large, and this is one of my mom's favorite dishes. Ask for sauce on the side so you can take it home if you have leftovers. Just throw your beef in the oven/air fryer and heat up the sauce for dipping. YUM. No 30 ($21.99): Kkanpunggi aka fried chicken wing with garlic sauce. I LOVE this dish so much! It's so crispy, and the outside is caramelized beautifully. The sauce has a nice kick to it, and it's just so flavorful. 10/10 recommend. NOT FEATURED BUT RECOMMENDED (by my parents ) No 16 ($28.99): Yoosamsuel aka shredded sea cucumber with sauteed shrimp & pork. TBH I wasn't a huge fan of this growing up, but my family LOVES it. Now that I'm older, i enjoy it *much* more, and it's delish with rice! TBH, I would get 21 or 30 over this any day, BUT I def will load up my plate if it's on the table This was my first time in since the remodel, and the place looks SO nice! Glad to see that they're thriving and doing well

Yelp
Came here for lunch and it did not disappoint. The noodles had the perfect amount of chew and were fresh. Seafood soup was absolutely amazing and filled with seafood. Service was great! Got sat down quickly and food came out fast! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Place is clean and modern. Food was quick and freshly made! The staff were friendly and helpful. The sweet and sour shrimp and shrimp with garlic sauce were crisp and the sauce was on point, yum!!! The Jjambong and jajjangmyun noodles were chewy and good! Lotsa sauce with the jjajjangmyun, it was so good! We devoured the food so fast, I forgot to take more pictures of the food! I will definitely go back again soon! Great food!

Yelp
Went here about a month ago and I was blown away by how good this place is. Don't be drawn away by the unassuming exterior, because once you walk in the doors, the inside is open, clean, and inviting. This place is an absolute gem and a hole in the wall. I got the #1 Jjajang and the #4 Jjampong and both were delicious. Fair warning, the Jjampong has a pretty spicy kick to it that left me sweating but wanting more with every bite. The portion sizes were huge and the prices were super reasonable, and I'd love to come back at some point and try some of their other menu items. Great place to grab a quick bite of Korean-Chinese fusion food, highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Yelp
This place has the whole package! To start off, right as you enter the restaurant and get seated, you can see the chefs make the noodle straight from scratch through the window, which is a performance in itself! It is so entertaining and amazing to see how they create the noodles with such precision. The service was great as well and had no complaints there. As for the food, everything tasted create especially the lollipop chicken! I could honestly eat that for days and not get sick of it. The black bean noodles pretty much sounds just how it tastes, so if you like black beans then you'll enjoy the dish. My favorite was the spicy seafood soup because the noodles in soup were absolutely delicious and the broth was full of flavor. Although side note, the soup did taste very peppery, instead of spicy so that's one thing that I did not expect from the dish, but overall I still enjoyed it! Overall, I would highly recommend checking out this place for Korean food!
