I've given this place multiple chances, but each time, I leave feeling disappointed. I've tried both takeout and dining in, and overall, it’s just not worth the price. My takeout experience was especially bad. I ordered the pork cordon bleu, which comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes, but the order was packed poorly. The pork was squished on top of the potatoes, so by the time I got home, everything was soggy. I also tried the orecchiette pasta with sausage and broccoli. It was bland and underwhelming. The sauce was watery, and the sausage was ground so finely that it didn’t pair well with the pasta at all. It felt like a dish made with very little care or effort—definitely not what I expect from a restaurant. It's a shame, since this place is so close to me, but I won’t be returning.

Really enjoyed the food at DaVinci Ristorante. The Masala Parm with lots of Indian flavors was one of my favorites, the quantities were sufficient, we didn’t have a lot of leftovers to take home. The Arancini was great, and the gnocchi too, left a delicious taste in your mouth. We enjoyed the desserts too. We always order food from Peppinos and when we realized this restaurant was being run by the same management- we knew we won’t be disappointed

Google
Appetizer: rice mushroom balls - I didn't taste the rice, it was more of a bread and mushroom taste. Still good, but not exactly what I expected Pastas were good, the masala ravioli- such an interesting take! Pleasantly surprised. Gnocchi mushrooms- didn't taste any mushrooms in there.

Google
Fantastic restaurant and bar! Chef Ravi is personable and talented and food is unique, delicious, and beautifully presented. Head bartender Brendan knows his stuff and gives excellent customer service. Restaurant was packed even on a weeknight and is well worth the value. Bathroomsbare spacious and clean. Loved the European-style atmosphere and highly recommend! Gluten free options readily available, too. You won't be disappointed.

Italian for all ♥️ They had something for everyone, if you want to keep it lite or healthy or full filling. Service was just amazing, during our visit one lady proactively managed the complete service for over 6 tables on a hot summer afternoon. From Breads to drinks, you are given whatever you require, an extra hot oil, butter, cheese. Food suggestions were exceptional and all required changes were accommodated inlined with dietary restrictions. I loved the Arancini, and my virgin mint mojito. Served made me try an out of menu dish of shrimp scampi. Quantity was beyond my appetite. Gnocchi was vegetarian, and Armoniche was well crafted with Italian accents. We also got complimentary on the house dessert for the birthday party. Overall a good place for a meal.

Google
Absolutely amazing! Food, service, atmosphere.. everything was 10/10! My husband and I came in with our two year old and we were blown away. The food and drinks were amazing. We typically go to the north end for Italian but will definitely be coming here from now on. The staff was excellent they truly go above and beyond, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We can’t wait to come back!

Google
We’ve visited 3 times (so far) and had great experiences every time! We choose to sit at the bar, and it’s perfect. Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting proud restaurant owner, Peppino, who is hands-on, visited guests at each table and clearly appreciates the dedicated staff. We will be back often, and recommend that everyone try DaVinci Waltham!

Google
Today was my first visit to Da Vinci. It was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. The service was top notch, the atmosphere was quaint and cozy, and the food was exceptional. For the celiacs out there, the menu was clearly marked with many options and they even have homemade gluten free bread. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
The ambiance and food at Da Vinci Ristorante is amazing! Never had a bad meal there. A hidden gem, I cannot believe it took me so long to find this place. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It's a cute place. Pretty informal and menu is reasonably priced with most of your standard Italian favorites. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. There is some Davinci parking in the back but if there's no spots available parking can be tricky. Overall it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Da Vinci is such a great restaurant on Moody Street. We come here often and it always hits. Our favorite appetizers are the calamari and meatball. We used to love the Arancini but something changed about it and it doesn't hit the same. My favorite entree is the veal Marsala. It's always cooked perfectly tender and very flavorful. My boyfriend also loved the piccata, but he said the gnocchi could be a bit better. Overall, such a great neighborhood staple with fresh food and good service.

