Where to Eat in London This Weekend | London Restaurant Recommendations | Eater London

"A warmly Italian neighbourhood kitchen where wood-fired pizzas achieve a satisfying balance of crisp and chewy crust with well-chosen toppings like buffalo mozzarella and quality prosciutto. Starters such as a light frittura of prawns and courgettes and a generous aubergine parmigiana with a richly comforting tomato sauce feel genuinely nonna-inspired, and the kitchen also turns out considered risottos and well-executed chicken and salmon dishes. The service is cheerful and generous, lending an authentic, convivial atmosphere that sets it apart from typical high-street pizzerias." - Shekha Vyas

We had the best experience here at Da Valter. I had been here once before on my own, with such a pleasant experience that I was expecting nothing less when bringing my friend here this time, & I wasn’t disappointed. The service was excellent, very delightful & catered to every ask of ours, from all staff. We came in for some breakfast, it was quiet & the chef came to shake our hands, introducing himself to us both. The food came within 15/20 mins, hot & freshly prepared. Our waiter Layla was very friendly, sweet & her service was on point. I would highly recommend this place ! You won’t regret coming here.

Just went here for lunch for the first time. Was a loyal customer back when they ran Pizza Da Valter on Bellevue Road - always the Calzone. Met the owner, the waiters and the head chef today. Everyone really friendly and welcoming. We had the seafood pasta (really good), the baby pasta and, of course, the Calzone, cooked in their new pizza oven. The pizza is even better than before! The dough is a bit lighter and crispier. It’s really good - like 10/10 good. The restaurant is decorated nicely and there’s a nice big area out the back (indoors) with plenty of pushchair space. Really happy to have this more upscale version of Pizza Da Valter in our local area. Please pop along one lunchtime or for dinner and support this local gem run by v nice people.

Went in for the first time last night (Tuesday 14th October 2025) they said they had the pizza oven running for two days so not updated the menu yet. We had a ham & mushroom and one with burratta in the middle with rocket and palma ham. Both sensational! Obviously made with sourdough so crusts delicious and you could taste the different cheeses quite distinctly. We didn't order dessert. Then on the way out after we had paid, the chef chatted with us and showed us his new cheese cake style dessert which he insisted we taste that was amazing too (see pic). Definitely having it when we go back. We usually go to the pizza express a couple of doors down which I very much respect especialy for the price point. However you can't really compare the two restaurants as it's so unfair. Da Valta might be very slightly more expensive when you are a Pizza Express member but really it's in a totally different league..... Also their brunch/brefast/coffee set up looks promising too.

De Valter has been reborn! It’s moved just around the corner from Bellevue to a new home on Trinity Road — and what a transformation. The dining room at the back even has a retractable roof, making it perfect for summer. Gone is the pizza oven, replaced with a focus on high-quality pasta, secondi dishes, and some truly amazing desserts. The fresh fish comes from Moxon’s — arguably London’s finest fishmonger — which made my pasta outstandingly good. The team are fantastic — warm, welcoming, and highly professional — which makes every visit an absolute pleasure. I’ve been a loyal customer for quite a few years now, and I’m certain I will be for many more to come!

We recently made an impromptu visit to this Italian restaurant at its newly relocated premises, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable — warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, both from Leyla and chef, Lorenzo! The food was fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The new venue is stunning and a significant improvement on the previous location. The outdoor area is especially impressive, complete with a larger, more modern pizza oven that really elevates the experience. Thanks to their alcohol licence, they’re also now able to host small gatherings and celebrations, making it an excellent choice for special occasions. Overall, a wonderful visit — highly recommended

What a great addition to the area! We visited for the first time on Sunday evening and sat in the garden room at the back, which had its retractable roof open. Lovely setting. We shared a starter and had a pasta dish each, finished with tiramisu - all excellent. We will be back soon.

This place is a true gem. Visited twice and both experiences have been fantastic. Although slightly expensive, the food is very much worth it and nothing has disappointed. The staff are so welcoming, cheery and it is a truly wonderful atmosphere overall.

A true gem in the neighborhood! It has a great local vibe that’s warm and inviting. The folded pizza was absolutely amazing. The Arancini is a must-try which is crispy on the outside and perfectly flavorful inside. The Chili oil is also really good. The service was incredibly caring and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality pizza and a cozy spot to enjoy it!
