Best Pizza in Denver (2025)
Da Sauce

Kathrina McMahon

Google
I’m originally from Chicago, and we’ve been on this mission to find a legit pizza spot in Denver. Honestly, every place we tried before this has failed… until we found The Sauce. This is hands-down the best Chicago-style pizza and Italian beef we’ve had since moving here. It literally reminds us of home. The owner is super friendly and clearly cares about what he’s serving. He even told us he makes his own Italian sausage, which is amazing — you can taste the quality. And the Italian beef? Better than the usual chains back in Chicago. That’s saying a lot. If you’re craving real Chicago flavors, this place is it. Highly, highly recommend.

Google
I give it 5 stars because its all made from scratch yet it has that Chicago pizza taste, I recommend owner have carryout family specials starting at $20 because $29.74 may be a bit much for a large mushroom pizza for most ppl and it gives you a way to sell more items! Has Vitners chips from Chicago! Pool table! Indoor/outdoor dining! Bar!

Google
I was super excited to try this place as I love Chicago Food and all the review pictures look great! I ordered delivery. I got 2 cheese pizzas, pictured, both were so thin they were dry and the pizzas were burnt. They both were also under sauced. The Sausage and Pepperoni pizza was sauced, baked normal and seemed fine.

I grew up in Chicago and lived there for over 30 years and when I saw that this place offered true Chicago tavern style pizza, I had to give it a shot and it did not disappoint. What was also awesome was finding out that the owner and his kids are from my hometown of mundelein and I can definitely see a little inspiration from our local tavern style place Bill's pub.

Google
I had pizza from a different Chicago style pizza place which prompted this review. I feel very strongly about da sauce. I am from Chicago and I do live next door which makes this all very convenient. I literally do not eat pizza anywhere else in Denver. The owners are fantastic and the pizza is perfectly crispy and cracker thin. They make their own giardinera. It’s absolutely perfect and everyone deserves to enjoy this work of art.

Google
Wanted to love it, but came up incredible short. First of, $30 for a medium two topping thin crust pizza is absurd. Then, somehow undercooking the crust while simultaneously burning the cheese is a feat I've never seen. But taking 50 minutes to do so, made it even worse. I'd love to tell you how the garlic cheesy bread was, but they thought appetizers should come out after the pizza. Ordered an Old Style, but after 10 minutes of waiting for that, I had to go up to the bar to get it. Sold us a fountain drink, but the soda fountain doesn't work...

I’m from Chicago and have been wanting to try this place for almost a year. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by Jandy. She personally made our pizza and hot sticks with real Gardinera! It honestly brought a tear to my eye. It smelled, looked and tasted just like family pizza night back in Chicago. We also had a sample of the LSD (Lake Shore Drive) lemon supreme icecream… so good. Will be back to try to Italian beef! I even took it home in a Chicago style bag. Also so easy to park there’s a whole garage right in back!

Google
FINALLY!!!! A real Chicago Pizza in Colorado. I'm from Chicago and most of us don't eat deep dish or stuffed pizza on the regular. We eat thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients, flavorful sauce and for me that Chicago style sausage that is just delicious. Well, this place nailed it! Worth the drive from Fort Collins! We also had a beef sandwich which was on point. I'm used to Al's beef in Chicago, which is amazing, but I was impressed with how similar it was-in fact-it was less greasy which I liked. Support this place-it's the real deal!!

Yelp
Traveling into Denver and wanted some pizza. We found this place near our hotel. The pizza we got was a pepperoni and mushroom. The sauce they use on their pizza and used to serve with their cheesy bread is excellent!! You can taste the quality and that it's home made. The thin, crispy crust is to die for. The music playing when we arrive took me back to my teen and early 20's. It's is a chill place to hangout and enjoy good pizza. We also meet the owner. She is kind, and friendly. Talking with her is like a friend you know for years. The place is a must try!

Yelp
I'm Greek, born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, so when I moved to Denver I've been on the hunt for a real Chicago-style pizza spot. I roll up to Da Sauce after calling in an order. Over the phone, the guy hits me with the price and asks me straight up, "You from Chicago?" I get there, he takes one look and goes, "Are you the guy from Chicago? Sounds like you like your pizza cooked all the way." That's when I knew this place might actually get it. The vibe is authentic, no nonsense. The crust? Golden, crispy, and solid enough to hold everything without falling apart. The sauce? Tangy with that bold kick that makes you want another bite. Cheese was melted into perfection -- stretchy, gooey, but not drowning the pie. It's the kind of balance that tells you they care about their craft. For Denver, this is as close to Chicago pizza love as I've found. Not just food -- it's an experience. Verdict: If you're a Chicago transplant craving that tavern style pizza, look no further. Da Sauce delivers.

Yelp
The food is authentic Chicago style. Thin, crispy pizza crust & homemade sauce. Drink menu is good. Lots of drink specials. I especially like the pool table & retro gaming upstairs. Staff is friendly! Plus there is FREE parking! That's rare in LoDo.

Yelp
I'm mean it was... edible HAHA. Got ripped off at the bar. The scary man was so mean he kept glaring at me.

Brandy A.

Yelp
The ice cream here is amazing. We flew out for the weekend and wanted to try some local restaurants. So happy we found this place. They make seasonal ice cream. We got Kandy Apple and Pumpkin Spice Oreo. Absolutely delicious! The owners are incredibly kind and personable too. Will return and will definitely recommend. Very cool vibe.

Yelp
Went late last night. Pizza was full of grease, undercooked. Got a few drinks from the bar and service was very rude. I believe I was overcharged bigly for my drinks and pizza.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
The pizza was excellent. Good sauce, good toppings and great crust. It was even better cold the next morning.

Michael M.

Yelp
2nd time here and everything is just so good every time. I tried the cheese garlic bread and it's delicious local bread, loaded with so much gooey cheese and their home made sauce on the side

Yelp
Excellent Chicago Tavern style pizza. Don't miss it. Took a work group and we had so much fun. The owner was fun - he roasted us Chicago style and we loved it. But the pizza was outstanding and great representation of Chicago style thin crust.

Yelp
I think pizza is my love language, and John and Jandee got it right. Medium pizza (da north side) and a regular beef, two of us killed it with no leftovers while we sat at the bar and talked with staff. You like tavern style pizza? This is it in Denver. Can't wait to be back for the homemade ice cream.

Yelp
Da sauce? More like Da Bomb. That's some chi-town love right there. I'm full and happy. 5 stars.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
Just got charged $10 for this pour of red. I did say something and he poured a couple drops more. I suggest you go off website menu and pour and maybe a measuring cup. I paid 12$ for a wine sample

Yelp
My family and I had a chance to visit Da Sauce today after highly anticipating the pizza and Italian beef. My husband and I are both natives of Chicago, born and raised south siders (Eastside). Living in Denver for the last few years, we were excited to see an authentic Chicago style restaurant has made it here. We ordered The Northsider with added Giardiniera and two Italian beef sandwiches to go. We took a seat in the back and waited for about an hour. After a while, we highly anticipated leaving to wait in the car due to the selection of music that was played with having our daughter in tow; tons of profanity. When we received the pizza, it did not come in a box or wrapped in foil to keep it warm as us Chicagoans are used to. Just a paper bag that soaked up a bunch of the oil. So when we got home of course the pizza was cold and also sparse on the ingredients covering the full pizza. Maybe one piece of sausage on each square. The sandwiches weren't packed with meat as we anticipated and saw from the reviews. However, after giving the sandwich a try it did have a really good flavor along with the au jus being really seasoned. We did appreciate that. We spent a total of $75.73 for our order that included a medium pizza, 2 sandwiches and 2 sodas. In hopes of better quality, maybe we'll give them another shot and dine in the next time around.

