Dabba

Nice South Indian restaurant with authentic cooking straight from the heart. The flavours are bold, colourful and well balanced. The menu is interesting and has great options. We loved everything we had - the tiffin boxes with breads, rice and salads were just right. The venue is well designed with a low-key but thoughtful vibe, the service was friendly and attentive.

Thoroughly enjoyed our food yesterday evening at Dabba. One of the best masala dosa's I've eaten in a while (and I've eaten a lot). Very welcoming owners and clearly very passionate about their food. Highly recommend.

My first time at Dabba this evening, I’ve heard many people say how amazing it is and I was expecting it to be good, but it really was AMAZING!! I had the beef curry which was better than any other beef curry I’ve had. The parathas and mango salad with coconut yogurt were lovely too. I was too stuffed for dessert, but couldn’t resist the chocolate mousse, nice big portion too! We’ll definitely be returning to Dabba!!

Very delicious food. I had a very informative chat when I mentioned my numerous food allergies and was advised accordingly. The special family recipe soup I had was superb and a must-have, but everything I ate was excellent. At first, I thought the portion size was small, but I left stuffed and will return (for a bucket load of the soup). My only small gripe was some of the artwork, but that is purely down to my personal likes. I travel whenever I can solely for food, and in the future, when asked for my fav places in the world to eat, this will be amongst them.

We came here based on the high google review score. The service was really good (the girl serving was really friendly and enthusiastic about the food) and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. However, we were left fairly disappointed with the food having high expectations based on the high google score. The menu looked interesting and we ordered the Goan Chicken Curry and the Sorpotel. We have been to quite a few South Indian restaurants and felt that this wasn't as good as others we've been to, with the food just being ok.. The Goan Chicken Curry was especially disappointing .. being very bland. The tiffin boxes that the dishes came in, however, was a nice touch. Pricewise ...it also seemed a little overpriced as the main curry dishes themselves were quite small.

One of the best Indian meals I've ever had, with wonderful friendly service too. Everything was so well-executed, with harmonious flavours in every dish, plus piquant chutneys as a complement. And the paratha was excellent, which is always a sign of a place that knows what it's doing! Very much looking forward to going back next time I'm in Chester.

We’ve been wanting to try dabba for so long, and it was worth the wait. We have Indian family, and to find an authentic South Indian restaurant is a rarity. The service was incredible, they were busy (which we were happy to see) and were so kind about the wait times, which we didn’t find long at all. The masala dosa was incredible, and a special mention to the smoked haddock and sweet potatoes curry - amazing! One of the owners also came around at the end to say hello, which is such a special touch. Highly recommend, thank you for having us

Possibly the best Indian meal we’ve ever had The food was flavourful and wonderfully spiced . The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed
