Dacha's lively outdoor beer garden offers a top-notch selection of German brews and creative bites, perfect for groups or a casual sun-soaked hangout.
"The Dacha Loft, the adjacent space above Shaw’s Dacha Beer Garden, is well equipped to host rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, bridal showers, and corporate events. The brick-lined perch also houses a curated selection of glossy artwork." - Vinciane Ngomsi, Tim Ebner, Eater Staff
"Dacha’s Oktoberfest celebration this year doubles as its 10-year anniversary festival, kicking off with a ceremonial keg tapping at noon. Dacha debuted in Shaw in September 2013 and has poured more than 3 million pints of beer since. Over at Dacha’s Navy Yard sibling, the party starts with a keg tapping at 2 p.m., followed by pretzel-eating and boot-holding contests and appearances from baseball’s beloved Racing Presidents, Dacha’s polka band A Jury of Your Beers, and German dance performances by Potomactaler. Along with live entertainment every weekend, Navy Yard hosts Nationals catcher Riley Adams on September 24 and Dogtoberfest on September 30." - Tierney Plumb
"Even without stepping foot in the place, Dacha Beer Garden feels familiar, thanks to an iconic mural of Elizabeth Taylor painted alongside the building. Just as memorable on the inside, the beer garden features pours from near (the District) and far (Belgium and Germany). German fare includes traditional schnitzel and big pretzels, with Bullfrog bagels and avocado toast during weekend brunch. A “puppy provisions” menu caters to its devoted dog clientele with drinkable beers and treats." - Tierney Plumb, Tim Ebner

"This isn’t the first time a beer garden tried to scoop up the same site. Met with neighborhood pushback for noise concerns, Shaw drinking spot Dacha Beer Garden revised what was originally pitched to the public as an open-air drinking haven for 600 with a pricey plan to add professional soundproofing and more enclosed areas in 2017." - Tierney Plumb
