Daddy’s in South Padre Island has a solid reputation, but our experience was a bit mixed. We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Dirty Sampler, which sounded exciting but ended up being underwhelming. For $25, we expected a decent spread, but it was surprisingly small—especially with just a few stuffed shrimp jalapeños, some calamari, and cheese sticks. Honestly, not worth the price at all. On the brighter side, the shrimp Alfredo was really good—creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked well. The shrimp tacos were also enjoyable, and the shrimp po’boy was generous in size and had a nice kick to it. However, we also ordered the Lila Special, which is supposedly award-winning, but it didn’t live up to the hype. It left a strange aftertaste and wasn’t something we’d recommend. One thing to note: don’t drink the water. It had a strange, almost chemical taste that put us off. Also, be aware of the 20% service charge for parties over six, which is automatically added—and then you’re still expected to tip on top of that. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible meal, but for the price and the uneven quality of food, we probably wouldn’t go back. There are better options on the island.

We brought 5lbs. of fresh Black Drum & Speckled Trout in to have it cooked for our dinner. We asked for blackened, grilled and fried. The fish was cooked to perfection and was some of the best tasting fish our group of 4 has ever tasted. I totally recommend this restaurant to Cook your Catch, you won’t be disappointed!! Our waitress did an excellent job as well.

Excellent cajun food! I learned how to cook from a Boudreaux who was married to a Bourque. Daddy's has it down! We went twice while we were in the area for a week. The Bayou was perfection. The Red Beans & Rice amazing. Make sure to get the sweet corn bread muffins. Best I've ever had. I wish I knew how to get my rice to come out like theirs, also perfection. My husband, the burger conisseur, said the burger was delicious!

First time, seated right away, staff was quick and attentive. Had the kraken noodles was very good, just wished it was a lil more spicy. The salad was massive but good

By far our families favorite seafood restaurant on the island. Service was quick and everything was made to our liking. We had a complimentary photo taken which was a nice treat as we were with family friends.

WOW! Couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was much more casual than the quality of food. We visited on a Monday and had the 75 cent special on oysters. They were great. Had the stuffed flounder......AMAZING!!! blackened reddfish with grab cake ..... buttery rich and cooked to perfection. We will be back !!

Daddy's is somewhat loud, the food was bland and for ordering blackened fish and a cajun seafood boil, the flavor was not there. I asked for cayenne pepper to give it some heat and added some salt. I wasn't impressed. I recommend Llamas SPI for a seafood boil destination. See Llamas SPI review for more details.