Yelp
Nice place right downtown with on street parking. I stopped for a late lunch on a Monday and many of the other businesses along the downtown were closed so it was nice to see a decent looking place to grab lunch. I sat at the bar with my friend. We were greeted immediately by staff and the owner. We ordered drafts and Rhode Island mussels which hit the spot. Bread was served along side with house made basil infused olive oil and parm cheese. The decor was nice and the restrooms were clean. There was a brick pizza oven in the dining room but no pizza on the menu so I'm unsure if they offer them. Only 30 minutes from Boston and on the way from southern New England. Check it out.

Ken L.

Yelp
Service was excellent. The owner came out to check with us to see if everything was going well. Very friendly staff. We got there at 6pm on a weeknight. The noise level was not bad at first, but built up over time to the point where it was hard to carry on a conversation. Every food item was good, but none of them were great. Absolutely 4*. I don't think you can get a bad meal here. If I lived closer, I might try them again, but it just is not worth traveling a great distance.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Live somewhat nearby in Newton, but haven't had the chance to eat here in person yet...but had a to go order. I had the Papardelle short ribs and it was so good. Also had the meatball appetizer and great too.

Craig O.

Yelp
Great people and yummy food... a hidden gem in Boston area. Don't walk but run so you can get true atmosphere.

Jay M.

Yelp
Stepped in for dinner either Sweet Basil across street or Da Vinci. Opted for Da Vinci. Ordered the short rib pasta dish on menu and excellent beef flavors . It was a good size portion with plenty of short rib tender meat . They did have nightly specials . They offered complimentary bread, olive oil, grated cheese. I honk bread could be improved to a better soft hot French bread or rolls type ... bread was 3 small slices, dry and no flavor I was looking for with my pasta . Creme brûlée was good but was ice cold like it was in frig and was torched brûléed topping done before going in frig... so no hot caramelized topping... but it was good size desert and was eaten promptly. It was noisy with few patrons as owner or chef was telling in Spanish across restaurant to his female friends at the bar. We will visit again as other dishes looked appealing . Service was prompt and hospitable.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Better than expected! The sauce is amazing! We had the lasagna, chicken Parmesan, and the Indian/italian ravioli.... Such an interesting twist... did not disappoint. Staff was great! We will be back!

Sophia M.

Yelp
I recently had dinner at Da Vinci Ristorante, and it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for an evening out. The food was phenomenal--my pasta was cooked to perfection, and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had.

Rob D.

Yelp
I don't give out 5 stars alot on my reviews. It's only when the stars align and it happened here at DaVinci. I stumbled upon this restaurant with the help of Yelp. I was traveling on business and wanted to partake in some good Italian food. I FOUND IT!!!!!! I sat at the bar as I always tend to do when I am traveling. Like I have said in other reviews I think that it's more enjoyable especially because there is a comradely with the patrons. This time I was the only one at the bar but the bar tender was amazing. One of the many reasons why this review gets 5 stars. Great service, very personable and just a lot of fun to interact with. The Food was everything that I hoped it would be. I started off with the arugula salad and wow, what a great flavor. Light yet, great combination of ingredients. Everything seemed to complement each other. For my main, I chose the Lasagna. I think that this is a dish that typically I take for granted. But when done well, it's amazing. Here it was amazing. Great portion size but not too heavy that you walk out with a gut bomb. My only complaint was they forgot to serve bread with the meal. When I mentioned it to the bartender, she apologized and brought some over immediately. She also brought some sauce to dip it in. They make this in house and it was perfect. What put my experience over the top was that the owner came over and engaged me in conversation. It wasn't the typical glad handing, it was personal and I learned a lot about the business and the other restaurants that he owns in the area. What an amazing story. Please support this business as the experience was top notch.

Yelp
Came here with my parents , my wife and our one year old son. The staff was super friendly and even the bartender was making my baby laugh! Food was great, just another amazing Italian spot for me to frequent here in Waltham!

