"A second location of SoMa counter-service restaurant Dabba, whose first location opened in July 2016, will arrive in the Marina at 2240 Chestnut on June 11, taking over the former Seed + Salt space. Dabba, whose kitchen is helmed by former Spruce executive chef Walter Abrams, is named for the Hindi word for lunchbox and inspired by Mumbai’s lunch delivery system. But it’s not just Indian in its flavors according to CEO Andy Mercy. “Our spices are about 50 percent Indian and 50 percent everything else,” he said last fall, with recipes adapted from — and credit given to — Marin County favorite Avatar’s." - Caleb Pershan

The food is great and the staff is even better. Very helpful when it came to the menu, which is packed with delicious and health options. If you dine in you get a warm face towel which is a relaxing/nice touch. I got the “Borderless” bowl which offered a good variety of meats/flavors and I’d recommend that if it’s your first time here. Prices are similar to what you’d find at similar eateries on Chestnut/the Marina.

Food was delicious and the staff was very eager to give us a great experience. Had a bowl with veggies which was nicely cooked - all the veggies was still a bit crunchy and the toppings were packed with flavour.

This is freakin good! The taste is so authentic and so many flavors in a single bowl! Just loved it! Gonna come here often! I tried the bowl with veggies, highly recommend!

Healthy, balanced meal with tons of different flavors in one bowl - few types of chutney, veggies, chickpeas, quinoa, and choice of meat (chicken/pork/beef) or seasonal veggies. Definitely filling but not super heavy, great post-workout meal or a healthy meal in general. Def coming back soon

Quick food with flavor! Amazing Indian fusion restaurant perfect for lunch or quick dinner. These dishes are the chicken salad and burrito, and the lamb is also a favorite.

Excellent place, the energy in here is uplifting and positive, the music, the staff, owner, people that come in here, a mix of humanity, I like it. I have gotten the borderless bowl last few times which includes, lamb, hummus, avocado, pork and blackened chicken with the works, definitely get the small it is a beast the bowl. 😋 Macha green tea was nice and chill. i always wind my meal down with a chai tea. This place provides the goods to pick me back up and go attack rest of the day. Good place. Blessings all around

Dabba marina location open just in time for summer. Same menu as Fidi and draft beer is available. Seating is very limited with choice of booth or high table. While dining you can see all the action in kitchen. There isn't any table service, you pay and received a oversized wooden clothespin with number attached. Since I got a tour of place prior to opening, I knew what I was in for. I got a lamb curry bowl with all fixings included. It is somewhat close to authentic, but made with a slight twist of things. Nevertheless, it was delicious got me burping after two hours.