Janelle B.

Yelp
Pizza was amazing. If I lived here, I'd frequent this place monthly, at least. The sauce was amazing and the ratio of cheese, pizza, bread, toppings and sauce was top tier.

M T.

Yelp
Chicago style thin crust pepperoni, and Italian sausage was delicious! The service was great, the atmosphere was really relaxing.

Yelp
My group and I randomly walked by this restaurant for a late dinner right after landing in Denver. What drew us in was the Happy Hour & Anniversary deals, and the fact that it was Chicago food (one of our favorite cities!) We walked in around 10pm and it was right after their dinner rush and right before the bar hoppers who wanted a late night snack that came in, so it was quite empty. We didn't expect much, but boy were we surprised! All the food was 10/10 and the service by the owner's wife, Jandee was 10000/10! We ordered Da South Sider pizza, a classic Chicago Dawg, and an Italian Beef. Everything was delicious and the pizza was definitely our favorite. You can definitely tell the food was made with love and came from Chicago. Jandee, the owner's wife and who ran the floor that night, made the most amazing cocktails (that were only $5 each with their special!) She was the absolute best host and even made up a new drink with our group (ask for a Ram bomb if you ever stop by!) We also learned that they do catering and allow events to be hosted there, if anyone is interested in that. Overall a 10/10 experience and will be stopping by again the next time we visit Denver

Yelp
If you're looking for an overpriced half baked pizza that has you on the toilet within 20 minutes of consumption look no further. Never have had more stomach pain from a pizza in my life, the colfax McDonald's hasn't given me this level of pain before and that feels like eating glass. It should be a challenge where if you can eat over 5 slices without contracting dysentery you get a free meal.

Yelp
This is true Chicago pizza!!! Best pizza in denver we order for pick up once a month! They are fast and accommodating to requests. The actual sit down part of the restaurant is still being finished, maybe once it is fully renovated we will go in for a pie on a date night!

Kevin B.

Yelp
Love me some good Chicago food. I always say that is the main thing I miss from Chicago. Not anymore. You suggested taking "dipped" off the menu. I wouldn't. That's true Portillos/Chicago style. It's wasn't too soggy. Maybe just clarify that for non-Chicagoans on the menu. And thank for for dipping it at my request. Great service.

Yelp
We went on Valentine's Day and it was a great environment. We sat at the bar and the owner helped serve us. It was a great experience and the pizza was amazing. We will be returning customers!
google avatar

Yelp
I was so glad to have found this place on Yelp! This place was open late when nothing but fast food places were available. Great thin sliced pizza and homemade ice cream and super friendly service. Inside is small and casual, we didn't stay to dine indoors but just ordered our food to-go and everything came out quickly! If you could only order one thing here, I'd definitely recommend the ice cream over any other offerings!
google avatar

Allison T.

Yelp
Da Sauce's Chicago thin crust nearly nails the real deal. As an Illinois native, I was thrilled by their crust! The Italian sausage and green peppers were perfectly balanced on a crispy, flavorful base. Quick pickup service makes it an easy stop :)

Yelp
Great pizza place, love the Chicago vibes. Owners are great and they have fun cocktails and homemade ice cream.

David H.

Yelp
Absolutely love the pizza at DaSauce! Staff is so friendly, amazing service, and insane bar! Love the chill vibes and food they offer, always a good time at DaSauce! Tried to take a picture of my pizza but it was gone before I could!

Yelp
The BEST Tavern Style Chicago pizza in Colorado! I gladly drive 30 min across town for this pizza! I order mine well done not burnt and cokes out perfect every time!