Yelp
Another five-star meal and experience... Hadn't eaten all day. Not good... We were heading to the Bentley University Men's basketball game vs. Assumption University to watch my sun play. Time was tight. We wanted to dine in, and we didn't want to miss tip off. Dilemma. Bulb light came on, bright idea, somewhat unorthodox: We called ahead to Da Vinci Ristorante after perusing the yelp app for eats. Spoke to Courtney, who was phone friendly, totally welcoming. We inquired about the possibility of placing our food orders over the phone but sitting down to eat. Courtney paused and happily took our orders, granted our wishes: Chicken Parmigiano and Lasagna. Delicious, problem solved! Excellent. When we arrived about nine minutes later, much to our delight, Courtney greeted us with her signature smile. She sat us where we wanted and served as our waitress. She's the best, totally spectacular... After nine more minutes of fresh water, Coca-Cola with lime for her, Canada Dry with lemon for me, and small talk with Courtney, dinner was served. Time to enjoy our meals. With zero exaggeration here: Courtney and her team were awesome. The food was so fantastic we ordered some for the family to go. Courtney's sincere service with her sincere smiles made us feel special, like honored guests. Life is about balance, so we gladly returned the warmth via our generosity and gratuity to her, the master chef, sous-chef, and runner. All smiles. Buon appetito! Thank you, Courtney. Please keep smiling because #YourSmileDrivesUs.

Yelp
Had dinner here with my friends and it was absolutely delicious! From the bread to dessert, the food was consistently good. We had the Caesar salad, the masala ravioli, chicken parm, short rib pasta, pistachio cannolis and the crème brûlée. The food presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted great. Our favorites were the short rib pasta and the pistachio cannolis. The restaurant is located on moody street so there is plenty of street parking as well as parking lots on different side streets, making it easily accessible. The waitress was kind and gave many recommendations- all of which were fabulous. I would love if they had pizza because the restaurant that used to be here had brick oven pizza that was delicious! It is a casual atmosphere that you could go with your friends, family or on a date. I recommend making a reservation if you go on the weekend as it can get busy since it is popular. Enjoy!

Yelp
I am so disappointed and upset about our experience in this restaurant. We were visiting from California to celebrate my husband's birthday. I picked this place based on the reviews. We were seated right away since there were not that many people. Our waitress Darcy greeted us and she was very nice, at first. We were not very hungry nor do we drink alcohol. When Darcy took our order it was clear she was not happy that we didn't order any alcoholic beverages and that we ordered an appetizer and a meal to share. After she took our order her demeanor changed, she was distant and kind of rude. She hardly checked on us while she kept checking on the table next to ours. When she delivered the check, under the ticket were the suggested tip percentages are listed, she underlined the 20% tip option. It was only two of us and her service was terrible, clearly we didn't leave 20%. She made our special dinner very uncomfortable and we couldn't wait to leave. We got the Friti Misto which was good. The risotto was bland, no flavor at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. 0 stars.

Yelp
Went there for lunch with a friend. Found the ambiance pleasant and the service friendly. Salads are fresh and crunchy, lightly dressed with a nice rasberry vinaigrette. Main courses are professionally plated and attractive to look at. The pastas taste homemade and the chicken saltimbocca was authentic. A little more sage would help. Aslo the bread could be better. We had a perfect tiramisu and they make an excellent espresso. Looking forward to having dinner there. And the prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity.

Yelp
I believe Da Vinci is a pretty recent Italian restaurant on Moody St., with a great menu that makes me want to return. I ordered the sausage orecchiette in a cream sauce which tasted wonderful. Their meatball appetizer was excellent too and bursting with flavor. We had to have the crème brûlée for dessert, also great with a nice texture. The service was very good, attentive and always nearby for anything you need. The ambiance was appealing, lots of dark wood and nice pictures and paintings on the walls. Very tasty cocktails too. For great Italian food in the area, Da Vinci is highly recommended!

Deanna B.

Yelp
Meatballs appetizer - balanced and wonderful sauce. Delicious orechiette sausage broccoli dish that had a white wine sauce. Topped with shaved parmesan that melts into the sauce as you stir your pasta. The sausage was ground sausage and had nice flavour. I got the Apricot Martini which was refreshing and sweet. The service was very consistent, filling water all the time. A very nice server. I didn't get the image for the creme brulee but it was very tasty. My only complaint was that the creme brulee didn't have a consistent sugar topping that cracked upon dipping my spoon but it was wonderful. The ambiance was great but some of the tables feel too close to each other. I would recommend and definitely go back.

Sara L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food and people l-- Highly recommend. Friendly an warm service. We've been 3 times and will be back.

Deb W.

Yelp
I live a block away from Moody St. and I am always looking forward to new restaurants opening up here. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious and very modern looking. We came for an early weekday dinner and were the only ones in the restaurant. As a result the waitress was very attentive and our food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the fritto misto as an appetizer which was very well fried and the dipping sauce had good flavor. This was probably the highlight of our dinner. For entrees, we ordered the mushroom gnocchi and the seafood fradiavolo. I've had similar dishes many times at other Italian restaurants so I was excited to try it here as well. Unfortunately both lacked flavor and ended up tasting a bit bland. I love the proximity of the location and ambiance of restaurant, but with so many options for Italian food around, I'm not sure I'll be back.

Courtney S.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant on Moody street!! Amazing food, quite the selection of wines. Handcrafted cocktails. Homemade gnocchi, arancini, and salad dressings!! The Davinci salad is debatably the best salad I've ever had. Servers are always smiling and accommodating!

B S.

Yelp
All the food was extremely salty. Lobster ravioli, had little ground up bits of lobster- for $30 a serious disappointment again heavy hand with salt! The Chicken Saltimbocca, again was extremely salty, the best thing about that particular dish, the carrots were perfect, and the potatoes were done OK The eggplant Rollotini was hard to cut with a knife! The bread for the table was extremely dry The crème brûlée, was old, cold and pasty absolutely disgusting. The waiter was very nice but completely ignorant regarding the menu and how the food was made. Never again! costs too much for mediocre food!

R M.

Yelp
Amazing food , service and people great place. Peppino's adds his own take on Italian

Melissa G.

Yelp
Highly recommend Da Vinci on Moody Street. The food and drinks are amazing. I have dined here many times and can't say enough about the homemade pasta as well as the grilled lamb chops. Definitely recommend trying.

Bea T.

Yelp
I had a really lovely dining experience here. The decor is Urban Chic and the main thing is the food was delicious. And service level was excellent. It was a typical busy night and our server Arber was the sweetest and the most gracious server. Totally come back because he was so professional and accomodating. He greeted us and made sure we were good with the wine and the appetizers. I made the comment about there was not enough truffle sauce to the arancini because my husband and I were fighting over it. He made sure I went home with a couple so I would be very happy. I thought that was very thoughtful and professional of him. At some point it was busy and his fellow server was helpful to take our main course order. It was fine because she was cool. The servers showed me they work as a team. My entrees were fantastic with my perfectly cooked medium lamb chops and the veal saltimbocca was to die for! The plating was completely gorgeous. I was very pleased with our desserts. The Tiramisu was very unique because they added berries in it too but the consistency and the texture was a cross between a tiramisu and a creme brulee. Yummy. I'm giving them a high rating because I really feel that the decor, the service, the food was worth it. Mishaps can happen but when the service dispays ownership and makes sure we are satisfied, that's VERY high marks from me! I want Arber to serve us again! The Best!

Yelp
Da Vinci Ristorante opened their Waltham location recently on Moody Street next door to Tempo. This restaurant and bar is part of the Peppino family of restaurants who also operates Peppino's Dosa and restaurants in Sudbury including Da Vinci's Bistro, Soul of India, and Sudbury Point Grill. This cozy Italian restaurant and bar has mostly high top table seating, seating at the bar and table seating along the wall. They offer a variety of pasta dishes, Italian entrees (veal, chicken, lamb chops, pork, beef tenderloin, salmon), salads, brick oven wood fired pizzas (personal size), and a variety of appetizers. The bar offers 10 beers on tap, bottle beers, wine list, mixed drinks and cocktails. The kitchen in the back is visible from the bar and light background music plays over the speakers. I stopped in at Da Vinci in Waltham recently for dinner. I took a seat up at the bar where two TVs at each side had the NFL highlights on. I was given menus by the bartender as I sat down. I was given soft bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar for dipping. For a starter, the Cozze Con Brodetto ($14 plus tax) had around 30 small Rhode Island mussels with white wine, roasted tomatoes, olives and lemon broth. This dish was pretty good and I used the complementary bread for dipping. For dinner, the Lasagne Emiliane ($21 plus tax) was served extremely hot out of the oven, which had sheets of lasagne layered with bechamel, bolognese sauce and parmesan cheese and plenty more tomato sauce in the bowl. The bartender gave me more bread, oil/balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese too! I enjoyed some of this very hot lasagna, but I needed a to go box. I passed on dessert and got the check which was $37.45 with tax and before tip. Overall, à very filling and tasty Italian dinner and exceptional and attentive service. I would definitely stop in again, but I would bring my friend too.

Peter K.

Yelp
Bad. Had a spaced-out server I had to chase down to get basic service. Even had to do this just to get a glass of wine. I ordered lasagna and the server/kitchen, not sure which, lost my order. When the lasagna arrived it was little more than glorified tomato soup.

blake m.

Yelp
Order delivery. Food was our least favorite Italian food we've ever ordered in this area. We've lived here for 3 years. My wife and I both didn't finish our plates and we threw out the rest.

Michael K.

Yelp
Let's start off saying my waitress was awesome. So we got the fried Misto (calamari) platter and the charcuterie board. The calarmari was absolute trash. We couldn't tell if the calamari was freezer burnt or just cooked to death. I was embarrassed for the chef. The charcuterie board was good but very basic and not impressive for $16. Dinner my wife and mother in law got the chicken saltimbocca and they liked it other than the potatoes were burnt. Our friend got the Marsala ravioli. She said the sauce was just ok but the stuffing was like it was a canned product. I got the risotto frutti di mare. I asked for it to be spicy with the fra diavolo sauce. I tried it and it had zero heat. So I asked if it was the correct sauce and the waitress said yes. Again zero heat and lacking flavor. The muscles were way over cooked. The meal was maybe a 4/10. I literally had 4 bites and the plate was still full. Never asked if there was a problem. Asked me if I wanted a to go container and I said no but again not asking me anything. So $28 for four bites. The drinks were good. I would say there was nothing authentic Italian here and can't believe the Phantom gourmet recommended it. Olive Garden is terrible and they have better food. Embarrassing. Would never return and don't recommend to anyone. It was all Phantom Gourmet hype.

Phyllis J.

Yelp
The food was good. Service was polite and professional. Restaurant was loud and small.

Alicia D.

Yelp
My husband and I have been wanting to try out this new restaurant. We went last night for date night and we were NOT disappointed. Service: We sat at the bar. A huge shout out to Brendan. He made a really good dirty martini and expresso martini. He was really good about checking in with us and turned on the Bruins per our request. He was super nice and made our experience great Food: we got a salad, pasta and lamb. My husband said his lamb was delicious It was a Thursday night and moderately busy, but not overwhelming. We had a good time - we will be back

Ravinder H.

Yelp
One of the best Italian food In town in the heart of moody st definitely the place to go

Firefly B.

Yelp
Food was good. The reason I'm leaving this review is because of the greatness of the staff. I loved how warm this restaurant was - because of the quality of its people. If it were my own restaurant, I'd want to work with all of them.

D P.

Yelp
Horrible service. Food took forever. Waiter never paid attention to us at all despite walking past table multiple times.

Marianne B.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant! The veal marsala was heavenly. My friend said the Caesar salad was the best she ever had. Other friend loved the pork chop Cordon Bleu and apricot martini. Charming, attentive waiter, beautiful ambiance. This is not an Italian restaurant in which you will be served frozen, mass produced food smothered in red sauce and mozzarella cheese, but rather, a culinary tour of authentic cuisine from various regions of Italy. It will take the chef a bit of time to prepare your incredible meal, but it's well worth the wait. I recommend Da Vinci highly.

Ken K.

Yelp
Take out order.Chicken parm is decent. Ordered take out and went to pick up food and found out that only half of my order was made. The hostess had said she tried to call me and when I asked for the number that was called it was the wrong number. The hostess proceeded to stare at me and not say a word.

Bb W.

Yelp
Food was very good, a little salty. We ordered 2 apps: meatball in sauce & mussels - both were very nice. Red sauce was pretty decent, not too vinegary and not too sweet. My lamb chops were very good. Service was a little slow, but courteous.