Yelp
Home away from home. Good gosh almighty! Chicago pizza never tasted so damn good. You know it's delicious when you can't stop dancing because your taste buds are delighted. We had an OG large and pepperoni Chi-zoni (calzone) with banana cream cream as a finale. Good heavens, John and his son crushed it tonight. It was my birthday and. A locale named Noel bought us a round of shots. Felt like family by the time we left at 1am. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a slice of heaven. The ambiance, food, people of all different backgrounds just jive.
google avatar

Yelp
I really really like the flavour of this pizza. But there are some things I don't like about the pizza: When it's cold, it's disgusting. Cold pizza can be a vibe sometimes, but THIS! absolutely not. The way they cut their pizza leaves room for there to be an excess of grease on some of the pieces. I say pieces because for some reason they cut in squares. Which leaves the middle soggy. But also, the crust was slightly over cooked and burnt. Not the best experience, but when warm the pizza is just so good. Heats up pretty well in the air fryer. Idk how I truly feel just yet, but it's cool.

Kimberly I.

Yelp
This place is steps away from my apartment and open late. Can you say drunken slice? I have been here many times now grabbing a slice and the pizza is outrageously good. I'm just a cheese gal, but they do it up right here. Cheese and delicious! I can't wait to come back for a whole pie. Did I mention the staff is the bomb! So dang friendly, love what they do and happy to serve you some dankness! I love you Da Sauce!

Yelp
The best Pizza place I've found !! John is super friendly and energetic he's always quick to lend a hand making the food scooping ice cream washing dishes he treats his staff and his customers like family. He's from Chicago and I'm so happy he's brought a little piece of Chicago here to Denver. Denver food is horrible but Da Sauce is a gem. The building is beautiful the ceilings are so high and it's nice being able to see the staff make the pizzas in the middle of the room. I've tried Da Northsida it's so yummy and their calzones are so good too I love the dough. Their ice cream is homemade too and delicious. I'd def recommend this place to friends and family. Also the music was fire !! Pump up the jam and return of the Mack was playing
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
The pizza was decent! Nothing crazy and not dissimilar from other pizza I have had in the area, but the sauce definitely stood out. Prices a bit high compared to the portion/taste, but to be expected in Denver. The vibes inside were kind of weird, so we probably wouldn't dine in again. But I'd try their waffle ice cream cones next time my sweet tooth is acting up!

Susanna P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple slices. Service was quick and friendly. Slices were great. Right balance of cheese and sauce and if you like a thin crust, this was amazing! Will be my go to!
google avatar

Tyler D.

Yelp
Great place! Delicious, delicious Chicago style food done authentically. The owners of the place are social, accommodating, and kind. I will certainly be returning!
google avatar

Todd L.

Yelp
Over an hour to get a pizza at lunch when there were TWO tables there. New pizza oven was pouring out smoke and the staff either didn't know how to work the exhaust hoods or they don't work. Instead they open the front door when it's 40° outside so we froze for an hour waiting for that pizza. Lunch time music was an explicit rap channel. Family of six walked out after about the 6th nword in 30 seconds. Pizza was good though
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
The pizza is straight gas. Ive tried several pizza places in downtown denver, and this south sider by far beats everything. Every ingredient in the pizza is made in house. Jandy, one of the owners, is super fun. Highly recommend dropping by here before or after a night of drinking. Heck, just spend your night here. This place is awesome. Will definitely be coming back here more often.

Leana B.

Yelp
Da Sauce is the best! Originally from Illinois it is hard to find great pizza. My family has been going here for over a year and it is always amazing. Amazing food and staff. Thanks to John, Jandee and their talented crew!

Max W.

Yelp
My son and his girlfriend came in late in the evening on 10/23, hungry. The medium pizza was listed at about $20. They added peppers and mushrooms, which were put on very sparingly. Additionally, they ordered a Pepsi and a beer. The person running the place then CHARGED THEM SIXTY THREE DOLLARS, (for the additional toppings)!!! The person was confrontative, my son is struggling to avoid losing his temper in confrontations, so they paid. I would have told them to eat the pizza themselves and walked out, but my son is committed to avoiding fights with people. I do not know if it was just the person running the place that evening, or if this is the normal episodic event, but I would have gone ballistic, something my son tries to avoid.