Terrence A.

Yelp
I've had better meatballs at a school lunch. I swear they come out of a frozen Sysco bag. Some of the worst bread I've ever had. I tried it because I saw it on Phantom Gourmet. Should have known better. Those idiots are bought and paid for.

Melody S.

Yelp
For an Italian place, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered the veal piccata and it was so bland and whatever flavors there were, it tasted separated. The lemon taste was its own... the fra diavlo was disappointing as my husband ordered this. The mussels were not fresh and taste was dull. However, our waitress was nice and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. It is located on the main strip so there was much going on and things to see in the area. Not confident we will be back though

Brandon P.

Yelp
Where do I start? Hmmmmm... We came here to clear rate my brothers graduation. Service was phenomenal! The chef even came out and introduce himself. Arbor was a true professional for sure. Super attentive and knowledgeable and more so his humor enlighten my family. The drinks were delicious and the food was amazing! We ordered mussels, fried calamari, Arancini (must try dish made to perfection) for our apps. For our entrees I personally got the bolognese and it was beautifully made. Various family members tried the Lamb Chops and short ribs and said it was delicious! Definitely a must visit if you are in the area. Thank you to the chef and Arbor for an memorable experience! Will be returning soon!

sarah h.

Yelp
Bar looked really nice but I didn't get to try any of the drinks. Tables were a little close together. Service was good and we were checked in on. I really liked the masala ravioli, a great mix of Indian/Italian cuisine. Other than that the menu is pretty basic for an Italian restaurant.

Jen M.

Yelp
COME HERE!!! Courtney, Ravi & Arber are INCREDIBLE! Amazing customer service, food and atmosphere is fantastic. I was super sad when Charcoal Guido's closed at this location but was pleasantly surprised when this place exceeded my expectations at every turn. Atmosphere: They don't stuff you in here like sardines like before and the lighting is better. Food: I mean, you like Italian, you'll love it here. The menu will satisfy your Italian food cravings. Arancini is top notch. My friend got chicken parm and I got the Lasagna - yes, generic Italian food but I had to try the staples, come on. Honestly, I can't wait to go back to try many of the other menu options. HOMEMADE LEMONCELLO?! Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes. We had the Blood Orange lemoncello and Watermelon lemoncello. Absolute perfection. Service: I felt like I was the only one in the restaurant. So attentive, helpful with the menu and patient with my dumb questions lol. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the food because I ate it too fast. I did, however, remember to take pics of the drinks, bread, and my ugly mug.

Alan C.

Yelp
food & service is top notch! chef peppino is always greeting the customers to make sure the food is cook to their perfection! try his other restaurant down the block on moody peppenio dosa which is vegan and just as good!

Shailesh K.

Yelp
Excellent food - we had the tortellini in mushroom sauce - which was out of this world. Wood fired pizza was perfectly balanced in taste and texture.

Tess C.

Yelp
The BEST tortellini I have ever had. Definitely recommend! Great service and atmosphere. Perfect addition to Moody street. Have already gone twice since they opened.

Varlet U.

Yelp
This place is authentic Italian cuisine as they come. Me and my SO came here for valentines day a few years ago and we really enjoyed it. I'm a big steak, and chicken person so I was a little disappointed with not enough options/variety but that's just a personal preference and I know everyone has enjoyed the other food from here as well. Would recommend at least one time!

Pebbles F.

Yelp
Very good food at the hands of the best chef, and good drinks. I love that place, my best place.

Phyllis W.

Yelp
It was 4 of us in my party. The food was good. All of us enjoyed what we ordered. I wanted to order clams and pasta as my meal. But I was told that they ran out of clams, so I had to change my order which I really didn't want to. So I ordered Bolognese. It was okay. It wasn't what I wanted. Then I ask for bread and they ran out of bread. I was very surprised that DaVinci would ran out of bread! That never happened to us before at an Italian restaurant. Saving the best for the last! Our waitress Sara, was the best waitress we have ever had! She was so accommodating. Very nice and helpful. She made sure that we enjoyed our meals. Constantly checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Very attentive! The best! Phyllis W.