Sapan D.

Yelp
No spoons to eat ice cream and the ice cream had a weird aftertaste. Wouldn't recommend

Shauna A.

Yelp
The pizza was fantastic and we ended up gorging. Both the owners were funny and friendly. They joked around with us and gave recommendations of other great spots to eat at while in town. Great value for the money. They also have made from scratch ice cream and three different kinds of homemade cones, as well as cookies. We will definitely be back during our visit!!
google avatar

Melissa K.

Yelp
I was the date in the aforementioned review! This place is fantastic! I LOVED it!! Everything was perfect!! I cannot wait to return! Thank you, John!
google avatar

Kila O.

Yelp
New favorite pizza place. Perfect crust, perfect amount of sauce, loads of cheese. The large is huge! This is a mom and pop Chicago style thin crust pizza place. They sell by the slice or whole pies. Also on the menu is Chicago beefs which looked tasty. And homemade ice cream! The service was great and super genuine.
google avatar

Faith C.

Yelp
This was a great late night pickup for my fiance and I. We walked in and were welcomed by husband and wife and we had a full conversation with them while they made our food in front of us. We got pizza and I wish we would've eaten it in the place instead of takeout but popping it in the air fryer did the trick. They have an upstairs area that we hung around in until the food was done and the chairs were comfy and the music was good we danced until our food was done. The food made the place smell great and we'll definitely be back. I'm only rating it 4 stars because we're not big deep dish pizza fans but if you are you're going to enjoy this pizza to the fullest extent.
google avatar

Arianna N.

Yelp
Can we talk about the best Ice cream flavor ever!? I call it Cookie Monster- it's BLUE cookies and cream ice cream with cookie dough all I can say is WOW!!! 100/10 recommend
google avatar

Abby A.

Yelp
Very friendly service and delicious, freshly cooked pizza. A great place to go for a more casual dinner.
google avatar

Micky B.

Yelp
Da Sauce continues to be the best. John and his wife deserve all their success, I love bellying up to the bar for a beef and some beers and shooting the breeze with everyone there.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Amazing pizza! Great beer and liquor selection! The homemade ice cream is TO DIE FOR! John and Jandee, the owners, are some of the kindest people I've met and never fail to make me feel welcome. The vibe is very casual and the Chicago decor is so cute! Recently tried the Italian Beef sandwich for the first time: also fantastic! Plus the beef is made in house and fresh, just like literally every. single. ingredient.!!! If you want pizza and good vibes, don't walk, RUN!
google avatar

Dani M.

Yelp
The shop owner Jandy was very cool and sweet to talk to. They make all their own ice cream flavors, which were pretty unique like Peach Cobbla, LSD (Lemon Supreme Dream) with lemon bars mixed in, a mint chocolate chip flavor with lucky charms cereal. They also had traditional Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, but made with their own curated recipes. I had the Strawberry (which I don't normally go for) and I could see and taste real strawberries. I'm excited to see this become a regular spot for the local community!
google avatar

Frieda W.

Yelp
Amazing service friendly a great place to hang out and play cards chill with friends and family!

Samantha C.

Yelp
Worst ever. A small pizza for $24.83?? Look at that mess! And they didn't even provide what I asked for. Never go here!
google avatar

Abbey L.

Yelp
First off let me say the workers are so friendly and accommodating. In regards to the food, the cheesy garlic bread was absolutely amazing! It is made with fresh baguettes and is just so good! However, the thin crust pizza was burnt and dry. It really didn't have much flavor and they didn't have ranch despite it being on their menu and having been open for 6 weeks. Would come back for the cheesy garlic bread and to try the deep dish but likely wouldn't eat the thin crust again. I would say even eating the leftover the pizza with ranch from my fridge the next day, it was still not much better.
